We heard about the Hewing from friends and we loved everything including the lobby/bar, our room, it was clean nice and we really enjoyed the rooftop hot tub. 10/10 and we will be back.

The only thing that I didn't like was the parking. It's either valet or walk a couple of blocks to park your vehicle. There is no place to park when checking in. Had to park illegally, to check in. Drove around until we could find a place.

The Hewing is a beautiful hotel but the service and ambience is subpar. I was disappointed about the 5 star price but 3 star service. The bartenders and waiters are understaffed and unfriendly. The valet was slow. There should be attendants at the door to help guests bring in items and luggage. We also tried to go in the hottub but there were 21 people (when the limit is 13).

This is a fun spot to stay, and we really enjoyed our overnight—until we woke up to find that both of our cars had been vandalized and one was stolen from in the parking ramp. While this was obviously unfortunate, the staff was kind and assured us that the valet company would reach out and "take care of everything." However, when we received an email from the valet company, it stated that we would need to file claims through our own insurance instead. Not quite as helpful as it was made to sound.

I decided to stay at this hotel because it has a pool on a rooftop. I booked the hotel a couple of weeks prior to my stay. Less than 24 hours before I received I message that they will be hosting a concert on a rooftop but as a guest we can still use amenities. I was disappointed but decided to still give it a shot. Long story short, I did not enjoy my time by the pool because of all the drunk, noisy people from the street that come and go. Because there were a lot of people, the area was not properly cleaned, and the floor was covered with plastic bottles, chairs everywhere, and glassware from alcoholic drinks. I wish hotel notified me about the concert prior to my booking, I would not stay there.

The staff could not have been better. Accurate, friendly, competent and attentive. LOVE the hotel and will stay again. The room cleanliness was great. They just need to pay attention to details in an ocd type of way. Make sure every morsel of the room is tented to. But overall great.

Our stay could not have been better. We especially appreciated the noon checkout that allowed us to enjoy the sauna, hot tub and workout facilities in the morning. The staff were all very helpful and accommodating. Our room was so quaint and very clean.

this hotel looks cute online and it looked like it was in a great area (it was), however it left a lot to be desired. We were there over the july 4th weekend, however our room was never served on 7/4. they refreshed the towels and made the bed, but nothing else. they did not refresh the dirty glasses, bathroom sundries or clean up the room in any way. In addition, the hallway carpeting was dirty and stained. the carpeting in our room was ripped at the threshold of the bathroom, as were the towels and sheets. Both the desk chair and the headboard were material, which i do not like, it feels very dirty. The bathroom floor was sticky (which can be from too much soap). in addition, the safe did not work and I had to call 3 times to get someone up to the room so that we could leave.

My stay at Hewing Hotel was amazing! It was just what I needed after a long car ride from the east coast. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly making check in and out a breeze. The heated spa pool on the roof overlooking downtown Minneapolis was extremely relaxing and it is nice that it is open 7am-midnight most days. I also took part in the High Fika high tea service that they offer on the rooftop on saturdays. It was an amazing trip and would stay here again when passing through Minneapolis.

The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic. Our room was very stylish and clean. We enjoyed the roof top bar and had a delicious dinner in the attached restaurant, Tullibee. This will definitely not be our last stay there.

Best hotel to stay at in Minneapolis! The hotel has such a cozy atmosphere to it. The restaurant is a great option for a weekend brunch. The best part by far is the roof top hot tub. We stayed over a warm weekend in March and the hot tub/area was never too busy. Only complaint is that the room we had on the top floor (5th floor) had a window that was really high up so didn't get any view of the city from our room. That was overshadowed by the fact that the room itself was still so comfortable.

Stylish, well laid out, fun, welcoming -- I could go on! I will absolutely stay here again. I was visiting for work, so I happened to grab breakfast at Tullibee downstairs each morning before I headed out for the day. I would visit just to eat there again! Overall, highly recommend. I was sad to leave.

Very nice hotel and great staff. Only complaints were: Not enough lighting in room. The sink water - hot was hot and cold was cold, but if you tried to make it warm, by turning on hot and cold at same time it was only hot water that would come out?

For the price per night I was disappointed in a few things. One of the beds in our room had a broken box spring and was awful, the toilet was half working. The rooftop bar are smelt like rotten fish, it had just rained and all the outdoor furniture was wet and should have been wiped down for use. When paying over $300 a night I would expect better!

The property itself is beautiful, and the rooms are clean, but for the price, a complimentary bottle of water in the room would be expected. Upon arrival, we were offered an “upgrade” to a better room—one that actually had a proper window. The room we stayed in had a window that was half-buried in the ground, making it feel more like a basement than a guest room. The biggest disappointment, however, was the sauna. Not only was it outdated, but it was also filthy. There were no signs or instructions advising guests to sit on towels, meaning people were sweating directly onto the benches. It was absolutely disgusting!

