Hotel Mountain Paradise

Spacious and clean rooms, nice pool bar area, great staff, breakfast and poolside food was good. Whole place needs a bit of TLC as it’s looking dated, so makes the value seem expensive.

We spent 3 nights at Paradise Mountain Hotel, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very unique and very clean! We enjoyed sitting out on the veranda and looking at the scenery. So beautiful and quiet. We would definetlt stay there again. The pool was nice and qas nice to have a bar menu if you do not want a full meal at the resturant.

Hotel Mountain Paradise was exactly that Paradise the food was amazing at the restaurant and the breakfast is exactly what you needed The hospitality from Anthony, Jeffery, Marlon was spectacular! Our room was clean and smelled amazing every time we walked in. The hot tub was the perfect temp. The view of the volcano was unbeatable! Book this hotel! Swim up bar and pool was warm so nice to be in! We saw so much wildlife on the property as well like a sloth! We will be back!

Amazing location - out in jungle living amongst the animals. We saw tons of birds, and other wildlife and had an amazing view to the Arenal volcano. Staff was helpful and friendly and the pool was nice and hot. The restaurant and breakfast was okay, but not as good as the other things.

I am so glad we booked this place and not one of the others (we visited some of the others as friends stayed there) The entire area is stunningly beautiful. It’s so private and serene. Our room had a private heated pool with the most perfect view of the volcano. The restaurant was delicious and so affordable that our group of four literally ordered one of everything to try family style. We book massages everywhere we go, but their spa was the best massage of both my and my husbands life. I would go back just for the massage. It wasn’t even one of the fancy ones, just the “relax 60 min” massage. Anytime we wanted the golf cart to pick us up, they were there in a minute. Excellent staff, beautiful grounds, breath taking views, the rooms are stunning too. I wish I was more eloquent because I don’t think that words can capture how incredible this resort was. I usually like to try a different resort every time I travel, but this might be the first time where I will definitely book this resort again. 100/10 highly recommend

Good: large clean bedrooms with a breathtaking view of the Arenal volcano. Many will love the bathrooms as they are spacious with a natural look. The pool area is nice and the bartender is super friendly. Bad: it's a bit inconvenient that you can't park your car close to the rooms, though you can call for the hotel's transportation (golf cart). Food could really use some improvement in quality. The pool itself is artificially heated mildly, so don't expect thermal hot springs like other hotels in the area.

Had a nice view of the volcano even though it was overcast and rained everyday. Staff was very polite, helpful, and replied to requests almost immediately. Pool was beautiful. Restaurant and breakfast were very good. Safe and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was amazing, nice and helpful. Private pool and bathroom had droplets of blood, there was blood on the wall behind our bed. Received stained towels and sheets. The swim up bar is COVERED in BLACK MOLD. Had no WiFi 3/4 days I was there they claimed it was “down” but it still worked in the lobby, restaurant, and moldy swim up bar (everywhere but our room)

La propiedad necesita mantenimiento y modernización. El WiFi nunca nos funcionó. No permiten vasos térmicos en las piscinas ni áreas comunes. La ducha de la habitación tenía un olor feo, deben lavarlo más seguido. El desayuno un poco limitado enincipido.

El entorno es increíble se ven muchas aves y es muy relajante la naturaleza. Lo que no me gustó es que la habitación tenía como un olor a humedad y estaba impregnado a la ropa de cama entonces es incómodo para un debido descanso.

Beautiful, clean and friendly

The hotel room was dirty, moldy and anti hygienic. We only spent 7hrs in the hotel because of the hour that we got there 2:45am. The photos of the hotel are from a long time ago because the rooms definitely do not look like the pictures. Horrible would not recommend.

Die Anlage ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Alles ist wie im Internet beschrieben, aber halt schon älter. Große Zimmer, riesige Betten und ein sehr großes Bad. Allerdings wirken die Natursteine im Bad und der Rest renovierungsbedürftig. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Der Pool war ok. Das Frühstück war nicht der Hit. Zwei Obstsorten, wässriger Saft und natürlich Bohnen mit Reis. Natürlich auch Müsli und Rührei, aber alles so lala… Die Stühle sollten keinen Stoffbezug haben, unsere waren aufgrund des Klimas schimmelig. Die Anlage gleicht einem subtropischen Garten mit Schmetterlingen, Kolibris und unzähligen Vögeln. Die Reinigungsarbeiten sollten allerdings nicht schon vor 9:00 Uhr beginnen. Laubblätter nerven beim Frühstück. Da es nicht zu den günstigen Hotels gehört, hatten wir vielleicht zu viel erwartet. Da das Hotel außerhalb liegt, muss man ein Auto haben. Also alles ok, aber entsprach nicht unseren Erwartungen. Sorry!

