This is a great property if you need a little extra space and have a dog. The hotel is located right by an off-leash dog park. Extremely convenient! The staff was so friendly too. Our room was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this property next time you are in Durango.

Confusing when two Holiday Inn properties are within .5 miles of each other and if you are not aware of that or familiar with the area finding the correct motel is a challenge. RENAME one of them. Checkin was a bit crazy....there was a clerk just standing there while at least 4 groups were trying to check in. I finally asked her if she was working and a few minutes later she opened up. I was also upset about the "bogus" $10 parking fee when doing the parking myself and when I voiced my opinion she waived the fee. After that she was very friendly. Appreciated the hot tub and that it was functional but it was like a lukewarm bathtub. That part disappointing. Beware of the "Polar Express" weekends unless you are participating...a bit of a zoo.

The hotel is in good condition, and the location is excellent—right next to downtown and close to the train station, which is very convenient. I have two complaints, though: they charge a $10 parking fee, which is surprising since I’ve never had to pay for parking at any other Holiday Inn. Also, the hot water isn’t very hot, even when turned to the maximum temperature.

Not one but both elevators weren't functional. The odds of this are near zero unless their maintenance was very neglected. We had to take the service elevator. I had to pay $10 just to park and breakfast was also $10/person, which I skipped. There were inadequate towels for 2 adults and 2 children. Overall, very overpriced for a poor experience.

One elevator was broke. There were no water bottles for sale and we arrived late. The front desk associate was very accommodating and friendly. My 90 year old mother in law was assigned a room clear on the opposite end of the floor and we had specifically requested her to be across the all or as close to our room as possible when we made the reservation and had to get a new room. It turned out well. Thank you

The room was much better than the week prior, but there were two giant HUMAN hair balls on the flooring and the floors were dirty. The shower also had some black mold in a few small areas. The couch was very raggedy for a supposedly "newly remodeled" room as advertised. The bed was nice though and everything else was ok.

We only stayed 1 night but the stay was great. The front desk girl (I didn’t get her name) was so nice and bubbly. She made the check in process easy and so comfortable. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Would definitely stay again next time we travel to Durango.

The room was dirty, they did not clean the floors , nor the toilet and the frige had a smodge sticky pop that spilled on the floor by the bed so it was all sticky. There was bugs by the window and food crumbs in the sitting room. The hotel had a good remodel but it looks like the cleaning crew is not doing a good job. did a good rekodel

I didn’t like: finding previous guest’s panties somewhat under the bed, especially because I thought I’d dropped a clothing item, I didn’t like the carpet in the room with melted areas and old worn appearance, I didn’t like being told it was $10 for parking and multiple spaces used by trailer parking close to the entrance, I didn’t like finding a long hair on my sheets. The women who checked me in was very nice and personable.

I checked in and for a room on the second floor. I immediately noticed that all the surfaces in the room were dirty. The floor hadn't even been swept, and there were stains from soda, dirt, mud, and crumbs on the floor. The toilet still had fecal matter on the bottom and around the rim of the toilet. I called the front desk and asked to switch rooms. There was only one other room available, so I was switched to the ground floor. To my surprise, the floor was completely dirty and it had stains all over. To top it all off, there were ants crawling all over the floor. I called the front desk and they said there were no other rooms available and they couldn't even refund my money because I had paid through Expedia and not the hotel. The whole experience was awful. I doubt anything was even cleaned in either room except the beds made.

Such a beautiful location in Durango! We’ve stayed at this chain before and never ever any issues. But this time, I was pretty disappointed. Our room for some reason has so much random hair everywhere. Our hotel room was 407 and it was right next to housekeeping’s area where they have supplies. Our room looked like honestly the room house keeping or staff would go into to lounge around on break then fix the bed. Our sheets like I mentioned had different colors of hair and different lengths of hair and color. The bed sheets had lots of lint all over the bed. In the bathroom, the walls had lots of hair behind the toilet and hair in corners of the room. Pretty disappointed. We were moved rooms however when we unfolded a blanket- there was a large toenail in the sheets. Not sure if staff was doing this purposely or they just don’t throughly clean.

