Wanderlust Inn

The Barracuda suite was spacious and clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. No on site employees but the email / text communication was informative. There is a suite above this one that makes the ceiling creak a fair amount. The water pressure is good in the full bath. Pool table is a little worn, the pool cues had some wobble but for a private table in the suite it was great. The washer dryer / mud room entrance was handy. Especially for a beach vacation. Might want to run the washer before the 9pm quiet hour. Cute self serve breakfast restaurant next door had good food and nice staff. Honestly wish I could have stayed more than two nights.

Loved the self-catering aspect and the generosity of the amenities in the laundry/business center. Pizza restaurant on one side and another restaurant on the other were so convenient. No noise from street or other guests. Hope to stay there again!

I had a great stay at the Wanderlust Inn! It was clean, well lit, a quality TV. There was some foot traffic outside but it wasn’t too loud. Parking was easy and it felt safe. I did have a dog with me, and they have a great area in the back with bags and enough space for a quick walk around. The grass area does flood when it rains though and didn’t have the right shoes. I would stay again on my next trip.

The room was really nice and spacious. Beds were comfy. Parking was sparse. I felt lucky to get into a space fairly close to the room.

We were quite pleased with the location aswell as the amenities. Our only concern was the fact that we had a Honda CRV and it was difficult to park it due to the design of the hotel metal beams projecting out. If we had a smaller car it would not pose a problem, at any rate the staff on call was very prompt in assisting us with other parking options near by and to me this was worthy of note. We would certainly stay there again.

Close to beach access. A couple of decent dining options next door to the property. Self-service access to extra towels, board games, and laundry machines. Good value for the price.

Our stay was good. We were in room #2, Captains Quarters. The property was nicely updated and clean. We enjoyed the kitchen a lot, there was a variety of cookware and bakeware as well as utensils available to cook for a large family. However it was tight for two people to cook in the space. The site listed the room as having 2 bathrooms, this was a bit misleading as there was one full bath and one half bath. Only one shower for 7 people was a bit rough but we made it work. The bathrooms were clean but there was some mildew in the caulking. The upstairs loft contained one double bed and a small sofa bed. It was very hot and muggy upstairs when we arrived and there are no windows, and no thermostat upstairs, but fans were provided. It was cool when we were there, around 60 most days, and the loft cooled down at night, most nights. There were also no outlets by the bed in the loft. The dining room table seats 6 so if you have a large party some will have to sit at the bar, this was fine for meals but a bit more difficult when playing games as a family. The living space is quite small. There is free onsite laundry which was very helpful. The laundry area contained a ton of games and puzzles to borrow as well as extra towels, toilet paper, etc. This was very nice and made us feel welcome and at home. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the location was great, and it was a very good value for the price.

What a gem! We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and nicely decorated this place is. We did laundry and inside the laundry area there are games and books to borrow. There is also a business center with a printer, coffee station, microwave popcorn packets, paper plates, cutlery, extra trash bags, and towels. They even provide laundry detergent tabs and dryer sheets to go along with the free to use washer and dryer. Room itself was well stocked with everything one would need. Highly recommend!

Parking lot is horrible very tight no room for full size truck even a normal size vehicle struggle to move around

Great hotel for the price. Very clean, all the essential amenities, and you can always get more from the laundry / supply room. Centrally located between all the main shops in ocean shores and an easy walk or drive to the beach. Only con is that the parking situation isn’t always easy.

I would say the reviews and images are very misleading on Expedia—the property is very old, outdated, and not so clean. There were like five flies in the room last night and we were so grossed out that were very worried about bed bugs. The price is low but the fees were too much—making this stay really disappointing. I do not recommend anyone to stay here if they’re looking for a comfy, clean and safe place.

The owners were very responsive and accommodating. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and newly renovated. We also appreciated having access to Wi-Fi and TV streaming services in the room. The location was great as well; within easy walking distance to shops and the beach. Overall, great place for a weekend ocean getaway!

We were a little cautious staying at this self-service property, but it’s one of the best properties we’ve ever stayed in. The room and bed was very clean and comfortable. A Roku was already connected to the tv and the drawers under the tv were filled with board games. The location of the hotel was nice as well. Everything, was pleasantly within walking distance of our room. We did experience some issues with noisy neighbors and a touchy door lock, but nothing major. The caulking of the tub in the bathroom needed replaced and we founded traces of black mold under the sink. Even so, we would absolutely stay at this hotel again.

Due to the age of the property, there was an old, musty smell.

Found what looked like small blood stains on the sheets after I had slept in it.

The floor was dirty needs a good mop! Wipe with paper towel for a few inches was very dirty!

We walked into the room, took one look and left for another hotel. The smell overwhelmed both of us. The room didn't appear to be anything like the photos presented. Lost over $500.00 on the room, but there was no way we would have felt comfortable staying. Live and learn. It's no wonder there are no on-site employees.

Pros: Providing microwave, hair dryer and disposable cups. Easy check-ins, excellent customer service via call/text. Convenient parking - we parked directly in front of the room on ground level. Cons: There is no air conditioner and the fan in the room is quite dusty. The wireless charger and the charger ports from the desk lamp are not working.

Misleading ad, made it look like a cabin style place on the beach, but was a renovated motel. However, once in the room, it was very nice, spacious and clean. Main issue was the noise from outside, tons of loud talking and traffic noise from the main road in town. About a 10 minute walk to the beach.

