Here’s my view. Staff are all lovely. Great location, actually perfect. Just over the road from St Pancras, King’s Cross and Euston. So easy to get around. If you’re staying in dorms bring eye masks and earplugs and you’ll sleep well. You have to pay £3 for a towel. Hot water free from the bar on request. Clean comfortable beds. A little shelf at the bunks would be great, to put your things on. There’s cages under the beds for belongings but you need to bring a lock and key. Open all hours so very convenient for a snack/drink at night. Happy hour 5-8pm. Busy road so feels ok at night for a single woman

Great location. Main drawback is noise from the street traffic, which truly is horrible, impossible to sleep, I suspect the windows were not fit for purpose... Also, no self serve kitchen as one would ecpect from a hostel...

After leaving a hotel booking too late and all the prices going up, i booked in to this hostel. First time in a hostel. This was so much cleaner and more comfortable than any hotel ive stayed in in the past 12 months! My only issue was the shower drain was slow, so you ended up standing in a pool of water. But other than that i was impressed

I stayed here as I had an early train from Euston in the morning and wanted to get some sleep before going back to Edinburgh. The room was clean and the bunk was surprisingly comfy, with good bedding provided. The room leaked a lot of noise in from the outside though and it was lucky I had earbuds/earplugs to drown out most of the noise - otherwise I wouldn't have got any sleep at all, due to the constant sirens and traffic outside. I enjoyed getting a coffee at the place, before my train. Staff were very good with a quick check in and check out. I would come and stay here again, if I was stuck and/or needed to sleep by Euston or Kingscross station for an early train.

My wife’s response when we walked into the room was, “ At least it’s a step up from a hostel.” I’m not sure it was. The staff were super nice, but the room was a dump. The heater did not work. The bed was a 4 inch piece of foam covered in plastic on a steel frame. Pieces of the ceiling were missing. I have no idea how this had such high ratings.

Overall it really is a great place to stay at. Spacious room, great location, staff is kind and helpfull... The only thing that is not ok is that it is extremely hot in the room, especially when you have a top bed, as the fans are only helpful for the bottom beds...

I’ve been here a few times over the last 12 months or so and have always found Kabannas a great place to stay. The staff are wonderful, always polite and happy to help. Breakfast: Oat milk is supplied if you ask for it as it is not out on the counter. There’s usually a good choice of teas including fruit and peppermint but this was the first time there was only caffeinated tea. I do usually carry my own Rooibos.

I lost money on the room etc. I booked a stay for New Year's Eve plus a couple days. When I returned to the hostel after a New Year's party a male roommate they placed in the room was very ill. I explained to the male working at the reception that the man was not well and was coughing bad etc.I also asked to change rooms. The receptionist said there were no beds and that if I wanted to change rooms I had to completely check-out before 10am and that I could not check-in until after 4pm. Despite the expected rain and all the stores closed there would be nowhere to go. I had no choice but to lose money and leave.
