Kings Cross Inn Hotel

This is the oddest building layout. I specifically chose it as I’m traveling with a large, heavy case on an extensive trip and this hotel noted it has a lift. I can confirm - it has a lift, but in order to get to it, there are a LOT of stairs. Not only that, but lift does not service all floors. So, in order to get to my assigned floor 4 room, one must go up the stairs to enter the building, down 6 tight stairs to get to the lift, ride up 3 floors, exit the lift and go down 3 stairs only to take two actual steps to then go up 5 more stairs to find yourself on Floor 3. From there, there is another set of double back stairs up to the 4th floor. It is an absolutely baffling maze. For the room itself (a double, room 410), it is basic in every sense. You will feel springs in the mattress, but it is in decent shape. The bathroom was standardly British small, but sufficient. Do bring your own toiletries or pick some up at Boots across the street. There was slight noise in the night, but not enough to keep me awake - and again, you are across from the trains, so it is to be expected. The staff was loath to interact, but polite. Your additional deposit of £100 that they require onsite should be returned in 5-10 business days according to the man at the front desk. TL,DR? Fine for one night if you have no heavy luggage and don’t mind navigating a maze. I am unlikely to stay again.

Very small hallways and many many stairs. Even if you use the elevator you have to use stairs as well. Room was very tight. A/C available and windows opened. Only stayed one night as we were taking the train out first thing in the morning. Close to the train station.

Small room, basic but clean. Excellent price directly opposite London's Kings Cross. Towels a bit on small side. Basic tea and coffee amenities and small fridge. Right above tube so you could hear it slightly up till about 1 am. Beds are spring mattresses and you could feel the springs slightly and a bit too bouncy for me. Noisy air conditioning.

Overall, we had a very good stay here. Even though the hotel is in average condition, our room was kept very clean. The room was not large but had air conditioning, comfy beds, a small fridge, and very good wi-fi. You can get anywhere easily from this location at all times of the day since it is across the street from King's Cross. The staff are responsive and helpful and there is always someone at the front desk. If you are in a room facing King's Cross there is noise, but, except for traffic, it usually tapers off around 11:00 PM. The area is very walkable and there are lots of places to eat and see too. You do need to access some stairs to get to the elevator, so be mindful of that/inquire about assistance.

Great location. Very helpful staff. Basic hotel for getting a quiet sleep. Stairs to navigate. Elevator doesn't service all levels. Very close to transit of all kinds. Restaurants and pubs all within walking distance.

Some rooms can only be reached by taking the elevator and then a few stairs, so not all rooms have direct elevator access. It might be a bit inconvenient if you’re carrying large luggage. The bathroom only has an overhead shower, which is a little less convenient. However, the staff were friendly and polite, which made the overall stay pleasant.

Directly across from the train station which is what I wanted. Great prices. Room was fine, bed was comfy. The walls/floors are thin do you hear everything. The room had a mini-split heat/air conditioner which was nice. The hotel lists as having an elevator but it’s not accessible. You have to walk down ~8 stairs or up ~8 to get to it. It’s like the floors were all split level. This was a little frustrating since I booked intentionally to not have to carry bags up/down but had to anyway. I’d still stay here again though.

We stayed 4 nights, great location. They have lifts but you still need to walk up and down stairs to get to the lifts. Rooms were very small for 4 people. Shower curtain was moldy. Restaurant was available but pictures indicate it’s in the hotel. It’s not, you need to walk through the lobby and down a flight of stairs to get there. Again, we booked for the location which is great, but this place needs a facelift.

So near to Kings Cross, up 5 steps to front door, has a lift but had to go down 5 steps to access. Room very good, small but compact, even a fridge and A/C.

