Beach was disgusting, filled with seaweed. Water was full of it too. The pools were very nice and evening entertainment was great. Very friendly and great service throughout the resort. The food is average at best and the buffet was closed for lunch all week, despite that it was supposed to be open. The food at the buffet is some of the worst of any resort I've been to in the past 4 years. Lots of stewed everything. The Italian and French restaurants were good, but not great. The drinks were everywhere and great! Overall a good value if you are not wanting to go in the ocean much or enjoy the beach, there are better options.

Beautiful clean property. Beach was clean and beautiful! Staff worked tirelessly all hours of day/night to make sure everything was immaculate for the guests. Great food and drinks. Mostly friendly staff. Pool bartenders were not the friendliest. The 2 exceptions were Leo and Janser (at the Abyss Bar). Janser went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we wanted and needed, with a smile on his face the whole time! They were true assets!

The Xhale pool/rooms need major upgrade. They feel outdated & for being a “VIP”, the Xhale pool felt overcrowded often. The entire staff was great until checkout time. We had a 7:45 time scheduled for them to take our luggage to the lobby because our airport driver was to arrive at 8:15. At 8:10, our luggage was still not in the lobby. We had to walk all the way from the lobby to the Xhale lounge & get them to give us a room key again to collect our luggage from the 4100 building & wheel it all the way to the lobby at 8:20, 35 minutes past our scheduled luggage pickup time. I had to stay in constant communication with my driver so ensure he didn’t leave. Food was excellent. Staff was excellent, everyone accommodating & friendly. The SPA could use some work. 1 tiny sauna & steam room that doesn’t feel relaxing cause there’s always a group right behind you waiting to go next. Same with the cold plunge & indoor pool. SPA felt like an ushered experience & not relaxing.

I absolutely loved this resort! Our stay was fantastic. We stayed in a second-floor room facing the pool and it was totally worth the upgrade. The staff and the service at this resort was excellent! A lot of the staff members are high energy, super accommodating and friendly, making you feel comfortable and ready to enjoy a good time. The concierge is excellent as well, sending you the daily itinerary each morning with all activities and food options for the day. There is so much to do, there is almost no reason to leave the resort. The only drawback for me personally was the amount of vendors on the beach. As long as you tell them you're not interested, they'll back off. But there are plenty of them on the beach, and only on the beach. There are no vendors around the pools or any other area around the resort. Overall, we had an extremely pleasant stay at Breathless and we would totally come back and recommend others to visit.

Beautiful, very clean resort. Loved the 2nd swim up bar!!!….spent most of our days at it. We only wished it was open later than 6:00!!! Downfall was that we felt ALL of the staff were expecting a tip.

When we arrived the room wasn’t completely clean, the sheets and covers had staaind. The bathroom toilet wasn’t fully cleaned and the furniture in the room and bathroom was noticeably wormed. Two of the restaurants out of 7 were closed. You had to constantly get up and get your own beverages at the pool.

My room wasn’t clean properly it had used water bottles that was left in the room and my room didn’t smell fresh also my swim up room wasn’t private it was located where everyone met at to swim and drink. Also there was someone boxer on the patio ..Everything was just slow and annoying and it was my birthday.also the place has so much mosquitoes .They over book my butler Alexander so he didn’t have much time for me, but he tried to make to make up for it he was nice person.Lucy the concierge they decorated my room beautifully I loved it, but at the end they upgraded me to a master suite which was nice and clean and gave me a cabana free of charge on the beach. Didn’t really get top shelf, liquor and people came up on the beach trying to sell your stuff. I couldn’t wait to check out and go back home. I’ve been at a breathless before, and this was the worst breathless I’ve ever been to in Punta. Canta four wasn’t good service wasn’t good. Definitely not a five star hotel. I will give it a two.

Beautiful property with a great party atmosphere, but also quiet areas if so chosen. Our room did have a wet/musty smell. I had to wash all the clothes we brought when we got home. Even the ones that were not used because of the smell.

Rooms were nice, clean and spacious. Staff was. Wet attentive and pleasant. Our room with the swim up pool was great! Especially being the servers would come and take drink orders from us being we were very close to bar. Just wish they didn’t allow people to smoke in the pool as many guests were very inconsiderate dropping their ash and cigarette butts in the pool and leaving them on the edges of the pool making the pool area appear not so clean. Other than that, our stay was great. We would go back for sure.

I was in the swim up king room and it was spacious and clean. The front desk staff are kind but does not speak that good of English. The bell boys are nonchalant and kind of rude. They act as if they do not want to be there. Spoons buffet food is a 5/10. There is a lot of options but no flavor. Go to the smaller restaurants if you are able the food is much better! The music selection is like 5 Spanish songs and 2 urban songs. The drinks are good but not strong at all. The layout of the hotel is easy to navigate and very spacious.