Room wasn't fully cleaned, tv was messed up by previous stay, fireplace was messed up, finding the controllers was a search plus the batteries were dead. Front desk doesn't answer the phone. And the "Restaurant Breakfast"... Complete garbage, DO NOT PAY FOR IT, it's the same food as the usual free at every other holiday inn, except not kept up on or cooked properly. What's pathetic is they watch you search for nothing. Then the parking fees... No reason one bit for them Overall pick a better property actually in town across the river where there are amenities.

This was a convenient location. The staff seemed pretty nice and efficient. The room was dirty though. There was a very potent room deodorizer that was hard to tolerate. The showerhead was absolutely terrible.

Me and my family recently stayed at the Holiday Inn for 2 nights. We arrived 45 minutes early to Durango but were told they weren’t running early so they didn’t let us check in early. When we finally were able to check in at 3:00 we went to our room and saw that the carpet by the bed had some HUGE burn marks and looked pretty worn. We let that go as we were not trying to make a big deal out of it. The second night we were there we were all in the room relaxing as a man just came in our room asking if our “TV was working”? He didn’t knock or declare who he was. I went down to the lobby to go ask if they had a maintenance man checking TV’s and they confirmed he was legit. I told them that was unprofessional and unacceptable for a man to just walk into a room without knocking not announcing himself. I have a 14 year old daughter that could have been in there by herself. The whole experience with Holiday Inn was not very pleasant.

Hotel check in employee was rude. DDid not greet us. Never told us about the breakfast in the restaurant. Had to come back down 3 times to get key cards that actually worked to get us in our room. TV did not work in the room. Additional charges on credit card after check out.

When we were checking in on time we were told our room would be ready in 15 minutes, we had to wait over 45 minutes. When were checking the gentleman that was checking us in charged our cards even thought we obviously paid through a 3rd party, he failed to give us our parking passes and our breakfast tickets, he was rude the whole time he was checking us in. However, the manager lady the next morning was more than helpful in clearing up the credit card issue and breakfast tickets. The room itself was very nice and clean. I would totally recommend this hotel.

Check-in on Tuesday afternoon was very slow. We were passed from one person to another, which took up a considerable amount of time. The clerks obviously didn’t care. That night, dogs were barking in an adjacent room. My wife called twice to report the issue, I called once. Nothing changed. When I went to the front desk the next morning to register my complaint, I was told the customer had left two dogs in the room unattended, but the staff could not enter the room. Try to figure that one out. I was told they called animal control, but they could not come out until 10 am the next morning. If the staff could not access the room as I was told, how was animal control going to get in? Bottomline, the hotel ignored the very clear needs of its guests, which resulted in a sleepless night for my wife and I. Having traveled extensively for over 50 years, we have never encountered a situation like this. It is a poorly managed hotel that does not care a snit about its guests.

I liked the bunk bed option for my kids but I wish it would have been more accessible to the downtown. Route 160 interchange makes walking to downtown a hassle but it’s only a couple minute drive

Booked by accident, we always stay at the other IHG Holiday Inn Express Downtown in Durango due to proximity of downtown. We liked the staff and the room was nice. The restaurant has room for improvement but otherwise it was all good.

Property was great as was the pool and bar. Room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant is another story. Out of food items. The cook waited until everyone’s food came out to tell us he was out of one of the meals we ordered. Then when ordering a replacement order of chicken…all 4 strips came out raw in the middle. The Bartender DID do his best to make it right and he is appreciated! Definitely need a little adjustments here and there.

The hotel is great, just lots of extra taxes that pile up, beware (parking, city, county, state, lodging, misc, breakfast, etc.). Also, in the past, the restaurant was great, but this time it was clearly understaffed. Our dinner order took over an hour to get. The staff was nice, just the restaurant needs more staff.
