When looking at this hotel it looked lovely on this site but when we got there the rooms don't look anything like them. I definitely wouldn't of paid £163 for that hotel. We was placed on the 3rd floor and the lift was out of order. The kettle was rusty. No hairdryer in the room. Only one bedside lamp worked.I asked for a fan because the room was so hot, only window would open. The fan was sent to another room so had to go back downstairs again to get another one which wasn't worth having. The shower cubicle was tiny and looked dirty. The water kept going hot and cold. The staff was nice and the location was good. I tried add photos but it won't let me.

We checked in to find the first two rooms we were offered occupied, 3rd time lucky. Had to ask for towels. Paid for parking permit on the street to find motorbikes didn’t need to pay. Were offered free breakfast because mix up with rooms but had to wait for some to be cooked and the two eggs that were there were congealed and they wouldn’t do anymore. They made the room up the next day but rolled the already used and wet towels up and put them in the bed, so the duvet was damp

This is a budget hotel. You get what you pay for. Overall, the room was fine. It was large with high ceilings. Windows could not be opened. Curtains just about able to close and missing a few hooks! Adequate storage and hanging space for an overnight stay. Enough sockets. Beds: very comfortable with clean linen. Bathroom: clean where it needed to be! Attention to cleanliness, i.e. hoovering could be better! The water pressure in our room was very low. Told receptionist who sent a man up within minutes. Problem could not be resolved so they gave us the use and option of using/moving to another room with a proper shower. Problem solved. Breakfast was until 10 and was buffet style, with freshly cooked items constantly being replenished. It was perfectly adequate with choices of juices, cereals and cooked food. Tea and coffee. Please don’t expect a gastronomic delight, but it really was fine. Lastly, the staff. They were all very friendly, happy, approachable and helpful. Free parking is on road, but a few minutes walk away. I would stay here again.

We had an issue with the room not being clean well after a previous guest, who had left rubbish on the window ledge which left our room smelling very bad of rotting fish. The staff were very apologetic, we was given room spray and had a member of staff clear the rubbish but the smell was still there. I had to use body spray and a bottle of perfume to cope with the smell. Other then that the room was very well laid out and very comfortable. They also had evening entertainment and a nice seating area outside the front of the property overlooking the beach.

The location was excellent, and the staff were friendly. However, the room was small, the bed was too soft, and the shower without half a door. Additionally, I couldn't open the window. The breakfast offered only a full English option, but it was good. There were no day parking tickets available, so I had to pay the full parking rate. It's a good value for the price.

Unfortunately 1st room was dirty / windows were cracked had to ask for different room. Second room was ok but didn't realise until too late that towel rail didn't work. No control over heating in room so was cold & had to complain. Management controlled heating. No way to contact reception from room. Window wall was damp in the morning. Bed uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here. The two members of staff were pleasant & tried to help. We asked for tea bags & milk for room but they had run out. Ran out off the parking permits. We stayed because it was too late to find another hotel & we weren't there long but wouldn't go back. Also upon arrival we were told we had to pay upfront which I was very unhappy about. Think Expedia should take this hotel off their website.

Nice hotel room with excellent views, staff very helpful and friendly , there is a bar and live entertainment which we was unaware of before booking but a nice surprise and also a restaurant which serves meals throughout the day.

Like many post war buildings on Eastbourne seafront, the hotel shows it's age in it's physical state and basic amenities. Cleanliness is excellent and what continues to make the once Majestic still Majestic is the friendly, attentive and hospitable attention of the staff. They work with a smile and, by the way, the breakfast buffet is excellent.

Basic rooms providing all you need from a hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, tea/coffee available and the wifi was good. The furniture and decor is a bit dated but as long as it's clean who cares? Nice welcoming staff on reception too, thank you.

We were very disappointed. Was very unclean in the room, there was a horrible smell and extremely dusty. There was pigeon feathers and a tampon on our floor! Very evident they had not cleaned it. Did not provide breakfast for room with 3 single beds. Said they do daily cleaning but only clean room once during our 3 night stay! Overall terrible experience and will not come again

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The room had a strong mold smell due to visible mold stains on the wall near the bed, which forced me to keep the window open at night. Unfortunately, the window was next to the hotel roof where a group of pigeons had nested, making it noisy and uncomfortable. The kettle provided was extremely old, dirty, and absolutely unsuitable for use. The bathroom conditions were even worse: mold inside the shower box, the originally white shower base turned yellow with age, and the water pressure and temperature constantly fluctuating between too strong/weak and hot/cold, making it an unpleasant experience. The only positive aspect of my stay was the staff, who were very friendly and polite. Apart from that, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.

