Great location and staff, and very positive overall experience. Rooms were comfortable, with the exception of poor temperature control and odd shower design that made it impossible to keep the bathroom dry. The elevators are a problem- inadequate for size of the property, resulting in long waits a frequent need to use stairs from high floors.

We had a really great stay at the Marlin Waterloo as a family of four, but what truly made the experience stand out was the amazing service from Sezoi Con. We ran into him a few times during our stay—he was working as a bartender and also helped us out with a few things, including checkout. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and just genuinely kind. What really stood out to us was how great he was with our kids—super patient, welcoming, and made them feel special every time we saw him. It’s not often you come across someone who leaves such a positive impression, but Sezoi really did. The hotel was lovely, but thanks to him, our stay felt even more special. Big thanks to Sezoi—he’s a real star!

European 4 star hotels are not United States 4 star hotels. The lobbies are fancy but the rooms are extremly small and basic. There is no room to open luggage or move around comfortably. Sinks and toilets are tiny and cramped. All the 4 star hotels we visited in Europe would be 3 star hotels in the US. The staff was nice, and I liked that they had a self service laundry in the basement, but the washing machines are tiny, and it cost $8 Euros to dry a small load which takes over an hour!

This is listed as a 4-star hotel, while asking if there is any vanity kit available, the hotel staff asked to buy a vanity kit and toothpaste/brush from the outside shop, which seemed so absurd. There was no hair dryer in the room, no slippers, the shower was leaking, and the water was all over the washroom. There were bedbugs that did not let me sleep the entire night, and I experienced the worst time in bed, causing a severe infection on my skin because of the bug bites. I am not sure if the hotel is a real 4-star hotel. Contacted the hotel at 4 am in the morning as I could not sleep the entire night, and they mentioned that they would investigate.

We had a fine stay overall, however there was a cleanliness issue. The bathroom shower had hair and soap scum, and no bathroom fan was causing residue buildup on the ceiling. One of the nightstand lamp shades was stained pretty bad with brown splatter. There was also an orange stain on one of the towels. The rest of the room was fine, but some items could have used replacing/better cleaning.

I have to say that with only one exception, I really liked this property. The location is great for walking to the sights, restaurants, bars and shopping. The room I stayed in was on the ninth floor with a nice view and total peace and quiet. My only major complaint was that a few hours after I checked out, I experienced some major itching on my legs and back. After inspecting the areas in question, I had what appeared to be 12 to 15 bites and I'd say the problem was caused by bed bugs. The room appeared to be clean, but bed bugs can still be an issue and I hope management investigates this problem.

We stayed 4 nights. 2nd day we had house keeping however nothing we used was replaced, such as dish cloth, dishwasher tablets salt/pepper. When we arrived there was no shower gel in the container. When we contacted service to request what we needed, it arrived promptly. Hotel is in great position for bus, train and underground . Very easy. Supermarket 3 doors down. Great having a kitchenette. Pub 3 doors in other direction, good meals.

The room was nice, however there were a few issues such as properly preparing the room before arrival and not replenishing the toilet paper as we had to ask. Also, their policy of only cleaning the room every other day instead of daily. First time encountering a hotel with that policy.

Lovely staff and the room was clean. Bathroom could do with updating. Aircon was useless, way too warm. You can open the window but all you’ll hear is the screech of the trains. A real shame as the location was good but we didn’t sleep well.

The internet is not reliable at all. Disconnects every 15-20 minutes. We asked for tissues three times until we got them! On the positive side, the kitchenette is great. The location is also good and close to most London landmarks.

A 5-minute walk from Waterloo Station. Check-in staff were friendly and helpful. The room we had was very spacious and quiet - we were surprised to find a hob, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. Everything was very clean. The included free Wifi was reliable and fast, which was handy. We were also able to leave luggage safely after we checked out so that we could spend more of our last day in London without our bags. We didn’t have an opportunity to use food and drink facilities but the bar looked very cosy. Overall, my partner and I were very happy with our stay.

The hotel was in a great location. We were able to walk or take public transportation to the sights that we wanted to visit. Our only mishaps were with some electrical issues in our room. For some reason, the A/C would stop cooling throughout the evening requiring me to get up & the only way to fix it was by removing the key card from the master control on the wall, giving it time to reset, then reinserting the card. I figured this out the 2nd day after having told the staff & being told that it was resolved. The other issue was that the bread toaster would set off the main breaker of the entire room when used. The breaker had to be reset by a technician. as soon as it was reset, we tried to use the toaster and it happened again. I again reported the issue and we left the hotel for the day. When we returned, I tried the toaster, once again, only to find that they did not replace it. We had to wait for a technician to reset the breaker and give us a new toaster.

Great location. Stayed here a few years back and thought it was great. Doesn’t seem to have received many upgrades in the time since. For instance, my room only had USB ports on the tv console and no where else. I didn’t bring power converters because at this point, most hotels have them built into their lamps. Also had a queen or king booking but was clearly two small twins pushed together, there was a weird and uncomfortable central seam on the mattress. With some minor changes, this place would be wonderful again. Hallway wasn’t super clean either, though the room was ok, and the lobby areas are great.