The property is beautiful but the room pictures are very deceiving. We went there for our 28th anniversary and it was the worst decision I’ve ever made. We paid for three nights, but checked out early. Our first night we were excited to take a thermal tub on our deck since it had been raining all night. I asked if someone could take a look at the broken tub and no hot water but no one showed up. The sheets were dirty and filled with bugs so we went to the market and bought some sheets. The next day we tried the breakfast, but it was awful and never went again. We asked the hotel if they could please look at our tub our place doesn’t get hot water. We come back that night, soaked and cold from the rain hoping for hot shower and a hot tub. It still didn’t work and we had maintenance guys on our deck from 6 PM to 9:30 PM which made things not very romantic. After all that they said sorry it’s broken and never came back or offered to put us in a room that does have hot water. After they left , we went to go sit out on the chairs, but it was so slippery on the tiles that my wife slipped and hit her head. It startled a cane frog which secreted his venom onto her leg so we had to go to ER. The next morning on our anniversary, we were making love and then my wife screams and gets under the covers. Two of the maids were standing there eating nuts while they’re watching us! I went outside to confront them and they ran away. We come back that night and it’s cold so we checked out.

The property is stunning. We had a large room, with a secluded terrace with a hot-bath on it. We could sit out and watch the birds. The bathroom was incredible - with a literal waterfall shower - cascading over a rock wall. It also had a normal shower - so much fun. The pool area is stunning - overlooking Arenal Volcano. Fortunately for us the cloud disappeared and we had fabulous views. We enjoyed happy hour with our swim. Breakfast was fantastic - range of hot items, we had a front row view of the volcano and shared out breakfast with the many colourful birds.

The bathroom large, the tub filled quickly. Water pressure was good. Hot water was hot and available. Shower gel and soap provided smelled amazing. Don’t love that you can’t park next to the casita, but also that did make for nice walking grounds in the morning. Lots of beautiful trees and flowers. WiFi was not great. Kitchen was nice to have, but nothing to make food hot so??? More like a wet bar. GREAT view of the volcano, close to the local free hot springs entrance, didn’t visit the pool but looked nice and was steaming at night. Breakfast was perfect, beautiful place to start the day. Super quiet at night, the bed was incredible, comfortable and king size which is hard to find. Gets pretty slippery on the patio in the rain. We brought our pup and she approved also. Nice place overall, romantic.

Clean large rooms with huge bathrooms that have regular showers and a waterfall shower built in.

Hotel room is too old and dirty, less maintenance. We found insects in bathroom. No VIP benefit, there is no bottle of water in the room, we have to buy two bottles of water in front desk and it cost us $10.

The pool and view was so refreshing. Wish they maintained the roofs better. It blocked all the natural light in the bathroom.

Once upon a time, a property was a top-notch, luxurious resort featuring villas, a swim-up bar, and rainforest showers. It shows its age with broken light switches, non-existent Wi-Fi in the bungalow, below-average food, an unmanned security gate, and cost-conscious management that does not justify the price.

This was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Beautiful views of the volcano, the private cabanas, the wildlife, everything was spectacular!

Vey private sprawling resort with gorgeous landscaping full of huge rainforest plants and bromeliads, plenty of space between bungalows. Great volcano view and fun pool bar. Excellent staff. Extra spacious rooms. Interior was a bit dated and not the comfiest beds. No mini fridge. Loved the private jungle view outdoor porch and Jacuzzi tub

Our room was very clean and the pool was great. However, the tin roof on room 405 was extremely noisy. The rain and what ever was dropping from the trees made it vey hard to sleep. Also there were a lot of animals not too far away making a lot of noise. The restaurant is ok for breakfast if you are ok with birds eating the cereal before you get there. Evening meals....below sub par!!!!

Staff was very courteous. There were times when only one buggy was operating which made waiting times a bit long. Otherwise, everything else was good

Beautiful place, but deceptive practices.. they need customer service training. I made reservation changes in advance and they approved it but they still charged me for extra night even though I communicated ahead that it would not be needed. When arrived to the hotel they pretended like they never approved reservation changes….cost me extra night of stay and never upgraded us to VIP… as advertised

Staff are very friendly, they were above and beyond...I had a zoom meeting and was stress out were to take this call and manager and staff accommodated me in one of their offices so I could take the call. Rooms are spacious and you will see a beautiful garden around every single room. I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

The property is beautiful and you feel like you’re in a lush rainforest. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We ate breakfast at the restaurant each morning and it was very nice - local dishes, fresh fruit and an omelette station. The hotel is located near hot springs, shopping and restaurants, but also sets out far enough that it is quiet and peaceful. We had 2 adults and 2 teenage boys in our group. We all agree that this was a great stay and we will definitely return.

Amazing property set in a pristine location overlooking the mighty Arenal volcano. We got upgraded to a spacious villa with a private pool and the sheer size and layout of the space was impressive! The whole property is covered in trees that brings in all sorts of birds that make the place come alive! Pros: - location - layout of the rooms - quality of food at the restaurant - the kindness of some of the members of the staff Cons: - amenities are a bit dated - our AC started leaking water and flooded part of the room - service is on the slower side - it took them 3 calls and an in person visit to the reception to get someone to fix the AC after over 12hrs The cons notwithstanding, this is one of the most amazing places I have had the chance to stay and I would love to come back here in the future.

