Days Inn Southampton Rownhams

It was good in that we were able to walk under the motorway to get from the northbound side to the Hotel on the southbound side.

I received a welcome letter via email just before 6pm on the day of check in with information which would have been more useful prior to this time giving that we could have arrived from 3pm especially as there was vital information such as how to find the property as relying on sat nav directions would be unsuccessful. The letter also requested that if possible could we advice them of an arrival time. I had already tried to call to inform them that we would be arriving in the evening however the number listed on expedia is a dead line. The number on the Days in website is a national number which was not being picked up and the welcome letter had no contact number listed. The hotel is basic, there is no facilities on site (food, drink etc) as there is the service station next time). I had not picked up on others reviews that there was no air conditioning, had I had realised this I would not have booked here. The rooms are extremely hot so we had to have the window open, these could only be opened slightly due to the restrictors so made little difference. Unfortunately this then meant that we were kept up all night by the sound of the motorway traffic which is just a few metres away. We will not be staying here again.

Staff are excellent finding was hard sat nav took me the wrong place the bathroom is a bit worn and the don’t do any food but it’s in a good location to the dock for easy access and it is clean and tidy.

Nice quite area with plenty of facilities and plenty of breakfast options down the road

PRICE totally overpriced at £160 for overnight stop off for 2 adults and a child 2 cups (3 people) Only a coffee / tea maker - no lactose free milk no biscuits no bathroom facilities other than a bottle of soap' No slippers. No dressing gown No lounge no bar no breakfast facilities other than motorway McD across a walk across a wet and windy car park early closing motorway facilities and NOTHING in the INN? £160 WOW

It's a typical motel, it serves it's purpose. A bit noisy through the walls and ceiling but comfortable enough with plenty of space with a decent shower. What makes the difference is the attitude of the staff. The 2 people I dealt with on the front desk when checking in and out were fantastic and provided a genuine human service. Should I ever need to stay locally again, that would certainly make the difference for me to come back here.

Off the beaten path We needed a room with a shower, clean sheets and quiet. That’s what we got. No frills. Have to walk next-door to McDonald’s or a truckstop for food but the food’s pretty good there. This is basically a place to sleep and go on about your business after you have done so. With that in mind, it was a good price and it was clean

Staff are very friendly and helpful, smooth check in. Area is convenient for a one night stay before a cruise. Rooms are functional! Clean but smell a bit musty/damp but no obvious signs of damp, but as it was a nice day it was helped by opening the window. Area has fast ev charging, food, small supermarket.

The hotel is fine if you are on a trip and you just want sleep after a long journey. you won’t be disappointe as it’s quiet and clean. Don’t expect a meal as it’s just junk food nearby (McDonald’s). Do not put in your gps the postcode as it sends you nowhere near.

Room was dirty, shower curtain needed changing. Room smelt of smoke . Never will I use Days inn hotel again . We ended sleeping in our daughters room. , as staff not interested in changing or doing anything about sorting the room out .

We really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet dispite having the M27 right outside. The room was comfortable & clean, the shower was lovely. Helpful & friendly at check in. The plug socket which the hair dryer goes in to needs looking at, the plug doesn't stay in.

Didn't like a single thing. Should be shut down and a complete refurbishment. Smelly, dirty, grim, broken items, cheap loo roll, bed not made and cups etc not refreshed or cleaned. I could go on and on..... £125 a night is appalling. We will be looking to get some form of refund. The management / proprietors should be ashamed. I wouldn't let my dog stay in here.

The hotel building was modern as was the furniture in the room. There was no one on the desk until 2pm so trying to request early check in at 1pm when i arrived was impossible. I requested extra pillows as my daughter, partner and I all use 2 plus the pillows supplied were as flat as a pancake. They could not supply enough to fulfill this request because they wer fully booked. The room itslef was hotter than the sun, we turned off the heating and opened the window, i did eventually cool daown at 2am when i woke up now freezing! The shower only half worked and was not hot. They only gave us 2 mugs for 3 people in the room. The mirror situation for 2 females trying to get ready was rediculous, one full size by the door in an unlit area, the bathroom one which was steamed up and a small one on the wall by the tv also badly lit and required standing to be used. Not great overall, if they had a little more attention to detail it has the potential to be an ok hotel.

Stay was good comfortable bed. Shower room door jammed open and repoted on arrival. Not fixed in our stay. Not of serious concern but would of been if stayed longer. All other adpects very good. Staff booking in knowledgeable and helpful. Closeness of shops and cafes very useful. Room had plenty of space.

The room across from us was being vacuumed at 07:30 hrs unbelievable

Its not like a hotel.. its more 1* guesthouse than hotel. Need a remodelling.. Everything is very old...

This was the worst hotel I have had to stay in for a while. I wasn't overly surprised. It was a one night stay on a motorway hotel, it wasn't going to be a 5 star experience. The bed was rock hard and really uncomfortable. The bathroom had seen better days. The shower/bath switch didn't really work so it was a paddle and shower. I'm so glad it was just a one night stay. Last resorts only.

Bed was uncomfortable and room was a bit worn and very noisy from both the motorway and guests banging doors. At the price we paid, very poor value

Well located, very friendly and professional staff.

First day we arrived, the receptionist was friendly and helpful Second night rude, snobby and attitude stunk. She was rude to several customers including ourselves. She had an answer for everything.

The lady at the reception was very lovely, we had a wonderful stay

No problems at all, and Loraine on reception was very helpful. My wife is disabled and Loraine not only managed to change us to a more accessible room, but gave us recommendations for a local eatery which was excellent

Dreadful hotel smelt musty leaking tap all night broken curtain rails big cracks in the wall stayed for one night and will not return the reception team where dreadful unhelpful and never at the desk !!

Make it more apparent when advertising that itt is on the motorway service station and include indication on the motorway signage so that people don’t miss it

Postcode misleading made it difficult to find with sat nav everything else was spot on staff extremely helpful.

I really like this place, perfect for the night when travelling for work. Its cheap and you know what you are getting, but unlike other hotels that are dearer - this one has friendly staff and its clean and comfy, its an easy place to stay, services are convenient for food and you dont pay over the odda for the room. Its the beat of both worlds - cheap and cheerful but comfy and clean which you dont always see in places like this. I will stay here whenever im working in Southampton for the day.
