Marea Beachfront Villas

Marea has great management and staff, from Sofia and Luisa who helped me book tours that were just right for my family to Jaime and Jenni at the front desk and the amazing bar and restaurant crew - Fernando, Rodrigo, Carlos and Tirso! Marea is on a 20 km stretch of pure white sand each with almost no one around! The property is beautiful and the villas with plunge pools on the deck, beautiful interiors and comfortable furniture make it hard to want to go beyond your own front (patio) doors!

We have been visiting for many years, we have stayed in the many villas offered from a 1, 2 and 3 bedroom to the penthouse . All our beautiful , spacious and have all that you need with private plunge pools. Several large pools with excellent views. An outdoor bar and restaurant with great options.

Beautiful, restaurant food vert good, though hours were unusual. Only negative is that you can’t swim in the ocean due to undercurrents. The pools however are fabulous

We loved our villa. There was plenty of room to spread out. We especially loved the outdoor balcony with the plunge pool. The staff was very helpful. It would be nice to see a spa in the future :)

Staff and service was exceptional. I’ve stayed at 5 star properties from Monaco to Maui, and those properties were luxurious to the extreme, the service and staff at Marea were ‘above and beyond’. The villas are modern, each one has its individual pool, the kitchens are equipped for you to cook any type of dish, but we only made coffee, as the restaurant was a nice short walk from ours and again, both the food and service folks were absolutely fantastic and friendly as you’d hope for. The young lady managing it while we were there and her wait staff were super and accommodating. Even during a storm that popped up and knocked out electricity for a few hours, they kept our dinner reservation intact by using their outdoor ovens and grills! But the entire time was restful and rejuvenating. The beach in this area is relatively secluded and it was so nice to take morning and evening walks without stumbling over others. They have a nice gym with a rooftop area for you ha stretching if that’s on your list of things to do. My partner is a Thai bodywork specialist and was particularly impressed with doing our stretches on that rooftop, with sounds from the ocean as a backdrop. The property was developed by folks from Arizona with an emphasis on healthy, stress-reducing environment…and it shows, from the architectural design of the villas and property amenities. If you want a restful, relaxing and pleasant vacation, go there. We are planning a return visit soon!

Esta propiedad esta en excelentes condiciones y en una ubicacion envidiable a la orilla del mar (a 5 min del aeropuerto). Las instalaciones son limpias y modernas. Todo el personal es muy amable y siempre dispuestos a ayudar. El restaurante cuenta con un menu variado y a precios razonables. Cuenta con estacionamiento. Altamente recomendable para unas vacaciones muy tranquilas ya sea en familia o en pareja.

We had a great time at Marea. The property is beautiful, very nicely kept. The beach is just wonderful, practically all to yourself as there are not many other hotels or restaurants on the beach. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant only serves until 5PM. We would rather enjoy more time during the day and have a later dinner, so this did not work well for us. Also, right in front of the porch and private pool of our unit F27 there were small palm trees planted, which completely blocked the beautiful view of the ocean. This was a big letdown as we were not able to enjoy the view while sitting in the unit's porch or in the private pool. Aside from these issues, everything was great and the people who assisted us during our stay were very nice and very attentive.

A relaxing week. Staff eager to help There is a lot of construction going on Cannot swim in the ocean there as too rough but compensated with 3pools and dipping pools on every deck.

It was so quiet down there that we almost felt lonely - but a very good lonely. We were there mid week. there was nobody on the beach. We walked 2 1/2 miles down the beach, had 2 beers and walked back - saw maybe 10 people total! It's a beautiful, well maintained property. Our aeromexico flight was delayed multiple times but Luisa helped arrange transportation and had someone wait at front desk to check us in. Their communication was fantastic. The beach walks yielded the most impressive whale breaching show I have ever seen. our thanks to Luisa, Manuel, and the rest of the staff for a great stay. We would do it again. If you're looking for a very relaxing, get away from it all vacation - this is it. If you're looking for loud bands and exciting city life - not for you. On a 1-10 scale this is a 9.99! Drawbacks - the front desk closes early, as does the restaurant on site (but the food was great). Cab ride toward Barra de Potosi yielded many more restaurant choices. I only wish I could review the Mexico City airport and Aeromexico with the same glowing comments!

The beach is long and wonderful but you can’t really swim as the rip currents are strong. All-in-all would go again, it’s a good deal!

We very much enjoyed our stay, and the concierge and staff were very helpful. They do, however, need to better explain the free breakfast and we were unable to get any hot water in the shower over our two-day stay. Also, the cleaning staff did not clean glasses or replace coffee, which seems like a possible training issue. However, the beach was wonderful, the pools great, restaurant very convenient and helpful and grounds were fun. A good, enjoyable stay all-in-all.

Lugar increíble, trato amable, buena limpieza,solo falta iluminación en pasillo de las villas al restaurante, es de madera y no esta parejo, esto puede disminuir riesgo de caídas... pero en general muy, muy recomendable..

The resort is perfect for families (18 year old boy and 15 year old girl) wanting to get away from a traditional hotel vacation. Marea apartments are spacious, clean and perfectly located on a beach that stretches for miles. Walk the beach and see Dolphins near the shore and whales breeching in deeper water. You can often be on the beach with no one in sight in either direction. The surf is very rough and we were not allowed to venture out beyond knee high for saftey (rip currents). Hiring a car is a must atying at Marea and the town is only 20 minutes away with a great beach (Playa La Ropa) and fabulous food. Retaurant on property has a limited menu, food is good, but dining is outside and the bugs bite! All in all, a very enjoyable vacation, relaxing with daily trips to the town. Will visit again. Staff are very friendly.

