We paid a little more and chose this hotel for the indoor pool (we were in town for a youth sporting event). We arrived only to find out that the pool closed at 8pm (on a Saturday!) and didn’t reopen until 9am. Sadly, kids weren’t able to use the pool, which was the primary reason i selected this hotel. Hotel was clean and breakfast was decent. Parking was great and it’s an easy drive.

We booked the hotel because it had a pool, informed on our second day that the pool was reservation only, we made a reservation for the next morning, woke up early and arrived to the pool closed because of the cleaning crew vacuuming and shocking the water. Never was able to use the pool we paid for.

Staff was very friendly, parking was a bit tight because hotel seems to be crowded on this particular night that we stayed. Breakfast was ok, I did not expected better for a hotel free breakfast. Bathroom floors were very slippery almost fell in the bathroom. Overall hotel was good.

Picked this location because it was close to where we were and because it had a pool. But unfortunately kids left unhappy because pool was closed wich sucked . Wish it said that the pool was closed on the sight before making reservations

Great hotel right off the highway. 1 nigjt stop on our way north. Great front desk person. Quick check in. Bed and pillows were good. Clean. Breakfast was typical and fine. Plenty of parking. Lots of restaurants around.

Picked this hotel specifically for the heated pool. 24 hours after I made my reservation, I received an email informing me that the pool requires reservations and it’s open limited hours until 6pm and closed Sundays. Called the hotel and reserved for one hour. Was informed I could have 7-8 pm. 2 hours past their closing hours. At check in, was told that my reservation for the pool was a day after my check out and this was blamed on me. Eventually, through my persistence, front desk contacted the room who booked the pool and they agreed to share the pool space. Made-up policies, poor communication, evasive service and lack of ownership…. Yes, the hotel is clean and well apportioned, but so are so many other hotels. With so many options in the area, this Bonvoy traveler will not book this hotel again.

I chose this hotel because they had a pool. But when we checked in the pool was under maintenance. So we could not use it. I wish I would have known because I probably would have chosen another hotel with a pool but other than that, the hotel was nice.

Staff was friendly. But, property is a little dated & needs some TLC in the rooms. Stained ceilings & wallpaper peeling off, discolored, etc. Pool was closed for maintenance. Would be nice to post that to people ahead of time. Breakfast was decent. I usually stay at Fairfield Inn when I travel. They've always been great. This location wasn't terrible but definitely needs some better upkeep & TLC.

Every year, my sister and I try to take our mom, who is 93 years old. To visit her sister, who is 89 years old and lives in Newcastle Delaware. We stayed in a bedroom suite, which was very spacious and comfortable. It was very nice to have the sitting area, to visit and relax. Of course, we gave the big bed to our mom and aunt. My sister and I slept on the fold out couch, which honestly could use a little more cushioning.😀 But besides that one little factor. Every employee that we encountered from the time, we walked in the front door and checked in until three days later when we checked out and left. They were all so warm, welcoming, kind, and very helpful. Unfortunately, I don’t remember all their names, but I do remember Amanda the manager who we talk to many times over the weekend. She always asked how things were going. She gave us suggestions of things to do and places to go eat. The other staff working in the front desk were just as helpful and friendly. We met some of your housekeeping staff who were also just as kind and courteous and offered suggestions of places to go and eat. I remember one in particular and I believe her name is also Amanda. You have a wonderful team working at this Fairfield Inn. We will definitely come back and I would recommend it to anyone that would be traveling in that area.

What l need from hotel room is a good shower and bed to sleep in. The shower was good but I couldn’t sleep with the noise. The AC in the room changed mode loudly , the sound from the street was also super loud Not recommended

The property is clean and well-maintained. Hotel room air-conditioning is loud and might be broken. We have tried to turn on the heat mode, but it automatically switches to "cool" mode after heating for 3-5 minutes. Besides, air-conditioning / heater\'s noise is a little loud to disturb sleep. We had to shut down the machine\'s power to have a quiet night.

Our experience at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Wilmington New Castle was great! We highly recommend this hotel due to its great accommodations and most importantly for the amazing hospitality we experienced from the hotel staff. Everyone at the front desk and housekeeping was helpful from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. Huge thank you to Maurkyna, the front desk manager who helped my husband and I try to find his lost wallet while we switched rooms. She went above and beyond trying to help locate this wallet and we will forever be grateful for all her care and time spent.

Long story short, I travelled from Atlanta for a one night stay with 4 teenagers and my 84 year old father. We arrived after midnight and, after a 12 hour drive, we were absolutely exhausted. Not to mention, my fathers knees and ankles were swollen for some reason and needed to go to bed. I left my ID at home but had a photo copy of my drivers licence. The overnight clerk refused to allow us to check in, insisting that i must present a physical ID or go to a different hotel. She claimed that checking into a hotel was the same as getting onto an airplane, which requires an ID. I booked 3 rooms though a 3rd party. After I insisted that the other two rooms were for my husband and my Dad, she let them checkin after the showed ID. However, she refused to allow me to check into the 3rd room, which I was going to share with my 3 teenage daughters. My huaband had to book a room for me, which resulted in us paying twice for the room. She was basically on a power trip. If i was not with my husband, she would have turned me, 4 teenagers, and my elderly father away in the cold rainy night. Sad. The following morning, I spoke with her manager, who was great. She apologized profusely and agreed that the night clerk was out of line. This should be a training opportunity for the night clerk whi obviously has some personal issues.

We stayed here because we had a early morning flight from Wilmington airport. It's was a 5 minute drive. If I stay here again I will ask for a room in the back. We were in the front and the traffic was guite loud. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep. . The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The coffee in the lobby was cold .

Just stopped in for an overnight on a road trip. Very clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly. You can hear the highway traffic a little but I sleep with the tv on so it didn’t bother me. The area seemed safe, it shares a side street with a cute little neighborhood. I did realize the next day that it isn’t far from a women’s correctional place. I don’t think that would deter me from staying there again, just an observation. Overall highly recommend.

We couldn't have asked for more. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was bright, clean and comfortable. My spouse said: "I want to live here. I love that shower!" Breakfast was plentiful -- a varied menu with something for everyone. The woman in charge was friendly and attentive. Best of all, the price was right.

Pros--safe,clean, easy on highway. Well u expect that when u book marriott Cons--breakfast time and breakfast quality. only open till 9 am. did not tell us on arrival about breakfast time. Swimming pool is very very small.
