Pelicano Inn Playa del Carmen - Beachfront Hotel

El lugar no cuenta con estacionamiento, tienes que dejar tu vehiculo en un estacionamiento cerca de la 5° Av, que cuesta $250 x 24hrs. Eso es incomodo.... Sin embargo el personal de recepción , Dalo, gran anfitrion y buen lugar frente a la playa.

Habitación limpia y amplia, con las comodidades necesarias. Personal muy atento y amable. Se encuentra a pie de playa, pero imposible nadar ahí, está lleno de sargazo. Tampoco tiene alberca. Es una buena opción si es solo para ir a dormir o tomar algo en el bar. Incluye en desayuno, muy aceptable, por cierto.

Beautiful place. Easy checkin..staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was super. My only comment is its hard carrying 50 pound luggage up the 3 flights of stairs as there is no elevator. Also we were unsure that the entrance was the long hallway..there should be a sign pointing to reception.

Lost power. Asked for towels and never received.

This little boutique hotel is a total gem. All staff, from front desk to restaurant to security people, is super friendly and helpful. It's right on the beach, easy availability of beach chairs, umbrellas, towels. You are a few steps from the "5a Avenida" with tons of restaurants, bars, etc. Surprisingly, we could not hear any of the noise from it at night. The breakfast that's included is great; you get your choice from their full breakfast menu that includes Mexican dishes (chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, etc) or more international fare (avocado toast, eggs benedict, etc). Our group of 5 reserved one beachfront room and one beach-view room and we could not be happier with what we got for the moderate price that we paid. There is a convenient affordable parking lot a couple blocks away (10th Av and 10th St ). There are only a few minor "negatives": There's a lot of light coming into the rooms at night; blackout curtains would be great! There are rocks at the bottom as you enter the water so you have to be careful to not stumble or scratch your feet on them. The hotel was a little hard to find...Google maps lead us to a random spot several blocks away; probably because the streets right around the hotel are pedestrian only. So, whether you drive or take an Uber there, you'll need to walk a couple of blocks with your luggage. Also, the inside of the hotel has several steps with no handrails that were a little hard to navigate for our older relatives, especially at night.

Great location, excellent staff. Can improve by obtaining a power plant as when we arrived was no power and we had to wait about 3 to 4 hours, could not check in, could not entered the room until power can back. No compensation for the inconvenience.

This hotel was better than we expected! Breakfast was awesome and the beach was beautiful. The photos don’t do it Justice! The servers were so attentive and the security/front desk was great. Would reccomend! No pool but not needed when the beach is steps away.

Good: on beach, WiFi worked, air conditioning worked and there was hot water in shower Bad: no TV, sheets on bed were stained ( but supposedly clean, I guess they don’t use bleach), No BLANKETS, just sheets, No black out curtains, Outside noise was very loud in room, and I asked if we could move to another room, and they said nothing was available. No hair dryer, Made to order breakfast was not made to my order since they did not understand English well enough. They told us we would also have bread, but the size of buns were barely larger than the jam samples. Our second morning there was a cockroach lying upside down on the floor wiggling its legs, so we flushed it down the toilet. You cannot flush toilet paper down toilet ( yes I know it is Mexico, but other resorts you can flush toilet paper down).

The smell in the bathroom was always awfull. No matter how clean the smell was unbearable. The operation of the AC unit was tough to figure out. Either too cold or too hold. The ceiling fan was so noisy that I always turned it off. Lastly the outside noise was always there. I get it it was very close to 5th Ave so if you are looking for a quit place this is not it.

Love this hotel! Fantastic location, spacious and clean rooms, super friendly and helpful staff (especially the young man at the front desk), comfy beds, nice grounds, great security, and the honeymoon suite is spectacular! Huge deck overlooking the ocean with a jacuzzi tub. The showers are lukewarm at best but otherwise it’s a great hotel for a decent price. Will be back!

