I got a call earlier in the day from Gary asking when I would arrive. When I called back he told me how to get there and what to expect. When we arrived he welcomed us. Gave us a tour and history of the house. And showed us where we found find drinks, snacks, etc. Then he showed us our room. The room was cool and comfy bed. The only thing was that the jacuzzi tub was so big it made for a smaller bathroom. We only stayed one night and had to leave early so we were not able to get breakfast (we told him not to worry about getting up early for us) but he had left yummy homemade bread for us.

Old Northside Historical District, hence the name. Coffee, restaurants, bars, all within a mile or less walking distance. Parking behind the building. It's a very old home (1880s) with creaking floors, a narrow staircase, etc., so if that kind of stuff is a bother, you might choose elsewhere. Otherwise, you'll enjoy your stay here, much more than a hotel in the downtown area. Gary is a terrific host who likes to bake. The breakfasts are fantastic and he has homemade cookies to snack all day. You don't need to order dessert when you go out to eat. He also has hundreds of movies to watch on the big-screen in your room (along with streaming services) if you choose to stay in or make it an early night. And he's an entertaining conversationalist. Honestly, I felt like a boarder as much I did a hotel guest.

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here. It was super cool staying in a historic home. The owner was very nice and gave us a tour of the home sharing it’s history. If you are a movie lover then you will love the hundreds (I’m not exaggerating) of movies you can borrow to enjoy in your room during your stay. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower had really nice water pressure with plenty of hot water. The host provided plenty of free bottles of water and soda in the shared fridge. He made several kinds of homemade cookies that were very yummy. The breakfast was very good offering a hot dish every morning along with cereal, toast, bagels, doughnuts, and even homemade banana nut bread! We really enjoyed our stay. I do want to say that Expedia says the Children’s Museum is walking distance. It is NOT. It is a very short drive and the museum has free parking if that is where you are planning to visit. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe to walk during the day. It is walkable to Massachusetts Avenue during the day where there are a lot of little shops and fantastic restaurants. But, as a person who is from Indianapolis, after dark it is not walkable but a very short drive (with plenty of parking) or Uber ride to Mass Ave and downtown Indianapolis. I highly recommend this BnB. My husband and I really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again.

The home was rebuild in the original style with lots of home comforts like mini bar filled with water and sodas. Jars of fresh backed cookies and candy are a nice late night snack. The room is beautiful and clean with amenities. We highly recommend staying.

The host was welcoming. Beautiful late 1800s home. The breakfast presentation and variety were nice. It has several parking spaces with surveillance cameras. He has fresh baked goods, snacks, beverages, and ice available all the time. Movies galore to choose from. A piano to play and books to read. Accommodating with check-in and check-out times. The room had a smart TV, DVD/VHS player, hairdryer, and Wi-Fi. In my private bath, it was supplied with travel-size soap, shampoo, and full-size shampoo and conditioner. Towel presentation was nice, and so was the quality of the towels and washcloths. The bed and linens were comfortable. I stayed two nights. Everything was positive besides my room being very dusty. All the decor, wall decor, baseboards, and HVAC registers were covered in dust. I have severe allergies to dust. I didn't sleep well from being super itchy, and my sinuses from the dust, even though I took a variety of allergy meds. I found prescription meds on the sink vanity that was pushed up next to a decoration piece. Looked like it had been there a while. I did toss them. Be clear on the time you're wanting breakfast. Close to downtown. Uber was under $7, cheaper than paying for parking downtown. If I visit Indianapolis again, I would stay again if I knew the rooms were recently dusted.

Lovely house built in 1885 and meticulously restored in Victorian woodwork and decorating touches. Extensive movie and book collection provided. Snacks, water, sodas all included, even home baked cookies! Breakfast was variety of quiche, fresh fruits, waffles, even homemade banana bread! The area is tree-lined with lovely updated old houses. Gary is a fantastic host- friendly, generous, and informative. We loved everything! Thank you.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay in the Bridal Room. The room was spacious and comfy. We took advantage of the homemade cookies and snacks offered downstairs, as well as the delicious breakfast. I like how Gary let us choose the time we wanted breakfast so that it was ready when we were. The location is convenient to downtown, as well as Midtown/Broad Ripple. The free off-street parking makes this place a huge bargain when compared to downtown hotels. We will definitely stay here again and recommend to others!

Gary was very friendly and the rooms were clean and neat. The vhs movie selection was impressive and the jacuzzi tub was wonderful after a long day driving. Breakfast was simple but nice, and the people were very kind.

The B&B is a beautiful late 1800's building that has been very well maintained and all of its interior beauty has been preserved. The owner, Gary, is the absolutely best host. His attention to details is terrific. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Indy.