Unsanitary and Unacceptable – Should Not Be Listed on Expedia This was by far the most disturbing and unsanitary hotel stay I’ve ever encountered — and I travel frequently. From the moment we walked in, the room was in an appalling state: chewed gum stuck to both the floor and the ceiling, bed bugs, food smeared on the walls and door frame, blood stains on the window sill, and visible mold throughout the space — including in the shower, garbage cans, and around the room. My young child unfortunately touched the gum on the floor within seconds of entering — a serious health and safety concern. When we raised these issues with the property manager, we were met with deflection and zero accountability. He blamed outsourced cleaning staff and took no responsibility for the conditions. Worse, he refused to issue a refund for our cancellation and showed a complete disregard for even the most basic standards of customer service and human decency. Expedia should seriously reconsider listing this property. It's not just dirty — it’s dangerously unclean, mismanaged, and clearly not fit to host guests. DO NOT BOOK HERE. This hotel is a disgrace on every level — from cleanliness to service to management.

Woke to ants on bed. Room very small and hotel rooms smelt. Bedsheets and pillow unclean. Disappointed as does look as the photos presented . The bar is not on site but is in adjoining property.

The area is convenient for transportation but the room we were initially put in stunk of mildew and sewage, there was evident water damage throughout both the bathroom and sleeping area. The second room was an improvement, however, the bathroom still smelled absolutely horrible, the beds were mostly springs, the air conditioning didn’t work and made a horrible noise. The towels had holes in them and were stained, stains were also on the bedsheets. Additionally, the doors struggled to open, every single time, you’d have to scan the key card multiple times and yank, MULTIPLE times just for it to open. We had a few decent interactions with staff, the gent who changed our rooms was very kind and sympathetic.

Smells of urine and mold. Brown stains on the walls. The staff barely speaks English and they lowkey also smelled bad. Trash bags litter the halls. Should be shut for health safety concerns. Carpets were wet, I think with urine based on the smell. Refused to give a refund. I booked another hotel and ate the cost. It was so bad, it was worth eating the cost. Room was in a basement. The halls are a maze and no elevator. Fire hazard, you might die here

The bathroon in the room is clean but smells not good. Even in the lobby when we are entry and check in, the lobby smells like a dirty toilet, sorry to say that but that is true Thank you

The room is very dirty, the bathroom door is moldy, the ventilation system doesn’t work, and the mirror is not cleaned. There is a lack of basic cleanliness. The only advantage of this hotel is its great location, and that’s the only good thing I can say.

A cheap two night stay £139, had read reviews so expectations were low! First impressions in reception awful. Man on reception not at all welcoming. Verging on ignorant! The lobby carpet is filthy. And needed a Dee clean and hoover. As did all the communal hall carpets. Disgusting. Dreaded seeing the room but was pleasantly surprised to find it acceptable. However, one single bed had a huge dip in it. And the pillows smelt a bit funky! The rainfall shower head went all over! Clearly broken. Had to turn it off to wash then back on to rinse self. The fridge and safe, also air con were useful. The room was fairy clean, in comparison to the reception and hall carpets. We had a room over looking the station. We took ear plugs so didn’t hear any noise. I’m glad I paid a cheap price, would be upset if spent any more. The location was perfect for trains, underground etc. it did the job for two nights as only used it to sleep in as busy out enjoying all London had to offer. However, the place needs a serious clean up! I can’t believe it is 3 star 🌟

Dirty rooms. Dirty staff. Rude and don’t speak English. Absolutely disgusting. Smells throughout the whole property. Mold, mildew, brown stains on the walls. Wet carpets smelling of urine. Staff had a stench to them as well and were rude. Should be deported.

I'm very disappointed that I've paid over a hundred pound for one night in this hotel. This is a very run down establishment. There are paper signs on the walls stuck down with sellotape, to direct you to the rooms. In the hotel room that I stayed in one of the lampshades was damaged, the other lampshade was dirty with yellow stains on it. The bathroom sink in the room doesn't even have a plug. The hotel is so unprofessional, the man on the reception was wearing a fake 'Dior' tshirt under a dress jacket! The bed in the room was very uncomfortable and the worst thing about the stay was the yellow stains on the bed sheets! I really should get a refund. Horrible stay.

