No air conditioner and no bathroom fan. The only ventilation was by opening the windows, which had no screens and opened directly onto the walkway, so I did not feel safe. I had to go buy a fan, because otherwise the room would have been stifling. There was also no trash can, and the walls, doors, and floor were sticky. Thin curtains that didn’t block light at all, and traffic noise all night from the open windows. Will not stay here again.

We feel like we were absolutely catfished staying here. The property is absolutely filthy. And SCARY. There were transient population just in the parking lot sketching around and appeared intoxicated. It appears people live here ( which is fine but it is almost like a halfway housing situation). You could smell illicit drugs( not the 420 kind). The room was not at all what was pictured. The floor was sticky and the room smelled strongly of cigarettes and again illicit drugs. The hair on my neck stood up and I felt completely unsafe, uncomfortable and honestly scared. I had a car full of belongings from our road trip I didn’t feel comfortable leaving alone. I didn’t feel comfortable being alone with my very protective dog. We literally opened our hotel door, walked in discussed this was not a safe place to stay for the evening and left. The front desk guy was super nice and said to contact hotels.com for a refund due to “hazardous conditions” . This is absolutely not ok and should not be listed as a “hotel” option here. I contacted hotels.com on the phone about this, but it appears they have to talk to front desk manager for a “refund” approval. They were unable to contact them multiple times while I stayed on the line. This is not okay to take advantage of people and catfish them. Be a good person, and do the right thing.the cleanliness is one thing, but the safety of your patrons is another.

The hotel rooms look NOTHING like the photos, it’s very much a budget hotel with lots of people living in the rooms. Non smoking signs posted all over with residents smoking cigarettes right next to them, multiple pit bulls, one off a leash approached me and my children. The man insisted she was friendly but my kids were clearly uncomfortable and he didn’t do anything. The outlet near k

On short notice my wife and I needed a room over a weekend in Newport. There were very few affordable options. The Newport Inn was close to where we needed to be, and we just needed a comfortable bed for the night. How bad could it be? The answer is pretty bad. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. There was an odd odor in the room that I couldn't place, but I didn't feel safe to leave the window open during the night. The bed was uncomfortable. The room and bathroom was not cleaned properly. The stairwells had half eaten food and cigarette butts in them. The experience was so bad we left after the first night and drove home the next day.

They wouldn't let me check into the hotel even though I had a confirmation number and they charged me. So me and my wife had to find another hotel last minute and pay triple the price of what we paid for this hotel as we drove 9 hours to get there with nowhere to stay.
