The staff was excellent and accommodating. The pool area was moldy, with moisture dripping from the ceiling. Our room was not too bad, but there was moisture dripping from the bathroom exhaust fan.

Great stay with my family! Spectacular view, awesome amenities (warmer-than-average pool, working sauna and hot tub, fire pit with cozy/romantic lighting), better than average breakfast (most of the things other places have but also a waffle maker and on one of the mornings they had sausage patties). The staff were all super friendly. Our room was right above where the fire pit was so I was worried about noise but we were not disturbed at all….honestly, I had to wonder if there were other people there at all because of how quiet it was. Our new favorite hotel!

My husband and I enjoyed our recent stay at the Surfland. Had a well-appointed room with stunning views and the fireplace was worth the additional charge--made it so cozy. The bed was comfy too. We enjoyed the pool, workout room and sauna--great amenities. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Great location and views, nice friendly staff and good breakfast. Grandkids made good use off the pool and the firepit was a nice touch. We had 4 rooms and a couple of them could have been better cleaned upon arrival.

I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and clean everything was. The price was right and I felt like I was staying at a much higher priced motel. I will definitely book again next time I visit the coast.

I would have given a 5 star rating, my only complaint is the room could've used a deep clean. Thick layer of dust visible on vents and thick layer on back of tv. We stayed 9 days and had new linens once, no big deal for us though. Breakfast could've had different options for meat choice. Just sausage and eggs each day,maybe ham or bacon to switch it up for extended stayers. Overall, we'd stay again in a heartbeat! Great central location!

With cleanliness there was a lack of attention to detail: smudges on door handles, stain on chairs, unclean windows. Need and bathroom were clean though. In pool “area” the tile looks soiled, and the walls and sauna look like something you’d find in an old camp ground…worn, weathered, dirty, cruddy. The pool and sauna itself were clean though. Pleasant staff though. Nice location.

When we checked in, everything went good at the office. When we got to our room, we were a little surprised on the layout. The King bed was in the main area and the queen bed was in the bedroom. The dresser in the bedroom had sand in the drawers, the light fixture over the bathroom sink was very dusty/dirty, sand on the floor by the bathroom, and the room overall didn't seem very clean. There was no screen on the slider going out to the deck. The view was amazing and it was fairly quiet during our stay. The lower parking lot is very tight. For most of the parking spaces, the shrubs and bushes were growing into the parking spaces. You risk scratching your paint on your vehicle if you fully pull into some of the spots. When i shared these things on checkout, they didn't seem that concerned.

Surfland has exceeded my expectations with this off season price. The room is quiet and exceptional clean. The room is well designed for the ease of guests use. I love the big window facing the ocean. It’s relaxing sitting by the window just staring at the ocean with a cup of coffee of tea! The location is also closed to shopping or restaurant area which is convenient. My kids love the heated swimming pool a lot while I enjoyed the hot tub. The hotel even includes fresh breakfast! Overall my family and I had a great time staying at Surfland!

The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, the toilet was strangely high, and it might be handy to have a little broom in the room to sweep up the sand. The very cute room we had was on the first floor and had a great view of the ocean. I would definitely stay here again.

Recent remodel, great ocean view from about 80\' up on the 2nd floor. French press and appropriate size coffee packets was a nice touch! I\'d prefer being able to open the windows wider, locks only allowed about 4" opening on either side. Room could get pretty warm in summer

Wow, the views from your windows here are amazing. Directly out to the sea and from some heights, it's a really amazing place for a hotel. It's a brilliant place to park in front of your window and just watch the ocean. It's rare to find a hotel I actually want to stay inside of. Love the gas fireplace, very nice touch. Free breakfast is nice as well. Parking is easy. Maintenance staff is cool. Dog relief areas are convenient. Hot tub and a sauna, awesome. Downsides - Rooms are small. I don't want to pay 150 - 180 (or i see on other weekend days its 200+) when I can hear the neighbors TV through the walls. I can only imagine what it would be like if you had partiers next to you. Or a screaming child (oh wait we had that and it was like the kid is in your room). 25 dollars a day per dog is expensive compared to most places that charge a one time fee. There is no way my small dog is doing more damage than the kids running around. Hope this helps with your decision making process.

The view was absolutely amazing. Having a balcony was the best thing ever!! we did not want to leave. The bed was comfortable. The room was kinda small, but fine for 2 people for a couple days. The breakfast was perfect. Biscuits and gravy eggs, fruit, yogurts, Sausage, cereal pastries. everything you pretty much could want. And again, having the balcony was amazing.I would definitely recommend it!

