Royalton CHIC Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort - Adults Only

It’s so called all inclusive but when you’re on the rooftop they want to charge you for drinks and you can’t use the cabana unless you buy a bottle. They hype up this hotel too much it wasn’t what I expected. They also over promise you stuff but it’s all talk never had any issues like I did in this hotel and I come every year to Cancun

The Good: • The food was excellent. Plenty of options. The buffet never disappointed, and Chef Camela was amazing. He made us feel special, and his dishes were some of the best I’ve had. Had we known this earlier, we wouldn’t have booked any restaurants. • Most staff were friendly. At night during the show, Dennys was fantastic—she constantly checked on our drinks and was quick and attentive. At the poolside bar, Luis was always prompt and provided excellent service. The buffet dining manager, Ismael, was also very kind, regularly checking in on our needs. • The beach was beautiful and felt safe, with security and police always nearby. • The evening shows were fantastic, and we looked forward to them each night. My only recommendation, based on our experience at the Punta Cana location, would be adjusting the timing. Events often overlapped, making it difficult to attend everything. At the other location, the show started at 7:30, followed by themed parties after. The Bad: • The elevators were very slow and overcrowded.It was common to wait 5 mins for an elevator, and with many stops, the ride could take just as long. • When the hotel was full, seating was extremely limited. For beach chairs, we had to be up by 6:30, as they were all taken by 7. On really busy days, people were sitting on towels due to lack of seating. For the same reason restaurant resverstions had to be made by 7 the day prior. -Overall places felt understaffed. Service was often slow and lines were long

Hotel was modern, clean, staff was friendly. As we walked up and down the beach numerous times, Royalton CHIC seems to be the place to be! A huge hotel, vibrant people life, cool palm trees in front, but not too many where it will block the view. 10 out 10 recommend

The balconies were really cute. My rooms air conditioning and fan did not work. It was very dry and hot my entire stay. The swim up bars are nice, but the music sucked. Food needs improvement. The elevators were narrow and took forever to come when called at all hours of the day. The spa was amazing!

The spa hydration was broken and the Jacuzzi was broken.

Great Stay , no complaints . Nice attentive staff , the pool manager Mr Miguel was super helpful . Henry Steak Out Was Awesome . THE SPA IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, worth it ‘ will stay here again

The only thing that needs more work is the elevators within the building

Smaller footprint property, all amenities are in a nice close proximity, so it's easy to get around. It does involve using elevators which can be somewhat slow during busy times. Food was excellent with a great selection. The service was excellent and the staff are very attentive, hard working, accommodating and friendly! One of the downsides to this property was the lack of entertainment. They had a few pool foam parties throughout the week and a daily pool volleyball game which was fun, but otherwise lacking compared to other Cancun resorts. DJ wouldnt play any music until late in afternoon, and very briefly. One of the disappointments was the 18th floor rooftop, it was very hot up there with very little breeze. Beware that the rooftop drinks are only included if you upgrade to the diamond club (+$120/day) , we weren't aware of this at time of booking. 75% of the guests dont upgrade, and i dont feel its worth it, so it creates a kind of divided guest group, with a dead vibe on the rooftop! The night entertainment is non-existent. A band one night played for an hour, and karaoke another night. Otherwise nightly entertainment was pretty minimal. Its possible that it was lacking due to the time of year (late May). The crowd seemed to be predominantly African-American between ages of late 20's to early 50's, but it could be that it was Memorial weekend and the Cancun Jump Off event which is the largest urban gathering outside of the US.

Good all-inclusive resort but needs a bit of minor updates/repairs in the rooms (bathroom glass doors and curtains). Room cleanliness is very good, comfortable beds, linens and towels were changed on a daily basis. The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly, polite and helpful. Location is excellent proximity to downtown Cancun restaurants, bars and shopping. It’s an easy 8 min walk on wide, safe, well-lit sidewalks which many tourists use on a daily and nightly basis. The buffet has good selection and it’s exactly what you’d expect from most resorts. It can be repetitive but there are other options available such as the Café breakfast, pool resto-bar for lunch and á la carte restaurants for dinner. The beach was great for relaxing with food and drink services provided in both diamond club and regular lounge sections. The biggest negative for me and my travel friends was the water temperature of the swimming pools. It seems that the water pumps were not working well enough in which the water was always very warm to be in the pool no matter what time you’re in it. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this resort.

