The Z Hotel Soho

The room was very small with a tiny window.. there wasn’t a shower cap, toothbrush, body cream or iron.. the lifts weren’t working either.. expensive for what you got..

I ordered a room with a window. Only 2 rooms were available. The first room I was given someone was inside sleeping when I went into the room. The second room I was given the AC was broken and there was no window even though I’d ordered a room with a window. A fan simply blew the hot air around the room all night. It was like trying to sleep in a sauna. Terrible experience and will never visit again.

You can't beat the location! This was steps away from Covent Gardens (right next to the Harry Potter theatre) and a really short walk to Oxford Street. And also close to many Tube stations. You are surrounded by excellent food and shopping and it's the perfect location. The elevator was broken when I was there so it was a bit of a journey to climb 4 flights of stairs multiple times a day for 5 days. But the staff were super helpful and helped carry bags up and down - they were lovely. The rooms are small but they are clean and comfortable and exactly what you need. I would stay there again!

Booked an inside room as only staying for one night. Arrived on the hottest day of the year >33 degrees. On checking in around 17:30 informed that the air conditioning was not working. Offered free breakfast as compensation which was declined due to other fans. A small tower fan was provided but did not improve the heat in the room which was in excess of 38 degrees overnight. It was impossible to sleep. Also the shower cubicle- seal was broken on the bottom of the door causing the water to poor out into the room. Whilst the offer of breakfast was kind, I would have preferred to be informed prior that the air con was not working and possibly offered a room at an alternative z hotel. In any case it would have given chance to find an alternative hotel. I would not have booked the hotel and especially an internal room, without air con being available.

Dreadful. Took far long to check me in and the staff seemed to have no be surprised that I had a booking. The two male receptionists kept talking to each other in Indian in front of me. The AC was broken so the room was far too warm and the light on it kept blinking.

Amazing central London location for a fair price, and the staff were really helpful. I would've liked a bit more natural light or a bigger window in my room, and the air conditioning was a bit noisy, but honestly for the price and as it was a last-minute booking I can't complain. Would stay there again.

I booked a 1 night stay in the hotel, check in was at 3 but arrived at 14:50 being told I was early and might have to wait. I waited while they dealt with a phone call and they then started to check me in. I was advised that the AC was broken in the room, I refused this has it was incredibly warm and due to the location of the hotel, opening a window would have meant no sleep what so ever! They then offere me another room but on the 3rd floor but then advised me the lift was out of order. This didn't bother me. I made my way to the room but had to navigate around the cleaning carts and laumdy bags (which were still there the next morning). The room was compact but clean and tidy. The staff need to learn how to smile to make the customer feel valued. The situation of the hotel was right in the heart of Soho and very busy so ideal to just pop out and wander around. If they could just pick up on those few points that would make such a difference to the rating of this place, I would stay again but I was luck that the price that had been £120 all week had dropped to £94 for the night i stayed, it certaily wasn't worth the higher rate.

I could barely walk to the bathroom from my bed as my suitcase was on the floor. It was hard to be in the space without wanting to get out as soon as possible. The AC was freezing and I couldn't lower it.

The room was extremely noisy you could hear everything in accompanying rooms, outdoors and the hallways. The shower head was broken - only a hose was left to shower with. There was no hot water the night before, however it was hot in the morning. The window latch was also broken. The entire place could do with an update and a lot of repairs are needed. On a good note, the bed linen was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was excellent.

The room was small (as described, so that was fine) and clean. For a few nights it’s absolutely fine, especially if you only need the room for sleeping. The bathroom was practical, though I would have appreciated a few more storage areas. The staff was pleasant and very friendly (with the exception of one gentleman, who may have just been inexperienced). The mattress was a bit saggy, but still comfortable. On the last evening, however, a faint unpleasant odor developed in the bathroom, as if something was wrong with the toilet drain. Fortunately, I was able to keep it out by keeping the bathroom door closed. One negative point was that the hotel never replied to any of my emails before the trip. I could have saved myself bringing an adapter if I had known there was a German-style socket available in the room.