Property was very good. Nice view of Arenal volcano. Their reception is closed at 10:30 pm, so if arriving late let them know. When we arrived the door to the villa was not working they had to fix it, so after the late arrival that was annoying. They don't have water or any vending machine, so carry them as well unless you are ok to drink the tap water. You can buy them only in the reception which will be closed at night. The food in the restaurant and bar was ok. Pool side bar was ok as well. Have the swimming towel passes ready when checking out, they account for them. We got only two passes for four people, didn't get into the details when checked in late. On checking out I explained the lady we got only two towel passes, she never understood and the lady said only one towel was found, but we were given four, I had to go back to the villa to get another one, she charged 50$ for the other two.I don't understand why would a traveller carry back a used Hotel towel and pay 25$ each. She was very arrogant.

Well maintained property with beautiful gardens and many birds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Family-friendly and treated our children very well. They were very helpful in helping us to book some last-minute excursions. The one problem was that they had accidentally double-booked our villa for part of our stay, but they called to explain the error and then more than made up for it by upgrading us to the presidential villa with a heated private pool. Amazing.

I don’t normally write a review but feel I must. This hotel is not what we were expecting 1. Staff are unfriendly, they look tired and overworked. Don’t want to be there. 2. Our room’s bathroom smelled like gas when I raised it they said they fixe it. Felt unsafe due the strong smell. 3. Toilets were getting clogged which meant more bad smell. 4. Breakfast is the worse I’ve ever had. For what you pay for the breakfast was super poor. I’ve been to cheaper hotels that offer more. Also breakfast ends at 9:30am and you get really bad looks if you get there at 9am. Overall super outdated hotel for the price.

Booked my trip to Costa Rica to celebrate my birthday with my sister. Madelyn made all the arrangements; from arranging our airport pick up and drop off to booking all our 3 excursions pre arrival. She also upgraded us to the villa garabito from the premium casita with a stunning view of the Arenal volcano. I have never had such a smooth trip with everything taken care of pre arrival. Our rooms were cleaned daily by Josie. Fresh towels provided and was spotless. A cute towel animal was placed daily on my bed which was nice to come back to. The shampoo conditioner and shower get was paraben free and smelled great. Espresso machine was amazing with delicious coffee stocked daily. The pool was clean with a nice temperature and Louis at the wet bar was amazing to chat with. His service was impeccable. Food was delicious and grounds well maintained. The security guard Reynaldo helped us get in our room upon arrival as our room key card wasn't working. He was really nice. Overall, villa room, staff, amenities, property views and grounds were fantastic. We stayed there 6 nights and didnt't feel like leaving. Highly recommend you stay here for a natural vibe with stunning view Our jacuzzi working but they said they can send someone to fix it. We didnt't bother with it as we had the private pool and the main pool area. The only reommendation will be to have lounge chairs in the villa patio and pool area so we can laze comfortably. We made do with resting our feet on the other chairs.

We loved our villa! Beautiful and serene area, close to the main town yet far enough away to feel remote. Within 10-30 minutes of everything we wanted to do there. Parking was easy and staff was very accommodating.

This was the most beautiful hotel. Our villa was amazing and the property was incredible. We loved the pool and bird watching from our hammock. It was convenient to town and we can’t wait to come back.

The view at this resort was beautiful. The pool was a big hit with our family and ee werw able to get a taste of the wildlife (toucans, other birds). The rooms were beautiful, clean and spacious. The facility was well maintained. I'd recommend this resort for couples or for a family. A 15 min drive from the town center. Perfect if you have a vehicle.

Unbelievable views. Surrounded by nature. Plenty of activities around the area. La fortuna town just minutes away with plenty options for shopping and dining

Rooms are spacious and well kept. We stayed in the same room 12 years back and did not find any change in the furniture, bathrooms, and look and feel of the property.Considering we are vegetarian, dinner in the restaurant was not that great. Pool is small and could be crowded if there are lots of folks on the property.

Property has a pretty location. Great views of Arunal Volcano. Very retro-ish rooms. Bathroom we had desperately needed to be updated. Reminded you of something you would see in the like Poconos in the 70’s. Staff was excellent and very responsive. We didn’t spend a lot of time during day at property. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Omelet station has great. Luis at pool bar makes great drinks.

We had a great time. Overall the food was pricy for the quality but not too bad. They charged $8 for water, which was ridiculous. The staff was friendly and helpful. We bought some tours at the front desk which were lots of fun and reasonably priced.

Bel hébergement. Endroit tres sympathique. Aucun restaurant aux alentours Obligation donc de petit déjeuner/ déjeuner/ dîner...prix trop cher et qualité et quantité mediocre. La nourriture est vraiment de qualité médiocre...gris gros bémols
