Native Bankside

Pictured as advertised. Helpful staff. Lotsa amenities. It would've been great if the room had a phone to communicate with the front desk as not everyone had a UK# to make local calls.

Really modern place in amazing location. Unfortunately, staff were not at all friendly or helpful. And there is no bar or any area to meet colleagues etc.

The only good about this hotel is the staff/service and the location. Terrible pillows, gym is so small and basically unusable, cold room with noicy air con, and no cutlery in the kitchen. Also, the fridge was warm…

We stayed several nights and found our room comfortable and clean. Check-in was a little awkward due to the distraction of a misbehaving fire alarm but all other interactions with the reception desk were quick and efficient. The room had everything we needed - kitchenette was well appointed, washer-dryer in good order (detergent and soaps provided). The hotel was quiet and bed comfortable. An extra chair (or high stool at the counter) would have been welcome, but that is a minor quibble. Note that as this is an apart-hotel they do not do daily room cleaning / straightening. But fresh towels were easily available, and anything else we needed. It was good to have the common area/ lounge available. The location was convenient (note that Mansion House tube Station works, with a walk over Southwark Bridge) and there were restaurants nearby and the Borough Market. It is easy to walk either west or east along the Thames. All in all, a great place for a home away from home.

The property and location was great but we had some hiccups on our trip. The elevator to the 7th floor was broken so we had to carry our suitcase from 6th floor to 7th and it was not working the entire trip. The fire alarm also went off at 4:30am so we had to walk up and down 7 flights of stairs. It will be a very memorable trip.

The aparthotel have lovely big rooms and well equipped for stays in London . We ordered dinner to the hotel and it was lovely to sit down and eat in our own space with our little girl instead of having to go out for dinner and sit in a restaurant with a toddler

Great to have the convenience of an apartment so we could self cater, do laundry and relax in a decent sized space. Great location.

I selected this hotel based on the Gym facility advertised. It is a total lie. The hotel is a new modern, industrial type hotel that gives you great sized rooms, however, for them to advertise a gym, is a lie. They have a tiny room in the corner of the third floor that has only 1 rower, 1 multi workout type pulling machine and a 1 Peloton bike, that doesn’t even have a property account on it. You are expected to use your own Peloton account. Honestly, for a gym goer looking to stay here based on seeing it show up as a hotel with a gym, avoid it! If you are looking for simple accommodations with a large room, then you will be fine. Most of the staff are friendly, minus this one Asian guy that walks around with a nasty look on his face when he see’s hotel people. I am not sure why he works at an hotel if he is going to be rude. You don’t have to smile at everyone but don’t roll your eyes and act like you are better than the guests. You are there to do a job, not to be rude. He probably should be let go. Even this one older lady that was distracted on her phone when I first checked in was super sweet. However, please tell whomever you are on the phone with you will call them back if you see people coming in to check in. Haha, it is ok to fill in your time with personal calls/texts when you have down time but at check in time, please help us right away.

We had the top level apartment. Modern property. Well equipped. A few minor maintenance issues and lift for 7th floor was broken. Small gym available and seating common areas. Overall enjoyed the experience. Slow to communicate by Expedia.

An excellent choice for a central location. 15 mins walk to the Royal festival hall. 15 mins walk to borough market. Plenty of places to eat and drink along the way. Super quiet and had the added benefit of a small kitchen, washer/dryer in the room. Would definitely stay again.

Clean and comfortable.

I would return again.. very good, almost excellent. But no deal breakers. Nit picking - not perfect coz: - not squeeky clean enough for me.. dish washer had remnants of food bits which I cleaned before using - cutlery tray was under the sink above the trash, which made me feel I couldn't keep cleaned ones in there - room faced an office, 15m apart or so only.. needed to keep blackout curtains closed all the time for privacy - lights switches at bedside did not work Else, no complaints. Location is fantastic, shower was good, bed and pillows was comfy, thermostat was good, filtered water available was convenient.

Great room. Friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay. Could do with a touch up here and there; carpet under the bed and bedside tables for example. Floor perhaps too. Happened to look up and cleaning needed between the wooden slats in the ceiling above entrance and cooking area as a lot of dust collecting up there.

I booked a room for the evening as a Christmas gift for my son and his partner as they had a 21st birthday to attend in London. Unfortunately, when my son returned home the following day, he showed me pictures of a badly stained headboard which could only be described as body fluid. I have to say that I was very disappointed at the lack of cleanliness as this was supposed to be a special evening for them

Friendly staff and rooms are nice and clean

Loved the location, very easy to walk to key tourist sites. The convenience (and cost savings) of having a kitchen to do breakfasts and a few suppers was amazing. 3 different groceries nearby (Marks & Spencer, Amazon Fresh, and COOP). The washer/dryer was so useful and easy to use. Property and rooms were modern, simple, elegant and clean. Loved it.