Everything was great but there arent enough beach/pool chairs for the # of guest during peak season.

I recently stayed at your hotel, but unfortunately, my experience was not the best. There were flying bugs inside our room, which made our stay uncomfortable. I expected a higher standard of cleanliness and comfort. I hope you can look into this matter to prevent it from happening to other guests and consider some form of compensation for the inconvenience. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Really clean resort, staff was very welcoming and we met a lot of nice ppl

We recently stayed at a hotel in Cancun and had a mixed experience that unfortunately leaned more negative than positive. Starting with the issues: the front desk staff were often unhelpful, and a few were outright rude. One of the waiters even made an inappropriate comment about how much food we were going to eat, which was both unprofessional and uncomfortable. The facilities were lacking in upkeep. The poolside washrooms were consistently dirty, many beach chairs were ripped or broken, and the tap and shower water had a strong, unpleasant odor. Although we were charged a beach cleaning fee, the beach remained covered in seaweed for most of the week and was only cleaned once. We also had a frustrating experience when my sister, who had a day pass and a reservation booked in advance, was held at the gate by security and left waiting outside in the morning. That said, there were a few standout positives. The room cleaning staff were incredibly kind and thorough, the entertainment team worked hard to create a fun atmosphere, and a couple of the waiters were genuinely welcoming and attentive. Overall, while there were moments we appreciated, the service inconsistencies and facility issues make it unlikely we would return unless significant improvements are made.

The room was large and very clean. The staff goes over and above to assist you in any way possible. The young lady Jasmin who served drinks at the resort was absolutely amazing. Her friendly smile, great attitude, and fast service added to an overall wonderful experience. The entertainment is top notch and made for fun-filled days and nights .

Staff was nice. Resort presented very well. Our floor within the resort and room did have a “poop/sewer” smell that lingered the entire stay. The smell was not in other floors or areas or the resort. The food was decent and drinks were ok.

Decent. Expected more based reviews. Brown water, no hot water and no water at all at some points. Food is "ok".

Rooms smelled moldy and the food was nasty

The hotel is very nice, but we had many problems with the room. The shower in the main room didn’t have hot water, and neither of the two jacuzzis in the room had hot water either. The air conditioning wasn’t working, and we spent a very cold night even after turning off all the air conditioning. You pay a lot for a room to be calling technicians two or three times a day. Honestly, I don’t think I will return to the hotel because of the bad impression it left on me. You go on vacation to enjoy your investment, not to watch technicians come and go three times a day

This property looks very nice on the website, but is average at best. We stayed 3 nights, and every time we came back into our room, the beds, sheets, floors, walls, and balcony doors were moist. They really need to work on getting the moisture and humidity under control because it’s super moist even with the ac and fans on. Also EVERYTHING closes super early at 5pm. The pools and pool bar as well as the rooftop shut down and there’s absolutely NO night life on the property. It’s a very average property and I would not stay there again.

I do not recommend this resort. First two days we either have lukewarm showers or cold showers. Our ceiling was leaking and part of the ceiling fell onto our bathroom countertop. It was at 2:30 in the morning. They did not offer to clean it up or anything. We had to use our own towels to clean it up. Elevators took forever. And there are no stairs from the higher floors down to floor three where the stairs connect to the rest of the hotel.

Large and nicely appointed rooms. All inclusive makes it easy.

My check-in experience was frustrating, even with Diamond Club perks. Spending an hour just to get checked in is definitely not ideal, especially when you’re expecting some level of VIP treatment. And having sales pitches thrown at you around every corner doesn’t exactly scream “relaxing vacation.”