L hotel est très bien situé sur le front de mer d un côté et a 30 metres de la 5eme avenue Celui ci est calme sans le bruit et l agitation de la rue Le petit déjeuner les pieds dans l eau est formidable avec du personnel tres agréable et du choix a la carte Le point ́negatif est la vétusté de la chambre qui ne correspond pas du tout aux photo Le lavabo de la salle de bain fuyait et tellement de tartre sur la pomme de douche que nous n avions qu un filet d eau qui rendait compliqué le lavage et le rinçage

The hotel is older in architecture but is well kept, clean and comfortable. The retro vibe works and offers a quiet retreat away from crowds, bars and restaurantals. The location however is great as you are literally steps away from all the action. The staff at the front desk were friendly and very willing to assist and ensure my stay was comfortable. The waiters at the restaurant were also cool and professional. My only disappointment was the beach as it was full of seaweed. The hotel doesn't have controll over this as it affected all the hotels on the strip as well.

Safe and a feeling of security due to the diligent monitoring of the properties staff. Satisfied with the cleanliness of the property. Happy with the amount of support infrastructure in the vicinity of the property, including transportation, shopping and dining. Friendly and helpful staff.

no television in the room

Great location and service. Sadly there was seaweed on the beach so couldnt really enjoy it fully. The other beach was completely clean, so hope the seaweed will be dealt with the same way as at Mamitas beach. What I did not enjoy is having one socket in the room placed in a very strange location. Hope this will be looked into at some point as it would really improve the stay

This hotel is in the perfect location right off 5th ave. Very convenient if you're into the night life as there are 2 well known bars at the corners of the ave. The staff were all very lovely and super helpful. The food was amazing!! I do wish they had a pool but that is just a personal preference and doesn't take away from the hotel. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. Definitely would recommend and would stay here again!

Ligger perfekt vid stranden. God frukost. Bra dusch. Bra städning. Ingen garderob, bara en stång med några galgar. Inga hyllor, krokar eller lådor. Spegel enbart i badrummet.

On the beach hotel, plus a block from the 5th...so that beats anything! The breakfast at their restaurant overlooking the beach made it all worth it. The property is a bit old, the rooms were simple and lacked the amenities of a higher star hotel, such as tvs/room service/furniture...I mean, there were no hooks or chairs or dresser in our room to put our stuff, but I can overall say it was a pleasant stay. They accommodated us when we decided to extend our stay (and it was over the holidays)! We are pleased w this place, just wished they put a little love into their rooms, update/furnish a bit better.

The rooms are dark and outdated. Location is nice and all the restaurants are in a walk in distance.

It was really lovely. Great location, beach is beautiful even with the rocky sections. Food was amazing. Staff was friendly and attentive. Only issue was the wifi went out a few times, but otherwise we loved our stay there.

Pelicano Inn is a great place to stay. The staff is awesome! The room was spacious, did not have ocean view, but we were close enough to the ocean and would go up to the gym and have the whole terrace to watch the ocean. The ocean was not clear, but we would see it clearing up everyday... in a couple of weeks it should be zargazo free. The breakfast was awesome! Isaac is a great server! Place is very well situated. In the middle of everything, but also quiet enough to have a good night sleep. Everything is walking distance. It is not a luxurious hotel, but it is a great one! It was the Perfect Place for our couple's getaway.

Great stay! My only critique is for the Hotel to implement that the 24-hr security guard have access to the master key to rooms in the event an hotel guest accidentally locks themselves out of their room. This happened to me one night after the front desk was closed (which was 11p) and I couldn’t get back into my room until the front desk reopened at 7a. Luckily, I had a friend who was staying nearby and I was able to sleep there but I would have much rather stayed in the room I paid for. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and recommend it.

This hotel says they offer shuttle service however when I reserved and tried over 50 times to call them to make a reservation for shuttle all my calls went unanswered. I went into panic since it was my first time at playa and was really looking for a hotel with shuttle so that I could feel safer. I had to cancel my reservation to try and find another hotel that could answer and did not receive my money back either.

