The Beach Inn Motel

The welcoming yard to hang out along beautiful water was the best part of this stay. The guest services was so hospitable and check-in was easy.

Things need to be updated, carpet on outside hall has worn and rips that could eventually trip someone. Room below had loud exhaust in bathroom, rattling our floor. Lack of hot shower, they were warm not hot, and our toilet was loud when flushed. The motel is a great .location with large rooms that each look o to the bay. Parking was the last thing that needs update, once the outside spots were filled it was a mass free for all of cars in the middle where no lines existed.

Check in was great, felt welcomed & given recommendations for dining & touring, great map of the area. Liked their little tourist shopping area also.

Great views of the water from both your room and the adjacent balcony. Wonderful beds. A bit away from town. Be aware, as listed in their listing,, there is no elevator.

Off the back of the room there is a wonderful yard with lots of outdoor seating and area for dogs to play. It has a nice view of the bay especially at night. Free bags of ice as well.

Staff was very helpful professional and friendly While the property is older they do a good job keeping it clean and comfortable Being a dog friendly place makes it a good option and having all rooms looking out at the lake is wonderful. Would recommend

Reasonable price for a place to stay in Munising. We had the second floor and the view of the bay was pretty good. The property on the front lawn (lake side) had chairs, benches, grills and a fire pit. Cannot swim from the property due to rocks projecting the shoreline from waves. Sandpoint Beach is nearby and highly recommended. Rooms have in wall AC/Heat so the balcony is not quiet. Beds were comfy and bathroom was clean. Note to Dog Owners: definitely dog friendly motel like much of Munising is.

We usually enjoy staying at non-chain properties, but this was not one of them. The exterior is charming, with flowers and large lawn with ample sitting options out back next to the lake. But stepping into our room was so, so disappointing. The pollen / dust was everywhere. The wall ac unit was unplugged, and we later learned this is how you turned it on and off as the power button was broken. And the unit's vent seemed to have mold growing around it. Everything inside was tired looking, the mattress sagged, and the bathroom was sadly one of the worst. The sink and tub drained slowly; the fixtures were all pitted; and the floor was noticeably sloped. And baseboards were terribly past time for repainting. Retiring for the night, we found terribly stained pillows underneath the pillowcase, one even with some blood spots. The front desk manager apologized and stated this "was unacceptable" and provide a new pillow. In summary, this inn would fail a surprise inspection of any hotel chain, regardless of price. We are not picky guests but believe most would expect more than this, whether an overpriced tourist property or not.

Clean, quiet room

We liked that the property was directly on the lake and the outside had plenty of seating for viewing the sunsets. It would have been in a really good location, except currently there is a road closure just past the motel, which is not the motel’s fault. We did not like the cleanliness of the room. It is in desperate need of a deep clean. The baseboards along the edges of the carpet were white with dust, and The doors and trim were really dirty, and there were many cobwebs. The whole bathroom was in need of a re-do. The shower/tub combination was in really rough condition and so was the toilet area. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the view from the window was awesome! The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! They do not have ice machines, but there are free bags of ice available, which was a really good bonus!

Cute resort and super friendly staff! Beautiful location on the lake and easy drive to area attractions. Breakfast was nice! Only issue is room, bathroom was small, plug ins not easy, and it was just dirty.

The cleanliness in our room was a lot to be desired. Bathroom was not clean shower curtains had hair on them This bathroom needed a total overhaul. No soaps to actually shower with either. The lake view however was great. Not worth money spent to stay one day at all.

Staff was very friendly! Rooms were clean. Excellent view of the lake. Housekeeping did not come everyday to refresh towels and get trash. Other than that, it was a great experience!

Cleanliness was an issue and could be avoided by an additional 15-20 minutes of general cleaning. There were cob webs on ceiling in corner and around the window with dead bugs on window sill. White coffee tray was dirty and ice bucket had black mold spots around inside rim. Dust line around room in crevices where floor meets wall. 4” Dirty smear on entry door molding. White Drywall patch 6” x6” on wall by window not painted to match. No weather strip on bottom of entry door could see light coming through bottom of door (allows entry for crawling bugs). Needs a coat of fresh white paint around door casing and molding.

The motel exterior is very charming. Interior rooms are outdated and not very clean.

We loved the view! All rooms overlook the water and there are plenty of chairs, couches, etc to enjoy the sunset. There is not a beach however, which would have made it even more perfect since it is called The Beach Inn. Fire pits and s’mores would have been a nice touch as well.

Property needs outdoor games such as botchy ball, vball, horseshoes, etc. Better a/c units, and general services.

Good wifi great view

If you can look past the cracked paint,, outdated furniture, paper holding the bathroom fan in place, blocked view of the Lake, and a cheap breakfast ANS focus on the quiet, comfortable rooms, wonderful staff, access to unbelievable natural views, trails, and easy access to the dynamic Lake Superior then seriously consider the Beach Inn.

