There are bus stations right outside the door which makes it very loud and unsafe to go in and out. Lot of homeless people staying outside very loud drunk people roam at night. Street cleaning which is very loud. Poor ventilation. No lift mind you have to carry your bags up the stairs.

Great area for people watching. Small grocery store next door was great! Beds were awful. Shower had something resembling mold. Shower floor caving in. Water didn’t drain completely and always felt like we would fall through at any moment. Bus stop at the front door, although convenient, always had to fight a crowd to get in or out the door. The stairs to the room were crazy. 49 stairs with huge suitcases was just too much. This would be a great little place for a night or two. I spent 10 nights and it was just too long to go without sleep because of the beds. I cannot stress enough how bad the beds were. And the lack of clean linens and towels was unacceptable.

Location was very good. Close to many tourist attractions which is the positive feedback. While we understood there was no elevator, we did not know what specific room we would be in at the time of booking, and found out the night before we were on a top floor unit. We had to haul our luggage up 60 stairs which was difficult. Also, as there was no air conditioning in the suite resulting in the windows needing to remain open all night to get some air flow, and being so close to the tourist areas, the noise from people on the street / bars / restaurants was constant and made it impossible to get any sleep. It was still very noisy at 3:30am. Even with the ear plugs that were left for us to use (which was a kind gesture) no one in our group of 5 got much sleep. Fortunately, we were only there for one night due to our travel schedule because i dont think we could have done another night there.

The property is in a very good location in Old Town. Just around the corner from the Royal Mile. Very walkable, including to Waverly train station (but don't take the route with the long steep staircase!). The area is noisy at night, so you can't sleep with the windows open which is inconvenient on a warm night as there is no air conditioning. The one bedroom unit that we stayed in was very clean and modern. It is quite small, so although you can fit 4 people in the unit (with the pull-out couch), it was a bit small for our group. The kitchenette is very functional. There is no lift/elevator, so be aware if you have luggage.

The suite was great and had lots of room for myself and two grown daughters. I always love having a kitchen and this had everything we could possibly need. Even though it was quite warm when we were there the suite wasn’t too hot but could be if it got hot as only one window opened up a bit in the kitchen. We were on the top floor and had large suitcases which would be very difficult to get up if we were older or had mobility issues (my daughters had to carry the bags up). Even without baggage the stairs were quite the climb. The location was perfect. Walked out to the street in Old district with a full array of restaurants, shops, and pubs. A short walk to the Castle and train station. Would recommend!!!

Not a safe area. Drunk people at entrance way. Tight stairway with NO elevator. Extremely difficult to bring luggage to third floor. Not clean washroom with seems to be blood stain at all toilet rolls. Small rooms with no head room. Overall poor conditions. Strongly NOT recommended at all.

Love this spot. Location is great, suites are large and very well decorated/equipped. Loved it. Things to note: No elevator so you will climb stairs and the location is great but that means crowded and street noise is a thing (earplugs provided). We had some issued with plumbing (just bad luck) but the manager was very helpful/responsive and did what they could to resolve. Our stay was rough but this is a great spot that I’d go back to.

Suite had a good location and nice set-up. Good instructions for access. Two major problems though - firstly there was a very bad odour from in the bathroom and as the door was a fire door, it was impossible to keep open to ventilate it. Secondly and this was the major issue, the window in the main bedroom was poorly sealed and as it faced out to a bar / club, that was open until 3am, it was incredibly noisy. My wife and I barely slept before 3am. Whilst ear plugs were provided, neither of us sleep well with them in.

Great location for access to the old city. Room was well used and a bit worn. Bathroom smelled a bit (stale water maybe?) so I purchased an air freshener. Fully functional, had most things you need.

Fabulous location for seeing all of the main sites in Edinburgh. Modern amenities, very clean, and a nice touch having tea and shortbread out in the kitchen. Very responsive via email and text. Highly recommend if you’re wanting to be in the heart of the city!