No hay aseo, las sabanas estab percudidas, la comida del restaurante es muy mala, la ubicación esta muuy alejado de todo. No recomendable para viajar a descansar

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was beautiful clean and well maintained. Our villa with a wonderful with a beach view. Staff at the reception were always friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Buenas noches, el lugar es hermoso, nos toco la villa mas pequeña del lugar, pero le voy a enumerar las cosas que no nos gustaron: 1- El costo del alquiler no incluye la limpieza de la villa, lo cual te lo comentan hasta que llegas y mínimo entreguen toda el área limpia, la terraza llena de popo de pájaro, el piso, la mesa y sillas. Pol lo que se pago de alquiler considero que debe de incluir la limpieza de la villa. 2- Muchas cucarachas dentro de la villa, es muy desagradable encontrarse ese tipo de animales. 3- No cuenta con aire acondicionado en el sala, solo ventiladores que no enfrían nada. 4- Su restaurante es muy malo, lo alimentos son buenos pero su carta en muy corta, no hay opciones. Espero esta información le llegue a la persona indicada y puedan tomar en cuenta estos comentarios, saludos.

The resort was great, good housekeeping. But they need to implement more sources because they dont almost all year acces to the beach and in this situation you dont enjoy your stay. For this reason i dont think I will back.

Marea Beach Villas was fantasitic. The staff is amazing and the Villas are very nice and impressive situated on a beautiful beach.

we stayed in a villa on the first floor right next to the beach.The suite was very well done and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen (which we did not use). The plunge pool right there was great for cooling off after a walk on the beach. The breakfast menu is complete and very well done and the dining room staff is friendly and competent as could be. Our only dissatisfaction was the front desk staff whom we found to be pretty much not interested in helping. Overall, it is a great spot on a wonderful beach.

In the Villa we stay we do not have veiw to the ocean

Fantastic property and service. The front desk was incredible in making our stay convenient and comfortable. We cant recommend the property enough. Its truly such a wonderful place to stay

Beautiful grounds and nice spacious rooms with adequate amenities. Best experience was having very friendly helpful staffs. Excellent service and hospitality.

We have been traveling to the area for the past 20 plus years and have never enjoyed our stay more. The Marea is such a gorgeous property sitting on a beautiful 10 mile long beach, it can’t be beat for a quiet peaceful vacation. The staff is amazing, everyone we came in contact with was so friendly and nice, they do a wonderful job making you feel welcome and are so helpful. Andrea was a joy to meet and so very nice, the bartender in the evening was friendly and made the best spicy margaritas, all the wait staff always went above and beyond, and the front desk staff always friendly and eager to offer help. We are already planning our return trip with family next year. The Marea is a great couples vacation or a great family destination, don’t think twice go and book it!!!

muy buena la atencion de Luisa quien es la que me ayudo a tener una experiencia fantastica...

Pésimo servicio, me lleve una muy mala experiencia con el personal y con numerosos detalles. - solo tenían una llave ( no tenían copia ni para la limpieza) por lo que para que entrara la mucama me sacaron de mi desayuno para irle a abrir por qué me dijeron que no era confiable dejar abierto 😨 fue una molesta este tema que estuve que estar persiguiendo a la mucama que no llegaba a la hora que decía y luego estar yendo a abrirle. Tuve fuga de gas dos días y toda la villa olía a gas por lo que tuve que salirme y obviamente imposible cocinar ahí por que podía explotar. Por lo que tuve que gastar en pedir pizzas a pesar de que habíamos comprado súper para cocinar. La alberca tiene químicos que te arruinan los trajes de baño. Dos días después de irme me hacen un cargo de $1,700 pesos por un plato despostillado (que seguramente ya estaba así por qué no se nos dañó a nosotros) y por una mancha de pomada en un edredón, se me hizo un exceso y lo cobran a la mala sin estar dispuestos a escuchar. Pésimo no lo recomiendo.

There were a few issues that popped up with our room and the front desk was very responsive. Restaurant servers were nice. Drinks were a little weak. Loved the quiet pools!! We had transportation from the airport set up with the front desk and were told to pay our driver 500 pesos. Yet when we went back to the airport, it was only 300 pesos. So someone made 200 pesos by overcharging us.

This property was amazing we wanted to get away and relax and that’s exactly what we did. The restaurant was so good, all the staff were super accommodating and friendly. The only thing I would say is that it is far from anything and we weren’t really informed of any activities that were offered outside of the property

Absolutely loved this place... we cancelled our reservations in Playa Ropa and booked the remaining of our stay at Marea. Loved the staff, the pool, the room, the food, the prices and everything!

Exactly what we wanted- a relaxing and tranquil vacation. We came in off season, and practically had the place to ourselves. So nice to be on a beach with few others. The bkfst and lunch were good. Dinner choices were just OK. The staff, both front desk and dining area were amazing.

I loved the Villa. I didn’t like that there was no hot water for showers. And the restaurants food was just OK. My husband got sick with Diarrhea after eating chicken nuggets and french fries. Thankfully, a manager lady and the beverage guy at the restaurant helped with suggestions and gave me white rice and chamomile tea for my husband. I never got sick because I ate something else. But the food was never that tasty or good. We ate there because it was convenient. Too nervous to try too many outside choices after husband got sick on 3rd day of 7 day trip. Disappointing.

The property is amazing, the staff amazing, Judith was a really big help even before we arrived. My only complaint is i wish the dinner was better, all of the breakfast items we tried were great.