There were very loud noises in the rooms at night; we had two rooms and both experienced sounds loud enough to wake us up multiple times. Hard to tell if it was the cracking booming and popping of building materials contracting in the cold air or the room refrigerator or something else. But it did not make for a good nights sleep. We’ve never experienced anything like it in any other hotel.

Staff was friendly and accommodating, property was stylish and clean. The valet team get special note here, they were stellar I getting our vehicle in and out quickly! Only issue we had was the comfort of the bed. We had a king, and it felt as if there was a large soft spot in the center of the mattress. *To be fair, we prefer a firmer mattress. And... Great coffee available in the lobby every AM! We will certainly return.

Great property with lovely bar area and great food. Felt very comfortable sitting at the bar on my own eating dinner. The one thing I would have feedback on was that on check in the staff member was great but the front desk staff were not as attentive at other times. Also the bellboy didn't get my luggage for me and I had to lift it over some big piles of snow. They were also not very knowledgable about the area surrounding the hotel

Check in wasn’t ideal. We were first told we needed to pay the full rate when I had already paid hotels.com and showed them the receipt. I was told my card was declined and was given a card number which wasn’t mine as “proof”. Finally they were able to find my payment however my CC bill shows that they charged me an additional room rate after putting a hold for incidentals. I’m still waiting for that to disappear. Not sure if they had no idea how to do their job or were trying to pull something funny. It’s too bad because the hotel was nice and had good reviews. The area of MSP becomes a little sketchy at night. During the day it was fine. We parked in a ramp 2 blocks away for security for our car. The room was nice. Check in wasn’t ideal. We were first told we needed to pay the full rate when I had already paid hotels.com and showed them the receipt. I was told my card was declined and was given a card number which wasn’t mine as “proof”. Finally they were able to find my payment however my CC bill shows that they charged me an additional room rate after putting a hold for incidentals. I’m still waiting for that to disappear. Not sure if they had no idea how to do their job or were trying to pull something funny. It’s too bad because the hotel was nice and had good reviews. The area of MSP becomes a little sketchy at night. During the day it was fine. We parked in a ramp 2 blocks away for security for our car. The room was nice. I wish the check I would have been different just left me wondering for the rest of our stay.

The Hewing is a beautiful hotel but the service and ambience is subpar. I was disappointed about the 5 star price but 3 star service. The bartenders and waiters are understaffed and unfriendly. The valet was slow. There should be attendants at the door to help guests bring in items and luggage. We also tried to go in the hottub but there were 21 people (when the limit is 13).

Great location. Nice rooms. Great views from rooftop bar. The staff was very nice. Every one of them. The food and drinks were delicious too. This hotel actually made us feel welcomed. Valet was top notch too. We never knew what a beautiful city Minneapolis was. We’ll be back!

This is a fun spot to stay, and we really enjoyed our overnight—until we woke up to find that both of our cars had been vandalized and one was stolen from in the parking ramp. While this was obviously unfortunate, the staff was kind and assured us that the valet company would reach out and "take care of everything." However, when we received an email from the valet company, it stated that we would need to file claims through our own insurance instead. Not quite as helpful as it was made to sound.

The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic. Our room was very stylish and clean. We enjoyed the roof top bar and had a delicious dinner in the attached restaurant, Tullibee. This will definitely not be our last stay there.

It is a good place to stay. They need a bigger fitted sheet though. It isn’t even big enough to be tucked in so it moves making you end up touching the mattress pad. Also, the handle to flush the toilet kept falling off. Area has lots of restaurants and bars but strip club is across street and sec shop a block away.

Best hotel to stay at in Minneapolis! The hotel has such a cozy atmosphere to it. The restaurant is a great option for a weekend brunch. The best part by far is the roof top hot tub. We stayed over a warm weekend in March and the hot tub/area was never too busy. Only complaint is that the room we had on the top floor (5th floor) had a window that was really high up so didn't get any view of the city from our room. That was overshadowed by the fact that the room itself was still so comfortable.

Stylish, well laid out, fun, welcoming -- I could go on! I will absolutely stay here again. I was visiting for work, so I happened to grab breakfast at Tullibee downstairs each morning before I headed out for the day. I would visit just to eat there again! Overall, highly recommend. I was sad to leave.

Vegas party hotel, huge lines for the elevator, no service at all. Stay at the Four Seasons. This is like staying at MGM Grand on a concert night. Way too many people who are not staying at the hotel. Both bars were packed, took 30 minutes to get a drink. Not a luxury property.
