Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Galveston West/Seawall

The first thing I noticed when I got to the lobby was that it smelled like insecticide, in general it wasn't that bad, the room wasn't the cleanest in the world but it was acceptable, what I didn't like at all was the pool, it was too dirty, inside and out, and we found several sharp objects inside and outside of swimming pool that could easily put young children's lives at risk.

It was nice having the pool for relaxing. They were great at accepting my service animal. It was not good at all when I found HUGE cockroaches in my room. I was totally horrified when I ended up stepping on one as I was bare foot.

Unfortunately, we did not have a good time during our stay. We stayed from Friday through Sunday. The staff was not friendly. The elevators were making terrible noises and got stuck. On Saturday, we went to have breakfast that the hotel offered. It was opened until 9:30 am and we arrived at 8:50 am. No staff was found to help. The dining area looked dirty and disorganized. They were out of eggs, buscuits and juice. We had to go to the front desk to notify the situation. A female staff came with a bad attitude. 👎 . She brought cold scrambled eggs and terrible soggy buiscuits. We suspected that she put the biscuits in the microwave. We could not eat the buiscuits and the scrambled eggs. On Saturday evening we tried to see the t.v. but we had no cable signal. We notified the front desk and it took 2 guys to make it work after they had to get a new receiver. Yet, we were only able to see just a few channels. The two staff males stated that apparently the problem was with the cable company. 😠 Then, on Sunday, when it was time to leave, no one was at the front desk to leave the key cards with. They had a sign stating that they went to walk around the property to please leave the key cards in a little plastic basket they had on top of the counter. I did not feel comfortable doing that, but I had no choice. We did not want to wait any longer. We will never come back. Don't stay there!!!!!

It was a great location. You could walk across the parking lot to the beach and a great restaurant on a pier but the property was run down. The furniture was worn, we had to fix our toilet when we got there and only half the breakfast appliances worked. Also, the elevator made a really loud sound that could be heard through the property.

Rented a double queen room. It was huge! Alot of room, big sitting area with couch and table. The beds were clean and comfortable. A full size refrigerator, microwave and stove top. The bathroom was clean and a nice size shower. Blow dryer. On site washer/dryer. The staff was pleasant. The pool was very clean. Breakfast was the typical continental breakfast. But it ends at 930 am. Good location. About a 3 minute walk to the beach. I would definitely stay here again!

Staff were noce. Only thing the renovation of.the hoteloutside. There was paint chips and some holes where men were working and no caution sofns. Other than that it was a great stay

It was great thank you but the ice machine only worked on the 4th floor hopefully next time all of them will work

No coffee pot in room. Breakfast cold at 6:30 am. Ice only available on 1 floor.

From the minute I tried to check-in this hotel was a disaster. Nobody was at the counter and there was a sign. This said they were walking the property so that tells me. There was only one staff member for this hotel. I actually had to leave and come back a 1/2 an hour later. And then the staff member was in an office, hiding out somewhere the smell in the room was so overpowering, and there was a dehumidifier in the hallway with a tube running to the room next door to me in the stairwells, there was so much debris that you could hardly walk without getting Sheetrock on your shoes, I did not feel safe in the my room and thus I just left as I couldn't when I tried to reach out to hotels.com, they said to talk to a manager. Well, there's no manager to talk to nobody.There's no phone number directly to the hotel.And there was lack of staff to help.

I didn’t like that the hotel was dirty and had an odor to it. Toilet barely worked, just not a 4 or 5 star hotel

It was terrible, smelled like mold and mildew in the room and they refused to change me rooms even when there was a room available. There was black mold every where in the room.

It was a dump. Poorly maintained. The bathroom was falling apart and the tub was so slippery it was DANGEROUS. People fought in thier rooms so loudly it SCARED other quests. We would never stay there again.

The rooms are in need of good housekeeping.

This is a very old hotel, lots of up keep that needs to be done. The shower had mold, the walls were chipped. The tv's weren't hooked up to work. Lots of things wrong.

This hotel is very, very dirty and falling apart. The other negative reviews are accurate. The whole hotel smells like mold and mildew. All of our clothing and belongings reeked of mold after just a few hours in the room. I understand that this is a common issue by the coast and I expected a little bit but this was so strong that I could smell it in my hair when I was walking the beach. I bought a candle and room spray to battle the smell but it had zero effect. When we got to the room we could not get in. Turns out key card/door in our room was broken. Front desk told us we would have to push down, then up after inserting the card and door should open. So you better have 3 hands and move quickly if you want to enter your room. Oh also our TV broke and while that doesn’t sound like a big deal our room was pretty quiet so you could hear everyone around you all night long. I tried 3 separate times to have them fix our TV but kept getting brushed off. We ended up leaving a day early because we could not take it anymore. Also, Because it was after 11:0am “checkout time” the hotel would not work with me on refunding me the for the night we were not staying it was only 3:00pm when we decided to leave. I will say the air conditioning was super cold they have it set to 61 and that is great especially after breaking a sweat trying to use the key card. Looking back I think they set it so low to try and somehow help with the sever mold issue.

Disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms are dirty AC unit had a lot of dust and restroom had dirt and fridge didn’t even work

Property is old and showing it. Shower was not clean and needs to be redone. Hasn’t been kept up at all.

Large roaches or water bugs in room on two different days. I dead and the other alive. Also, on at least two occasions the soap holder in the shower area was cleaned and the ice bucket was not emplied and a new plastic bag not inserted.

Check in was simple and stress free. The room itself smelled like mildew but beds were comfortable. Breakfast was not good at all, biscuits and gravy had a weird taste, waffle that we made had a sour after taste and orange juice was bitter. Have had way better Breakfast elsewhere. Unfortunately may not be back to this location.