I was very disappointed by the staff's lack of service. They gave attitude every time you needed something or wanted a drink. I traveled with 12 Adults to celebrate my birthday and eveyone was disappointed in some way or the other by the service.My room temperature was hot throughout my entire stay for 6 days and the lack of air-conditioning through out the entire facility was unbearable. To reserve dining was like pulling teeth. Nothing was easily available for an all inclusive. The restaurants closes at odd times. The front desk staff was very rude and made fun of some of the guests while I watched, waiting for my room. The concierge act like you are bothering them and very vague with answering your questions. Everything was about money yet my party spent well over $40,000 U.S. for this trip. Bottle water was not easily available and when asked, that was also an issue, housekeeping was good and attentive. Overall, Very disappointed as this was my 1st all inclusive vacation. I will be contacting corporate to file an official complaint.

We stayed three nights at Royalton CHIC Cancun, after spending New Year’s at Secrets Akumal in the Riviera Maya, and unfortunately this hotel did not meet our expectations. The check-in at the Club Lounge was chaotic, crowded, and the staff was not welcoming or informative. What truly saved our first impression — and much of our stay — was Gilbert, our butler, who was exceptional: attentive, kind, efficient, and always willing to help. He truly deserves recognition and promotion. Unfortunately, his counterpart Cesar, responsible for the morning shift, was completely absent. He never introduced himself, did not respond to messages, and failed to fulfill even simple requests made in person. This lack of balance between the butler team negatively impacted our experience. Overall, the hotel is very noisy, especially in the restaurants at dinner time. For an adults-only hotel, the atmosphere felt far from it — loud, chaotic, and not relaxing. The parties and entertainment were also underwhelming, with limited options, short schedules, and little promotion. The room service menu is very limited, and the lack of a delivery box means staff must enter the room, which affects privacy. While the staff is polite, the constant expectation of tipping becomes uncomfortable. Conclusion: we do not recommend this hotel. The stay was not worth the price paid. The only true highlight was Gilbert, whose professionalism made a real difference

Overall, I didn’t feel the “all-inclusive” experience was worth it. The hotel is fine if you’re just looking for a decent room, but beyond that, it fell short. The bar service had long waits, the environment was noisy, and the elevators were unreliable with frustratingly long wait times. When I went to schedule a massage, I was pushed into a 90-minute membership sales pitch instead. They also handed me a so-called “$300 voucher,” which turned out to just be a booklet of discount coupons, not actual credit. On top of that, Expedia advertised my room as either a king bed or two doubles. Since I booked the luxury ocean view room for my wife and me, I expected a king. Instead, we were given a double bed and I was unable to change it, which was very disappointing and far from the “luxury” experience I paid for. The one bright spot was the staff, who were genuinely lovely, but overall this resort did not meet the standards I’d expect from a place marketed as “luxury.”

This is a great resort clean, fun, great food and drinks, beautiful beach, comfortable beds, and the staff is absolutely amazing!! The mixologist Elmer made me the most amazing specialty drink, our Butlers Sandra and Iran not only took the greatest care of us but also our friends who traveled with us. We were greeted with a welcome drink and Fernando! He was the friendliest face to show up to, anything we asked him he knew the answer or actually looked up the info so we had an answer.

Everything was great and fun! Nelson was the best and so were our butlers Stef and Daniel!!!

This is an amazing property! From professional, personable staff to extremely clean facilities, the Royalton CHIC Cancun is an exceptional all-inclusive. It offers great dining options, wonderful pools, easy beachfront access, and high-class rooms that make you feel like you are VIP.

I loved this resort it's in a nice location and everyone is so nice. Check in was a breeze, the rooms were all clean even when they came in to re clean your room they did a great job. The bartenders are the best and the food wasn't too bad. You're not far from everything but not close where the party scene will disturb you. If you find Bryan, Jan and Santiago at the bar you're in great hands. I didn't like the rainfall showehead but they do have a hand held that works. Definitely book this resort you won't be disappointed matter of fact you will never have to leave the resort for activities. My crew had a ball and we definitely will stay here again thanks guys you rock.

