No1 Apartments Edinburgh - George IV Bridge

The property was perfectly situated. BEST place to stay for Harry Potter enthusiasts and even got those that are not. We stayed in a unit that had a perfect view of Edinburgh Castle and overlooked Greyfriars Kirkyard. The apartment sits right above the old Elephant House where J K Rowling thought up the storyline. The place was clean and the staff was so cordial. Clean towels, shampoo & shower gel & good quality lotion. Clean bedsheets although no top sheet & everything you need in the kitchen. There’s Italian restaurant, Vittoria’s that was amazing as well. The staff, food & drinks were perfect. If you have a rental car, plan to walk far for parking. You can load/unload in front of the apartment , but It’s definitely a walking town. And everything is in walking distance from this place. Be prepared for a bit of noise from the streets on Saturday night, but Sunday night was quiet. Overall, the pace was perfect and I’d recommend it to family & friends.

The apartment is centrally located near Greyfriar’s Kirkyard and Victoria’s Street with a breathtaking view of the Edinburgh Castle. Super spacious and thoughtfully and elegantly decorated. The washer/dryer and dishwasher in the unit were nice to have. We appreciated the welcome basket with cookies, tea, and coffee. Comfortable king-sized bed. We all-around had a wonderful stay and felt truly spoiled. I highly recommend staying here! Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

Great location. Walkable to Victoria st and grass market. So many food and ice cream shops nearby. Walkable to Edinburgh castle as well. Love the vibe of the city. Hosts were great communicator. One of the twin beds in the bigger room slipped a bit.. so I had my daughter sleep in that one…LOL! But otherwise beds were very comfortable. Wonderful to have a washer and dryer (all in one) heads up it takes about 4 hours to 1 load. We stayed for 3 nights and they came and cleaned the kitchen and brought fresh towels and made our beds in the middle of our trip, which was a treat. We were in apt. 7 on the top floor so we had 73 stairs every time we went to our apartment… whew!!! But had a great view of the castle from our living room and kitchen window.

This is the only place to stay in Edinburgh! We stayed in Apt 8 on the top floor and there was an amazing view of the castle and city from our room. The apartment was in a perfect walkable location in the heart of the city. The style of the apartment was clean and modern. We really loved staying there. It was nice to have a washer/dryer in our kitchen since we were half way through a 10 day trip. The 2 bedrooms were really nice and had skylights that we opened which made it really comfortable to sleep. The stairs leading up to the apartment were a lot (3 large spiral staircases), but well worth it.

Super location. Cute apartment with plenty of space. Nice touches throughout. Beds were comfortable. Personally fine with stairs, but not the place for those who cannot manage several flights of stairs. Had a great stay! Definitely recommend!

Wonderful property - excellent location just a couple of minutes walk from the Royal Mile and Grassmarket. Just the right size for a family of 4. View of the castle was such as added bonus. The only downside was having the tackle 3 flights of stairs with heavy luggage, but it was a great workout and worth it when you got to the stop. Wonderful holiday, thank you!

They were around daily even though the guidelines for the room indicated an every other day trash removal at most. Cons - Pre-arrival communication. Did not receive responses to my questions sent via the hotel.com app and eventually via email due to lack of response - I did not receive the email with my apartment number and door code till 1000 on the day of arrival. The team had mentioned messaging within the 72 hours prior. It was even more odd because I got tons of communication regarding WiFi access, food, check in security information needed- passport and CC information but not the anxiety inducing stuff given we were coming from out of the country. I ended up calling from the airport on arrival at 0800, got a code, then around 1400, the manager texted me and gave me a different code. Finally at night around 2130 I finally see the email with the code which was sent that day at 1000. Given limited access to emails when traveling that was silly waiting till 5 hours before check in - “Gift basket” is a misnomer - teas/instant coffee plus biscuit samples - beautiful but narrow bedroom- minimal floor space for luggage - need better instructions for washer -no parking -loud late Pros - very clean, open floor plan - responsive manager - good housekeeping -full kitchen with freezer and ice packs - good WiFi - good TVs - proximity to everything is gold

Great location in Edinburgh. Very close to the Royal Mile. Also loved the view of the castle. Be aware that there is no elevator. If you're on the 2nd floor like we were, there are a lot of stairs to climb... with luggage. Their luggage storage was available to use before check in, but it was totally full when we got there so it was no use to us. Had to sit there with our luggage for about 30 mins until a manager showed up and let us keep our bags in our room until we could officially check in. Would be helpful to know this before.

