ibis budget Hotel Edinburgh Park

Room had everything I needed - bed was comfy, AC worked and it was quiet. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a small shop/fridge with basic supplies which is useful. I didn’t have any food but the pizza looked good. Lots of people taking advantage of the free tea and coffee. It is a budget hotel but no complaints whatsoever- stayed before & will again. Less than 5 min walk to the tram.

Basic but clean and comfortable, 24hr food (pizza) available on site and very convenient for the airport with the tram stop outside. It did what I wanted it to do.

Please be aware, the hotel will charge you £5 for parking - and this is not detailed (by them) on their Expedia listing. Incredibly basic hotel; fine for a solo stay, and also very convenient for getting to Edinburgh Airport, but nicer is available for a little extra money. I have stayed at other Ibis Budget hotels and this was a far cry from how nice they have been.

Parking is very limited. Hotel lobby and dining area is very small and can't accommodate all guests during breakfast time.

Firstly this is a budget hotel, so very limited choice of cold buffet breakfast and pizza/panini 24 hour availablity for a hot snack and a limited bar for a beer or two, BUT with that said, Hotel Ibis Budget is a perfect place to stay for events in Edinburgh, with a tram stop just a 4 minute walk!!! The hotel is warm, welcoming, exceptionally clean and the room has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Really comfy bed, excellent shower and a TV, spot on. There's free tea and coffee in the lounge/foyer area and a lift to all floors. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and housekeeping is very good. There's a large Morrisons and shopping centre next to the tram stop. The location is superb, very quiet and very safe. We are definitely going to stay here again next time we visit Edinburgh.

The property was excellent for our needs (last night before leaving Scotland so was close to the airport). I booked this hotel because the website claims free shuttle - which they do not have. Also it is in a business park so pretty limited on dining in the area, although a 15 minute walk provided a great dining experience.

Very nice hotel but there is no restaurant in the hotel they sell a pizza or panini that’s it otherwise well worth the stay

The room was small, but clean. The tram was a very short walk away and was only a few stops to the airport. The staff were very friendly. Given that the room as small, it was nice to have a place, adjacent to the lobby, where you could sit, eat and watch some TV.

Stayed one night, so easy to get into Edinburgh as tram across the road. Very clean with everything you need. Would definitely recommend and come again.

Poor cleanliness, I found a sock on the smoke alarm, the floor hadn’t been cleaned very well, faulty light switches, dirty towels. Not impressed or happy at all.

The room was perfect with all what’s needed. BUT, The room was really dirty, sticky floor and dust all over. Sand on the desk and chair.

Staff were friendly and very helpful unfortunately the room we had was dirty we did find blood stains on top of the top bunk followed with a small bits dirt too on top of the covers, under the covers, bed sheet and mattress, we didn’t use the top bunk but did use it for storage as there wasn’t a lot of room to put anything, the main bed we had was the same covered in bits of dirt, hairs and a stained pillow as well, we did ask for house keeping to come in and they made it cleaner till we was happy, the room was so small as well barley any room to fully move around with 2 people, the bathroom isn’t a bathroom which is fine for a small room but the shower door didn’t close properly leaving the towel on the floor to get soaked, the bathroom door has a gap so you can basically hear the other person doing there business in there then dealing with the aftermath Wether your in there or not. Despite all that I think me and my partner would stay again but for the price of the room we had it’s not worth it- 4 walls with barely any room

The description in no way match the actuality. The room was relatively clean, but the tiniest one for that much money which was disheartening. The shower and sink were right by the small bed. It was almost like a recreational vehicle set up with almost no room to navigate. A bunkbed over the bed precluded being able to sit up very comfortably. The entrance was filled with litter. Trashcan was overflowing; there were weeds outside on the pavers. All the rugs inside were dirty and obviously had not been vacuumed. It was quite disgusting.

First time at an ibis budget and I was baffled at how clean it was. Only booked it as a last resort as there wasn’t much other open around the festive period; so I wasn’t expecting much from this little gem of a hotel. I was amazed at how clean it was, the service provided and the friendliness of the staff. I would deffo use an ibis hotel again

Very basic room - fitted the purpose. Very Clean room although holes in duvet and a stain on one of the top sheets. Room was noisy but I played white noise to block out the other rooms noises with comings and goings in the passageway as well as a weird continuous wind tunnel rumble sound. 2x Twin beds was just enough room for one with luggage, I feel 2 people would be very crowded. As a woman travelling alone coming into the hotel late at night the area is very quiet but the area the hotel was situated in was dark so a little unnerving, there were however quite a lot of security guards on patrol which helps .. there are steps getting to the hotel and off the train platform. Breakfast was very busy and I did not stay for the complimentary tea that is available on the restaurant.

Small room, shower in a cupboard off the room, toilet in a different cupboard off the room, a sink in the room. No kettle, no fridge. Small bed. One chair and a small shelf which you can put a laptop on. Not a great working environment. Close to the light rail into the city. This place is OK, but quite pricey for what it is. Breakfast OK.

Convenient to tram to EDI airport. Small rooms.

