We were given a unit for disabled. Room conditions were poor: dirty carpet, stained bed sheets, no table, no refrig, no kettle, no cups. "hi-tech" room monitors your movement too much. When i left the room, while my spouse was inside, the system shut the power. my spouse struggled to turn it back on (tried 3 times).

On the plus side, this property is extremely well-located, right at the heart of where a tourist wants to be in Edinburgh and on a very pleasant pedestrian street lined with every sort of restaurant or pub. Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was adequate. However, this was the tiniest, most cramped, ill-designed, and frustratingly inconvenient hotel room we've ever stayed in. We even had bigger rooms in Japan, where some accommodations are so small they are called "coffins!" One person might be comfortable here, but two people absolutely can't get around one another. One has to climb over the other in bed, and climb over the bed to get to a charging port on the wall. No way two people can be in the bathroom at once unless one is in the shower. The only places to put luggage are under the bed, where it's difficult to get to. It was frustratingly uncomfortable. And the carpet stains didn't make us confident about the cleanliness of the floor, although things generally did appear to be clean.

Fantastic location on a quiet street, while still being very central. We didn’t hear any street noise at all. The room was spacious, with plenty of room for two large suitcases. The air conditioning was quite noisy at night, and the breakfast was very basic, so we ended up having breakfast elsewhere. Overall, a great location and a comfortable, spacious room.

Our stay was just okay. Upon arrival, staff lacked hospitality, and the rooms were quite small. Room lighting was confusing, with no seperate ways to light main room vs bathroom. The hotel itself was conveniently located to the city center and included coffee/tea was a plus.
