Great hotel! My stay was great, beautiful rooftop pool, 10 min walk to the beach (3 long blocks), super cool stadium and track next door. The regular room was a bit small, but still really nice for value. Excellent service. I’d recommend this place for couples and families looking for an affordable option. Solo travelers, there are more exciting options!

The property is in a quiet area, just 3 minutes from 5th Avenue and Calle 34. The hotel has 4 floors, with rooms mostly on floors 2 and 3. Floor 4 has a gym, a handful of meeting rooms, and two rooftop pools (one with music playing and facing the ocean, one is quiet and facing the next door soccer field), along with a bar. We heard absolutely no loud noises from the area, except during the day where you can hear the rooftop bar music playing most of the time. There is a Super Chedraui on the street level below the hotel - super convenient for snacks and meals. The hotel is cared for, but is showing age despite being a new build. Some door signs are missing letters and numbers, and someone has inked pink where the white letters used to be. The air conditioning malfunctioned twice during our stay: one was planned during the day (we were out of the room for the day anyways), and one was an emergency malfunction the next day, where the AC was shut down overnight, making for a very uncomfortable 28 degrees in the room. The windows did not open and it was very suffocating. But when the AC works, it works VERY well. The lobby restaurant and lobby bar were empty most of the time (not the hotel's fault - 5th Avenue and other local eateries are nearby). Exception was during breakfast, which is always moderately busy. Shoutout to Alejandro, greatest of the waitstaff. But altogether - the hotel is a good hotel, in a great location. The staff do their best to make your stay comfortable.

Had a nice stay at Aloft in PDC. Staff was super friendly and the roof top pool/bar was awesome. Parking below hotel was a plus. Internet good. Bed was nice. 1 block from 5th Ave. Hotel had some AC issues but was not a deal breaker.

Wonderful, new hotel centrally located but distanced enough from the crazy and loud hussle and bustle of 5th avenida. Breakfast is lovely, the place is brand new so everything works and is elegant. The two rooftop pools are top-notch. I really look forward to returning on vacation, and not a business trip!

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a great pool area, big rooms, and comfortable beds. The only downside was the bathroom layout with sliding and glass doors opening to the hallway/room, which is not very practical when travelling with friends. Excellent location right by 5th Avenue, close to restaurants and shops, plus a good gym and outdoor training options across the street.

The Aloft is a great location to 5th Avenue and the beach. There is a very large supermarket on the 1st floor which was very handy for whatever we needed. The rooftop pool was a great place to relax except the music wasn't so relaxing in our opinion. The only negative thing was that we did have to ask for different things that weren't restocked in our room.

Where to start: we arrived 1 AM to the lobby by 34th street. Nobody was there, only to discover the real lobby is 1 floor up across a little plaza. There were no signs alerting guests. We arrived to a room with towels so old that were threads. The morning after, as we were rushing to an appointment, we discovered the safety box had no batteries. We had to wait 15 minutes and 2 phone call later for a lady to come and discover the box was not working. I had to stuff all my belongings in my back pack. They gave us a new room later on ( Jesus the front desk man was with a “ I don’t care” attitude). We had to go back, re-pack and move 2 doors down. The new room had a faulty safety box, cracked floor with exposed nails. That night we ate in the room and some crumbles fell to the floor. I picked as many as I could and used my hand to group them at the edge of the hall ( to avoid stepping on them in the middle of the night). Said crumbles stayed untouched after the room was “cleaned” the following day. Seems Aimbridge Latam Bajo ( operator of the hotel) is in the need of a good manager with a basic checklist for hospitality.

El aire acondicionado no funciona es un infierno siendo un destino de playa. El personal muy amable pero no basta con eso. La habitación sucia cuando la entregaron. No hubo ningún tipo de reembolso o de compensación por el problema. En la alberca no te sirven bebidas frozen porque se les descompuso la licuadora. Pésimo todo muy mal para ser un hotel de la cadena marriot.