The hotel was fine. Aging property but well kept. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable but the rooms were so loud, you could hear everything outside and in the hallways. I've stayed at other resorts like this and this was definitely the least quiet building I've stayed in. The food was ok, plenty of offerings but only mid quality. They did have a local food section in the buffet which was cool. The best this about the resort was the phenomenal staff/service! Everyone working there was great. Word of caution to those who are looking for an adult only property... This resort has a sister property for families next door. The adults of that resort can use the bars, clubs, pools at Breathless. The problem is the "adults" are young teenagers with fake IDs staying with their families next door. They invade the resort about 10pm and are loud and really drunk and totally take over the night club and run round the facility. And pool club in the day. The night club is like a mess frat party... We ended up talking to several of the chaperoning parents and they said they picked the resort next door purposely so their little kids could do the water park and their big kids (highschoolers) could have a good time with access to Breathless. So technically NOT adults only...

Terrible experience. I checked out in just a few hours after checking in. The customer service was non-existent and the rooms are very dated especially for what they cost. I booked Xhale swim up room that’s actually not a swim up room at all. It’s just a pool in front of the room but not at all connected which constitutes as false advertisement. The staff seemed very lack luster and the overall experience was dry and very underwhelming.

We were charged for an upgraded room that was still a standard room and the TV never worked. I’m a person that need a TV to sleep so I woke up frequently. When I called, they changed the TV and still couldn’t get it to work. The next day. Someone else came through something and it worked for a little bit but that’s it. The room I was in the refrigerator stopped working. The rain somehow got into my room and near the lamp which could have electrocuted me! The walls were warped from the water. The floor had water all over near the outlet and door. The next room they put me in the ceiling fan didn't work. When i asked about some sort of compensation the lady gave me a bogus email address for the supervisor. The birthday trip from HELL!! They did make changes but the other room was super noisy from the DJ which some people would love but not me. Also I could hear my neighbors running water. 2/10 and the staff was quite dismissive. I had high hopes and was let down.

let me state that I travel often to these kinds of resorts and this is my fifth time in the Punta Cana area. I felt as if the rooms were in need of updating specially in the bathroom area. Some of the patch jobs through out the years like caulking, painting, tile work was subpar. The room would be cool through the day but at night, in the middle of the night it would get warm. This happened every night. Then, I could hear all commotion outside from music to people talking, yelling in the hallways. This went on until 4AM most nights. The walls and doors are paper thin. Our room was near the "Party" pool which would host daily music and activities which was fine during the day unless you are a day time napper and one night it went on until 11PM. In your room, you hear every noise outside. I heard people talking, yelling for long periods of time in the hallways which would keep you up at all hours of the night. During one specific night, at 3AM, i heard yelling and partying and i figured it was in the hallway but no, it was from the room across meaning even from room to room you can hear the noise. There is no restaurant unless you are part of the club membership to go and sit beachside only the dinner portion at one of the restaurants. The rest of the restaurants are located in The buffet area which also did not look nice. There was nothing special about the restaurants with the exception of the French one. Overall 5/10

Our stay was great. Daniel at the pool bar went above and beyond and just fun. The one complaint I have is the lack of refreshing towels and washcloths. We requested those while we were at the pool and when we returned 3 hours later still no towels and washcloths. I contacted our guest concierge and was told they confirmed they had delivered those to our room. We found someone in the hallway cleaning rooms and asked for those. We were told we had to contact guest services. It was a struggle trying to get essentials for a shower.

Accommodations & Cleanliness: The room was spacious, very clean, and well-kept. The staff ensures the whole resort is immaculate. A couple of minor issues: some outlets in the room didn't work, and the tiled floor was extremely slippery when wet (a risk after pool time, so be careful). Service & Tipping: The staff was universally friendly, attentive, and helpful. However, guests must be prepared for the strong tipping culture here. We felt compelled to tip for every small service and easily exceeded our budget. Budget accordingly! Dining & Access Frustrations: Food quality was inconsistent. The only negative comment is that I did not appreciate our check in being delayed by their time-share sales person trying to schedule a meeting for their sales pitch. Overall, I ended up having a good time at this resort, but the check-in experience definitely started things off on the wrong foot. At check-in, there was an issue with my payment. The front desk agent swiped my card multiple times and told me the charges did not go through. However, the charges actually posted across all of my banks, and I was told I still needed to pay again in order to check in. This resulted in me paying twice and having to wait for a refund, which was very inconvenient and stressful after traveling. Breathless promotes itself as a luxurious beach resort, but my experience was far from what was advertised. The location is quite remote—over 70 minutes from any city area—and once you arrive, you’re essentially trapped since Ubers aren’t allowed into the gated community. The beach was disappointing, covered in dark brown seaweed with a strong sulphur smell, none of which was mentioned beforehand. The staff was generally unfriendly, and the service left much to be desired. For example, it took three days and multiple requests to have the tub cleaned after finding leftover hair from previous guests. The Expedia concierge was also unhelpful, communicating only via a single WhatsApp message. The food was the biggest letdown: bland, repetitive, and lacking variety, especially if you’re staying for more than a day. Even basic requests, like a bottle of water at the restaurant, were denied, with staff insisting only on the water served in jugs. The only highlight was the drinks—they were tasty, though served in very small cups, so I’d recommend ordering two at a time. If you’re looking for a nice beach, I suggest heading to Macao Beach, 30-40 minutes away, where the sand and water are much cleaner. Lastly, avoid the hotel’s shopping service. They took us to a tourist trap where prices were outrageous ($20for a magnet). Overall, I was extremely disappointed and will not be staying at any Breathless resort again. Hyatt should do better.