The floors were very creaky and the people above us were walking up and down opening drawers way past 2am and we could hear everything. I did email the hotel who replied straight away and addressed the situation so am grateful to them for that.

If you have a room facing the kings cross station, change immediately. The interior windows designed to prevent noise are worthless, and we were kept up until 3 am with people using loudspeakers, playing music etc. plus traffic noise, turned out to be miserable. Would not stay there again without a location guarantee.

Our room is on the lower-ground level, and you can constantly hear people walking on the ground/ main level.

Room we were given was on ground floor so we felt and heard every tube train that ran through the tube route below. We also heard every footstep from the room above so we had very little sleep Weren’t aware breakfast was included as were not told Opened curtains and through the filthy windows we could only see the wall which was about 2 foot away from the window

While there is a lift in the building it only goes to some of the floors which resulted in us having to carry all our bags up at least one flight of stairs. Our room was also right next to the busy intersection and above all of the air conditioning units so was very noisy. And the air conditioning unit was noisy too. While super convenient to the train station I would not recommend the hotel if you want a good nights sleep - unless of course you are able to request a room further from the road.

The floor was squeaky, and the air made a lot of noise throughout the night when on cool cycle. The doors of the rooms slamming was not very helpful especially when you trying to sleep. The beds can do with an update especially when they are forming a sinking hole in the middle. The spring mattress doesn't help when you are trying turn over in the night

The room was in great condition, the check-in was easy and the staff was very helpful. The noise level adjacent to our room, however, on Birkenhead Street, was extremely disruptive, early in the morning, from 6am to 8am. There are street sweepers, garbage trucks and delivery trucks right outside our window on the first floor. It is very loud, and the delivery trucks have metal ramps they lower to the street, then move supplies to unload, creating loud BOOMING sounds. I don't recommend staying at this property, unless you stay in an inside-facing room, not on the street. There are also homeless beggars nearby, who may solicit for handouts.

Hotel was generally clean and comfortable. The lid/seat on the toilet was loose but quickly fixed when I mentioned it to the staff. The room was extremely noisy due to the local traffic and the fact that there was a full pane of glass missing from the sash window. The window did have another sliding window on the inside but didn’t prevent the traffic noise.

Convenient location opposite Kings Cross station with good travel connections. I had a room at the back side - while avoiding the traffic noise in the front, unfortunately on the back side there are multiple exhausts from restaurants below, making a lot of noise and vibrations during various times of day and night and making for a very poor sleep. The room itself was compact but clean, though not very comfortable. Small desk, but no chair. All in all, I wouldn't stay again.

We planned a friend reunion after 3 years apart. We checked the online reviews on this location, as it was a convenient place, close to the train station. Unfortunately the actual rooms looked terrible, we only found out that we supposed to pay a deposit when checking in as a warrant you don't smoke in the room, in the condition that you pay in advance for your booking and the mention of this warranty is in very small cases somewhere in the separate pdf with company policy. Like a disclaimer. Bear in mind that if you pay in advance they have in capital letters the condition that you don't receive your money back no matter what. Classic scam. The room was in terrible condition. Damage dirty walls, scratches all over the floors, rotten sealing in the shower.

Terrible night stay at this hotel with a intermittent drilling like sound coming from the event in the bathroom. This was reported to reception with no action taken or the ability to change rooms. The happen throughout the night and no apology or investigation took place. Terrible customer service. Since reported 3 days ago still no feedback from the manager.

Terrible Experience – Would Not Recommend This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The first room we were given was full of large flies, so we had to request a room change. The second room was in the basement and the hallway smelled strongly of urine. We felt unsafe in the room and decided to leave. We forfeited the charge for the next night and booked another hotel instead. Definitely not worth the money or stress.

Hotel was great very helpful staff

We were unable to attend our stay due to a serious family emergency. When trying to contact the hotel they told us to contact the booking agency, and then the agency told us to contact the hotel. When telling the hotel this they ignored our messages, and calls. There was no proper acknowledgment of our messages or calls.