The apartment was very nice, cozy, clean in a great area. The only negative was that i was not prepared to climb 72 steps to the apartment. I should have read the fine print that there was no lift. But a fair warning should be highlighted. My friend had to go to a hotel.

Great apartment with an awesome view of the castle. It was beneficial being able to catch up on some washing. The apartment was spacious and easy to find. Note there isn’t parking nearby so allow for this. It was an easy walk to the recommended car park.

A great location! Close to Victoria Street and the Royal Mile, but with shops and cafes nearby. The place was clean and comfortable. Definitely would use again!

The property has been styled beautifully but the finish of the paint work is poor. The flooring, radiators and windows could all do with an uplift. The location was great for all the sites with lots of restaurants on your door step. We did however find the property very noisy at night and struggled to sleep with people coming back from pub crawls late at night.

The property is not as luxurious as the photos make it out to be. The bathroom sink was backed up, a fire alarm on the main floor was beeping for over 24 hours. The safe did not work. Overall, for the amount of money spent, it was subpar.

Unit itself was ok but in need of some repairs. TV in the bedroom did not work and lamps were falling apart. Hallways were dirty with an oder. No elevator should be clearly specified. Communication is very poor. I sent a text to the propert manager and never got a response.

Perfect location for visiting Edinburgh. Was on a busy street in the old town. However-I managed to sleep very well. Place was clean, easy to access and the bed was very comfortable. Provided with a store cupboard for luggage for both arriving and departure. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Edinburgh

The signage outside is very small and and not really obvious. The "hint" of entrance between "a" and "b" does work. Front entrance smells funky but apt was fine

Excellent location, super clean

The apartment was amazing. Super comfortable, and swanky. We absolutely loved it. The kitchen is great. The kerig machine was wonderful. The couch was comfortable and it looked over the historic graveyard and up to Edinburgh Castle. However, there is a nightclub close by that was VERY noisy -- like shrieks and shouting that sounds like it was in your actual room noisy. My daughter and I travel with noise-cancelling ear buds with white noise and the noise still kept us up. This lasted until 3:20am both nights we were there. As much as I adored our apartment, I don't think I'd come back.

Apartment is in excellent condition and amenities were great. The only downside is the location as it’s super noisy 24*7 so not good for light sleepers. Will stay in one of their other locations next time.

We really loved the location and amenities in this apartment. It had a very nice view from the living area to the castle. It was nicely furnished with coffees, teas, snacks and offered all of the necessary items should you wish to cook or eat at the apartment. There was really fun art in the apartment and in the corridors leading to the apartment, we enjoyed this nice touch. The only downside of this place is that it can be a bit loud at night from late night party-goers down the street which is to be somewhat expected in an urban environment. I would recommend bringing ear plugs to offset the noise. Other than that, this was a wonderful space and we enjoyed our stay very much!

Great apartment, comfortable and clean in a good location. We parked at NCP castle terrace, 15 mins walk away £36 for 24 hours. There was a lot of noise from the street due to location but it didnt bother us. Arran aromatics toiletries and robes/slippers were a nice touch. The manager text us on day of arrival so we had his number for any issues. Only minor thing is the place was roasting, we kept turning the thermostat down and it kept going back up so must be on some sort of schedule. But would rather be too hot than too cold! Bed was very comfy. We also had a view of the castle from bedroom window. Overall we had a great time and will definitely stay here again.

We arrived after a long, overnight flight. Jet lagged and tired and had no idea how to get in. Hauled our suitcases around until we found wifi. No email. Tried chatting and no response. Contacted Expedia who had a phone number, as we had none, and finally got an entry code and apartment number around 4 pm. Also, clients should be told they will have to get their bags up over 50 stairs on their own.

Fantastic location with great views of the Castle and Palace. Jan, the host, was terrific and so very helpful when asked. No question, we'll be back to stay.

Spent 8 nights here and was very happy with the apartment.mYou can walk almost anywhere or public transit is available right outside the front door. We had one minor mechanical problem in the apartment during our stay which was rectified very quickly. Would stay here again.

My two boys and I had the best time in Edinburgh! The apartment was super clean and a phenomenal location, so close to everything! Communication was excellent. I am actually a flight attendant, and have been recommending this place to all my coworkers and friends!

Excellent location. Beautiful and well appointed space with a stunning castle view. Communication was courteous, timely and efficient. Only wish we had more time there and hope to return.

The property does a very poor job of communicating with guests. I encountered a couple of issues during my stay, and there was zero customer support to help me to resolve these issues. The washer/dryer combo was not working correctly. Additionally, my partner complained that the bed was very uncomfortable- I found it to be average. The location is good, but that's probably the only positive from this stay.
