The hotel location was amazing. Great staff and amazing check in! Cannot recall his name but he was great. The restaurant however wa aa bit of a disappointment. The food was not good at all and I even told the waiter the steaks were not good as very rough and I didn’t even eat mine. Nothing changed. No credit or offer for something else.

We stayed in the new section which is the building behind the main entrance on High St. It was super quiet, the apartments are handsomely appointed and the location was wonderful. So while you're in the heart of a tourist area, you'd never know it. We loved everything about this hotel and it has a great gym.

Fantastic location, ancient buildings but tastefully remodeled. They upgraded us to apartment with lots of room. We were there during festival but our room was tucked in the back was quiet with great balcony and view. The staff was great, their gym was being renovated so they sent me down to sister hotel.

Location and staff were great. Bar and restaurant were both good and cafe with outdoor seating on High street, Royal Mile. Room had a Washer/dryer combo plus a kitchen. Room coffee was decent and there was an unopened container of milk in the small fridge. Walk in shower with high shower head i easily fit under without ducking down. I would definitely stay there again.

An amazing location on the Royal Mile right across the street from St. Giles Cathedral. Our room was not in the main building, but was down a Close, through a gate and up 2 flights of stairs. No elevator. The staff carried our bags up to and from the room, so no problem there. Very comfortable in all aspects. A washing/dryer combination machine was a big help, although cycle took over 4 hours. We didn't use the kitchen, but it was nice to have. Included breakfast choices were excellent as was the food. All of the staff were friendly and extremely helpful when needed. When we next visit Edinburgh, we will stay there again.

Excellent room in great location right in the middle of the Golden Mile. Also excellent reasonably priced restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner. We faced the Golden mile and sound was completely insulated. Use their app where you can chat with them during your stay Very friendly staff

Great location for High st and Castle. Room was spacious but dirty. Not vacuumed large dust bunnies? made me feel uncomfortable about hygiene. appliances did not work. The apartment was fabulous. Very spacious, modern and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. Everything was spotless and there was a daily housekeeping service. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location, and generally a great hotel. The cleaning/maid was awful and skipped my room multiple times. Was also hard to get a hold of the front desk, they were not there for a while one night when i was trying to buy a snack, and you don't have a phone in your room. The light switches are very annoying also, but overall a decent value. The front desk staff was great when you did get their attention.

Beautiful hotel. Clean, updated, quiet and in a perfect location on the Royal Mile. We stayed for one night, went on an overnight tour and stayed at a different hotel when we returned. I wish we had stayed at this hotel the entire time!

Location of our hotel was perfect, in the centre of the Royal Mile. Even though we faced the street, in was quiet. The church bell was silent between 10pm -7am. Practically no storage for clothing and nowhere to store our luggage was unfortunate, as they were always open and in the way.

Great location in Old Town. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spotless. We had the townhouse room, which is separate from the rest of the hotel, off of Advocate’s Close. Fantastic room, but the voices from the Close are a bit amplified - probably not the best room for light sleepers.

This is a great location right on the Royal Mile. I was surprised how quiet it was even at night when people were out late just right outside. My only issues were with the size of the apartment. It’s quite small. The bed was very small. But everything was nice and convenient, the staff was helpful and friendly and it was nice to have food options onsite.

Wow! We were impressed with this property - directly across the street from St Giles Cathedral, so it is central to everything in Edinburgh. The breakfast and dinners were absolutely wonderful. Our room was set back from the Main Street - divided by a little courtyard between the street-facing building and our apartment building - so it was incredibly quiet, even during the Fringe Fest. Lovely stay. We had an apartment style place. But it didn’t have AC. Luckily it was not too bad with the windows opened at night. Breakfast was included which was nice. Very touristy area and close to shops and restaurants. Beautiful city.

We booked a king sized bed but ended up with a queen. Apparently this was a ‘European King’ not identified as such on the website. The following day we were relocated to a room with a North American sized king bed. Nick at the front desk was amazing at taking care of us

Overall a nice room. Lovely linens and a comfortable bed. The nespresso machine was nice to have too. On the down side the TV didn’t work which was annoying - we didn’t want to call someone to fix it when we tried turning it on at midnight, too late for the hassle. In addition to that the pressure in the shower was so low it was barely usable. Not really ok for £400 a night.