Clean room, friendly staff, excellent location.

Decent location. Person at the front desk got upset when we asked for a second keycard. Someone elses hair was in the shower. The restroom had a sewage smell coming from it.

The hotel staff are amazing from the moment you check in. The reception staff are amazing. Friendly with great communication very helpful.

Very convenient for an overnight stay across Euston Road from the Kings Cross and St. Pancras train stations. Not fancy, but will suffice if all you want is a place to sleep before onward travel.

Not like the picture. Elevators make no sense. Single room tiny. Lovby dumpy. Desk staff unfriendly. Shouldnt be listed with your company.

The location made the third star! It saw exceptionally close to Kings Cross Station and more importantly, St Pancras Station. London Euston was the next station in a row! There were some terrific eats and dining restaurants (Chinese & Italian, directly below) available including the Lucas Pub with an outdoor quiet Garden Centre, just up the road. The bedroom was VERY small (pokey) for the three of us. The aircon saved us, mixed with fresh air! The noise of fighting crowd rallying, religious criers, and working machinery, wafted up into the room.around the clock!

Proximity to tube and train station was fantastic but along with that comes a great deal of homeless people begging for money and fighting outside of the station so beware, especially at night! The lobby and common areas of the hotel are a bit rough. Our room on the first floor had a double and single bed which were surprisingly comfortable. The floor in the room (faux wood) was severely worn and desperately needs to be replaced. The bathroom, especially the rainfall shower, was the highlight. Best shower ever! Great water pressure and temperature!

You can also get to almost all the attractions in under 15 minutes. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel but walked 9 minutes to Pinner Cafe for an excellent full English breakfast for about £10. It definitely shows its age but I’d stay here every time I come back.

Directly opposite Kings Cross this is very convenient. It is cheap but clean. As somewhere to just sleep it is fine.

This hotel is great for a short stay, like we did, before catching an early train. The location around Kings Cross makes it very noisy.

Great location

The surroundings were very quirky. We had booked a superior room and were told on arrival we had been upgraded. Not sure what to! Our biggest disappointment was breakfast. This was definitely geared to Turkish/Indian cliental. There was very little for us to eat!

No restaurant or bar on site

Hotel is across from St Pancras, very convenient for catching the Eurail to Paris. The room was clean and quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful, they have a storage room behind the office so we did not have to take them up to the room. The room safe did not work, but we felt safe. Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from, but we walked to the best turkish restaurant in London for dinner 15 min away.

Basic room. Poor noise insulation. Very noisy due to proximity to road. Ery narrow corridors. No food options but pleanry of restaurants nearby. 24hrs manned reception.

We were so happy with this Hotel, it's on the really handy location, easy to get anywhere. It was clean, simple, but we had towels, toiletry, coffee,tea, mini fridge, kettle, Cafes bars restaurants nearby.... The bed was so comfortable, and also we could leave our luggage at the safe room before check in for free. Thanks a lot

Rooms were small and facility needs updating. Tiny awkward steps for carting luggage to room. Right across from station convenient for getting around. The restaurant connected was small and not very good

Good size bathroom & shower, clean, lot of tea & coffee, milk & sugar in the room, great location for us near the train station & metro, lot of restaurants & little grocery stores nearby.

Stayed here for 1 night. Hotel was adequate for our needs but room needed some tlc. The mattress and bedding were old, worn and uncomfortable. Hotel advertises having a bar and restaurant on site, this is not actually true, access to the restaurant is outside of the hotel and around the corner! I would not consider this a bar in any way, shape or form. We like to have a nightcap after a day/night walking and exploring a City, so this was very inconvenient for us. The receptionist was not at all welcoming when we checked in, no smile, minimal conversation that was barely audible. New bedding and friendlier staff would go a long way to making this place better. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is fabulous for exploring London or if you are getting a train from Kings Cross/St Pancras whether travelling internationally or otherwise.
