Hotel Ithaca

Breakfast order was messed up, 1 of 2 room keys didn’t work, and light on desk didn’t work and when fixed our door was left open , but other than that a nice place!

We were traveling there for our son to audition at Ithaca College. The room was very clean and and in a wonderful location. We had 2 issues. First, the dresser/ Tv console was broken and nailed closed on the side where a refrigerator normally would go. Upon request, housekeeping was quick to bring us a refrigerator and plugged it in for us. 2nd was the room temperature. It was hot all night long. As fellow northerners we like the room at 68 at night. However, the thermostat wouldn’t go below 70 and then kept reset to 72. It was a sweaty night of sleep. It was January so we were use to the cold temperatures. We would stay again but we would had to discuss the thermostat controls.

The hotel itself is very nice. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Check in is 4 pm but we did not get our room until 6 pm. They said they were full the night before and booked the night we checked in. They did give us complimentary breakfast vouchers due to the issue. The hotel is in walking distance to everything in downtown Ithaca which is great.

Room was fairly clean. Floor hadn’t been cleaned and shower wasn’t great. Stayed 3 nights and had to go look for refills on paper products and coffee supplies. Son also had a room and his tv didn’t work for the 2 nights he stayed even after multiple calls to the front desk. Maintenance came and left without fixing the tv or bringing a replacement. Probably will choose a different hotel next time.

We specifically booked this hotel because it had a pool, and when we arrived, we were told the pool was broken. That was extremely disappointing, as the pool was the main reason we chose this property in the first place. Had we known it wasn’t operational, we would have booked another hotel for the same price — one with a working pool. To make matters worse, the woman at the reception desk when we checked in was very rude and unwelcoming. After a long day of travel, that was the last thing we expected. Customer service sets the tone for a stay, and unfortunately, this started things off poorly. The overall condition of the hotel was unacceptable for the price we paid. The room felt dirty, and common areas were not maintained properly. The coffee station in the morning was filthy, and the garbage looked like it hadn’t been taken out in days. For what we were charged, it was honestly disgusting. I will say that the reception woman in the morning was very kind and did take $50 off the room, which we appreciated. However, even with that adjustment, we still could have stayed elsewhere for the same price and had a clean hotel with a functioning pool. I have photos documenting the condition of the property. Very disappointing experience overall.