Poorly maintained fixtures and fittings, scratched, scuffed, pulled upholstery etc. Not a single place to sit down that didn't have revolting-looking stains on the fabric. Inadequate cleaning - dust/hairballs formed in places around the floor, previous guest's food and rubbish also on the floor. The reality was not inline with the quality and standard presented in all the glossy branding/official photos and recent glowing reviews that convinced me to book - I was left questioning the legitimacy of the positive write ups. Perhaps maintenance and house keeping has just been abaonded since then. I booked a premium apartment. On entry to the room it smelt like stale B.O. masked with expensive air freshener. The sofa was revolting with stains and layers of dust, the bed throw was stained, the chair in the bedroom was stained, the dining room chairs were stained, and the floor had dustballs and rubbish and dropped food about. It was too much to accept so we returned to reception to ask for a new room. The reception attendant stated that the only other available room was a "downgrade" - but assured us we would be refunded the difference if we accepted it and they made apologies. Refund has not materialised.. The cleanliness of the second room was acceptable (in that it actually looked like and smelled like it had been properly cleaned everywhere at least). The standard of the room was shabby and worn like the first one we were given, and the theme of stains everywhere continued.

Great location, super walkable and friendly staff. Not a super clean room. Lots of crumbs, fluff and dirty fabrics which wasn’t the nicest but we spent most of our time out and about - fab area

Far exceeded expectations. Barry spacious rooms with everything you’d ever need. Wet clean and in great condition. Couldn’t fault

Bathrooms are illogical - lots of space and no where to hang or place articles on surface area. Teeny tiny sink. Minimalist doesn’t need to be impractical

Sadly the windows looked over a brick wall so i felt closed in. Wouldn’t stay here again.

We loved this location for its accessibility to everything via foot, e-bikes, and trains! The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The small complaint was a shower that didn’t drain and forced us to stack up towels so we didn’t floor our bathroom …. They never fixed it for the 5nights we were there. Other than that though, I’d highly recommend!

Beautiful property. Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Loved the kitchenette & washer/dryer in room. Shower is very strange as has no curtain or barrier into bathroom, causing lots of water on the floor. Very strange design. Ask for extra towels to mop up floor.

Rooms feel like you are in a dungeon or bunker. Unable to open window otherwise the business office can look into your room. Bed is super comfy. It's a good place to sleep since it's very dark. Stayed on the 2nd floor.

Very quiet, small kitchen but everything you need, lights a bit hard to navigate, air con very good, wet room type shower makes it very wet

Room was very modern. Lighting inside the room was odd. Exterior lighting shined brightly into the room. Carpet need to be replaced. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Did not provide different density pillows. Did not provide daily housekeeping (but that was fine with us).

This is a gem, rooms are MASSIVE and very cool

This place is fabulous. One of the few in London with a queen size bed! My only critique is that the bed was a bit too hard for my liking and that the flat was very, very small. The size was known when booking of course, but when you have two suitcases to open up, you've pretty much used all the floor space.

The rooms were really comfortable. Enjoyed the laundry in the room. Nice neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and pubs. Grocery stores with good selection of fruit, vegetables and bakery 3 minutes away

Great aparthotel in the city centre easy to walk to most places. Tried to contact reception before my arrival as i had an issue with my luggage...but didnt manage to get an answer.

Native Bankside is in a fantastic location, and I’d be happy to return — but there are a few things I hope they improve. Shower (1/5) – Very low water pressure and surprisingly difficult to get cold water in August. A better shower experience would make a big difference. Toilet (0/5) – The square toilet seat is awkward and uncomfortable. A change here would be greatly appreciated. Bed (2/5) – Extremely firm. If there were an option for a softer mattress or topper, it would be much more comfortable. Kitchen (4/5) – Well-equipped with dishwasher, water boiler, stove, and clothes washer. One of the highlights of the stay. Wardrobe (4/5) – Spacious with iron and board, but oddly facing the bed. A second wardrobe in the hallway for coats and shoes would be more practical. Concierge (1/5) – When I asked for directions to the nearest pharmacy, they didn’t know. A little more local knowledge at the desk would go a long way. If you’re not staying more than 10 days, I wouldn’t recommend it — we stayed for 5 days and barely took advantage of the room. That said, I wish our trip had been longer, because the location and amenities have great potential if you have time to settle in and make full use of them. Overall, I enjoyed my time here, and with a few improvements, Native Bankside could go from “good” to “fantastic.”