One of our favorite stays during our trip. The room was so spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Our room was on the ground floor and overlooked a courtyard between two closes so I thought we’d get a lot of noise but we didn’t. We loved how close it was to everything, and the price was super reasonable. We paid to have breakfast included which was a good call because I thought the food was great.

VERY disappointed. Our two apartments were in a completely separate building. Never disclosed to us. Two guest over 70 years old had to walk outside in rain and wind and climb multiple interior and exterior steps just to go to breakfast or lobby. Staff refused to arrange airport transfer, Just gave us website of provider. Never experienced that before with a "quality" hotel. Did the same thing with restaurant reservations. Just a list of more than a dozen places. Had to push for help with a simple reservation. No housekeeping at all one day. Bad other days. One hand and bath towel for two people. No bath mat, tissue or other basics. Great location and quaint but layout is outright dangerous and service needs a lot of attention.

We stayed in the new section which is the building behind the main entrance on High St. It was super quiet, the apartments are handsomely appointed and the location was wonderful. Wow! We were impressed with this property - directly across the street from St Giles Cathedral, so it is central to everything in Edinburgh. The breakfast and dinners were absolutely wonderful. Our room was set back from the Main Street - divided by a little courtyard between the street-facing building and our apartment building - so it was incredibly quiet, even during the Fringe Fest. Amenities were great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here -

THE best location possible. Steps to the castle and everything you want. Hotel is super clean. You’re directly across from St Giles church and not many cars up here at hotel because street is made for walking around. Great beds and quality soap in showers. Bedding is great, blankets great and mattresses were the best we’ve had on our 3 country trip. Staff walked us to our rooms and carried our luggage. Lots of steps in Edinburgh- but if you stay on the street it’s easier with luggage. 5 minute walk to Waverly station so you can do a day trip to St Andrews. Room was stocked with tea and snacks and that was a wonderful touch.

One of our favorite stays during our trip. The room was so spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Our room was on the ground floor and overlooked a courtyard between two closes so I thought we’d get a lot of noise but we didn’t. We loved how close it was to everything, and the price was super reasonable. We paid to have breakfast included which was a good call because I thought the food was great.

This property was just extra special, planning to come back to Scotland in 2027 and this will be where we book. The property is a little confusing but that is part of the charm. Everyone that we encountered was beyond friendly and helpful and just wonderful. We stayed in the room that has the little bed nook along with the king bedroom and was PERFECT for our family. The room was so spacious and the beds were beyond comfortable! The kitchenette was so nice although we only used for coffee. Lastly the restaurant was incredible and the food and coffees were perfect. We even went back on our last day for lunch even though we had already checked out because it was good.

The hotel location was amazing. Great staff and amazing check in! Cannot recall his name but he was great. The restaurant however wa aa bit of a disappointment. The food was not good at all and I even told the waiter the steaks were not good as very rough and I didn’t even eat mine. Nothing changed. No credit or offer for something else.

Amazing property, fantastic location. Although in the heart of the city the property was well insulated against noise and fully air conditioned. For those visiting the city for Fringe you basically step out of the hotel into the fringe! The hotel uses the restaurant next door to provide breakfast and food if needed. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

The staff at the Cheval Old Town Chambers was fantastic. They were super helpful and always were able to assist us with the questions we had. The only issue we had was when we stopped in at the bar for a drink we never got any service so we ended up just leaving.

Great hotel with spacious rooms in a perfect location. Staff are also excellent. Make sure you pre book a table for breakfast as we didn’t in the first morning and had to wait 15 mins.

Excellent room in great location right in the middle of the Golden Mile. Also excellent reasonably priced restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner. We faced the Golden mile and sound was completely insulated. Use their app where you can chat with them during your stay Very friendly staff

Loved it! Our room didn't have a washer/dryer, but the hotel offered to do the laundry if we needed it. Otherwise, the room was nice: comfortable bed, good sized bathroom. Not much storage for clothes if you like to unpack for longer stays. But the mini-kitchen was nice to have. The location is brilliant. Most of the tours we did (including a ghost tour and castle tour) meet right across the street at the St. Giles church. It's a very walkable location - near Princess St., Victoria St., the Grassmarket area etc... And the staff was wonderful, very helpful. The food at the restaurant, Lockenbooths was pretty good. Not the best - our breakfast was cold but dinner was good. It's convenient if nothing else. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location on the Royal Mile. Hotel was clean and spacious. We had a washing machine in our room which we LOVED and was very useful after long hikes. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