We stayed in unit #6 — it had 3 beds across 2 rooms and 1 bathroom. It looked even nicer than advertised! The space was clean and comfortable, with white sheets, a mini refrigerator, a big table, a TV, and a coffee maker. The location is great — just cross Oceanside Boulevard and you're right at the beach. There are several places nearby for breakfast and dinner, plus two ice cream shops within walking distance. There’s even a pizza place and a rental spot where you can get electric bikes for the beach. One minor downside was the thin walls — in the evening, we could hear people talking in the next room. But it wasn’t a big deal, and leaving the TV on with some relaxing music helped cover the sound. Another issue is the parking situation. It doesn’t seem like there are enough spaces for at least one car per room. Parking spots should be clearly numbered so each guest can park in front of their room. TO THE OWNER: The shower curtain rod is not stable. It fell on my husband's head when he pulled the curtain open. Please have someone fix it as soon as possible to avoid further accidents. Thank you. Great value and location — we enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the Wanderlust Inn. Check in was simple, the room was well-renovated, and the beach/restaurants etc. were so close! We were able to ditch the car and walk everywhere. The room became quite warm and stuffy, so we appreciated having the fan, but A/C wouldve been better. We would stay here again, especially for the affordable price.

We arrived about 1 hour earlier than the check in time, but the staff were able to get us in early. The room was very clean and comfortable. Wifi was good and bed was comfy. We had a full kitchen that was well equipped. Bathroom was spacious with a great shower! Highly recommend.

This room is great! It was clean, modern, and easy to access with a code. Great area close to lots of amenities.

This property is convent and walkable. My issue is the beds. Two years in a row I have stayed here and both years the bed has been horrible. This year it was worse. I awoke on the last day and could barely walk. I don’t have a bad back so this was a shock. But then I recalled how it was the year before as well. Needless to say I There will not be a third time for me.

Easy check-in, email sent with door code. Room was very clean and homey. I had room #4 with a king and queen bed. The king bed was very soft and not comfortable, the 2nd night I slept in the queen and it was much more comfortable. King felt like an older bed with a topper to make it more comfortable but it was way to soft and you really sunk into the bed.

The bathroom fan in #3 doesn't work, but #9 is fine.

Wanderlust Inn is overall great. They have a contactless front desk which caused a hiccup when checking in. Because we reserved through Hotels.com, we did not receive the check-in message from the Wanderlust itself with our room code. We called the assistance phone number of the hotel on the front door and were immediately helped into our room with no issue. The room was clean and had all the amenities advertised. There was some leftover food left in the refrigerator from the previous guests, but no smell or other issues. Overall, very satisfied.

This is a super cute property and the rate was very reasonable. Looking through their guidebook I could see that their ownership or management company is offering a great product and I am sure all their properties are fun and adorable. The property itself was great. The only reason we haven’t booked here again, in our subsequent trips to Ocean Shores, is that the communication was not good with the initial contact when we booked our room. We book via Expedia often and have never run into quite this situation, but after paying when we were on our way to the town but a few hours away still, they called me and said that they needed a deposit because my card was a “pay card” and not a traditional credit card. I didn’t have the money for the deposit and it wasn’t mentioned on Expedia when I booked. I was offended during the exchange when the person said “I bet you don’t even work for that company you are just a contractor” and I asked him to cancel but he said he couldn’t because they had already collected the money and he ended up accepting a lesser deposit and we ended up coming anyway. I understand they are concerned about protecting their investment, but he made what should have been a fun little romantic getaway on the cheap into a stressful trip because he wouldn’t cancel the reservation and he took all the money I had set aside for food in the deposit and sucked all the fun out of it. Such a shame bc it’s a really cute place.

I never received an email from Expedia with room number and door code. I had to call office but everything worked out. I would have been SOL if Wanderlust didn’t provide me this extremely important info my outgoing phone call and CC was already billed. Hopefully this was a one-time error. Love the room and staff was every helpful and kind.

Had an amazing stay at the wanderlust. The 1 bedroom suite was perfect. Could easily walk all around town. Not far from the beach. Super helpful staff text line. Super clean.

Very nice place to stay. There is no one on the property and if and when you do have to contact them they don't respond until the next day.

I would definitely stay here again. Check-in is done remotely which was new to me but it was seamless and they were very responsive. Keurig coffee and real half-and-half creamer was great to have in the room. Super convenient location. Great price. Comfy beds. No complaints here. Thanks!

We had a lovely stay over the weekend. The location was perfect! We were able to walk to just about everything. The hotel wasn't super fancy, but the price was right and it was better than expected! We enjoyed the contactless check in/ out. Having a microwave and fridge was very convenient too. The newer renovations were also nice. Id definitely consider staying here again. Thank you!

It was a great location right next to the beach, dining, and shops. There were no front desk everything done on line but the housekeeper that was there was super helpful and all the instructions that were left was easy to understand. The Inn felt comfortable and clean

Old facility, only enough coffee for one night. We stayed for three. Same for towels. No restaurant . No circulation (i.e., No ceiling fan or air conditioner and no way to open the window a limited distance, since it was on the ground floor). No broom and dustpan to sweep up any sand (this facility is at Ocean Shores- a very sandy beach area). Very small room.

Beds great, somewhat funky in a good way, keurig, mini frig, lots of pillow, great value, immediate hot shower and free parking. Plus pizza place next door and walking distance to convention center and beach. Bring your own beach chairs and blankets.

It was easy to check in, the room was beautiful and had close access to the beach and restaurants!
