Pros: Great, convenient location. Clean room. Cons: I arrived 2 hours early and asked if the hotel could store my 2 suitcases until I could check in - they charge 3 pounds per bag; I've never experienced this unexpected charge before at any hotel. I had to pay again for them to store them when I checked out while I worked at an office for a few hours. As other reviews state, the rooms are very small, which I was somewhat prepared for, but I'd been travelling for over a month and had lots of luggage and there was no where to put a large suitcase in my room - I had to block the room's door with it. There was also no in-room refrigerator to store my meds.

There was work going on at the hotel on our floor and we were next to where the contractors were based. It was noisy when we got there, but we let that go. However at 6.45 in the morning the contractors were back and were making a lot of noise. Why were we put in a room in an area where there was working going on? We were not impressed!

Clean and functional, exactly what I needed for a last minute business trip. Bit disappointed there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room, breakfast was simple cold options would have been nice to have some warm options as well. Overall friendly staff, very helpful.

They had extremely loud construction going from 9am that woke me with a fright and continued until after I left. I was not informed this would be happening! They should not have put anyone on this floor!!!

No tea or coffee in room but disappointed. Very small room I couldn’t walk around bed had to climb over it. Got room at 2.30pm not before unless you parted with £15 plus £3 to hold bags.

The hotel was under construction when we were there making it difficult to access the elevator. The construction also was not mentioned in the description and I wouldn’t have chosen this hotel if that was stated clearly. The windowless rooms are DARK and claustrophobic. I asked if there was any chance to change rooms and the guy who helped me interrupted me and just said there was nothing he could do. He didn’t even try or let me finish a sentence.

The hotel is convenient. The lady that checked me in was lovely and helpful. However, when I checked into my room it was obvious that the room had not been cleaned properly. I asked the cleaner to please hoover the floor and she advised that she would get to it, but this was not done. Went to the front desk to explain my issue, all he said was come to the front desk next time. No offer to change rooms etc. Also the bathroom smelt like there was a plumbing issue.

Many rooms with no openable window or are completely internal. Ventilation in all rooms not working and or never worked as vents were completely closed. Reliant on air con to give the perception of fresh air. Air con filters and vents are in a disgusting state. Not good enough!

The room was tiny but clean. The bathroom was also clean and the shower was great. The room was not serviced so our bins were overflowing, beds not made. Only bath towels supplied, no tissues or any extras. The breakfast was great, and the staff were lovely.

I’ve stayed before but this time it was very noisy from inside the hotel (the room above us) which kept me awake all night. The shower drain was blocked so it flooded the bathroom and bedroom wetting a bag of fresh clothes and other items. So overall not such a good experience as last time.

After 15 hours of traveling I was welcomed to a room which smelled like straight sewage. There was urine on the shower curtains, the sink clogged about an hour in, it was just a hot mess. When I brought this up, the lady at the front desk in the morning said that “This is the room you ordered so it’s what you should expect.” Verbatim. She was talking about my disabled room I reserved for my chemo side effects but failed to address all the hygienic problems. I was actually floored and I went back to this disgusting room. Every other front desk staff after that was willing and kind and helpful but jeez having that as my first physical interaction with Point A Hotels was totally disappointing.

The location is very convenient as it's just a 5 mins walk to the Liverpool Street Station with different dining and shopping choices. Staff at reception were really friendly and helpful and worth a 5-star rating. The room I took was budget friendly so it was relatively small but sufficient for a solo traveler. There were small dirt stains on towels and bedsheets but otherwise the room was clean

For eco purposes (which I understand), hotel doesn’t do housekeeping unless after 3 nights. I noticed a lot of random hair strands in the bathroom, on the bathroom walls and on my sheets. Also, one of the hotels I received was all ripped up. Would suggest doing checks on towels and sheets etc. Hotel wasn’t terrible but would have appreciated more thorough checks and cleaning of the room. Staff was friendly and helpful

Have stayed here before but seriously doubting I will again. Turned up to be given a room that they knew had a plumbing issue - but wasn’t warned. It reeked of sewage. Was disgusting. Slept a few hours and left early.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are small but everything needed a short stay, the room was modern with lighting controls, air conditioning and a small desk/chair area suitable for laptop work. The room was in the basement so very quiet and secure, although being windowless it felt a little more cramped than other rooms, but this was highlighted as part of the reservation process.

Point A is well-located and restaurants/convenience stores are a short walk away. I was expecting a very small space and whilst it is compact, it has more than enough room for a short stay. The room was clean and seemed modern with the mood lighting and TV facilities (lots of movies available). The shower pressure and temperature were great. My complaint is that the walls are very thin and I woke up a few times throughout the night as I could hear conversations in the corridor very loudly. A small side table would be very beneficial for one side of the bed.

Useful simple hotel close to my office. The bathroom is a bit of a jig (the shower door opens onto the basin so its just as well I'm pretty small!), and the bed is so tight to the wall you have to climb over it to open/close the curtains. It was warm and quiet though, and the bed just right for one person and a good night's sleep.

Literally the worst night of sleep I’ve had in years. I had a windowless room which is totally fine as was a crash pad for a few hours, and yet for some absurd reason there was a fake window with some sort of light simulation behind it. The light was like daylight and on all night, and the pathetic curtain did nothing. I don’t think I actually slept. On top of this the room felt like it was in a building site - with many of the surrounding rooms being apparently refurbished.

