Motel 6-Newport, OR

Very comfortable! Staff was wonderful. Only objection: Our room was next to the ice machine. The water ran continually which we could hear quite clearly through the wall.

I stopped in and they wouldn’t take a reservation, and the price was $110 a night. I went on the website, reserved the room and it was $75 a night. The place is under renovations and odd experience booking. The fireplace doesn’t work.

It is close to the aquarium and had a view of the bridge from our room. The lighting in our room was harsh. I had to lay a sweater over the bed lamp to make it tolerable. Parking is tight and small. It is clean, but dated.

Paid for room with fireplace, was charged for room with fireplace but the fireplaces werent working, wasnt told about it upon check in even. Was pretty bumed about that because it was an extra. I wouldn't of paid for the extra if I knew it wasnt working upon arrival.

The parking lot is very small, not enough parking spots for as many rooms as the motel has, so there is a field across the street you can park with the homeless vehicles. When you open your back slider or window the “view” from the rooms is a parking lot full of camper trailers 50 feet from you, so you hear that all day and night. There is no a/c or fan in the rooms, the air is hot, stagnant and the room smells terrible. There is only one drink vending machine and it was broken, the snack vending machine is so old it accepts cash only. The front desk was selling bottled beverages… cash only. They also serve coffee with sugar and powdered creamer… The towels in the room are small, thin and scratchy. They only give you one bar of soap and one roll of toilet paper.

Good location, you do need a car to access Newport itself. There is a RV parking facility surrounding the hotel, and the fireplaces in each room do not work. Otherwise it was a great, clean place to stay.

I was on the first floor. The room was nice, had all the essentials. It didn’t have AC, but that was fine on the coast. The issue was the ice machine directly across the hall. You could hear it clearly. It ran all night. It was impossible to sleep it was so loud. There was water running from a drainage pipe that was also incredibly loud connected to the ice machine. It honestly was the worst night of sleep (or top 3) I’ve ever had.

We had a beautiful room. The only disappointment was that the gas fireplace did not work. We were close to the bay, restaurants and tourist activities. Housekeeping supplied us with whatever we needed.

Laundry worked.

The parking was so packed and I ended up having to park down the road from the site

It was clean and ready, when I got there. The front desk was very helpful.

The first room smelled so bad that we had to change rooms. But the second one had mold around the tub. Low water pressure and not much hot water.

Room was not clean. Chipped paint The top edge of the shower had a lot of dirt/ dust , like it had not been cleaned in months.

Inside needs work. Black mold around shower. Counters falling apart

Probably the cleanest hotel room I have ever seen and a super friendly welcome!

Although I know prices are rising and the area is in demand, we paid over $220 for one night in a room that was poorly cleaned ( the bathroom was scary) and the metal bases of the bed had splash marks of liquid all over them. More noticeably, a gross looking smear of a brown substance across the bathroom door, onto the wall. The two queen beds had two small pillows each and the blankets were very thin. I went out on the balcony and after opening the sliding glass door I struggled to get it closed again! It was only after kicking the base of the sliding glass door I was able to close it again!!! The walls were very thin; a baby and a woman were screaming most of the 8-9pm hour, making it very hard to wind down. We will not be back

I am happy we only stayed here one night and pretty much only slept there. The hotel seemed pretty run down and in need of improvements. We didn’t feel comfortable using the ice machine considering there was black mold on the ceiling right next to it. The room was clean and comfortable enough but NOT worth the price. I would not stay here again nor recommend it.

Lobby wasn’t well kept. Items stacked around and there was an unpleasant odor throughout hotel. Room was comfortable but needed to be cleaned better. Hair in the corners of the bathroom and litter, dirt in the floors.

The staff was great. Helpful, friendly and kind. The room overall is fine but there is NO AC OR FAN! Nothing to cool you down at night. Or during the day. Nothing to help make white noise. And it was rather warm when we were there. I can’t believe they have nothing! Not even a fan. And that bed frame. It’s made of I believe tin? Any movement made the worst sound. We actually took the mattress off the frame and slept on the mattress on the ground it was THAT BAD. We didn’t hear other guest while in our room so that was good. And we did like the location of the motel. But not enough parking either. It needs more parking. If we ever come back to Newport we would not stay at this place.

Convenient place to stay for a fishing trip. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Coffee in room would have been a plus, but found coffee at the store by the docks.

Pretty nice, especially for a motel 6. Internet went out for pretty much the entire time I was there but my coworker was at a separate hotel with the same issue so I am pretty positive the motel couldn't have done anything about it. I do wish they were better about keeping me informed on what was going on though, considering I asked them to. Overall good stay no complaints really.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for Valentine’s Day and it was a comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly and nice, and the hotel is in a nice location. The rooms were a bit run down, but overall pretty comfortable. My only real complaint would be the beds. The beds weren’t very comfortable and were super loud. I am not a large person, but simply getting into our bed sounded like it was breaking. In a pinch, I definitely recommend this hotel.

Our room was huge and we loved that we could stretch out after a long day. The furnishings are a bit outdated, but the room was very clean. There is an RV park that is out the backside of the building and we didn't know how we felt about that, but we had absolutely no issues with it. If we were in this area again, we would definitely stay here.