The property was clean, modern and had all of the kitchen features you would need. The only drawback to this accommodation was that it was a bit noisy outside and you could hear other guests in the hallway and their accommodation. As well, there was limited space to place your toiletries in the bathroom.

I’d love to give this 5 stars but I can’t. The room itself was lovely. A bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette with living room where the pull out couch was. Conveniently located near the royal mile. But that’s where the niceties end. The street it is on is insanely loud at night. It’s directly across from a nightclub so it is constant shouting, and loud people at all hours of the night. The hotel provides ear plugs if that’s any warning and they do not help. It is also tucked away inconveniently behind a bus stop so it’s difficult to maneuver to the front door. Not to mention we were up 4 flights of stairs with no elevator so we had to carry all 4 of our heavy luggage up many flights of stairs. The bed is so unforgivingly hard you can move on one side and not feel it on the other. The pull out couch sagged about 6 inches from the head to the feet portion. Again, the hotel itself was nice, very clean and beautiful. But 3 sleepless nights due to noise and comfort of the beds dropped the rating of this one for me

Flat was clean and had great amenities ( i.e. fridge, kitchen, shower). However it was too hot even with the windows opened it was still 29C. The bedroom had a good sized fan. The room with the sofa bed was only made bearable by the other fan but it was still too small.

Great location but expect a bit of noise because it’s located in a busy area. Lots of good shopping and dining options. Reception staff were helpful and communicated well Shower was quite fussy to adjust and the temperature varied a lot -made it challenging to shower comfortably.

Great space for the price. Comfortable, spacious, and well located. However, the apt was very warm since you cannot open any windows and it was 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit when I was there. Thankfully, they provided a fan which I had running 24/7 when I was there.

Apartment had everything you'd need for a few nights in the city. Clean and well laid out. Very comfy bed. Great location for the old town. Very helpful staff who were responsive when I had an enquiry prior to my stay. All round great experience, would reccomend.

This property was great for us. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was quick to reply with any questions or issues and was extremely helpful. When we noticed the shower was clogged and couldn’t drain at 8:30pm on Sunday, once we called/messaged they sent someone over within 20 minutes. The fixed the problem right away as. We were all showering by 9:30. There is a lot of stairs you have to walk up and the ceiling on the 3rd floor is low so be prepared for that. The kitchenette was very clean and well appointed and we loved the location

Great location close to train station (though we did walk past twice - perhaps more info about EXACTLY how to find entrance). Great facilities and would recommend and stay again. It is noisy as our apartment was on main road, but ear plugs provided and once asleep didn’t hear a thing. You are in a City and should expect noise. We had a minor maintenance issue so I text the Mono Suites team and it was resolved very promptly - impressed by communication and attention. It’s all code numbers for access, so no need for a card which is a bonus. There’s also lockers at the main entrance so if you check in or out before given time you can store luggage. Really good idea.

Clean, neat and accessible to bus drop off and train station. Greggs, covenience shops and other eateries are around the areas as well. As the accomodation entrance is not very obvious, so be careful not to miss it especially when we arrived, it was raining heavy and dark in the evening. Thanks

ThIs property was centrally located for walking all over old town. There was a bus station right outside the door which would have been handy but we enjoyed the weather and walked all over. The only suggestion I would make which is a tiny one...door stops would be handy. All the doors are big thick doors and they are on spring hinges so they close automatically. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed in unit 21. Very loud from traffic and Pedestrian traffic. Buses run very late and there is a bus stop immediately outside the entry. People always blocking the entrance.

We had a great stay at Mono Suites. The location is extremely convenient, with access to restaurants, a grocery store, transportation, and ease of walking to the Royal Mile. The only drawback was that, since there isn't air conditioning (it's unnecessary, due to the normal temps there), we opened the windows to cool things down. Our apartment was facing the sun and warmed up quickly. With the windows open, it was extremely loud and made it difficult to sleep at night.