I like the hotel location, its about 10 minutes walking distance to the Big Ben and the London Eye. I also liked that theres many restaurants near by with different options. What I didn’t like was when I checked in the guy who assisted me upgraded my room with extra fees to come to find out my friends who checked in got the same view and a bigger room without any extra upgraded fees. I thought the worker was doing his job and had the best interest for the customers but I felt scammed. The shower and bathroom could have been cleaner.

I pre-booked this hotel twice during the same trip. Both stays for two nights each. The first stay, the staff placed me in the incorrect room and it was very difficult to change rooms without having a bellman or staff assist with all the luggage that had to be moved from one room to the other. The rooms were very uninviting with little to no amenities. The hallways and rooms felt dingy and old with very little attention to detail or comfortability. With the area being far out from Central London, I would think it would have more amenities within the building, but it lacked in that area. Also, There was an additional charge to have the room cleaned or a to change linens. The laundry facility was expensive to use, and the laundry machines were very outdated and took a long time to wash and dry. There was also a strange smell in the closets and I experienced this in both rooms during my stay.

The receptionist was very unhelpful, I arrived the hotel at 13:00, she said I should pay 30 pounds for early check in or come back after 15:00, but no one help me to keep my luggage, I need to put it onto the shelf of the storeroom by myself, no one would pick it to my room. After a long flight I was very tired, but the reception wanted me to do Self check in, self check out, the reception never do check in or check out. Poor service. The house keeper was absent minded, I had put all my clothes onto my bed and written down a piece of paper “please do not tidy my bed” but she still done that, I am very mind someone touch my clothes or throw my clothes onto the floor. after she had tidied my bed, my nightcloth make me Itching， I believe she should have put my clothes on the floor when she was tidying my bed. It makes me feel very unsatisfied and disgusting. Have she thrown my pillow onto the floor when she was tidying my bed? After cleaning the toilet, she forgot to close the door. I would say It’s not a hotel , it’s only an apartment with poor service. I’ve never had a bad experience in any hotel like this. I won’t come back again

I am an older woman travelling on my own. I felt safe and found the staff to be very helpful, kind and attentive. The room was spotless, there was a fully functional kitchen with a dishwasher. and fridge. The walk in shower and toiletries were lovely, also very clean. There was a tv, power point for usb, hair dryer, safe, iron and board. View of the London Eye and glimpses of The Houses of Westminster. The bed was just a little hard for me, I have a very soft mattress at home. The breakfast was expensive for the variety of food. The waiting staff were exceptional and very hard working.

Overall property is in a good location but the whole experience was let down by poor communication from the hotel staff. We had requested for an early checkin but our request was rejected by the hotel, hence we reached there a bit late only to find that our room is ready and we now need to pay extra for early checkin. This is a great way of making money. If our request was already rejected, why were we asked to pay later??

Friendly welcome, efficient & secure luggage storage. Room was upgraded (thank you!). Room lovely & clean, good kitchenette facilities, air con / heating responsive. Superb shower & toiletries. Room was cleaned over a 4 day stay. Great location, easy access to South Bank & the river but also to tube line for exploring further, lots of mini marts & cafe’s for breakfast. A vibrant part of London but the room was super quiet - we weren’t disturbed by any noise. A really really lovely hotel, we will stay there again & recommend it to friends & family. Thank you!

Modern rooms, very comfortable beds. Quiet, room was on first floor facing street and heard no traffic noise. Front desk staff is excellent, helpful and welcoming. Convenient location, one block away from pedestrian street with food galore.

Perfect property for Gen Z and Y. Property lacked some of the amenities we would have expected for the price and there was far too much emphasis on being "Eco Friendly" Very little storage space in the room. Bathroom and nearly zero counter space. Shower alignment insured the tile floor would be wet (safety issue) Television channels were limited, we could not watch the final round of the Open. Bar doesn't open until 3pm. The kitchenette was convenient and very useful. Dining in the immediate area was limited but we found several local pubs with dining options. Staff was VERY accommodating and friendly. Check in and check out was a breeze. Easy walk to many of the landmark buildings and attractions London has to offer. Would I stay there again? Leaning towards no.

The hotel was very nice and an excellent location for our stay. It would have been nice if the continental breakfast was included with our reservation thru Expedia. Also, if it’s standard that the rooms get cleaned every other day they should provide the rooms with extra towels, coffee, etc.

The rooms are larger than many London hotel rooms. The price is reasonable. The breakfast is very good. The staff is friendly, capable and friendly. In particular we thank Hugo for his ease in check-in and selection of our rooms for our 5-day stay. Be aware, also, that the hotel is minutes from a tube station, busses, food stores and good restaurants. We dined at close-by Cotti (Italian) restaurant twice to enjoy it's wonderful food, capable, pleasant staff, and, amiable owner.

Walking distance to sites and metro station 5-10 min walk. Grocery store next to hotel. If you don’t do the breakfast at the hotel there a bakery/coffee shop within 5 mins walk called Gail’s. Overall excellent stay and would stay here again.