Pleasantly surprised at how good the Ibis Budget Edinburgh was. The twin room was small as were the beds, but it was comfortable enough to sleep in. Pillows could do with an upgrade as they are very soft and only one per person. Only one towel each too but staff happy to give you as many as you need. Free tea & coffee available all day was really appreciated. WiFi went down most of Sat unfortunately but apart from that, everything else was great. Will use again.

Overall ok but there is pretty much no dedicated bathroom - it is part of your room with close to 0 privacy when staying with your partner. The toilet does not even have a real door.

Located across the road from GYLE Centre tram stop Down side: an alarm going and people moving around from 5am the soundproofing could be looked at as could the window seal as the wind blowing through the closed window made it a little chilly (temperature was set at 24) Plus side: comfy bed with 2 different firmness of pillows, complete blackout blinds so no light coming in room at all and the bonus of a noon check out made it for a good nights stay

We booked a twin room however the room was not as expected. The shower was in the room itself and the toilet door was more like a wardrobe door, so there was no real privacy. It is a £5 fee for parking for 24 hours, so given that and the room layout/design, I probably wouldn’t stay more than one night. But it does what it says on the tin and was ideal for a stopover for the night.

Chekwd in online gave an estimated arrival time. Arrived around 1PM the front staff was less enthused. Came back later after shift change, got a very nice and helpful gentleman at the front desk. We booked a twin room. Very small. The shower was in the actual room. the toilet was just in a cubboard with a magnetic lock ( poorly lock). Old vinyl flooring but it was clean and otherwise comfortable. Very easy and convenient to travel by tram. The breakfast was ok, no hot options. Expensive for what it was.

Easy welcoming check in. Familiar room layout, convenient bar given location (though 5 minute walk to supermarket/tram and 10 minute walk to train station). Clean, but not warm (air conditioning unit still on summer mode) and rattling in one of the outside vents kept me up (probably not an issue for a heavy sleeper).

The hotel was a convenient and comfortable stop for the night before an early flight. The staff were also great.

Service was poor. 1 person to handle front desk and bar.

The morning when we were about to check out we got woke up by one of the cleaners walking in our room, that’s definitely not allowed she definitely should know who’s left or not yet.

The staff were excellent. All were polite, helpful and cheerful. We were given extra bedding as the room was a little cold. Very clean and a good breakfast.

I was double charged for my stay. First by hotels.com and then by the hotel. Secondly there was no bedding in my room. I had to get the bedsheets pillow and duvet from reception and put it myself.

We arrived at the hotel at 2:45 to a queue into the carpark for check in. This queue lasted 50 minutes. We were in the city to see Taylor swift (the third night of the show) There was one member of staff on the desk meaning the queue was not moving fast and all customers were becoming frustrated. The doors for the show opened at 5pm. To be told when we get to the front of the queue only one room was ready?? Check out was 10am which left 5 hours for rooms to be cleaned but we still waited nearly and hour to reach the front of the queue. We were told by the desk “it’s ok we will give you one key and all 4 can get ready in one room?” This is an Ibus budget, 4 people wouldn’t fit stood up in the room! We returned after the concert at midnight to queue AGAIN for another half an hour for the key to the second room. This concert was a year in the making why was this hotel not prepared? The majority of the city was closed due to the volume of people, why did Ibis not have sufficient staff to cope with the demand? The hotel inflated prices as soon as this concert was announced, but didn’t make any preparations to cope with the demand. It was also day three of the concert how was this not learned from day one and two of the concert? The hotel wasn’t clean, was understaffed, the appalling queues made us late for our once in a lifetime concert and the staff were not unapologetic in the slightest. I would like a partial refund for the appalling service and standard.

Scott, at the front desk, was super helpful and friendly. We stayed one night before heading to Inverness. The hotel is safe, clean, and close to the tram.

Easy to get to from Gyles Center Tram Station can see it from the station. Clean Budget hotel good for a one night stay. No restaurants on site and shops in the mall close early but it was easy for me to walk to the Delta for a healthy supper in their lounge.

This is a great, clean, convenient option right by the tram, to get into Edinburgh! It’s in a business area (so not cute) but it’s quiet and safe, and close to a mall if that’s helpful. The price was a bit high for what it was, but I assume it was higher than usual because it was during the Fringe Festival.

The place is extremely simple yet great for short stays, convenient location right in front of a tram station with service from/to the airport and Edinburgh’s city center.

This hotel had the most comfortable beds we encountered in 2 weeks of stays in multiple hotels in both Scotland and Ireland. If you are a single traveler or an intimate couple wanting a budget-friendly choice, this might be your hotel. But only if you have your own transportation. There really isn't anywhere to walk to, but it is very close to the airport. If you are traveling with a friend or sibling, be advised there isn't much privacy when it comes to the bathroom situation. There was a small toilet room. But the shower was frosted glass but visible to the room, and the sink was very small and out in the room, with almost zero counter space. On the plus side, the shower was very nice with great water pressure. The breakfast was slightly disappointing, as it had no hot food. Their coffee machines were great. In the evening they do offer pizza and they have a decent little bar. If you want a place close to the airport and the privacy issue doesn't bother you, I'd consider this hotel.
