Don’t let the front entry fool you, this place is beautiful and perfectly located for discovering Edinburgh’s lively historic landmarks. There are several flights of stairs, but is to be expected in this repurposed church building. So worth the climb! There is a fabulous Scottish tour company within footsteps that we used for a day trip to see castles. Beds were comfortable and the 2-full bathrooms were appreciated. Super responsive host with questions regarding luggage storage before and after stay. Thanks for a lovely stay ;-)

Amazingly cute and quaint place in a PERFECT location right off of the Royal Mile. ONLY downside is there’s no lift (old building!), and the stairs are a killer with lots of luggage. But it was worth it!

Great stay only problem was I feel I wasn’t told that there was no left available. I had heavy bags and had to carry them all the way to the top level.

Great stay! Perfect location right off the Royal Mile. Apartment was beautiful and had great personality. The restaurant next door (Larder) was a fantastic way to start the day. I loved how well the automated access actually worked.

Location is in the middle of old Town. Rooms are in an old Church. Very unique in design. Roomy and comfortable. We were on third floor with stairs only, no elevator, so this may not be a good choice if you can not get your bags up stairs.

Everything was as presented: clean, well maintained, great location, easy access. Appliances are in great condition and instructions for use are very well put together. Recommendations provided were great, food at the 3 Bind Mice was outstanding (had to go twice). Rental unit was stunning and would re-book as well as recommend without hesitation. One suggestion for improvement, if there is some way to simplify the process for parking discount. The discount is a huge benefit and we were not able to take advantage of it every day because sometimes there is no attendant at the parking garage. This would in no way make us think twice about visiting again, just an opportunity to improve (a discount code to use on keypad when paying or a card to scan…?). Please book with no hesitation and definitely try the pizza at 3 Blind Mice while visiting. Oh and the toiletries and the beautiful scent throughout the apartment! Also the property management team checked in half way through our stay to ask if we needed anything.

Really the most lovely place for a family to settle down, have a kitchen, and be really close to the Royal Mile. Just remember, no lift. Highly recommend and would happily return.

We had a terrific time in Edinburgh and choosing this place to stay helped in that immensely. The location to central Royal Mile doesn't get much better. The apartment had everything that you could think of. A full kitchen, coffee/teas, lots of linens, etc. Artisan pizza right next door (3 Blind Mice) was suggested by property and was fantastic as well. They will suggest your parking options, but keep that in mind for really ANY property in the Old Town--just an FYI. They have a very polished system for emailing, alerting, info, etc. I reached out to them and was replied to very quickly. Very nice and clean place to stay in a memorable city worth visiting!

Lovely flat! The bed was very comfortable, which I find to be important when staying in a hotel. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware if you wanted to cook instead of eating out. There were only a few things to complain about. The sofa had a few spots that needed cleaning, it was also extremely uncomfortable, and the shower was very slippery so proceed with caution. I ended up stubbing my toe pretty bad on the drain. Over all though, great property.

First impressions are key and ours was terrible. We walked in the lobby area to find bags of dirty laundry and boxes of produce in the way. We could not even get by with our luggage. This area became more congested with more dirty laundry each day it was disgusting. It is unfortunate as the apartment was quite nice and clean.

Hidden gem in the middle of everything. Clean, quiet, well designed space with all the comforts of an apartment. We travelled with family and stayed in the 2 bed/2 bath. Lots of room for everyone and never felt crowded. Pubs, shops, groceries, christmas market and castle all within walking distance. The staff were professional, kind and responsive to any inquiry. All around a wonderful stay in Edinburg.

PROS: Great location in Edinburgh. Within walking distance of everything. Lots of shelving & storage. Well equipped kitchen. Check-in & out instructions were clear and communication was excellent. Showers were nice and roomy and plenty of hot water. CONS: We requested a week in advance (like instructions told us to) for the sofa bed to be made up. I was told it would be put in my reservation file. We arrived and it was not made up. Luckily, there were sheets in one of the closets so we were able to make up the sofa bed ourselves. However, the sofa bed mattress was quite stained as was the extra comforter. Kind of gross. Picture of sofa bed looks a lot more comfy than it was. They had air freshener reeds in each of the bathrooms that were overpowering. We wrapped them both in plastic bags and shoved them in a closet. Had to request extra toilet paper a few times which was annoying. The pumps on the hand soap in both bathrooms were broken and did not work so we had to keep it unscrewed and just pour a bit out when washing hands. There was large amount/ pile of dust on top of the wardrobes and on the bottom of nightstands. It wasn't just a little it was a lot! Exhaust fan in one bathroom did not work. Not really a con but the clothes washer is a washer/dryer combination unit. It was okay but not very big and dries VERY SLOWLY. Was difficult to do a week's worth of laundry for 4 people. Took forever and a lot of patience.