View is a 10. Older property, terrible mattresses, no dead bolt lock on door. Felt like I was back in 1975.

Lake front room with huge bathroom and super comfy bed! Beautiful birch trees shading our porch with comfy chairs! Dining room windows have a gorgeous view of the forest with birches right outside. Great outside huge lawn right up to the water! Close to town and the hiking trails!

This is a nice motel with friendly staff. The rooms are old and the amenities are similar to what you would expect 30yrs ago. The location is good, view is nice, beds are comfortable. If you don't like poofy pillows then you should bring your own. Big back yard area. Breakfast was basic continental. If you stay here you should manage your expectations. I don't think they advertise as a 5 star hotel and it's not. It's a 2 star motel.

Rooms are small and washrooms are also tiny. AC was making noise whole night. Breakfast was removed before the scheduled time. Not worth it.

We stayed there one night and while the property was nice, we were treated very rudely by the desk clerk when we asked for an iron and some hangers. No closets or place to hang up clothing present in our room or the room of our friends. We were told “This is the UP and not a fancy place” to which we wanted to reply, “So why do you charge the same as fancier places ?” So we would say “Be ready to wear wrinkled clothing while in the UP !!”

Beautiful setting and very clean. Staff is personable & helpful. Communication was great even calling us as soon as we booked and also checking with us before arrival. We would stay here again!

We had several problems with our room. The room had two dining chairs, but no comfortable chairs for relaxing. The doorknob had a simple lock with no deadbolt, not secure. Weird thing was the patio door had a deadbolt. Our shower head had a crack and before we realized it water had sprayed over the shower curtain and completely soaked the entire bathroom. My husband went to the office to let them know and get towels because all the ones we had got soaked. The maid came up, handed me new towels, took the old towels, but didn’t clean up the rest of the water, so I had to use a new towel to do that. Someone came and put on a new shower head which didn’t leak, but also had very little pressure. The worst thing was our last night. In the wee hours I woke up to a loud vibration sound. I thought my husband had left the bathroom fan on, because it was very loud, but it was off. My husband said the noise started around 1:00am. We decided the room below us had left their fan on because the floor of our bathroom was vibrating from the noise. We got little sleep due to the noise. The person at the desk apologized in the most unsympathetic tone of voice. She said she couldn’t help that they left it on. I replied that if the fan worked properly, it wouldn’t have kept us awake. She said we’ll take care of it. That was our last night, so I have no idea if they will fix it or not. I requested a call from the manager in an email, but still heard back. Great location and comfortable bed

Nice property although dated, but for that price point, I would have expected a little more. Toiletries was one tiny bottle of just shampoo and sliver slices of soap. The towels felt like sandpaper and just lukewarm water from the shower. For over $250/night not much in the way of added amenities. Staff at checkout was not unfriendly but indifferent. A fire pit on this property would be awesome!

This motel is not fancy, but it is clean, comfortable & the staff are wonderful! We had a lot of questions & they were patient & so helpful! They went above and beyond when we left an item behind to make sure we get it back. On top of it, the views in the back are beautiful!

Last minute stay at this resort and we loved it. The gentleman at the front desk was so nice. The property is beautiful. Loved all the chairs by the water. Definitely will be back.

Great location close to Pictured Rocks and all the small restaurants and shops on Munising. The owners take pride in taking care of the property and all the staff are friendly and helpful.

Very nice Motel right on Lake Superior. Backyard of motel has plenty of seating available on lawn to gaze at lake, watch sunset, have coffee. Place is clean, staff is accommodating. Close to Munising Falls. Just a couple minutes into town for Boat tours, shopping and dining.

It was a cute place. Little dated for our tastes but it reminded me of my childhood. Very nice staff and it has great views. Location to the downtown area is perfect.

We Had An Awesome Stay At The Beach Inn Motel. The Room Itself Was Very Clean, The Only Reason For The 4 Star On That Issue Was The Dog Hair Left On The Balcony. The Staff Was Ok, But Ran Out Of Items On The Breakfast Such As Tea Bags & Other Items. No Elevator Here & Parking Is Limited But Beautiful Sunsets From Well Taken Care Of Grounds Or Balcony.

The location is good, just east of Munising. Property itself is dated and could definitely use a refresh. Breakfast is the very bare minimum.

The rooms are old, with cracks in the walls, and the bathtub drain was very slow. The breakfast was subpar. No elevator. For the price, I expected much more. It's a Motel 6 at best.

Check in was great and even told us about local things to do. Continental breakfast had a good variety and their sunset views are to die for. Strongly suggest this motel.

It was a beautiful hotel. Could use a better breakfast. Wasn't worth the $200 a night.

The place was very beautiful, and everyone was nice. It’s right on the lake so you can go watch the sunset from the property. The room was nice and clean. I wish the bathroom sink had more counter space, but we made do. The continental breakfast was less than desired- very basic.