I was here for the weekend and have to say great hotel. The hotel was bright and welcoming the staff were friendly happy to help. I had a single room with a seaview which both was lovely. The room was clean and a good size room. I will be going there again for my next stay. Great job majestic 👏

The hotel is really run down and needs a good clean. The first room that we was allocated was filthy. The bathroom hadnt seen a cleaner for a while, hairs in the shower, a huge puddle of water just randomly on the floor, no hand soap. We asked to move rooms, and the second room was better but not much. The shower door was broken so water leaked out everytime it was in use, questionable stains on the walls and lamp shades. Just really run down rooms. The lady on reception didnt seem at all surpised that we found the rooms dirty. The place needs a really good deep clean & a lick of paint. We wont be staying here again.

Absolutely disgusting. AVOID. Insects, thick dust, no hairdryer, broken TV with a frayed aerial cable that hasn’t been working in a long time. Black mould in the shower, hairs on the towels and in the dirty warn out carpet. Smells of dust. So grotty and dirty that I left feeling like I needed a wash. Staff said ‘there’s nothing I can do’, manager was apparently on holiday in Spain.

Decided to stay in in was for a extra night and booked the majestic which has newly been renovated and spruced up with a nice new colour scheme wirh the exterior painted Larger thdn expected single romm looking out towards the downs. Very comfy bed and was clean with nice new carpeting unlike the hotel I stayed at the previous 4 nights. Will be re booking and staying here again as I come to stay in Eastbourne 6 times a year

Lovely couple of days and our only disappointment was the noise from road repairs between 11pm and 1am, no double glazing to help dull the noise.

Midweek three night stay, and was among the cheapest in the town. Nothing terrible about my stay, but certainly wouldn’t pay above a £50 for it. Room was in line with booking portal pictures, and has had recent redecoration, albeit with a sometimes sloppy finish. Relative to the price, everything is what you’d expect, cheapest pillows and towels, cheap little tv’s, and cheap ancillaries. Minor annoyances were i) a tv with poor connectivity, only packed up 10 random channels even after retuning ii) mattress springs were shot iii) no lamp in the room, so just main light or darkness. Any complaints? No. Would I stay again? I’d try to avoid it.

The staff were really lovely and very accommodating. The breakfast was hot and buffet style but limited in some aspects but perfectly acceptable. We stayed in room 230 which was a sea view room. I think they are slowly updating the hotel and our room was very pleasant. Unfortunately, we had a problem with the TV which although was sorted out by a member of staff initially proceeded to go back to no signal after about an hour. The hot water in the shower was almost burning and although I tried to turn it down it then went to stone cold. The shower head needed to be replaced too as it wasn’t working properly. Like most of the hotels in the area is no AC in the room so if you work online or digital nomad I will not recommend it during summer season. The rooms get terrible hot, is no a mini fridge so no possibility neither to have a cold drink wile you are in your room. So sad because the ocean view room has a wonderful view but during the day is not possible to enjoy it. Then their Ice machine broke and one of the persons that work in the morning requesting fro Ice is like asking for a free night. Very bad activate I was thinking to extend and Over all good location and nice views. Good place if you come for a vacation and live early in the morning and return late afternoon.

Basic rooms providing all you need from a hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, tea/coffee available and the wifi was good. The furniture and decor is a bit dated but as long as it's clean who cares? Nice welcoming staff on reception too, thank you.

We checked in to find the first two rooms we were offered occupied, 3rd time lucky. Had to ask for towels. Paid for parking permit on the street to find motorbikes didn’t need to pay. Were offered free breakfast because mix up with rooms but had to wait for some to be cooked and the two eggs that were there were congealed and they wouldn’t do anymore. They made the room up the next day but rolled the already used and wet towels up and put them in the bed, so the duvet was damp

Absolutely disgusting. AVOID. Insects, thick dust, no hairdryer, broken TV with a frayed aerial cable that hasn’t been working in a long time. Black mould in the shower, hairs on the towels and in the dirty warn out carpet. Smells of dust. So grotty and dirty that I left feeling like I needed a wash. Staff said ‘there’s nothing I can do’, manager was apparently on holiday in Spain.

Had a fantastic stay at the Majestic Hotel in Eastbourne! The location is perfect right on the seafront with beautiful views and close to the pier. The room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped, and the staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. They upgraded me to a sea view room free of charge which was great! Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Definitely better than most hotels in the area as they have recently renovated the place I believe. Definitely a feeling of faded splendour (though I think that sums up Eastbourne as well). Pleasant enough but not a luxury hotel. It was fine for what we paid (£80 for 2 rooms). The hotel is a ruin. The room we were given was covered in mold. The supposedly beautiful sea view was replaced by dirty, rotting windows. It felt like a slum. Only the bedding looked fresh. After complaining, we were given a room with more favorable conditions.
