After reading the reviews I had prepared myself for the worst. I even took a sleeping bag and my own towel. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. The guy at reception was polite and friendly. Yes the hotel is a bit dated but for the price you can’t expect the Ritz. The room was small but clean and tidy. The sink shower and toilet were clean as was all the bedding. The bed was comfortable and there was a TV, kettle with plenty of tea, coffee and milk. There was even a small fridge. Maybe I was just lucky but I can’t really fault the place and for the price it was a bargain. I would definitely book again.

It was surprisingly quiet however there was no parking at all!!!! i was driving around for half an hour before finding a parking space 2 roads over up the other side of the hill which also meant we had to be up before 8 to be ready to get the car out of that spot before 9 am when we was meant to be relaxing

There was no onsite dining, no parking, the tv didn’t work, the balcony was out of bounds (due to safety issues), there were bed bugs in the mattress and the room hadn’t had any updates since the 1980’s by the look of it. The only positive was how close it was to the seafront

Very nice and affordable option in Brighton, worth staying here if you are on a budget. Pros: friendly stuff, sea view, restaurants and bars just a few steps away, clean. Contras: no sound isolation, I could hear everything from the next room, old furniture, no hair dryer, no shampoo or shower gel.

The staff are difficult to talk to over the phone. The rooms are basic but you get what you pay for. The parking is an issue as there is no parking and you have an option to pay £15 to park in zone C for 24 hours. It can be difficult to find a parking space close to the hotel. The shower is useless, it dribbles and is cold, the bed was comfy and. We did not expect anything amazing. The service is questionable as my friend left her house and car keys at the hotel and the staff refused to send them in the post. We had to drive back to Brighton from Essex the following weekend to pick them up. Even when we spoke to them on the phone regarding the keys it was extremely difficult to get them to check the room or even understand what we was asking them to do which was frustrating. It’s a good little hotel if you just want somewhere to lay your head for a night.

There no meals access, bed comfort is amazing and comforting, the internet acess is terrible, the parking acess is also very difficult to parking but part of the this the staff members are nice and chilled. I do request to advance the signal endurance, and change the building to try to have their own parking system. Thank you for your attention and service.

We stayed for two nights and the experience was not that great. The floor was dusty and the towels seem clean but had fibres sticking to the body and face when used. The bathroom lock was not working. The grills in the bathroom are rusty and were not clean.

Well you get what you pay for I suppose. This was the cheapest option for the night in question. I have stayed at Legends Hotel for a similar price before . It is very close. The Ambassador was very shabby and worn out looking. Not particularly clean. Fixtures broken. For a similar price I would definitely chose Legends instead.

Hotel was in a good location, check in was simple but not very welcoming. Room on first opening the door was basic but functional. However, the floor was crumby, there was mold in the bathroom, the shower was so tiny, we were only provided with two small towels for the 3 of us. One pillow each just isnt enough. The single bed was awful, mattress so thin and uncomfortable you could feel the bed frame and it sunk in the middle. And the windows rattled in their frames all night long. Overall, very dated, hugely basic, in desperate need of modernisation and some new furniture.

Communal area: paintwork chipped and tatty; stair carpet was filthy. Room: broken and damaged furniture; 3 lightbulbs not working; TV remote control held together with tape, and some of the buttons didn't work (we were unable to adjust the volume, for example); stained upholstery on chairs; curtains were falling to pieces, and tricky to draw.

The property is very tired and in need of a good clean the shower was in need of updating and the wash basin. The windows need fixing the only good point is that the bedding was clean otherwise we would not have stayed, I certainly would not visit again.

Great location and friendly staff. Unfortunately the signal on the television was very poor so we were unable to watch it (it was late by the time we noticed so we didn't inform reception). Also the room is not very soundproof so we could hear every sound and conversation outside of our room. However, the room is in a brilliant location and close to the seafront, the room was clean and comfortable, and check-in and out was an easy process.

The location was great but the hotel is more a hostel than a hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but the Wifi didnt work properly, the window blew in the wind and make a knocking sound. I managed to fix it so we could sleep. There were tea and coffee but no milk in the room. The TV did not work it only had 2 channels. There was no lock on the bathroom and it was a slide door that didnt close properly. The staff were friendly and welcoming. But you're mainly paying for the location here. Its right on the seafront 2 mintutes from the pier. It needs a lot of work as it is very out dated. Overall if youre not worried about all the mods cons of modern hotels and only want somewhere to lay your head its perfect. No frills. But if youre expecting a nice, modern hotel experience this isnt for you.

Stayed overnight in a twin room whilst attending a music concert with my daughter. The room had no heating, the radiators were off and the portable heater was not working. There was also no hot water in the room so we were unable to shower. We were asked if we wanted to swap rooms but the only available rooms had double beds and were not twin rooms.

Awful. No where to park near by. Room was dirty. Door didn’t even lock!! The pressure in the shower was non existent. All for £70!! Should’ve paid the little bit more to stay somewhere decent!

I appreciate the warm welcome from the receptionist who remembered that I stayed there before and who gave me a discount for comedy. It was great to get the same room as before which met the needs I expressed.

Excellent and you cannot get much closer to being right on the beach! Extremely close to the pier and amenities along the main beach area. Very comfortable bed mattress and quiet room. Within a longer walk to the main Rail / Train Station in Brighton! Very Friendly staff. Simple yet great place and I would stay there again!!

Compulsory ID I wasn't expecting, I thought there was breakfast, and the shower was freezing to just cold. Reading reviews this is not the first time. View was fantastic and they placed me on the ground floor, I was grateful. It seems the double I tried to book originally was available after all. Perhaps the booking system needs updating too. No food in rooms is a strange rule for a place that doesn't serve food. But on the whole this is ok, but overpriced for the facilities. £45-65 would be better.