The room was a bit small so we kept bumping into things. However the room was clean and useable just a bit pricey for the space. The only real issue we had was with the AC. It did work well but the controls were terrible. Originally I just wanted to turn it off for the night but it wouldn't. So I tried reducing the fan and the increasing the temperature a bit but couldn't feel a distinct difference from the unit. Thankfully the bed covers were enough. But then in the morning the unit turned off while we were getting breakfast. But I wanted it on to keep the room temp down while in the shower and nothing I did on the control panel had any effect. It is a bit of a nit pick but given we couldn't open the window it was quite irritating.

Checked in after a long day of trains and train delays and it couldn’t have been any easier! Went straight to the check in desk and despite having issues with getting the room we booked for the team got us into a different room and provided breakfast free of charge due to the inconvenience. Friendly staff and an overall clean building and room. Definitely recommend if you’re staying in Shoreditch.

The staff were generally unwelcoming and seemed to lack a customer-focused attitude. The check-in process was poorly organized, and several employees came across as impolite or disinterested. We felt more like an inconvenience than valued guests. Upon arrival, we found both hair and stains on the bedding, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the staff did respond quickly and replaced it when we reported the issue. The bathroom was clean and modern, which we appreciated. Our door did not lock. We notified reception of this and they told us that they would keep an eye on the room. We said that wouldn't be sufficient. So they hard locked the door using a physical key. When we asked for a second physical key for the other guest they said they didn't have one. So we asked to be moved to another room. They told us that the free rooms could not be given to us as they were allocated to other guests. We insisted, reminding them that we too are guests. They eventually found a room and moved us, but after a lot of hassle. Meanwhile my two friends were told they would have to pay 15 pounds just to check in early, and were told they would have to pay per bag if they wanted to leave them at reception while waiting for check in. They ended up storing their bags in our room with the broken door while they awaited check in. Other than that, everything was as you'd expect. Basic but decent. Rooms clean. No cooked breakfast.

The service here is impeccable , polite and efficient and friendly - loved that the reception desk and area is 'manned' 24 hours a day. We will be back - very handy for the Barbican

Staff at reception are well trained and very helpful. I accidentally left my phone in the room before checking out and leaving the hotel. When I realised it and spoke to the receptionist, by the time I arrived back at the hotel, staff had already found my phone in my room. I can’t thank them enough!

Room was tiny but well appointed. The window pane is opaque and can be opened only a sliver. Bathroom good except the floor was freezing, I arrived late at night after a long day of traveling on the day of the Heathrow shutdown. The heating in my room was not working. Raj, the manager on duty, did his best to investigate the problem and then supplied me with a portable heater, which worked well. He said if I needed to switch rooms the next day, it would be arranged. I ended up having a comfortable sleep and remained in the room for the following night as booked. Give Raj a promotion and raise. The breakfast is very good.

Very convenient hotel, close to Liverpool St. Station, an easy ride from Heathrow on the Elizabeth Line. Rooms are small indeed, but comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Great location in the buzzy Shoreditch area, close to Liverpool street st tube which was perfect for catching the Stansted express. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Room itself was great, on the small side which is very standard in London but sparkling clean and comfy beds. Easy check in at reception. Would definitely stay again.

First time staying at a Point A hotel. Will definitely look to book with them again. Great location, we could explore Shoreditch and surrounding areas on foot, such as Brick Lane and Spittalfields market. Lots of lovely shops, pubs, restaurants, takeaways within walking distance. Couple of little supermarkets nearby. Tube station about a 10 minute walk away. Room was small but had everything we needed.....we were out and about all the time so spend very little time in the room. The beds were really comfy, bathroom clean, good TV, plenty of sockets (including USB sockets), lots of lighting options, well positioned mirrors. There is a nice lounge area where hot and cold drinks and snacks are available. Breakfast is 'continental' and was delicious, buffet was well stocked and replenished with fresh pastries/bread/fruit/yoghurt and more. Staff were so friendly and helpful, very kindly letting us leave our small case a couple of hours before check in time so we could go exploring, which they didn't have to do.

Hotel was great. Room was small but well laid out so you didn’t feel cramped. Service was great. Easy walk to several stations. Just a mile or so walk to the Thames. Good location!

Great location! staff were nice had an easy check-in and check-out. Overall good place to stay if you want somewhere just to sleep for the weekend however, bed was not the best very uncomfortable and it was pretty cold. Also on our second night got no sleep till 3am as the ppl next door were very loud, could here there activities going on, the walls are very thin.

Breakfast was mediocre at best (mostly bread), coffee absolutely horrible.... but a very friendly staff, good safe central east end location, and well priced. Mostly very quiet except recess times during day at nearby school. Was fine for a single person but no way 2 people could stay in that pod of a room. Get a coffee down the street

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and looked like it did on the website. Was less than a 10mins walk to the nearest tube station. Breakfast was continental so no hot food which was a little disappointing but no big deal. Would recommend and would have no qualms about staying there again.

The room I had was very quiet and clean. The breakfast was a tasty and fresh continental style breakfast with plenty of options. The common areas were modern and fresh. The room itself was small, there was little room to squeeze past the end of the bed to close the curtains and I had to leave the bathroom door open to use the toilet. Although I am 6'3, which doesn't help. Overall, I felt it was good value and pleasant. Someone Japanese size would have had no issues. The room design does feel a bit like those capsule hotels you read about, everything is molded and integrated.

Don’t get a room that is on the Paul St side, noise from insensitive people till gone 1.00am stood outside front of hotel playing music and talking unbelievable, Had to go down to reception and get them to shut up, then through the night refuse trucks picking up rubbish, street sweepers up and down. Insist on a room out the back !
