We adored our 2 night stay at The Gunrunner! The downtown Florence location was delightful. Easy to walk about this charming town. The uniqueness of this locally owned boutique hotel was worth the price. Exquisitely comfortable beds! Lovely gathering space that all rooms opened out onto. Rooftop deck was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Fantastic boutique hotel! My husband and I were on a road trip and decided to tour Muscle Shoals Fame recording studio. Found this gem for a quick overnight. The only regret is that we didn't have time to enjoy all of the amenities - spa, bar, etc. Hoping to get back there someday.

Wonderful unique hotel in Florence. We golfed across the River then drove into Florence to stay the night and have dinner. Loved the ambiance of the hotel. Our room was huge, with a nice balcony. On site parking was a bonus. We walked to dinner at Odette and it was surprisingly delicious.

This was the second time I’ve stayed with Gunrunner. At the last visit there was zero parking due to the bar guests however I was able to arrive at check in time prior to the bar peek and found a spot. I did find it gross that the body wash and hand cleanser were only half full. I went to target,which is thankfully close by,and purchased my own. Still, paying over 400 dollars a night I should’ve had complimentary soap. The bar was severely understaffed. I waited over 45 minutes for a drink. Ended up ordering two and just went to my room. The room i stayed in was the Smithsonian and it was cozy/comfy. I will comment though that it was exceptionally loud all night long. There should be a curfew so that paying guests can sleep. The coffee shop is a new area since my last visit. I didn’t stop in but it smelt amazing as I was leaving and seemed to be a popular spot.

It was unique, a little hip/funky, beautiful, comfortable and well-situated in the middle of downtown Florence. I note that I could hear the bar and music, but the bar closed around 10:00, when I went to bed. It took a little while to get hot water, but then it was fine. There needs to be better instructions to operate the (useful!) electronic devices & it would help to tell people that registration is at the bar.

We selected this hotel for a baseball tournament. The music in the lobby did not end until 10 pm. We had to be at the baseball field at 745. The rooms were dusty, and bugs were flying around; the hotel does not own the coffee shop, and it didn’t open until 8 am, and on Sundays, it’s closed that was so disappointing and inconvenient the amount of money we paid that weekend for this hotel was ridiculous

It was not very accessible. An elevator would've been nice to help get luggage up to the main level. Also, our room needed an extra mirror in the living space and better lighting. Most of the time there was no one around to ask questions, help, etc. A phone # is nice, but not like having a real person to talk with.

Almost everything was great, but it would have been better if there were someplace to hang towels or toiletry bags in the bathroom. There were no towel bars or hooks, and there was plenty of space for them to be added.

Fantastic boutique hotel! My husband and I were on a road trip and decided to tour Muscle Shoals Fame recording studio. Found this gem for a quick overnight. The only regret is that we didn't have time to enjoy all of the amenities - spa, bar, etc. Hoping to get back there someday.

Wonderful unique hotel in Florence. We golfed across the River then drove into Florence to stay the night and have dinner. Loved the ambiance of the hotel. Our room was huge, with a nice balcony. On site parking was a bonus. We walked to dinner at Odette and it was surprisingly delicious.

We had a hard time finding where to go to get into the building to check in, couldn't locate ice, but other than that is was great. Unique rooms, and great overall experience. Hope to visit again and stay in the Muscle Shoals room next time and for an extra day.

It was unique, a little hip/funky, beautiful, comfortable and well-situated in the middle of downtown Florence. I note that I could hear the bar and music, but the bar closed around 10:00, when I went to bed. It took a little while to get hot water, but then it was fine. There needs to be better instructions to operate the (useful!) electronic devices & it would help to tell people that registration is at the bar.

Stay was excellent, the room was well setup. Could be a little extra cleaning. The common area/ bar was outstanding and really the best part of the hotel. Walls are a little thin, neighbor was celebrating aittle long and late. Overall, would highly recommend it

I absolutely love the speakeasy and art deco vibe of this hotel! The suites I stayed in were lovely. My favorite was Billy Reid…And the service was great especially exceptional from Marissa, the bartender. The hotel better have her replacement step up their game because Marissa’s absence was definitely felt on my last evening there. The service wasn’t as soulful and warm.

This was the second time I’ve stayed with Gunrunner. At the last visit there was zero parking due to the bar guests however I was able to arrive at check in time prior to the bar peek and found a spot. I did find it gross that the body wash and hand cleanser were only half full. I went to target,which is thankfully close by,and purchased my own. Still, paying over 400 dollars a night I should’ve had complimentary soap. The bar was severely understaffed. I waited over 45 minutes for a drink. Ended up ordering two and just went to my room. The room i stayed in was the Smithsonian and it was cozy/comfy. I will comment though that it was exceptionally loud all night long. There should be a curfew so that paying guests can sleep. The coffee shop is a new area since my last visit. I didn’t stop in but it smelt amazing as I was leaving and seemed to be a popular spot.

We selected this hotel for a baseball tournament. The music in the lobby did not end until 10 pm. We had to be at the baseball field at 745. The rooms were dusty, and bugs were flying around; the hotel does not own the coffee shop, and it didn’t open until 8 am, and on Sundays, it’s closed that was so disappointing and inconvenient the amount of money we paid that weekend for this hotel was ridiculous

Excellent location and a unique and well thought out regeneration of an old building. Didn’t see a lift so beware as there are two flights of stairs, but it’s worth it!

Bar and rooftop were great and drinks were excellent. Location was great. However, we had problems with plumbing fixtures, door lock and noisy a/c unit. We felt that price point should’ve involved a full time front desk with baggage assistance. There was no elevator and stairs were required to get to rooms.