Affordable n spacious

The room has no AC, but it does have heat and a gas fireplace. But the hallways have AC, just not in room, weird. The room door had a missing piece, look like someone broke in before. All the outlets are loose, phone charger would not stay plugged in, had to have something to support it so it doesn't fall off the outlet. The bed squeezes even a tiny movement. The microwave door have to push like 10 times to get it open. Only positive is the bathroom is clean and it has exhaust fan.

The rooms are very big and the beds every comfortable, The view from the balcony was lovely, overlooking the bay. We liked to hear the sea lions when the window was open.

You get what you get. A place to lay your head. There is no AC, so we attempted to leave the balcony door open, but the sea lions were so loud we had to shut the door! (This is not the hotel’s fault, just an FYI so others know as I was surprised to find zero heat/ac controls in the room).

The motel felt old for sure. There were alot of things that could be fixed to just make it look better - in our room (like the window coverings/blinds) and the motel (like the wobbly elevator). We were very pleased with the comfort of the bed, but the traffic noise was terrible. I would rate it a 5 out of 10. We enjoyed the jetted tub, fireplace, and balcony. No A/C - just saying...

Property says 24/7 front desk and when arrived they denied us check in because front desk went home early and we had to drive over an hour to another location and they won’t refund me.

The day shift was outstanding. The night clerk was horrible. I was outside smoking in my vehicle when I noticed that another guest had left their headlights on. I went inside and knocked on the door to tell the clerk. She accused me of being intoxicated and threatened to call the police. What wonderful service. Needless to say the vehicle was dead in the morning.

Was not made aware that the property closed at 10pm for check in. Only that 3pm at the earliest so me and my family spent the day in Newport and were very annoyed to come back exhausted from the day at 11pm to find out that it was closed and that we were not to be refunded.

Well let me tell you like this I had a late check in I said it would be a late check-in and he got really mad at me at us because he had to get up out of bed or whatever and open the door and he doesn't open the door past 10:00 I think it was or maybe it was midnight yes it's midnight and he opened the door and he checked us in but he was not very nice about it and then just tonight another girl got in late and I just witnessed him screaming at her and hanging up on her on the phone that she called him from outside and he said he will not open the door she will be charged for the night but every single Motel 6 I've ever been in has a clerk sitting at the desk all night long they don't go to sleep and take a f****** nap they're at work you know what I mean they should be working not sleeping and it shouldn't matter what time somebody checks in as long as they paid for the room right is that right this dude needs to get canned cuz he is nothing but rude to people and he's condescending and he's a f****** joke and he's making your Motel look really bad

I have stayed there twice before and I was pretty happy with it for the price. This time, not so. 1st room was tiny and reeked of bleach. Requested new room. Same tiny room. No place to put luggage. When I sought a luggage carrier: too bad, so sad response. Put your luggage on the floor. (I'm 72.) No chance! On the 2nd day my key card didn't work. Same receptionist. Still rude to me. Suspect she deactivated key card. Only 1 luggage carrier. Had to make 3 trips to get luggage downstairs. Never again.

The service was excellent! We had a malfunctioning TV that was quickly remedied. The linens were stained a couple of times with dirt or something else and it was also quickly resolved. It’s a skeleton crew working there and they are doing their best. They’re as attentive as they can be. At the end of the day overall, it was clean and a good spot to sleep before exploring Newport’s offerings.

Close to town but not right in it. Close to aquarium, launch ramp and brewery. Very clean.

Enjoyed my stay. Wish I had more time to explore Newport, but made a pit stop to visit the aquarium. Aquarium is walking distance from the hotel. Price was reasonable and check-in was a breeze.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. It is very conveniently located.

Stay was good, we like the location. We were not told that the hotel does not supply shampoo, conditioner, or lotion, just hand soap.

Biggest and most obvious improvement would be to put coffee machines back in the rooms. The lobby coffee was weak and cold. On a business trip coffee first thing is essential.

It’s an older hotel but kept up fairly well. The complimentary coffee is awful. It could use more coffee it was barely brown

No shampoo/conditioner....you have to buy the little bottle from the vending machine. No coffee in rooms. Tv didnt work. Sheets, towels that are paper thin and like sandpaper.

Great location within walking distance of the Hatfield Science Center, estuary trail, aquarium, and Rogue Brewery. The property was clearly aged but the room was clean and spacious. No coffee in the room. There was a coffee station in the lobby but I never saw any coffee there either. The TV didn’t have any inputs so bring your own computer and HDMI cord if you want to watch something. The fireplace also didn’t work. Linens were thin and sparse but at least the room was adequately warm. Overall, it’s far from luxury but it was affordable and I would stay there again.

Bare bones accommodation. No coffee, or toiletries in room. Lobby was locked when I went down for coffee at 6:00 am, still locked when I went down to checkout at 7am.

Front desk wouldn’t make coffee after 9am, asked for some coffee at 3pm and she said she will not make any for us. Quite I won’t do that… room didn’t have enough towels for the shot and jacuzzi tub, was told I had a real Hot tub when I booked the room.

Everything was good......Clean ....and comfortable. The only concern was that there was no Coffee in the room. We were fishing and had to get up very early so there was no other "Coffee Option" Had to tough it out.

No breakfast and the coffee provided is limited to 7AM - 9AM in the lobby.