The hotel staff were kind and tried to be helpful with the issues we had. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and we let them know it. I would have hoped that they would have checked in advance that the room we were to stay in was one of the ones that were in good/great condition. The room was clean, thankfully, the staff are conscientious and seem to care about their job. The window seals however, were so blown that the view was like looking through cloudy glass, making photos of the ocean impossible. The people above were noisy on night 2 so it was difficult to sleep. The cable quit one night and we had to get a master remote to log into our own apps to see any shows to relax in the evening. The windows were "Stopped at about 4" so no one could break in" (on the second floor) Hmmm. So the room was warm and there was no A/C. The staff brought us a fan to help but it was so dusty we just left it off and dealt with it another night. There was no offer of a comped night in the future, a move to a different room or a discount. This maybe, would be ok, IF it was just any day for people but it was a big let down for our anniversary. I emailed management but never heard back. The breakfasts were tasty. Not top quality but better than some we have experienced in other hotels. So that was ok. I loved the beach access though it is a long walk down and then back up again, for some it would be too difficult but we made it ok and enjoyed our walks on the beach. Check in and out was easy.

It’s a very nice hotel. The view is spectacular. The picture is what we saw from our window. It’s very well positioned. We walked along the beach any direction we were headed and then cut back up to the main road. We were within an easy 1 mile beach walk from everything we cared about. Only negatives are that it doesn’t have any air conditioning and it’s very creaky. We were on the second floor and could hear constant creaking around 7:45 when the people above us got up. Try to get the top floor!

It was such a pleasant hotel to stay at, I did have a hard time sleeping on the best because they are so hard. That's a me problem not the hotel's problem. I will remember that for next time I may bring my own foam mattress topper. Mel at the front desk was a delight to work with. She is very kind and funny. I felt safe at this hotel!!!! Thanks everyone for a great time.

LOVE. They called to let me know my room was ready early. The pressed coffee. The view. The personal phone call to make sure everything was to my liking. Easy parking. The walk to the beach. The snacks in the lobby. The girls at the desk. Traveling solo with my toddler i always feel mom shamed at nice places. I felt welcomed here and it was SO nice and relaxing. Our room is STUNNING!

The property is nice and the rooms are decent. However the manager was rude and although they say they are dog friendly, the manager is clearly not a dog person. They rented me a room then when I checked in stated the room was not a dog friendly room and downgraded me. They did not allow a service dog in the breakfast area either. The other staff lady was very kind but clearly had no voice in the matter.

Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful view from room. Pool and hot tub was great. Free breakfast had lots to choose from eggs, sausage,waffles,cereal..etc. nice beach access to explore beach. Plenty of parking, check in was very easy. Room wasnt ready yet but they called when it was ready. Very friendly staff. Will definitely will be returning and recommend to anyone

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel with lovely views. The rooms are spacious and clean, and we appreciated having a working refrigerator and microwave. During our 2-night stay, we got so used to waking up to the sound of waves and the beach that we miss it now that we're back home. The big, wide windows made it feel like a cruise experience! We loved the sunsets and morning walks on the beach. There are a few steep walkway / steps to get to the beach and back to the hotel, but it was worth it. Parking was great and easy to find. The hotel is on a quiet street, which we loved, yet it was accessible and safe. The breakfast options were excellent, and the staff was very friendly. Our rooms were on the first floor, and while we could hear footsteps from the floor above, it didn't bother us much as we were usually tired and fell asleep quickly. We would love to come back again and will definitely recommend this place to all our friends!

The hotel was quiet, clean and right on the beach. Our room was renovated and had a large window facing the ocean. We walked the beach..it was flat and beautiful. Fabulous sunset! Restaurants were close by. Well priced for a good night’s rest while traveling. Would stay here again

We would stay here again. This is a well maintained and updated ocean front accommodation. We had a choice of good restaurants nearby within walking distance. View from room is amazing and there is easy beach access. Good value at a good price.

I would have given a 5 star rating, my only complaint is the room could've used a deep clean. Thick layer of dust visible on vents and thick layer on back of tv. We stayed 9 days and had new linens once, no big deal for us though. Breakfast could've had different options for meat choice. Just sausage and eggs each day,maybe ham or bacon to switch it up for extended stayers. Overall, we'd stay again in a heartbeat! Great central location!

We had an amazing time staying at the surfland over the king tides weekend. Check in was easy, the service was great. The coffee and the french press in the room was a nice surpise. The view from the room was spectacular, the fireplace and the sound of the ocean at night was everything I needed! Breakfast was included, and okay - fresh fruit would have been nice. However the staff in the dining area were friendly and made sure that the hot food was always fresh. And good coffee was a plus. Beach access was a long, somewhat steep staircase. It was wel lit and we had no problems with it. Would definitely return, and recommend to others.

We loved our stay the only suggestions would be that the Buffet food be a lot hotter, (maybe turn up the heat under buffet pans?) a bowl of fresh cut fruit....different selection each day? All our days there was the same buffet....scrambled eggs and sausage patties. Everything else at your property was totally AWESOME! We loved it there and WILL BE BACK!!

Overall the hotel was good. The views were amazing. The breakfast was decent.The rooms could use a little TLC. My room had what looked like black mold on a corner of the ceiling. All the property did was say they would treat it. They didn’t offer any discount to my stay or any other kind of compensation.
