Laundry service was broken. A/C was broken on the last 2 days. Rooms needed a lot of small repairs. Elevators and key cards worked MOST of the time. Beach Club (Bagatelle) was a scam and didn’t honor our Free entry nor $0 minimum spend. Rooms are very small but functional. Rooftop pool and gym saved the trip experience along with the service from Marco & Israel at the rooftop restaurant (operates separately from the Hilton Motto) overall worth ~ $100 usd/per night, but not more…

Very glad we picked this hotel! It has a great location at the edge of the city of Tulum. All around you are shops, restaurants, bars, and if you want to go to the beach it's a short bike ride away. Hotel felt super safe with an awesome rooftop pool to getaway from all of the hustle and bustle of the beach for a day. Pool has awesome service with tasty snacks. We rented a car so the free safe parking located underneath the hotel was an awesome. The hotel room has a nice hostel vibe but was small and cozy which I liked! Had zero issues and would definitely stay there again.

The shampoo bottle was almost empty on arrival and wasn’t refilled even after requesting it, requiring two follow-ups. The fridge still contained leftover food from previous guests. The sink had an unpleasant smell.The hot water never got properly hot, even when turned fully up. The room was quite small, and the towels were not crisp or fresh/white-looking. Customer service was particularly disappointing. Reception felt disorganised and not very customer-centric, with emails full of typos and staff asking for details that had already been provided the day before. I was given a Wi-Fi password on a typed note, but it was completely incorrect and different from the actual password. There were no umbrellas available, no partnerships with tour providers, and the location itself wasn’t especially convenient. That said, there were a few positives. The lobby and pool areas are attractive, and the gym is well equipped.

This was a really nice place to stay. Comfortable and clean rooms great AC okay water pressure and comfortable bed. The front desk staff were great even let us tour the rooms before we booked and the welcome drunk was delicious. The one downside is all of the towels had at least one brown stain on them. I have no idea what that is about but it almost became a joke to look to see where the brown stain would be in your towel. Other cons: no water bottles or cups/coffee in the room, the waitstaff for the rooftop is rude and they pressure you to spend more money.

I got bed bugs from staying at this property. I thought they were mosquitoes bites at first, but realized after the 2nd night bed bug bites. The toilet clogged and the noise around my room was disgusting. Nobody came to clean my room after the 1st night until after 3pm. I know bc I was taking a nap. I let the front desk know I would be out and came back and room was still not cleaned. I had to ask for bath rags because none were provided. Place also looks a little run down since photos were taken. In all my travels this by far was the worst hotel I stayed in. Not worth trying to save a little money in the end.

The hotel is just new and has all the potential for a great stay, but currently some of the little things just make it not a 5/5. Our room wasn’t clean (there were nail clippings in the sink!) and when we mentioned it to the desk, it took 2 days for it to be actually cleaned.. in tulum you basically go everywhere by bike, but a 2 person room only gets 1 bike.. so you still end up paying. Also the rooftop and pool are actually shared with another hotel (that’s opening soon -> expect some construction..) so although it’s an amazing place, it’s not private for the hotel and expect it to be packed when it’s being shared across hotels. All in all 3/5 for a nice hotel and ok experience, with def opportunity to improve!

Excellent service at Motto Tulum. Lots of amenities and things to do nearby. Free parking and there are rentals for bikes and scooters, Pool is beautiful and great poolside service and poolside restaurants. This place is designed really nicely. Rooms are small but meant to tap into a simplistic hotel stay and encourage you to go out and explore. Also very very impeccable cleaning.

Whispers can be heard between rooms, through the connecting doors, which happen to be on both sides of the room. Very hard to sleep and no privacy. It’s feels like the people next door are with you in the room. The rooms are small, they have a desk but it’s so close to the bed it’s not usable. If you call front desk with this complaint they say no cancellation, talk to you neighbor. True story

The pros: helpful front desk staff, good drinks at the rooftop bar, rooftop pool is pretty and has plenty of daybeds with umbrellas, easy to get a taxi outside, walking distance to restaurants & bars, 5-10 minute drive to beach resort area (granted it’s still going to cost you upwards of 400 pesos in a taxi). Cons: lower levels on odd room numbers overlook a bar that plays music until past midnight, which is tough for light sleepers. Food is overpriced, especially breakfast. $20/day resort fee ($10 is a credit to restaurant). Rooms are tiny, like NYC sized. AC inconsistent - first room worked perfectly and second room wouldn’t go below 75 degrees. Bed is firmer than other Hilton properties I’ve stayed at. The beach clubs they partner with (Bagatelle and Mia) still charge a fee.