I booked this after my first choice fell through. The good- the staff was friendly, the air conditioning was cold, and the bed was super comfy. The bad is just about everything else. This hotel had obviously incurred water damage and the powers that be used the cheapest materials possible. Just about all the furniture in sight was covered in scratches, and neither door hung correctly causing light to enter the room. Fortunately I did not see any bugs which was a huge plus!! The ice machine was noticeably missing, as were any vending machines on the floor, I can’t speak for the rest of the hotel. Overall, the place is a hole with great air conditioning, clean towels, comfy bed, and friendly staff. I would not stay here again.

The bed and pillows were very hard. Very uncomfortable and I don’t usually complain! You could see the hallway lights through all four sides of the door so imagine how bright the room was at night and how noisy it was. Anyone who spoke or coughed in the hallway sounded like they were in the bed right beside you. When the doors close they slam so loud, that it sounds like it’s in your room. The one staff member we saw was very kind and informative. The room was very clean, and the balcony was nice although the view of the trashy empty lot beside the hotel can’t impress anyone. The shower was nice with great water pressure.

The property is somewhat dated. The fitted sheet was stained on one of the beds. Wi-Fi didn’t work. I requested late check out and, at check in, the agent confirmed my late check out for 1pm. On checkout day, several staff members knocked on the door prior to, at, and after 11a. Breakfast was lackluster. There was not a meat option and the eggs and coffee were watery. I do not recommend this property to others.

Check in was after 1am. Associate was professional and helpful. Room and bathroom were clean. No stains on the sheets or pillows, carpets, toilet, and shower. The refrigerator was nice and kept beverages cold. The room was on the 4th floor and we had a good view of the gulf. I didn’t get a chance to try breakfast because I slept in each morning. I almost canceled my reservation because of reviews I read. I’m glad I didn’t. I would stay here again.

Be warned for this hotel reaked of smoke. When we checked in the whole second floor reaked of smoke and we asked to move. They moved us to the 4th floor and it was better but still musty. The room walls, fixtures, and appliances all were damaged in varying extents. The front door you couldn’t open unless you pull the door handle up. The balcony door you can see the outside because the trim was missing. The fridge made a noise every 10 minutes. The tv remote was missing the back cover. The tv was 32 inch small and outdated. The bathroom sink was cracked and broken. Mild in shower floor.

The staff was rude, the wait for check-in was over an hour long. Staff was acting like they didn't want to cater to guest. Just flat out RUDE & U PROFESSIONAL

All the people were very pleasant, cheerful, helpful, professional and just simply nice. Next time I come to Galveston, which I hope to be very soon, I definitely will be staying here.

Air conditioning worked great. Property seems like minor maintenance isn’t frequent so things like the door didn’t open without scraping the floor, outlets and lighting by one side of the bed didn’t work. Monday breakfast somewhat sparse. Staff a WONDERFUL and accommodating!!! This team would fit in anywhere in the hospitality industry. They’re responsive and attentive.

We were there to enjoy fishing, weather was not so good very Windy. My husband came down with the flu. We had to cut our visit short we left a day early. And they refunded us for 1 night. Room was clean and staff was friendly.

The rooms smelled so bad like ac unit or humidity not sure but i was not going to complain until i got locked out of my room for an hour at 6am with my 2 kids! Nobody came to the front desk i even called reservations and they said someone would be there! Waited 40 minutes before i could get a good key card and the front desk had an attitude! They claimed they are on the seawall but they are behind a hotel that is actually on the sea wall! False advertisement??? Anyways im glad the night is over im ready to gtfooh!

The staff was very polite and very helpful. The room was clean and our housekeeper Everyday was very attentive and sweet and I was really appreciative of her. The value that you’re getting at this hotel and the location cannot be beat. Breakfast was also really good.

The lady at the front desk informed me about the owner's "policy" on service animals. I was told if i left my dog unattended in the room for any amount of time, they would call animal control to remobe my dog. Even if i had the do not disturb tag up. They had a small paper up front stating this. That means if we wanted to go to the pool, the dog had to go, beach, she had to go. My sevice animal is used at night for my condition, not during the day. Looking into ADA violation.

Outdated but clean. Staff were excellent and treated my family kindly.

This hotel is in a great location. Close to the beach, and quiet. The staff was great too.

Was a little disappointed that it was not ocean front like it states. The room was fine and it was clean. I really liked the fact that it has a balcony. The hotel did smell musty on entrance. Overall it was good. I would probably stay there again.

Excellent view of the gulf coast. Walking distance to waterfront.

Extremely good for the money. Friendly staff, and I loved to be on the quiet end of the beach.

They did not service any meat for breakfast, I wish that it was mention on web site. No veggie burgers or something like that.

The disappointment was primarily tied to breakfast. Web site states waffles, bacon eggs and more. We came down at 9:00 and there was no bacon, some eggs (we took minimal amount as others were entering the room), no fruit, some gravy and an empty pan that must have had biscuits? People were huddled around the two waffle makers for some time waiting for access. The room was fine, yet we returned from breakfast to see the door was ajar. There were a few staff cleaning rooms so we assume they checked our room, realized we were still on site and didn’t shut the door all the way. My son even gave an extra pull when leaving as we joked about shutting the door completely.

This property. So clean. Breakfast on weekends is super. Biscuits n gravy. Eggs. Waffles. And more. This weekend. Tv service kinda sucked. Almost every channel wasn’t working. But the room was awesome.

The room was very nice. The customer service was very helpful. They need a new waffle maker at the breakfast area. It wouldn’t heat. Actually they need two. Everyone wanted waffles and the wait is too long and the one they had wasn’t working.

Free breakfast is very limited especially when the hotel is full. One toaster, one waffle maker, no juice, ran out of milk which means no cereal.
