Antera Hotel & Residences

Excellent location. Close to great restaurants, rooftop bars, the bus station and the ferry terminal. The service at the hotel was great, pool was enjoyable, and the bartender Pavel was an incredible host. I would recommend staying here if you're looking to spend some time in Playa del Carmen.

Pro's - This hotel is so beautiful. The grounds is well kept with a bohemian theme. They have a beautiful bar. 2 really nice relaxing rooftop pools. No rooftop bar but the incredible bartender Pavel will bring your drinks there. We stayed in the 2broom jacuzzi suite that we we're upgraded to for being Platinum members with Expedia and it was absolutely wonderful. The room was so clean and spacious with a huge floor to ceiling windows that open. All the staff were so kind. It's located on 10th ave, one block from the busy 5th ave, and 2 blocks from the beach. Breakfast was included in our rate. Breakfast is located at the Yum Yum restaurant on the corner and it was very good, cooked to order. This was a very affordable option and way more personable than the large all-inclusive hotels. We enjoyed our stay and will be back. Slight Cons - They are building a huge complex across the street. It takes away from the view on one the pools a bit but still has a view. Construction was during the day. 10th ave is always noisy so the construction noise didn't bother us, we we're hardly in the room. There is also a club that plays loud music into the early hours. If you're one that likes to sleep in complete silence, this won't be the place for you. I put on my headphones, white noise, and/or fan app and I was good. Overall, this is a very clean. beautiful, affordable boutique hotel with great service that's one block from the main action. You won't be disappointed.

El hotel está muy bueno, los cuartos son muy cómodos y con buenos espacios, definitivamente un hotel que recomendaría, el problema son los servicios, el desayuno es terrible, como calidad y opciones y además carisimo, el bar es muy cómodo, la calidad de la cafetería también, peró a las 20.00 cierra así que no se nada de licores y cocktails, el domingo no abre qué tampoco es bueno.

Beautiful property with rooftop pool and Jacuzzi. Room was clean and with a/c. Great location, lots of restaurants and cafes, block away to Quinta Ave, and walking distance to Plaza beach. Downside: you can hear the nightlife/music and noise from construction across the street. But it wasn't enough to disturb my 8 yr old.

This property delivers, the pictures you see online is the real thing. Very comfortable and spacious rooms, the rooftop terrace pool is very nice. The basement parking is convenient but is very very tight spaces to enter and park. However, if you are not a nervous driver you can park fine. The message spa was so so. Both my wife and I didn’t feel the message was truly relaxing. We opted for a Swedish message but it felt More like a rub than a massage. There is a night club around the corner of the hotel that’s very loud. We slept fine but if you are a light sleeper I don’t recommend it. The restaurant in the same building Yum Yum, very good

Beautiful property, with a private roof top terrace with a hot tub. The room is a complete apartment with kitchen dining living and bedroom. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Includes a free parking garage. However there few drawbacks. The biggest it seemed at first to be a huge benefit is it is only one block from 5th Ave. When I booked the hotel this seemed like such a nice feature to be only steps from all the attractions of 5th. In practice i regret this. The night clubs in the area play music so loud it can be heard clear and loud inside the hotel. I'm so grateful i packed ear plugs or there would have been no way for me to sleep. The music stops between 3-4am. The hotel is split into two wings. One wing has the hotel lobby/reception and bar you enter from 10th Ave. The other wing enters from 6th N and there is no way to get from that side to the lobby or bar without exiting the building or going down to the hot dirty parking garage.

Great customer service, clean rooms. The location is perfect, lots of restaurants and shops around and really close to 5th Ave.

I stayed in the apartments with my family. The apartment looks just like the pictures. The cleaning service was impeccable. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place for families.

The rooms could be cleaner. Floors, cabinets all need a deep clean. Bathrooms both had strong sewage odor. Well equipped kitchen area and washer drier a bonus. Staff were attentive in particular Pavel and Pablo.

The room was well laid out with great appliances and cold air conditioning. Plenty of pillows and a comfortable bed

Very large room for the price, the rooftop pool was nice and cold but it had a building in construction obstructing the view of the sea. Altogether a nice stay close to all of the action. The kitchen was functional and well supplied except it could have done with some cleaning supplies to wash up dishes.

