Great experience overall, limited dining options, the food served at the hotel for breakfast and the rooftop are just very average basic but not bad. Biggest gripe was they didn’t notify us until the day of that they would be closing the pool for a fashion show. We went to see our son who’s graduating from the military and got family day. We specifically booked this hotel for the pool so when he got off base he would be able to enjoy the pool (he loves to swim) so that was our biggest let down. However without that and all things considered I would still recommend this hotel for its exceptional cleanliness and great customer service

The hotel is beautiful, upscale experience. Friendly staff! Limited food options, nearly none within short walk. At the end of the Riverwalk, approximately 1.5 mile walk to Shops/Restaurants by Riverwalk. Spa was quite dirty, no pool or hottub in spa area or no direct access to pool from spa. Pool and rooftop closed early for special event. Lookout to deserted hotel.

Perfect place to stay in San Antonio although the valet parking is overpriced. The hotel takes many of the free street parking places for their valet and that is simply unfair or maybe illegal because they don't own the street area.

Housekeeping did not show up on a consistent basis. Two restaurants are promoted on their website but one of them was closed. Dinner at the hotel was reserved eating only. Knowing about the other hotels around the river walk, I would rather use another hotel for a better stay.

Spotless room, quiet with comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Enjoyed the tea in lobby and water fill stations for the refillable bottle that was provided at check in. The instant hot water in bathroom was noticeable. Often times (other hotels) have to wait several minutes for shower to heat up. Only complaint is lack of racks to hang towels/washcloths. Only 2 hooks.

Food was good although the 22% in room dining service fee seemed a bit much. If there was an option to waive the service fee if I picked up the food myself would have been acceptable. Room was clean and comfortable but it got very hot sometimes although the AC was set to 68. Maybe if there was a room fan or better temperature controls.

You can enjoy your stay in peace, staff was great, the view from the top floor and the pool floor were great, coffee and breakfast were great (especially the granola parfait), and it’s close by the rivercenter. Only a 10 minute walk to a plethora of shops and food options. What more could you ask for.

The A/C unit in our room was not working at all. We woke up sweating in the middle of the night. Too tired to call again downstairs after they had sent someone to supposedly fix the problem. It was a disaster as we did not get much sleep.

John and Felipe were amazing. My reservation was over booked so I could not stay 2 of the 4 nights planned. The staff took full responsibility and found accommodations at their sister hotel and when we arrived at the Thompson we were upgraded to a very nice suite and the hotel covered our parking fees. They went above what I expected to make sure that I knew that they were sorry for the inconvenience. Great staff great from the front to valet and very luxurious hotel. Thank you John and Felipe and the Thompson Hotel staff.

I had the worst experience with the Thompson hotel , I got charged another room, because their system wasn’t populated with Expedia . Charged my card WITHOUT authorization . And when called and confronted they took no blame as if their system and charging my credit card with out my permission.. Great hotel but will charge your card without you knowing it . Sadly horrible experience but the manager Angie was nice

The Thompson Hotel was really nice well kept and clean only draw back was the restaurant on the 20th floor service was great but sadly the kitchen was extremely slow on both Saturday and Sunday evening however both night’s they comped us our food to make it right which was really nice!!

The Thompson Hotel was phenomenal! I was even able to check in early, which was a huge plus. The only downside was that the front desk clerk didn’t provide much detail at check-in, no directions to the elevators, no explanation of the little things, and not even a mention of which floor my room was on (I had to check the envelope myself). At a hotel of this caliber, I’d expect a bit more attentiveness with those details. The valet staff helped with all the questions. They were vet helpful! Other than that, everything else was absolutely awesome!

Very nice property and the staff is very helpful... but two points... while it says it\'s on the Riverwalk, it\'s well removed from the "real" Riverwalk, and where most of the attractions and facilities are. Also, valet parking is available (about all there is for parking), but it is way overpriced....

The hotel was very nice! The staff and other guests were friendly. The walk downtown was easy (despite some noisy construction), and the beautiful Riverwalk couldn’t be more convenient. I recommend a stay if you are visiting San Antonio.

We were attending a concert at the Tobin Center next door. Thompson is quite nice and Landrace is excellent. Rooms are a little small, but certainly acceptable. Service, including valet, was excellent.

Our stay was amazing, the bar staff were really great and made our night way more enjoyable. Unfortunately there wasn’t any AC in the bar area however the drinks made up for it. The evening DJ on Saturday after a wedding, let just say was not good. Nonetheless the hotel is beautiful and our room was amazing ! Would definitely visit again.

Beautiful property! The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. The front desk and spa staff were wonderful. We tried every bar/restaurant in the hotel and the service was terribly slow and they were always out of a lot of things. Even the most basic stuff. I would recommend leaving the property for food and beverage.

We enjoyed everything but especially its proximity to the river walk without being in the hub of it. Also the roof top pool is superb, the restaurants sooo good, and it is next door to the Tobin center!