I was told to let the shower run for 30 minutes, but after over an hour, freezing cold. The mattress is a thin cot or army type mattress on wood. It’s extremely uncomfortable. The floors in the room were filthy. My feet were almost black from walking around. The room smelled very strongly of mold. The staff were not helpful as they could not tell me anything about how to get hot water. The construction outside of the unit was unsafe and unsightly. The pictures on the web site for the hotel are when the hotel looked better I assume. I immediately got a headache and allergies started to flare up when enter the room. Restaurant had terrible food. I hated this place and left about 3 hours after being there. I didn’t care about finances, but I had asked the staff and they said they could not reimburse me. I told them that I need hot water and they once again assured me that I just have to let the water run for 30 minutes. Anyway, terrible place. Please don’t give them any of your business.

Awful. The room was dirty and had an unpleasant smell. The water bottle was open and half empty. The bathroom was really small and the door didn't work properly. Also something wrong with the heating system as it was boiling. It also took 3 staff members to check me in. Avoid at all costs!

Amazing location, central to everything! At this point, this comes at a cost - the rooms are very, very small. But the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and the staff was very professional and kind. Overall, would recommend.

We had a free upgrade on arrival but room smelt strongly of sewage but they changed our room and was a perfect stay,in a perfect location at a great price ! Will be booking again.

Overall, my experience was satisfactory. However, I encountered an issue during my shower when the water refused to drain. The drain became severely clogged, causing the water to accumulate rapidly. To address this problem, I had to contact the reception desk, who dispatched a maintenance representative to unblock the drain. This could have been rectified during the housekeeping service, as maintenance should have been notified to perform the necessary task. Great location, friendly stuff and clean

Clean room , easy check in , very comfortable , bed only accessible from one side so was a little bit of a problem but managed ok ! Next time will ask for a different room ! We wanted some windows so maybe that was the sacrifice 🙏❤️ Staff very helpful , breakfast was a bit sparse when we arrived but everything was replenished when we asked ! Coffee was very good ! All round very happy with our Experience and so will defo stay again ! Thank you

We paid a very fair price for a very quick stay as we literally needed a place to sleep and jet off in the AM. I have to tell you though, this hotel room was disgusting, to be frank. The bathroom had no separation from the shower and soaked the entire floor, toilet and sink which had to be dried by us; I can appreciate efficiency but we found this to be unsanitary and just gross. In hindsight, it would have been worth another $100 to stay in another small place.

My wife and i were staying in London for the night but were a bit late in booking a room and so were paying over £250 for one night. For that we got a room (room 320) with a double bed pushed up against a wall and a toilet and shower room which leaked into the room and had a door which wouldnt shut properly. The room could not have been smaller. Great location, friendly staff, but wont be back.

Great location and friendly staff. The room was so small as to be barely functional for two people. The single toilet/shower would get all wet everywhere upon every use. It was the hardest mattress that i've ever slept on. Staff, location, great. Room... Not very good.

Everything was very good, the only issue was the size of the room itself as that was way to small for 2 people

this hotel was great value for its location, and although from the outside it looks a bit average, once inside it is a really interesting place, with open bars and I think a roof top terrace. However, the room was very compact, no windows, and a wet room which soaked the bedroom floor, sink was impossible to wash or shave in, but the shower was good, so it was a mixed stay, would I stay again, yes because the location and value for money is superb!

Arrived early and staff was able accomodating and was able to store luggage away to explore the Soho area whilst waiting to check in.

Excellent service from the moment I stepped in, Gary was so lovely and very helpful when checking in. In stayed in queen room and it was nice and quiet the beds were also comfortable.

Wound up not even staying. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Would not support us in finding a suitable room.

It was in the heart of the theatre district, with the Harry Potter show literally a hop, skip & a jump from the hotel front door! We were seeing Stranger Things, which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel (an excellent show!). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious (we had pizzas for dinner and they were very tasty!). Under 12s eat breakfast for free (with a paying adult). I will definitely stay here again as it was positioned perfectly for Leicester Square, China Town, the theatre district and for shopping down Oxford and Regent Streets (a taxi from Waterloo to the hotel was roughly £19).

Overnight stay perfectly situated for soho,Leicester square, Covent Garden. Small room but perfectly adequate. Aircon worked well.

Fantastic stay. A little noisy until quite late on a Sunday but not the hotel’s fault, the pub opposite had entertainment on until 11:30. Breakfast options were limited to flatbreads and continental despite seeing menus for full English dotted around the hotel.
