The location is everything, right in the heart of where you want to be. The free walking tour was a huge bonus. The pods gave you privacy from the other guests. Everyone was quiet and respectful. There was a communal kitchen that I saw others taking advantage of. I enjoyed the coffee shop in the lobby in the mornings. Would definitely recommend to any solo travelers staying in Edinburgh.

This was my 1st Hostel experience and supremely glad I went with this place. It’s central to everything in old town Edinburgh. It also has fun experiences like whiskey tasting, taste of Scotland, and a free walking tour of the nearby surrounding areas. Volunteers are very helpful. Great kitchen options and opportunities to cook for yourself or bring food in. The pods themselves were comfy and easy to fall asleep in. Only downside is there is limited laundry access so wash accordingly and dryers aren’t the best. Had to hang dry clothes.

10/10 stay!! Would 100% recommend! Located in the heart of Edinburgh, just off the royal mile, this hostel provided the perfect stay! The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Check in was quick and easy! I took Advantage of the luggage storage upon arrival, which is free for all guests. The pod itself is a good size, each pod is fitted with a small shelf, a light switch and a usb charging port. They provide free fans and extra pillows can be provided upon request. Towels are £3 to rent and you can keep them for the duration of your stay. The shared bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughly my stay and where always tidy. The showers are amazing! They are super powerful and come with a waterfall shower head! Each pod is allocated a locker to store all your belongings, they are spacious and easy to use. The overall security of the property is great, only people staying are able to enter the rooms as you are given a unique code that gains you entry. Each night there are themed events that are complete free to join which is a great way to meet new people. They have a small restaurant downstairs that offers a variety of food options that are very affordable. There is also a water bottle filling station. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place enough! I will definitely be booking again!!

Second time staying at CoDE and loved it again! Private and comfortable pod style dorms, clean and spacious bathrooms/showers, well equipped kitchen, and a great common area. The hostel also offers social events like walking tours, and whiskey and beer tastings (some free, some paid). Very well located right on the high street so it’s only a 5 min walk from Waverley and right in the action.

I stayed in the Courtroom and was pleasantly surprised with how comfy the beds were. Bathrooms were clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also delicious, and I liked the option of pre-ordering it through their guest portal to save a few ££. Would recommend!

We stayed at the private suite. Room wasn’t cleaned properly (garbage cans were full, sink clogged with hair, dirty shower). I guess that’s what you can expect of hostel. Location was the only positive thing I can say.

The room smelled like wet and the restroom are not throughly clean. The male still came in without acknowledging themselves in the women restroom. The staff downstair were helpful and caring!

The power was on and off for two days and when they were working on it , it was unclear at night how to get to the front door. On the 3rd day the women's washroom was out of order. I did use the shower the day before but unfortunately te soap and shampoo from the other shower drained into mine. The was no compensation offered for the power or bathroom issues. Even a free coffee would have sufficed.

The location is convenient, in the centre of the old town. The bed is clean and comfort. No chair/sitting area in the room. Only one hook to hang clothing/towel. I stay in LG01(lower ground) for five nights - during rainy days, the rain jackets made the room very humid. Also wifi/cell reception is terrible in LG especially at night.

Fantastic location. The pods offer much better privacy than normal bunks. The lighting in rooms and bunks is at a good level. The lockers are big and don't need padlocks. There's even very moderate Aircon (down to 22 degrees) to keep the room fresh without going mega cold at huge expense of energy. Quiet too. I had a 6-pod room and that meant it was pretty reliably easy to get a good sleep without too much disturbance. All kept VERY clean. A nice touch to have a shared (left behind) food provision in the nice kitchen. If I had to give constructive feedback it would only be that the wait at reception was always long.

Great place to stay. Location is super great, staff were lovely, bathrooms are all super modern. The rooms themselves are great - the door closing could be quieter..! But your bag is able to be stored in a big locker which is fab, and the pods themselves are cool I’m 6”5 so my ankles stuck out the end of the pod. I’d say if you’re over 6”2, this will be the case for you.. but that’s ok, I’m used to not fitting in things. The bed and bedding was comfy, and at no point did I feel claustrophobic! One of the usb charger ports wasn’t working which was sad but the other was so not the end of the world. A good night’s sleep to be fair - much better than any hostel experience I’ve had before.

I slept in a dorm for women, it was nice and quiet with limited noise, I will admit friday/saturday night was a little rough with the noise levels but I had my own earplugs so it was easy to fix. One issue, I am woman who is around 185CM or 6'1 and the pod is a bit small for my long body, so I my feet go a bit outside the pod unless I slept on the side but that was also a little rough on the leg space. Maybe make them a little longer like 6'3 or 190CM long so that a tall woman such as myself can enjoy the pod a little better next time.

However I don’t think I’ll live at the top bunk cuz every time I wanna go down it will take some courage… Another thing is that they will need to use passcode and sometimes I can get lost when I first came here. So clean, the restroom just so impressive, quite spacious and they clean it every single day. very affordable, definitely recommend.

Staff member Jana was a consistent friendly and extremely helpful host during my 2 week stay. When the room was delayed 2 hours after check in she would provide a happy smile and cup of tea. When I had a small medical emergency and my legs stopped working she was immediately helpful and found tonic water for me in the back room to ease the spasms. She was the ultimate Host during my stay . TOP NOTCH , Thank you for all your kindness Jana !!!

Our stay at CoDE Pod made the trip. The hostel was perfectly situated close to the main sites, and was a comfort to return to. Great food and bevies, friendly and enthusiastic staff, comfortable mattresses, and clean spaces. Highly recommend.

10/10 stay!! Would 100% recommend! Located in the heart of Edinburgh, just off the royal mile, this hostel provided the perfect stay! The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Check in was quick and easy! I took Advantage of the luggage storage upon arrival, which is free for all guests. The pod itself is a good size, each pod is fitted with a small shelf, a light switch and a usb charging port. They provide free fans and extra pillows can be provided upon request. Towels are £3 to rent and you can keep them for the duration of your stay. The shared bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughly my stay and where always tidy. The showers are amazing! They are super powerful and come with a waterfall shower head! Each pod is allocated a locker to store all your belongings, they are spacious and easy to use. The overall security of the property is great, only people staying are able to enter the rooms as you are given a unique code that gains you entry. Each night there are themed events that are complete free to join which is a great way to meet new people. They have a small restaurant downstairs that offers a variety of food options that are very affordable. There is also a water bottle filling station. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place enough! I will definitely be booking again!!

Really exceeded expectations. Location is fantastic - central royal mile. For a relatively inexpensive hotel (including dorm / bunk room options) the hotel was beautifully designed and maintained. Food and staff in the lobby were both great. Would definitely recommend.

Location and price can’t be beat to stay during Fringe. Kitchen wasn’t available due to renovations. Service at cafe was very slow everytime I ordered. Hope these can be improved on for future.

I stayed in the Courtroom and was pleasantly surprised with how comfy the beds were. Bathrooms were clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also delicious, and I liked the option of pre-ordering it through their guest portal to save a few ££. Would recommend!

The staff were friendly and helpful. As a middle aged female solo traveler I was nervous about using a hostel for the first time. I recommend Code Pod Court. It has perfect location, attentive staff, and the on site restaurant and free activities were a plus.