Leider für einen längeren Aufenthalt unpraktisch. Das Fenster im sehr kleinen Zimmer lässt sich nicht öffnen. Bis auf vier Bügel, keine Möglichkeit Sachen aufzuhängen. Aufgrund der kleinen Zimmergröße, mit zwei Koffern problematisch. Keine Toilettentür zum schließen, nur zum schieben, sodass alles zu hören ist. Ebenfalls sind die Lüftung und alles auf dem Flur zu hören.

Rooms resemble hostels and don’t look anything like the photo. It’s extremely small. There is no closet to hang your clothes. Music was playing very loud everyday till 3am in the area facing the outside bar. It was hard to sleep. The floor was very dirty and felt like walking on the street. Queen bed seems more like a full size in person. Too many light switches all over the room which isn’t efficient. They weren’t able to provide an iron and table for ironing clothes. Our room had ants.

The general areas was really nice (lobby, roof top etc) and friendly staff! However we also stayed by the beach in Tulum which u preferred way more - the hotel area here is not the best. Also the rooms was not that spacious.

Overall, I am disappointed for the way that I was treated. I noticed others having top tier service and I was ignored. There were 6 servers in the pool area and it took an hour for someone to approach me. Only 1 server was really nice to me.

Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Location was great, hotel was great with lots of amenities nearby and most of all the staff were fantastic. Really helpful, knowledgeable and friendly at all times. If visiting Tulum again I'd definitely go back!

The property was clean. The staff was beyond amazing! The rooms were a bit on the small end but cozy. The rooftop was beautiful and the food and drinks were great! The food trucks downstairs and live DJ and bar was an added bonus! Not to mention the cute small shops and cafe. I would give this property a 10 out of 10!

This hotel is very clean, it smells like a spa the minute you walk in. The staff is welcoming and informative. They give you information and will help you with anything you need. The pool area is very nice. The only thing I would say is a con is the rooms are small and there are only two restaurants, however there is plenty of dining options within walking distance.special thanks to Leo, and Clara!

Very glad we picked this hotel! It has a great location at the edge of the city of Tulum. All around you are shops, restaurants, bars, and if you want to go to the beach it's a short bike ride away. Hotel felt super safe with an awesome rooftop pool to getaway from all of the hustle and bustle of the beach for a day. Pool has awesome service with tasty snacks. We rented a car so the free safe parking located underneath the hotel was an awesome. The hotel room has a nice hostel vibe but was small and cozy which I liked! Had zero issues and would definitely stay there again.

The general areas was really nice (lobby, roof top etc) and friendly staff! However we also stayed by the beach in Tulum which u preferred way more - the hotel area here is not the best. Also the rooms was not that spacious.

The pros: helpful front desk staff, good drinks at the rooftop bar, rooftop pool is pretty and has plenty of daybeds with umbrellas, easy to get a taxi outside, walking distance to restaurants & bars, 5-10 minute drive to beach resort area (granted it’s still going to cost you upwards of 400 pesos in a taxi). Cons: lower levels on odd room numbers overlook a bar that plays music until past midnight, which is tough for light sleepers. Food is overpriced, especially breakfast. $20/day resort fee ($10 is a credit to restaurant). Rooms are tiny, like NYC sized. AC inconsistent - first room worked perfectly and second room wouldn’t go below 75 degrees. Bed is firmer than other Hilton properties I’ve stayed at. The beach clubs they partner with (Bagatelle and Mia) still charge a fee.

I would not recommend anyone to stay here based on the location. Tulum has sadly become a mafia-controlled tourist trap and it was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had. This hotel is super nice and shiny, but beware you will be in an area that’s still underdeveloped, the taxi cartels have blocked Uber and similar services and they charge ridiculously amounts of money to take you to the beach which is less than 5 minutes away. The restaurants around look nice, but the food is actually terrible and the prices are also ridiculous. And the food at the hotel is really bad and the cocktails tasted like they’ve been watered down. I’m Mexican and I’m shocked to see what this majestic place has become, thanks to influencers and cartels wanting to take advantage of the hype to rip off tourists. It’s a real shame. I would advice to stay in Playa del Carmen or Cancun, where at least you can find good, regularly-priced tacos and seafood and you can easily access the beach.

No complimentary waters or anything You pay extra for the rooftop pool but the pool itself needs maintenance - the tiles were falling apart and nearly cut myself a few times. Not sure why you pay extra for pool access which should surely be available to all guests who stay at the hotel. Location is ok but taxis will often try and charge you whatever price they want so be prepared for that as there aren’t many things in walking distance