Very nice property in an excellent location. Was just as the pictures showed. Communication for check-in and check-out was great. Be advised the loft windows do not all have blinds so it might stay pretty bright in the summer, but in January it wasn’t a problem.

This apartment was an excellent base for our trip to Edinburgh. There was plenty of room, and the full kitchen allowed us to decide when to eat out versus making something for ourselves. The combo washer/dryer also allowed for a simple clothing refresh when needed. The bedroom/loft was not ideal to access for the over 60 crowd. I would love to stay at this property during my next visit!

Really liked the vibe, overall. Studio apartment space in Old Town Edinburgh, close to a lot of cool stuff. Overall, very solid. The only thing I'm going to call out is the bed. Tiny little double bed in a loft at the top of some narrow stairs. Little step up on the left side (but not the right because just at the top of the stairs). Really, really a pain to get in and out of bed. Otherwise, solid.

Very good property, nicely done in an old historic building in a fantastic location. The only complaint is the loft bed situation, which was clearly disclosed as a loft. Headroom was as expected (tight) but what was a bit of an issue is besides being in a loft, the bed itself in the loft is raised on a platform about 2' further with only two narrow but steep steps to one side of the bed to get up and down from it. This is a bit of an awkward maneuver when fully awake but more of an issue if one has to get up in the middle of the night and groggy.

Convenient location for trains, sight seeing and shopping. Beautiful and clean. Everything we needed was there. Great restaurants very convenient with excellent food. I don’t recommend sleeping on the sofa bed.

This was our favorite place we stayed in our entire 12 day trip. The location was perfect, the apartment was spacious and well designed, and the historic window was the cherry on top. We would definitely stay there again.

Check in and check out worked seamlessly even with no one on site. Location is fabulous; a half block from The Royal Mile and walking distance from the train station. The unit met all our expectations and provided us with a great environment to rest up between sightseeing and dining.

Fantastic location meant that all attractions were in easy walking distance. Property was very nicely appointed. Great communication before, during and after stay. Very handy to be able to leave our luggage secure on arrival and departure day too.

This property was perfect for our trip to Scotland. It was central to all the activities we did as well as to many different restaurants. Within walking distance to shops and groceries as well. The only issue we had was when we requested maid service with the staff working, they agreed to a time and date but when we returned to the loft, service was not performed. Other than that, it was an amazing experience.

Although I am not a fan of properties with no on site staff, this one worked out. Not having access to email, I was able to call and get the information needed to check in. The man I spoke with was professional, understanding and helpful. The place itself is terrific-immaculately clean, spacious and very comfortable with an onsite kitchen (only for small meal preparation) with an espresso machine, dishwasher and, most importantly, a washer/dryer which took a little time to figure out. Close to Waverly train station on a quiet block. Highly recommend.

PROS: Great location in Edinburgh. Within walking distance of everything. Lots of shelving & storage. Well equipped kitchen. Check-in & out instructions were clear and communication was excellent. Showers were nice and roomy and plenty of hot water. CONS: We requested a week in advance (like instructions told us to) for the sofa bed to be made up. I was told it would be put in my reservation file. We arrived and it was not made up. Luckily, there were sheets in one of the closets so we were able to make up the sofa bed ourselves. However, the sofa bed mattress was quite stained as was the extra comforter. Kind of gross. Picture of sofa bed looks a lot more comfy than it was. They had air freshener reeds in each of the bathrooms that were overpowering. We wrapped them both in plastic bags and shoved them in a closet. Had to request extra toilet paper a few times which was annoying. The pumps on the hand soap in both bathrooms were broken and did not work so we had to keep it unscrewed and just pour a bit out when washing hands. There was large amount/ pile of dust on top of the wardrobes and on the bottom of nightstands. It wasn't just a little it was a lot! Exhaust fan in one bathroom did not work. Not really a con but the clothes washer is a washer/dryer combination unit. It was okay but not very big and dries VERY SLOWLY. Was difficult to do a week's worth of laundry for 4 people. Took forever and a lot of patience.

This property was just awesome. The architecture was charming. It was clean and easy to access all of the local sites. Lots of space! Communication with management was absolutely outstanding. I would recommend this lodging and return in a heartbeat!

We had a terrific time in Edinburgh and choosing this place to stay helped in that immensely. The location to central Royal Mile doesn't get much better. The apartment had everything that you could think of. A full kitchen, coffee/teas, lots of linens, etc. Artisan pizza right next door (3 Blind Mice) was suggested by property and was fantastic as well. They will suggest your parking options, but keep that in mind for really ANY property in the Old Town--just an FYI. They have a very polished system for emailing, alerting, info, etc. I reached out to them and was replied to very quickly. Very nice and clean place to stay in a memorable city worth visiting!