Location based on dining and shopping was great. Staff was great. DISLIKE: The fitness room was unusable for us as there was no air conditioning. We asked and they said the air conditioner had been down 4 months. Really not acceptable for a Marriott property. The room size was very small with little closet or drawer space.

Cons: • The water pressure in the shower was very low, so it took a long time to bathe. • Towels and bath towels were old and thin. • Although there were four of us (three adults and one child), only two towels and two bottles of water were provided. • The front desk staff didn’t seem very enthusiastic or welcoming—they always looked busy. • The pool water was cold, and guests had to leave a deposit to borrow pool towels. • Due to limited time, we didn’t end up using the pool. • The hotel ran out of key cards, so each room was only allowed one card. This review is a struggle because there were both big pros and cons. The pros are the location is great, it’s a newer hotel with decent amenities, very clean, and the staff is wonderful. They were also very kind to my dog, and provided some goodies and a dog bed for his stay. My gripes are with the building itself. My first full day there, the AC for the building went out from 10a to 7:30p. I didn’t sleep there that night, because no one answered the phone to confirm that it was back on. The AC in my initial room struggled as well, and it took 3 days of my sweating inside the room before they would give me another room. The internet also went out one day, which isn’t good for remote work. They were accommodating even with the challenges. If you intend to spend most of your days out and about, and only sleep here, this would work great. Otherwise, consider the shortcomings.

The room was great. Amazing infinity pool and rooftop as well. You can see the sunset that overlooks a soccer field. So nice. My two main concerns based off of other peoples reviews were the noise and hot water. The hot water was never an issue. Didn't matter what time of day we showered, it was always steaming hot. The noise is trickier. I did not hear any construction noise that some people mentioned. Did not hear cars as well even though we faced a street. Just the occasional loud motorcycle, but it's the city, that is expected. The noise that was the most bothersome was the DJ music from the roof at night. The bass would cause our room to vibrate at times and it went until 1am every night. I can sleep through almost anything, but if you are sensitive to that type of noise when trying to sleep, then I suggest you look elsewhere. Aside from the noise, it was a great stay and I'd probably come back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a great pool area, big rooms, and comfortable beds. The only downside was the bathroom layout with sliding and glass doors opening to the hallway/room, which is not very practical when travelling with friends. VIP Access property and front desk didn’t know what that is, she checked with another employee and she said they don’t honor it. Everything I asked was a no. If it wasn’t for the PM employees, I would give the front desk a 1 star. Nothing really sets this hotel apart from the many other hotels and AirBnBs I’ve stayed in Playa and I think I was expecting the same service/experience as the Aloft Cancún, friendly & upbeat.

Front desk was a bit rude , doesn’t realize the most important thing is time , would give one key making us return for another , not telling us about the charge for towels in the pool area making us waste more time going downstairs just for towels all of this can have been avoided if he just did that during check in , it wasn’t busy , nobody waiting just laziness and lack of hotel knowledge and policy

Had a wonderful time here. I always try to stay here due to location, staff, and the Aloft name. Staff all the way up to the General Manager are great. Great english spoken, and the property is fresh and clean.

My husband and I stayed here for a friends wedding nearby and while check in wasn’t until 3 pm, Alma at the front desk allowed up to check in sooner due to time constraints. She was professional and kind. We would definitely recommend.

Where to start: we arrived 1 AM to the lobby by 34th street. Nobody was there, only to discover the real lobby is 1 floor up across a little plaza. There were no signs alerting guests. We arrived to a room with towels so old that were threads. The morning after, as we were rushing to an appointment, we discovered the safety box had no batteries. We had to wait 15 minutes and 2 phone call later for a lady to come and discover the box was not working. I had to stuff all my belongings in my back pack. They gave us a new room later on ( Jesus the front desk man was with a “ I don’t care” attitude). We had to go back, re-pack and move 2 doors down. The new room had a faulty safety box, cracked floor with exposed nails. That night we ate in the room and some crumbles fell to the floor. I picked as many as I could and used my hand to group them at the edge of the hall ( to avoid stepping on them in the middle of the night). Said crumbles stayed untouched after the room was “cleaned” the following day. Seems Aimbridge Latam Bajo ( operator of the hotel) is in the need of a good manager with a basic checklist for hospitality.

