Great location across from railway station. We were on a room only basis so no idea about food but the loft bar is fabulous. Quiet at night, comfy bed! Good shower. Clean. Complimentary mini bar very useful especially fresh milk for the morning cuppa. Will stay here again.

Great stay. Staff were lovely. Enjoyed Nor Loft-staff were friendly and welcoming. Perfect location and very modern. Only downfall is there was a sewage smell at times in the hotel but I’ve seen other comments that it’s to do with the old systems which is understandable

Amazing location being in Edinburgh, would def stay again. The room was perfect for what I needed as well as breakfast being included was a plus. The only and biggest downfall is the parking is a NIGHTMARE. I was driving a Hyundai Kona and the parking garage they suggested the entrance was so skinny I couldn’t get my car in without risking damaging it. While I understand that is a “me issue” I wish the property would communicate beforehand multiple parking options for their guests. I only knew about the one because after driving around for an hour looking I finally called them. I ended up parking in another garage connected to another hotel. If I didn’t have such a great experience in every other aspect I would consider staying elsewhere but I HIGHLY recommend this property.

Wonderful hotel. More like 5 star than 4. Dyson hairdryer, GHDs provided; full minibar - all complementary. Strange check-in system - you have to go straight to 7th floor. Lovely champagne bar with delicious light snacks. Impeccable service.

Everything from arrival to check-out was great. Rooms were spacious and very clean, staff was super friendly, champagne on arrival (which we were allowed to check in very early), bar on the 7th floor was very nice, and in a very good spot in the city. Market Street Hotel is a fantastic place to stay.

The location is super convenient to Waverley stations. The room was nice but there was an overwhelming odour in my room. Not sure what it was but it smelt like old onions or something. The rest of the common area were fine so I’m not sure what was causing it.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Location is perfect, a couple of minutes walk from the train station and central for all attractions in the city. The room was spotless and spacious, super comfy bed, complimentary mini bar and champagne on reception. The rooms had a Nespresso machine and milk frother, Dyson hair dryer, GHD straighteners, steamer, toothbrush, robes, slippers, it had it all. The champagne lounge on the 7th floor is a great spot for a drink with stunning views of the city. Kayleigh was amazing and very welcoming. I cannot wait to return, we’ll be back soon.

Check in was great, and the hotel took our bags a few days early and had them ready in our room. The main issue was a strong smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. When I raised this issue with the front desk, they said they would get maintenance to look into it. When we returned later in the day, the smell was worse and we received no further communication from the hotel.

The bedding needed to be changed it was covered in small hairs. When we asked for new bedding the receptionist and person bringing new bedding were not friendly and seemed put out. In addition, in the loft we had one bartender who was very dismissive when he learned we wouldn’t be eating or getting more than one drink. Other than that our stay was decent. We loved location and most staff were friendly.

extremely well thought out, customer service forward property(and also just stunning). im talking dyson blow dryers and everything in your room is free, AND RESTOCKED. they had me at coffee bar in each room (yes and the milk is restocked). across the street from the train, and up some steps to the royal mile. but on an extremely quiet street. dont even bother looking at other hotels. this is it.

This hotel over exceeded our expectations. Not only it was in a an amazing location, across from the train station (it was super quiet and couldn’t hear any street noises), the staff was super friendly greeting us with champagne and the rooms mini bar is complimentary. Yes, you can have whatever you want from the mini fridge and snacks at no additional cost. The hotel restaurant was amazing with a great view of the city and the staff was friendly and so pleasant. I recommend this hotel 100%. I swear I never leave reviews because I hate being that person and I’m super picky, but this one deserved a glowing review. Oh, I can’t fail to mention that the blow dryer is a Dyson dryer and the floor on the shower/toilet section was heated. The bed was super comfortable too. I will be looking for hotels of this chain going forward.

This hotel is a little different. You take the lift to the top where reception is, and the rooms are below:) The rooms are not so big, but we absolutely like the design. Our room was a little dark, but so nice. If we go to Edinburgh again, we will for sure visit Market Street Hotel again.

The best part about this property is the man at the concierge and the convenience to old town, Edinburgh sites, restaurants, train station, etc. The room itself was not a 4-star experience. The set up was our biggest complaint. Very very small. The shower didn’t have a curtain or door and got the entire bathroom soaking wet, including sink, floor and toilet, which was also unsafe. Small inconveniences like location of plugs, comfort of bed, no nightstand on one side of bed, no washcloths, etc. were a bit annoying and unexpected for a hotel rated 4 stars. Also the check in process was frustrating as we were supposed to be greeted with champagne but they didn’t have glasses and the room was about 20 minutes past check in time.

Great location next to Edinburgh Waverley station, and most attractions a walkable distance or transport links nearby if needed. Room was spacious with all the necessities and the complimentary mini bar and snacks available at the time was a nice touch. Due to the design of the building, the windows were a bit on the small side in our room, so natural light was a bit restricted. However, still a nice place to be overall. The bar upstairs is a nice place to have a drink if you fancy it, but there’s loads of restaurants, pubs and bars nearby.