They sprayed in the room with our "stuff" in it without asking and acted like it was normal. Also paid Expedia in advance and after 1 hour of arguing had to pay again or leave when we arrived at 10PM

The staff were all friendly and had a lot of good information and generally pleasant and helpful. The property is beautiful and clean. The view from my balcony was fantastic and I loved my room. The included breakfast was good. Despite it being right off Quinta Avenida it was quiet and peaceful.

I loved the way the rooms were built around a central courtyard of trees and seating areas. The white of the surface walls was warm and welcoming. The property had the calm and comfort of an older property — the taste of an older property — I do not at all mean ‘older’ in the sense of dated. The full and large bookcase in the lobby was a pleasure to see. I had good help in arranging a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and immediate response to a change in arrival that I had to make. Thank you for being such a special place — an oasis even though so close to the activity of 5th Avenue.

The room was spacious, did not have ocean view, but we were close enough to the ocean and would go up to the gym and have the whole terrace to watch the ocean. The ocean was not clear, but we would see it clearing up everyday... in a couple of weeks it should be zargazo free. The breakfast was awesome! Isaac is a great server! Place is very well situated. In the middle of everything, but also quiet enough to have a good night sleep. Everything is walking distance. It is not a luxurious hotel, but it is a great one! It was the Perfect Place for our couple's getaway.

La ubicación del hotel es muy buena. El desayuno incluido es muy bueno!! El único problema que tuvimos es que al llegar en la noche, a la hora que habíamos indicado previamente, no tenían nuestro registro ni llave de la habitación, por lo que tuvimos que esperar a que lo aclararan y dejar un ID a la persona de seguridad hasta el siguiente día que viniera alguien de recepción, pero fue muy amable la persona de seguridad.

The location is perfect and the staff are amazing

This Hotel is right on the beach which made for a very relaxing stay. It’s also very close to 5th avenue and all of the restaurants, so strolling and finding great places for dinner are easy. Can’t beat the Pelicano for the price.

Tutto bene. La posizione è fantastica direttamente sulla spiaggia, molto vicino alla quinta Avenida e a pochi minuti a piedi dalla stazione dei bus ADO. Il personale è molto gentile. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo, con colazione inclusa, mi hanno anche offerto un drink di benvenuto. Tornerò sicuramente in questo hotel

Great location in downtown Playa, beach is an 8 and street is quiet. Not for you if stairs are a problem.

Pelicano har ett oslagbart läge!

O hotel estava em reforma, e para chegar no hotel foi difícil porque está localizado em uma rua onde a entrada de carro é limitada. Ficamos em uma unidade onde tivemos que carregar as próprias malas subindo várias escadas, um sufoco. Cafe da manhã fraco.

The Inn is very cozy and has unique characters. Our room was much bigger than the room in all inclusive hotel we stayed before. A beach is nice but right in front of the inn there are rocks in the water. It’s dangerous. But there is sandy space on the side for entry to the sea. I was very surprised that nobody mentioned in reviews that there was a big construction right next to the inn. The restaurant staff tried to turn music louder muffled the noise.

El mar se veia lindo y tiendas de todo tipo... Lo unico que cambiaría es el horario del desayuno xd es hasta las 8am y regularmente los tour salen entre 7 y 7:30, asi que deberían cambiar el horario para podamos ya salir desayunados del hotel a nuestros tours

We love the fact that the property is right there on the beach. It's very easy to walk from our room to the beach. We really enjoy the daily breakfast too. It's nice to have bottles of water in the room, and the "welcome" drinks. We plan to return to this property, as we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!!

It’s well situated, but TV did not work and no parking which you have to pay extra. They offered breakfast and thing that it made it special was that they fix you a box with sandwich, apple and a bottle of water to take for early excursions.

Was good service until i got very bad breakfast in one day then i told the manager he was helpful he made for us next day very good service. And my 3 years baby love it too