Pools were nice but it didn’t appear that they cleaned around them as the same floats, slippers and pants were on two chairs for 3 days until I threw them away. Staff were friendly. Food options and quality were great. Ocean has a lot of seaweed but that’s not within anyone’s control but good to nite if the ocean is why you go!

The only thing that I did not care for was the fact that they did not provide shuttles buses to and from the airport. I had to find my way in an uber to get to the resort and I felt very uneasy about that. Especially since there was a language barrier. I would have paid for the shuttle bus but I would have felt safer knowing that the resort sent the driver.

We stayed for five days in June at this resort. We had Xhale Club Junior Suite Swim up king. As you can see from photos of property its not really a swim up room. It has a porch that you can walk to the lazy river which connects all these rooms. We did like that we can swim up from our room to the Xhale Club area. Check-in process was quick and easy once we checked into room we noticed several things that needed attention and they addressed them quickly. These where minor maintenance things as the room are ok but run down. Food on the property was great we really liked the Coquette French restaurant. They had duck and other unique items you can only get at that restaurant. The party pool was always fun had good music and lots of interesting people there. Unfortunately, the beach was covered in seaweed. It is strange since the other side of the DR on Caribbean Sea did not have seaweed. Even beach named Playa Macao did not have seaweed; could be how the currents were flow at that beach. Playa Macao is only 15min from this resort so if you want use beach go there. Overall it was a good experience but we would not go back due to property was older and beach. Service there was great and everyone was friendly.

Drinks at the lobby bar in Dreams were great! Cristian was a good bartender. Drinks in the lobby bar at Breathless were terrible. Need better bartenders. Overall a 4.4 stay.

Overall the place is nice and beautiful the food however not so good, some food was stale or under seasoned. however this place is entertaining the staff is nice the place and the room is clean. 7/10

Restaurants were all great , probably one of the best foods we’ve ever experienced on a AI. Areas in Hotel well maintained. Great coffee shop ! Great room ! Only if they would play other music ! ? Same music of activities in club , and every night ! Is like a pre determined playlist , dam ! Employees were attentive and friendly. French restaurant, Intl Culinary and Japanese rest must do. We would go back.

I was in the swim up king room and it was spacious and clean. The front desk staff are kind but does not speak that good of English. The bell boys are nonchalant and kind of rude. They act as if they do not want to be there. Spoons buffet food is a 5/10. There is a lot of options but no flavor. Go to the smaller restaurants if you are able the food is much better! The music selection is like 5 Spanish songs and 2 urban songs. The drinks are good but not strong at all. The layout of the hotel is easy to navigate and very spacious.

Loved how beautiful and safe this property was. There were many activities and things to do, really enjoyed that many pools, and amazing hospitality that all of the staff had. Everyone was so eager to help you with your needs! My room had a tad bit of a mildew like smell, & the food could have been more seasoned. We lived of Habachi the whole time. Also you do have access to Dreams dining options. Overall I would recommend this place to all my friends. I did a review on TikTok: @thebadmf_

Accommodations & Cleanliness: The room was spacious, very clean, and well-kept. The staff ensures the whole resort is immaculate. A couple of minor issues: some outlets in the room didn't work, and the tiled floor was extremely slippery when wet (a risk after pool time, so be careful). Service & Tipping: The staff was universally friendly, attentive, and helpful. However, guests must be prepared for the strong tipping culture here. We felt compelled to tip for every small service and easily exceeded our budget. Budget accordingly! Dining & Access Frustrations: Food quality was inconsistent. The main buffet was amazing and highly recommended, but unfortunately, it's not open for every meal. The a la carte dining at the Breathless property was quite poor. Furthermore, we were blocked from neighboring resorts (Dreams) for our entire trip due to a private event, despite being told we would have access. Security was firm, which was disappointing as this was a key part of our booking choice. Beach Experience: The beach is beautiful, but the local vendors are relentless. Be very firm from the start; after a day or two of firm refusals, they will leave you alone. Overall: We felt safe and well-cared for. It was an amazing stay, but be prepared for high tipping costs, inconsistent a la carte food, and potential limits on cross-resort access.

It was an average all inclusive. Only option for non-exhale members in the morning for breakfast is room service, buffet, or coffee shop. Coffee shop was not good - very bland lattes. Average cleanliness.