Absolutely faultless stay. The gentleman who greeted us was very friendly, helpful, and flexible to our individual needs. The room (a small studio) was perfect for 2 people and a real home from home. It was spotless, very well equipped, extremely comfortable, and silent at night. The AC was effective but not obtrusive like most hotels. The central location is excellent with plenty of pubs, restaurants and things to do. There's a choice of tube stations a short walk away, and an Uber boat pier at the end of the lane. One of the most enjoyable stays of my life. Will 100% stay here anytime I'm in London now. Thank you

Native Bankside is my new ‘go to’ place to stay in London. Great location near Borough Market and tube stations. Close to the river and the river taxi. The studio provides everything needed for a short stay - tea, coffee, milk etc - better facilities than other similar places we stayed previously. The staff are great, we arrived before check in and got immediate access to our room and they stored our luggage on the day we left. I left my reading glasses in our room and they kindly called me to let me know. Full marks all round! We will return.

I gave communication an average score because I was very disappointed that a week prior to check-in they sent me an email to say they were bumping us from our 1 bedroom apartment to a studio because of overbooking. I had booked it 8 months prior. After communications, we got our 1 bedroom apartment. It was disaapointing to have to have those communications. Once there, it was fantastic .. location brilliant, quiet, friendly staff - Mo and Iva on the desk were great. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay ... after a shaky start! Would highly recommend.

Excellent location. Great walkability right on the Thames. They absolutely do not answer the phone and they don’t come clean your room or even empty the trash. But the full kitchen and two bathrooms is a huge perk.

Excellent hotel, great location south of the river near borough market. Bit of a walk to the tube but worth it.

Not easy to find as it is down a side street and not very good signage. Close to restaurants, Boroughs Market, Globe theater, Millennium Bridge and supermarkets a few blocks away. Hotel was very quiet, staff helpful, clean and modern amenities. Only downside is lack of counter top space (none) in the bathroom that my wife had to do her hair in the kitchen area. Kitchen was had all the utensils and fridge and microwave came in handy.

Loved the area. 10-15 min walk to 4 tube stations . Borough market was a 5 min walk .Literally 30 sec walk to the Thames. Won't be a view if looking for one. Staff was great . Will stay here again. Rooms were a great size .

The property lies on Bankside in clsoe proximity to train stations, busy markets and local sights, yet in a quiet side street, away from tourist streams.

Excellent location based on proximity to many of the must-see locations/attractions - everything seemed a 20-30 minute walk.

Great location with Tate Modern and Shakespeare theatre in less than five minutes walk. The Bankside scene is both peaceful and lively. And the market was so much fun!

Great location! 1 block to river, 1 block to Globe, 4 blocks to Borough Mkt. But quiet block with 2 small cafes. SPACIOUS, clean, good appliances. (Note no cone/filters for pour-over or brew coffee, only French press). Desk staffed until midnight. Very sleek modern spare vibe—not “cozy” but quite functional.

Stay was okay. I have stayed here before with my wife pre covid, and the 1st floor lounge area used to have snacks and drinks etc, completely empty now. Nothing there apart from a table. Room was tiny, we had booked the premium studio and it was so small with our luggage, previously stayed in the 1 bed and honestly premium studio room 405 was less than half the size. Not suitable at all for 2 adults with suitcases for 7 nights.

Great stay at Native Bankside, awesome location close to Tate Modern, London Bridge and Borough markets. Apartments are great with washer/dryer, comfortable large beds, cooking facilities and very safe and quiet.

It felt very quiet and private, such a great little street but so close to so much! The closest transport was the river taxi but we got picked up by taxis from the address no problem, and just a short walk to the underground, buses etc. There's two eating options just at the end of the street and plenty more close by. The hotel/apartment has everything you'll need, including a full size washing machine and fridge, and even a cooker/microwave and dishwasher. Really well designed. I kept thinking we'd just got really lucky but I can't recommend this hidden gem highly enough!

Great place to stay and conveniently located near a bunch of local attractions (London Eye, Borough Market, The Shard). Only downside is it isnt that close to any train stations (5 - 10 min walk for the nearest one, but only really an issue if the weathers bad or you have bags etc). Place itself is really nice - super convenient to have a skall kitchenette, dishwasher, washer / dryer. Would stay again and would recommend!

Excellent stay. Clean & newly renovated room. Helpful and polite staff. Very safe area. Close to multiple Underground stations (London Bridge, Mansion House, Bankside). Well situated for Borough Market visits, walks along the Thames, Tate Modern, The Globe and more. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This aparthotel was perfect. Able to make breakfast every morning and the evenings we were too tired to eat out the fantastic M&S food is 2 blocks away. Fresh towels every day. Everything to make a home away from home. Southbank location is London at its finest. Steps from Thames. So many sights. Convenient to tube/bus/bridges. Lots of restaurants on Queens Walk. And Borough Market! I have stayed in many places in Southwark, South Kensington , Notting Hill. This is where I will go from now on. Grandchildren in London so I’ll be back!