Very tiny rooms! However, they were very nice & clean. The bar did not want to even let us in for a drink without a booking - even though we were guests of the hotel. The location of this hotel is on the very lowest level of the city center. If you have problems walking MANY stairs, you may want to find a hotel further up the hillside. All said and done, this is an upscale hotel so it is very nice. Just maybe a little more upscale than we are accustomed to.

Great location. Right next to the train station and amazing views of the city from the lounge. Great place to stay in Edinburgh. Our Room had A/C which was really needed in August. Only negative is that the room was extremely small. I had to walk sideways to get around the bed. I’m a small person so it didn’t bother me that much, but for my husband it was a little cramped.

Very poor serivice. My wife arrived ahead of me at midnight but they would not allow her to check in as they said it had to be the person who booked even though we had the same surname. When I eventuall arrived I had to wait outside until the staff member came to buzz me in even thoigh it was freezing and wet outside. When questioned the receptionist about check in he literally ignored my questions. When we eventually got checked in we were told we could not order a drink even to our room and only the mini bar was available which had a selection of over thought drinks that were not appealing. We also booked a room with a view but were on the first floor overlooking the main road

Overall, Market Street Hotel is in a wonderful location and has great, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. The only thing that didn’t give it five stars was the check in process. They require you to go to the top floor, luggage in hand, to check in. When the line is long, it’s an extremely cramped space that is shared with their rooftop lounge.

We had a great stay at Market Street Hotel. The location, directly across the street from the Edinburgh Waverly train station made transportation to and from the airport easy while also being in the middle of the action, but still quiet. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were clean, quiet and lovely. There were complimentary drinks and treats in the room, with a great coffee maker and electric kettle for tea. We can't wait to return!

This hotel was incredible, in large part due to the outstanding staff who were friendly, helpful and really made you feel like they were glad you were there. Very tiny rooms! However, they were very nice & clean. The bar did not want to even let us in for a drink without a booking - even though we were guests of the hotel. The location of this hotel is on the very lowest level of the city center. If you have problems walking MANY stairs, you may want to find a hotel further up the hillside. All said and done, this is an upscale hotel so it is very nice. Just maybe a little more upscale than we are accustomed to.

The people at check-in were so nice! Friendly and super helpful. The guy at the bar was kind of a jerk. Bed was excellent, lots of sundries supplied and everything in the room was complimentary! Would definitely go back!

Excellent location. Enormous room. Clean and comfortable. Champagne all the time to appreciate the beautiful view in the restaurant. Point of attention: staffs that seems to be cold and rude, when you do not made an appointment for breakfast or need some extra help. Few ones as Mr. Eduard were exception. He in exception is careful and give genuine attention for guests’ needs. He made our mornings pleased.

Great hotel and has an amazing bar over looking city. The hair dryer and straightener in room! So amazing !!! The bed is very very cozy! Sate place ! Coffee shop next door and the restaurant to the left is very good and great drinks! Everything is great except: beds are SMALL (full at best. Here is the main negative... the stairs!!! Anytime you go to the main areas at all to eat or tour it is a LONG LONG staircase up every time! Seriously it is a deal breaker! Inwould stay in a hotel up higher much higher. We are in shape but geez these are the most stairs ever! BE WARNED the stairs are a lot!!!!! Brings my review done from 5 star to 3 star LOCATION!

A few things would knock points off. I found my à la carte breakfast - hummus on toast with poached egg - quite unpleasant. Also there was a weird buzzing in my room unless I turned off one particular light. But actually the hotel is lovely. The bar area is spectacular. And the staff were very attentive. (I’m sure they would have sorted any issues if I’d bothered to mention them.

Couldn't find fault - a warm welcome to a modern, tastefully appointed hotel conveniently situated in the city centre with easy access to the statiin and all the main sights. The room was silent due to a clever window shutter design. The Nor' Loft provides a drink with a view and breakfast was excellent - extensive buffet and hot food cooked to order.

Location is ideal, close to everything. Breakfast is very good with a daily cup of champagne, with an amazing view on the city. Room is very comfortable with free mini-bar refiles everyday. First time I see a Dyson hair dryer and ghd in a hotel! You are welcomed with a class if champagne, and you can also enjoy another one on the terrasse once per stay. Lovely stay!

Stayed for 2 nights, reception was on 7th floor, our room was on floor 1 so we did not see reception after check in. The hotel is right across from the train station (Waverly) which is so nice when you are pulling several bags! The room was nice, had a sink separate from the shower/ toilet which I like. Our shower drain was poor and you had to keep turning the water off to let it drain, but using the handheld sprayer worked fine. It is so close to the Royal Mile, shops, restaurants and attractions. Would stay there again, but hopefully with better drainage!