This is the second time that I have stayed at the old Northside bed and breakfast. It is a very Charming place and each room has its own theme. I stayed in the Hollywood room. The only thing that I did not like is that this room has a crack running down the wall. Some people may not notice this because of all the decoration on that wall but I did notice it. Breakfast was excellent and meeting some of the other people that stayed last night was also fun. I had a really nice conversation with the proprietor and with the other guests.

The property was very well maintained and comfortable. The location of the property was convenient to the location for my business meetings. The hospitality extended by Gary was excellent. Overall, a great first stay. Will try to make it back for future trips.

I had a quiet relaxing stay at Old Northside Bed & Breakfast this weekend. The innkeeper Gary and his wife JoAnn were friendly and helpful. The property is very unique and my stay in the Hollywood room was fun and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was delicious! I recommend it and will return.

We stayed in the Literary Room, and it was amazing. The king bed was super comfortable and the jet bath tub made for two was super relaxing before bedtime. And Danny, our host, was amazing and super accommodating. From nightlife recommendations to the history of the bed and breakfast, you could ask him anything about the area, and he was quick to respond. He made a really good fluffy quiche for breakfast, too. I would highly recommend this place!

I got a call earlier in the day from Gary asking when I would arrive. When I called back he told me how to get there and what to expect. When we arrived he welcomed us. Gave us a tour and history of the house. And showed us where we found find drinks, snacks, etc. Then he showed us our room. The room was cool and comfy bed. The only thing was that the jacuzzi tub was so big it made for a smaller bathroom. We only stayed one night and had to leave early so we were not able to get breakfast (we told him not to worry about getting up early for us) but he had left yummy homemade bread for us.

The immediate area is an older neighborhood but beyond a couple of blocks it deteriorates quickly. The quaint front entry is apparently for show as you enter the premises from a rear alley parking area. We arrived at the property and were given a brief tour by the proprietor. His highlight included showing us 3000+ DVD and VHS videos that we could use. We needed to schedule our breakfast time 24 hours in advance. Guest rooms can be locked from the inside but you cannot secure your belongings when you are not on the premises since there are no room keys.

And Danny, our host, was amazing and super accommodating. From nightlife recommendations to the history of the bed and breakfast, you could ask him anything about the area, and he was quick to respond. He made a really good fluffy quiche for breakfast, too. I would highly recommend this place!

This is a hidden gem! The B&B is awesome; however, the hosts are the main reason this place is so amazing. It was my bday and when we returned from our concert, they had placed fresh flowers and bday wishes in our room. As if that weren’t sweet enough, they told us if we had any trouble after the concert getting an Uber to call them. There were no Uber rides available- It was after midnight, they didn’t blink an eye - showed up to take us back to the B&B. The bed was so comfortable that we didn’t move all night. Woke up to a fabulous hot breakfast. I hesitate to rave any more about this little gem because I hate to see it so busy that they are always booked. 😢

It's a very old home (1880s) with creaking floors, a narrow staircase, etc., so if that kind of stuff is a bother, you might choose elsewhere. Otherwise, you'll enjoy your stay here, much more than a hotel in the downtown area. Gary is a terrific host who likes to bake. The breakfasts are fantastic and he has homemade cookies to snack all day. You don't need to order dessert when you go out to eat. He also has hundreds of movies to watch on the big-screen in your room (along with streaming services) if you choose to stay in or make it an early night. And he's an entertaining conversationalist. Honestly, I felt like a boarder as much I did a hotel guest.

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here. It was super cool staying in a historic home. The owner was very nice and gave us a tour of the home sharing it’s history. If you are a movie lover then you will love the hundreds (I’m not exaggerating) of movies you can borrow to enjoy in your room during your stay. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower had really nice water pressure with plenty of hot water. The host provided plenty of free bottles of water and soda in the shared fridge. He made several kinds of homemade cookies that were very yummy. The breakfast was very good offering a hot dish every morning along with cereal, toast, bagels, doughnuts, and even homemade banana nut bread! We really enjoyed our stay. I do want to say that Expedia says the Children’s Museum is walking distance. It is NOT. It is a very short drive and the museum has free parking if that is where you are planning to visit. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe to walk during the day. It is walkable to Massachusetts Avenue during the day where there are a lot of little shops and fantastic restaurants. But, as a person who is from Indianapolis, after dark it is not walkable but a very short drive (with plenty of parking) or Uber ride to Mass Ave and downtown Indianapolis. I highly recommend this BnB. My husband and I really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay in the Bridal Room. The room was spacious and comfy. We took advantage of the homemade cookies and snacks offered downstairs, as well as the delicious breakfast. I like how Gary let us choose the time we wanted breakfast so that it was ready when we were. The location is convenient to downtown, as well as Midtown/Broad Ripple. The free off-street parking makes this place a huge bargain when compared to downtown hotels. We will definitely stay here again and recommend to others!