Check in and check out worked seamlessly even with no one on site. Location is fabulous; a half block from The Royal Mile and walking distance from the train station. The unit met all our expectations and provided us with a great environment to rest up between sightseeing and dining.

Amazingly cute and quaint place in a PERFECT location right off of the Royal Mile. ONLY downside is there’s no lift (old building!), and the stairs are a killer with lots of luggage. But it was worth it!

Great location on The Royal Mile. The area was really busy because of the festival, but our apartment (no 4) was out the back and really peaceful. We are in the 3 Blind Mice pizza restaurant below which was good.

Location is in the middle of old Town. Rooms are in an old Church. Very unique in design. Roomy and comfortable. We were on third floor with stairs only, no elevator, so this may not be a good choice if you can not get your bags up stairs.

This property exceeded all my expectations. It was the perfect size and had every amenity that you could ever need! A full kitchen equipped with a stovetop, dishwasher, microwave/oven, and best of all, a washer/dryer. The bathroom was beautiful. The security/enter/exit system was great. As we had come from Canada, we did not have a phone to call but could email. Emsils wete returned promptly. We asked last minute for a late checkout and they were kind enough to let us stay an extra hour fir a minimsl fee. As far as the location goes, it is about halfway up the Royal mile, just 20 steps down a side street. Shops, restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores, are just a short walking distance away. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to be in the heart of Old Town Edinburgh. It was magical. If I was to return to Scotland, I would book this property again, no hesitation.

Awesome location. Close to dozens of good restaurants and bars. Enjoyed the size of the room because everyone had their own space to relax and unwind. The area felt very secure and easy walking distance from most inner city attractions. I will use Linton again on our next Edinburgh vacation

Great stay! Perfect location right off the Royal Mile. Apartment was beautiful and had great personality. The restaurant next door (Larder) was a fantastic way to start the day. I loved how well the automated access actually worked.

Hidden gem in the middle of everything. Clean, quiet, well designed space with all the comforts of an apartment. We travelled with family and stayed in the 2 bed/2 bath. Lots of room for everyone and never felt crowded. Pubs, shops, groceries, christmas market and castle all within walking distance. The staff were professional, kind and responsive to any inquiry. All around a wonderful stay in Edinburg.

Everything was as presented: clean, well maintained, great location, easy access. Appliances are in great condition and instructions for use are very well put together. Recommendations provided were great, food at the 3 Bind Mice was outstanding (had to go twice). Rental unit was stunning and would re-book as well as recommend without hesitation. One suggestion for improvement, if there is some way to simplify the process for parking discount. The discount is a huge benefit and we were not able to take advantage of it every day because sometimes there is no attendant at the parking garage. This would in no way make us think twice about visiting again, just an opportunity to improve (a discount code to use on keypad when paying or a card to scan…?). Please book with no hesitation and definitely try the pizza at 3 Blind Mice while visiting. Oh and the toiletries and the beautiful scent throughout the apartment! Also the property management team checked in half way through our stay to ask if we needed anything.

Lovely property up a long set of stairs. Location is excellent. We were a little confused with the check-in, but we are a bit old-school. We did not have a car. Location to public transport is walkable. There is a closet to store bags before check-in time. All appliances, beds, and linens were perfect. There is washer/dryer included. We LOVED our stay at the Linton lofts! Great location, beautiful property, immaculately clean, next to posh pizza place, bar and Larder restaurant. So easy to check in and out, cool high ceilings in historic building. Washer/dryer. Our favorite in EDI! Will be back!

The location was amazing. You really couldn’t ask for a better spot to explore Edinburgh. The building itself is cute and full of character, and everything looked clean at first glance. That said, there were a few issues. The walls are very thin, so we could hear just about everything our neighbors were doing. Whenever we or a neighboring room used the washer or dryer, the vibration was so strong it literally rattled the room. We also found mold in the shower, which was disappointing. I understand Edinburgh was in the middle of an unusual heat wave, but the room was incredibly hot with almost no airflow. It became pretty stifling, especially at night. The biggest issue for me, though, was the door. I couldn’t lock the deadbolt, so I never really felt like the room was secure. That was the one thing that actually caused me to lose sleep, because it felt like anyone could force their way in. Overall, it’s a charming place in an unbeatable location, but the noise, heat, and security concerns made it hard to fully enjoy our stay.

What an incredible place to stay. Blackfriars Loft apartments are stunning. Furnished beautifully. Everything you could need was provided. The apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable and located so close to the Royal Mile. Beautiful bathroom and toiletries. Very handy to have a washing machine and drying rack. Fabulous whiskey and pizza bar directly under the apartment and fabulous place for breakfast next door. We were able to park directly in front of the building to unload luggage which was convenient. Highly recommend a stay here.