We stayed in corner unit 217 with 2 bed, 2 & 1/2 bath and rooftop jacuzzi which we used and enjoyed. The unit had 2 full walls of windows at the corner of Av 10 & Calle 6. SO GREAT! We thoroughly enjoyed watching the activity at that intersection throughout our time there. Staff are welcoming, attentive and accommodating. Yes, you will hear loud music from the nearby clubs Wed - Sat until 3am. Hopefully you have a sleep routine that works for you if you’re not inclined to go out late at night. We are a couple 60 & 69 yrs old and we didn’t mind it too much, we used a sound machine to help drown out the club music. The property is wonderful. There are 2 rooftop pools, the one above the lobby is spectacular. During our stay Jan 10-24, we always had a lounge chair and use of the 2 Bali beds. The pools aren’t heated but refreshing when the hot sun shines. Our unit provided all the conveniences with daily housekeeping. You will need to buy kitchen basics, we went to Walmart at Av 30 & Calle 8. There are also grocery stores down the street from there Av 30 & Calle 14 - 20? We liked it so much that we booked a return trip for March 2025. Hasta Luego

The room was average (phone was broken, balcony door would not lock), but hotel is in a good location for restaurants. You have to sleep with earplugs every night. The noise from the clubs is ridiculously loud until 3:00 A.M. You can also hear neighbors from the other rooms in the breezeways and on their balconies.

We are a family of three and stayed at the family apartment. The room is very spacious and clean. Staff is very friendly. We particularly like the size of the apartment. It is also a very convenient location with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We were very happy with our stay.

I've stayed at many places in Playa, the Antera is #1 by far. Convenient location, very clean, modern apperance, fully stocked kitchen with all the necessities, great bed with decent pillows, truly felt like a step above the rest.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The 1 bedroom apartment looked exactly like what was promised and was immaculate and comfortable. The front desk was friendly and helpful. We requested a room change because we were facing an active construction site and they moved us to a room on the other side of the hotel, which was quieter and more functional for us. This was a workcation trip and we had no issues with internet or a/c. You should know, however, that although there is a functional kitchen and laundry, there is no coffee/tea or laundry or dishwashing detergent. We walked to the nearby Soriana and got everything we needed, but if we were only staying for a couple days, this might have been inconvenient. The rooftop pool is beautiful and we would gladly stay there again. Lots of food and shopping options within a few blocks!

We stayed here on two separate occasions, first one was fine, a few years back, this second time we had problems, what we tought was safe place to leave our valuables in the room, it wasn’t, our wedding band was taken from our room after they came in to clean the room, they clearly made excuses on how they didn’t have anyone to check the cameras, it’s 2024, everyone knows how to work a computer and it’s not rocket science. We tell them it went missing, we checked through all our luggage. Then instead of wanting to help, they make us feel like it was our fault because “that’s why they have safes in the room” so just because I forget to put my ring in the safe it means I’m gonna run a risk of your cleaning workers stealing my stuff? Make that make sense please. I was at another hotel prior to this one and I left my ring laying around, and they would clean and not touch it.. don’t come here unless you’re okay with having your stuff taken from you and then making you feel like it was your fault for having it stolen.

It was my second stay with you. Your front desk staff are, consistently, not very nice. However, Pablo, the bellman, has consistently been one of the best employees I have ever seen anywhere! If you want to make your best impression, you should elevate Pablo to work the front desk and demote the late night staff who give your customers poor service.

Excellent location and service.

Book a two room with kitchen and terrace. Do not book a exclusive room with terrace if you not up to 3.30 then it’s fine. A bar blasting out music every night right next to the hotel. Also u don’t really want to use that terrace sing the view is a construction site see pic. The staff are excellent and they let us change the room after two days. That apartment was 🔥 Hotel is on 10th Avenida close to everything. Avoid 5th avenue just go left from the hotel and it will come great restaurants and bars. Walmart great for groceries also.

My partner and I stayed at Antera Hotel for 5 days. Our experience was wonderful. It was beautiful, clean and was located less than 2 mins walk from the beach. We also got the package with breakfast included and the breakfast was served by "Yum Yum" and it had good selection of food to pick from and very tasty! We also rented a car and the parking was available for free and extremely convenient! 10/10 experience with the hotel room itself with amazing staff especially front desk - Ivan! Would definitely book to stay here again when we are in Playa Del Carmen!

I had communicated ahead of time that we had a large van. Upon arrival, the van did not fit in the underground lot. The desk clerk offered no help at all, just told us we were out of luck. He did not acknowledge us when we came in but continued with a casual conversation until I had to interrupt multiple times to get service. He was very rude throughout the process and we had to ask him to please start our check-in process so we could access our rooms. It was very late at night, we were exhausted, and he was very unhelpful. Also VERY rude when we tried to get breakfast vouchers and would not acknowledge us when we stood at the counter. The attendant at the door, on the other hand, was so helpful. He took our luggage to our rooms, showed us around the rooms, trie to help with the parking situation, and was very kind and helpful. I couldn't say enough about thim. Overall, the breakfast was good and the rooms were great, but I wouldn't stay here again due to the rudeness of the front desk clerk. If I'm paying for a service, I would expect to be treated civilly.