This was my third visit to the Aloft in Playa del Carmen. The staff was super friendly. They were very accommodating when I needed to extend my stay and helped me with directions to local restaurants. The location is excellent. You can walk to everything, including the beach. There is a large grocery store underneath the building and several restaurants and shopping nearby. Well worth the notably affordable price.

Our stay was excellent. The location is convenient for food, near excellent restaurants and near the beach. We left some belongings in the hotel at the hotel and the staff went out of their way to get our belongings to us. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. I was very impressed with the staff. The location is great, and we generally like this Aloft. However, this time was very different. From them not honouring commitments made prior to our stay, to late check-in times, cleanliness issues and difficulty obtaining anything from the front desk. We will not be staying here again unfortunately.

The property is in a quiet area, just 3 minutes from 5th Avenue and Calle 34. The hotel has 4 floors, with rooms mostly on floors 2 and 3. Floor 4 has a gym, a handful of meeting rooms, and two rooftop pools (one with music playing and facing the ocean, one is quiet and facing the next door soccer field), along with a bar. We heard absolutely no loud noises from the area, except during the day where you can hear the rooftop bar music playing most of the time. There is a Super Chedraui on the street level below the hotel - super convenient for snacks and meals. The hotel is cared for, but is showing age despite being a new build. Some door signs are missing letters and numbers, and someone has inked pink where the white letters used to be. The air conditioning malfunctioned twice during our stay: one was planned during the day (we were out of the room for the day anyways), and one was an emergency malfunction the next day, where the AC was shut down overnight, making for a very uncomfortable 28 degrees in the room. The windows did not open and it was very suffocating. But when the AC works, it works VERY well. The lobby restaurant and lobby bar were empty most of the time (not the hotel's fault - 5th Avenue and other local eateries are nearby). Exception was during breakfast, which is always moderately busy. Shoutout to Alejandro, greatest of the waitstaff. But altogether - the hotel is a good hotel, in a great location. The staff do their best to make your stay comfortable.

Wonderful, new hotel centrally located but distanced enough from the crazy and loud hussle and bustle of 5th avenida. Breakfast is lovely, the place is brand new so everything works and is elegant. The two rooftop pools are top-notch. I really look forward to returning on vacation, and not a business trip!

Stayed here for our first time in playa del Carmen. A short walk to shopping and dining and there’s a grocery store with a coffee shop, deli and salad bar downstairs which helped a lot. Taxis always parked outside ready to take you anywhere. The pool area was clean and I liked the bar, the wings were AMAZING! Hotel was clean and quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Warning: don’t book your tours with the guys on 5th ave. Waste of time, money and lack of communication.

Very nice hotel, bright and modern. The staff is friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was lovely, great wine and the food was fresh and delicious. The pool area is beautiful. The hotel opened in 2023 I think. I loved so much my first stay there in 2024 that I wanted to come back this year and it was fabulous. Very good breakfast, clean, friendly staff, two Amazon infinity pools with a view and a huge grocery/restaurant/convenience store down at street level. Only suggestion: a maintenance of gym equipments.

El hotel es súper en cuanto a instalaciones y su terraza es lo mejor. Lo peor es el desayuno. Hay opciones limitadas y faltan proteínas. Algunos días no reponían cosas básicas como Yogurt o Cereales. Tampoco había Bacon o Fiambres de calidad. Y lo peor es un mozo que se hace el simpático el primer día y si no le das propinas todos los demás días te ignora , no saluda y desgarra. This was a great hotel in a fantastic location but a few things could be improved - the flow of water in taps and showers was severely restricted - despite being a decent breakfast buffet spread, the quantity of food was not replenished based on guest counts We enjoyed our stay and will probably go back
