The person at the desk was friendly when we first checked in but not informative. The others manning the desk after that were either not very friendly or helpful. The cleaning staff were nice. There was a blood stain on one of the sheets on the bed that we asked for a change but why would anyone put a blood stained sheet on a bed to begin with?? The hotel pool is advertised as heated but was freezing the first night we were there plus a strange sewer sulphur like smell permeated the pool area. It was heated after that for a bit bc a guest we met at the pool said she specifically requested it…so it’s definitely capable of being heated but only heat upon request…lmfao. They have a basic breakfast buffet that’s free at most other similar hotels…but not this one. The walls are paper thin. Definitely not worth the money

I live in the town it’s located. And I booked it and called them to let them know it was a pool party for my daughter’s birthday. They heater on the pool was out and the water was freezing. The kids could only swim for about 10 mins and their lips were turning blue so they pulled it. They said the heater had been out for a couple of weeks. In my opinion, a professional establishment would have called and let me know so that I could make other arrangements for my daughters birthday. It was very disappointing. The staff did the best they could in the moment

This was an awful experience. First, it was very expensive and nothing about the property justfied the cost. Our check in experience was off putting. The lobby smelled terrible, the woman at the desk was curt and very unfriendly. Our room was in dire need of repairs and the sheets smelled like a dirty gym locker. It was the worst Hilton property stay we've ever had and it may well be our last. I have contacted Hilton regarding this stay but have heard absolutely nothing from them. It's extremely disappointing

The bathroom door didn't lock and would stick. It took all our strength to open it. Bathroom in the pool area smelled worse than an out-house. No breakfast included, not even a cheap one. $50 per night extra if you have a small dog.

Great hotel although our shower leaked terribly because they have installed the shower door incorrectly so that the water pours through the silicone lip. Get extra towels to mop it up.

Probably the best accommodation we've ever stayed in (our room was marvelous). The breakfast was excellent value! Only one comment was we could hear people walking overhead and kids outside in the corridor.... Otherwise absolutely stellar!

This is a newer modern hotel and it has a decent restaurant connected to it with a bar that makes it very convenient for travelers. The room was clean except for a few spots on the ground and the bed was comfy. Only two things made me give this less than 5 stars. The blackout shade device in the room seems to have been added later and it is very slow and cumbersome to use. Having it be a manual would probably be easier for most guests. Although the electronic version seems more “modern”. Parts of the curtain had been torn out either from the device itself or maybe from frustrated guests. Another issue was the pool and its cleanliness, while it was heavily chlorinated it was also a slight green color which tends to be an issue ay most of these chain hotels, so not overly specific to this location. Oh, and another issue that I’ve been facing with all Hilton brand hotels lately is the fact that they advertise daily housekeeping but then have stickers in the bathroom saying that they will only service your room every other day during your stay. Even at their top tier hotels. I understand the economics of it but at the same time I am paying to have clean towels and linens before I have to call and wait for service. This Hilton Garden Inn was not any different. Overall it was a good stay over in Hays. Would stay here again.

Property was nice and clean and comfortable. The room had some danger built in, the bathroom door is a barn door. It was also very heavy, the door slides very fast and it slammed on my son's hand. Also a badly placed lamp that multiple people knocked their heads on. The bathroom door does not lock, if you have kids you need privacy that was weird.

Did not eat breakfast there as it was not included as we thought it was. Our tv did not work for the entire stay. They sent a person to look at it but he didn’t know how to fix it. There was no offer for us to change rooms and no compensation offered. Would have been nice to have offered us breakfast or a rate adjustment. Poor service

Desk check-in staff member, Devon, was exceptional! He handled himself with professionalism and extraordinary self-control in the face of numerous guest checking in and challenges. In addition, he had an unusual case of two mixed up bookings between myself and another guest, named Sharon McClellan(d), that caused some real confusion for him, her, and I. In the end, it all worked out and Devon handled it like a pro!

Receptionist was alone in a very busy hotel. She was stressed over whelmed and undertrained. Failed to provide correct information about rewards and failed to deliver fold out to room after chastising us that is was necessary due to 'fire code'. I don't blame her, she needed help. This is a nice property, management should do a much better of staffing...including management being present on a busy Saturday evening. Do better.

My room lock had issues for the second time I’ve been there. Hotel management had to call multiple times to coordinate when to reconfigure the lock so it would work again. And for yet another trip, despite requesting a late check out, placing the “do not disturb” sign on the door, explicitly communicating with front desk that I’ve had problems in the past and to please communicate with cleaning staff to not knock on the door prior to check out, and to further that, I spoke with the cleaning staff as well…I still had them knocking on my door multiple times prior to my late check out. I work nights so this is very frustrating especially since this happens every time I stay here. There clearly is a problem with the communication between the hotel and cleaning staff.

The staff make the stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Hays memorable. Devon remembered my name, but he had a unique story to go remember it by. But it made the connection wonderful and he took great care to provide a handicap room for my mother and I make our stay more comfortable.

The gentleman working the front desk was attentive to my request about a baby crib and rushed to find me one. The check in was quick and seamless, even though there was a line of people the front desk clerk moved the line along ver y quickly and was courteous to everyone. The room was perfectly clean and they accommodated my request for a tub. My family slept wonderfully and will stay again if ever in Hays!

Great hotel for an overnight stop on the way to Denver! Easy location just off of I-70. Check in was a breeze. Rooms were spacious, especially for a family with small kids. Beds were very comfortable, and overall rooms were quiet despite being near the highway. Breakfast buffet could improve but it was convenient. Checkout was also quick and easy. There’s a Walmart nearby for needed trip supplies. Would definitely stay here again next time!

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Love it. Staff is great, bartenders and wait staff are above average. Just wish breakfast was automatically included as we always forget to choose that option when we reserve. Only down side is the path to the hotel is difficult as you have to navigate thru other business's driveways to reach the front door. But it hasn't stopped us from booking this property and we will again.

So my room did not include a breakfast option so I had to pay for it. Ok fine. But to charge $10 for a breakfast buffet that only had dry muffins and dry pastries with the only hot options being a very empty scrambled egg tray, over cooked and dry potatoes and the saltiest bacon I’ve ever had. Sad. Sure order options but I didn’t have time to wait. I expected a better option for this property. I’ve had better at a lesser property. I would book here for the room and other amenities but go elsewhere for food.

Hotel was nice but staff not very well with it. Also the coffee in lobby was cold each time I went to get it, even in the morning. I think it’s ridiculous that they charge for a breakfast “ buffet” which is not any better or as good as some of the hotels we stayed at that offered same thing for free!…not to mention the hotel prices sometimes were 75- to $100 cheaper

Looked new, room was very large and comfortable. Long day traveling so we opted for dinner at the hotel. It was very good. Breakfast is not included at the hotel, unfortunately, but we opted to buy breakfast there based on our dinner experience. Breakfast was horrible from the coffee to the meal. Neither of us ate our breakfast. Otherwise we had a good stay.