Room was perfect. Hotel is in a great location less than 10 mins walk to the bus station. Staff were very attentive. Osvaldo at from desk very helpful printing boarding passes, organising transport. Enjoyed my stay here a lot.

The entire staff at Antera Hotel was Excellent. The front desk staff and the security staff was so friendly and helpful they attended to all our needs making our stay so pleasant. One staff member Pavel in particular was outstanding and helpful to my husband and myself. We definitely will be back to stay at the Antera Hotel.

Worst hotel stay I have ever had. I checked in expecting a comfortable stay, but the hotel is located directly next to a nightclub with extremely loud music. The noise made it completely impossible to sleep every night, lasting until around 5:00 AM. This is not clearly disclosed in the hotel description, despite multiple previous reviews mentioning the same issue. I contacted the hotel during the night and again during the day, but they stated they could not help and refused to provide any written confirmation. As a result, I was forced to stay for all 5 nights, experiencing 5 sleepless nights. If you are sensitive to noise or planning to sleep at night, I strongly recommend choosing another hotel. I contacted Hotels.com multiple times during my stay to report the issue, but I did not receive effective assistance or a resolution while the problem was ongoing.

Great hotel but depending on which way you face (main drag - 5th Avenue) bars play loud music until 3:00 in the morning. For our second week we were switched to an apartment facing north - MUCH better. Wonderful helpful staff, very accommodating.

Perfect location, comfy beds and really convenient. The staff was helpfull and friendly. The pools on the rooftops were a perfect add after a day at the beach, which is 3 mins walk, with a great sunset view. Strongly recommend!

The best thing about this hotel is own centrical it is to eveything in playa del Carmen. You have 5th ave, the ferry, cancun is like a 30 min drive, its location was definitely worth it for us

We had an amazing stay at Antera. Location is unbeatable, you can walk to great dining, entertainment, shopping, the beach, etc. in minutes. The staff are delightful, kind, and helpful, and the room and pools were amazing. Everything was very clean and very clearly well taken care of. The rooftop pools were a great way to spend an afternoon, as well. The breakfast was great (not a buffet/continental, it was delicious made-to-order), and the service at the breakfast was amazing. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again!

The hotel was conveniently located close to the beach, restaurants and shops. The unit was clean and spacious. I saw previous reviews complain about the loud music from the clubs in the area, we only heard loud music one night, but it didn’t prevent us from going to sleep.

Great hotel with plenty nearby. Breakfast was included, which was really good. They let us into our room close to an hour early upon arrival. The rooftop pool was beautiful. We didn’t realize when booking that there is a club next door that runs all throughout the night. While it was not obnoxious, it was a bit disruptive. We slept fine and the bed was very comfortable.

Loved the rooftop pool/ hot tub and lounge area. The rooms were spacious and clean. The Yum Yum restaurant next door that is also where breakfast was served was very nice, and food was tasty.

I just completed 5 nights in Antera with my husband, 20 yr old son, and 15 yr old daughter and we absolutely loved it! It has a great cozy entrance, modern feel, and nice staff. We had two seperate rooms (king and double), and both were super clean! Excellent beds and pillows. I was nervous about the next door music, which is why I requested garden (no music) area for our rooms and it was PERFECT!! I lovedddd the breakfast that was offered. Pool area super modern, and well done. Hotels location is Walkable to anything and one block from 5ta avenida where all the busyness is. 3 min walk to beach. Water was a bit salty in shower but NOT dealbreaker whatsoever yall. I have zeroooo negative comments. Well yeah… wish I would’ve had a longer stay 😁

Great hotel!!! Noisy from the clubs nearby at night but the property grounds and rooms are great!! Great staff at the Yum Yum Fusion restaurant! Isacc was a great waiter. Bartender at the hotel was awesome too. Will definitely visit again.

I had a beautiful time at the Antera! The hotel itself was stunning and the staff was friendly and attentive, making sure to accommodate anything I needed! I also loved the area the only thing I will say is the music is very loud at night because it’s right by 5th Ave. The pool and hot tub were nice, I really loved having a jacuzzi in my room! The restaurant downstairs Yum Yum was really good and I found a really nice Mexican cuisine restaurant Porfirio was really nice.

Everything are excellent. Really good location in Playa del Carmen. Very clean and super friendly. Hotel bar very cozy and bartender Pavel are super nicely. Bar beverages and cocktails not expensive than other restaurants price. Highly recommended.