Good location!

Other than the elevators being slow, this property was a great property! So many things to do and if you like partying, the night life downtown is within walking distance!!

I was very impressed with this property. It is close to downtown if you want to leave the property. Busy hotel with a good atmosphere. I would definitely stay again.

Was amazing and would love to come back

The elevator situation at this hotel was horrible. The food was not good. The restaurant service in the Asian restaurant was the worst for me. Food came out cold and was not appealing. The buffet food was not that great eithet

Property is beautiful. Staff is amazing! Beach was beautiful. Entertainment is great. Sandra our was amazing! The only complaint from this hotel is the food. It is very very poor quality. We paid for Diamond Club thinking we would get better, but it was not. We tried all of the restaurants. The Italian place was edible. The buffet had a lot of choices, but food was cold. Lunch was just put out and it should have been warm. For breakfast, the bacon was sitting in a pool of grease.

The resort is modern and clean. Staff is great! If you want to loose weight perfect resort. The food selection was horrible. Omelet station was the best for breakfast. The Asian restaurant forget it...absolutely not. I wouldn't revisit. Royalton Rivera Maya was much better

The staff at Royalton Chic was excellent. Everyone did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. More specifically I would like to mention our butlers Diego and Gilbert, all of the staff at the diamond club pool, and Rudolfo and Marteen at the Hacienda. These people were wonderful. Our problems were mostly with your restaurants and room service. Every restaurant except for the hacienda provided very small servings. For example, at the italian place (Verdi) I ordered a pasta dish and it came in a very small bowl that would have been the size of a side dish at any other italian restaurant I have eaten at. The steak house served me a piece of meat that was about a quarter inch thick, was over cooked and had no flavor. the steak house did not even offer a filet. I have never stayed at an all inclusive that was that cheap with their menu items. As for room service, we ordered coffee our first morning there. After an hour of waiting, we finally went downstairs and got our own coffee. Our butler Diego set up coffee for us every morning after that. While I appreciate this effort by Diego, this meant we had to be awake and in the room at a certain time each morning just to get coffee. I prefer to vacation on my schedule; not yours. For the above reasons, we will not return to your resort in the future. This is unfortunate because your staff is excellent but those making policies and procedures should all be replaced.

We were really looking forward to our stay at Royalton Chic, but it didn’t live up to expectations. Dining: Hunters Steakhouse was a disappointment — the steaks were the smallest we’ve ever been served at a “steakhouse.” The buffet was terrible. We come to Cancun for authentic Mexican food, not hotdogs, burgers, or random international dishes. The only bright spots were breakfast, which was decent, and La Hacienda, where both the food and service were absolutely outstanding. Drinks: The alcohol seemed watered down — no matter what we ordered, we couldn’t even feel a buzz. Facilities: At times, the sink water ran brown, which was unsettling and unacceptable for a resort at this price point. Upselling: What really took away from the “all-inclusive” experience was constantly being approached to buy add-ons. We come here because it’s supposed to be all-inclusive — we don’t want to be nickel-and-dimed for extras after paying premium rates. Service: The staff at La Hacienda were the highlight of the trip. Their kindness, professionalism, and incredible food made that one restaurant stand out from the rest of the resort. Overall, this resort has potential but misses the mark on quality, consistency, and the true all-inclusive experience it promises.

Breakfast & lunch food was awesome. Dinner buffet was awful - raw chicken, raw pork patties, raw steak.

The beach is beautiful and pool always has fun activities. All the cocktails were well made but food was mediocre. Buffet had the same food everyday and desserts were very bad. I wouldnt recommend it if you dont drink or party too much.

food was terrible and bad coustmer service. they advertise their rooftop party but everything there is extra money even as a diamond club you only get to go to the party but can sit anywhere without extra charge. don recommend this place riu is better
