Forshaws Hotel - Blackpool

Ended up getting stuck in the lift for 30 mins with fire men having to come out room was dirty and mold in bathroom never ever will I stay here again.

Building is extremely run down, previously stayed here when it was an Ibis and couldn't fault it however now seems poorly maintained, examples: lightbulbs not working in the room or in corridors, uneven bathroom lino (bumpy from previous flooding from shower), coat hangers above the spare bed (so was unable to hang anything up or our daughter would have anywhere to sleep). The room didn't appear to have been properly cleaned- dust. On a positive note- the bed was comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful however appeared to be over worked. We saw one cleaner running up and down the stairs, hoovering, emptying the bins- working very hard! Perfect location! Before you park!!! Ask about the discount for parking in the multi-story on Talbot road, we wasn't told until we were leaving and could have saved over £10!

The photos of the property on the website are very deceiving. The public areas of the building are delapidated and lots of crumbling plaster and very worn and dirty carpets. No guests in bar and public areas so no intimate feel or atmosphere

The staff were excellent and rooms clean. However as someone with a disability both lifts went out of order so long flight of stairs meant problems. Plug in heater in the room fused into the socket. Could have started a major fire. Will definitely return but only when the refurb complete. Price was excellent value for money

Hotel was great. Fab location. Parking was abit of a nightmare but after ringing the hotel they gave us directions to one that offered a discount with our stay which was a great service.

The rooms were great value for the money.the staff were friendly and helpful .the breakfast was not worth the money we paid.the first night the bar was open till 1 oclock but we called in last night for a night cap at 11 30 and was told the bar was shut.i would stop again but would not have the breakfast

Only stayed for night was really good location lovely bed clean and basic Can't really moan about anything really for the price I paid Lovely staff Bar area good quirky and trendy The Fabulous arse seats made me giggle

Great location . Right in the centre of all the attractions Great breakfast and happy to oblige with my request for alternative milk Info on parking before arrival as there was nowhere to stop and drop off belongings and wasn’t sure where nearest parking was

The location of this hotal is fantastic. Difficult to better it. Right on the front and easy walking distance to the Tower and Winter Gardens. However it's a bit tired and seems to be a building site on the ground floor, meaning you have to enter via what feels like a tradesman's entrance, to be greeted with faded carpets and lifts out of service. You have to get upstairs to find reception. Staff pleasant and as helpful as they can be given the constraints they're working under. In the end a practical stay that wasn't unpleasant as such but I didn't feel the urge to go back. Hopefully renovations will be completed soon and it'll be a different experience

Hotel location is superb. Bed comfortable and room clean. Staff helpful - but limited in what they can do. Overall the hotel needs money invested to improve. Lift out of order. Room stank of cigarette smoke. Window filthy. Steam vent in bathroom partially blocked with paper - clearly put in by previous clients for some reason. Also no soap provided.

Very dirty not clean at all.. staff not bothered at all. Toilet used, bin not emptied. Pubic hairs everywhere. Avoid.

My mrs has been absolutely savaged by bed bugs i mean really bad its not on ill be putting a full complaint in when i get the time

Great location and great staff , but our room had bed bugs , so my wife won’t stay again , which is really disappointing as this should be a great hotel.

The staff were helpful however we had booked 4 rooms had to move one as room smelt dreadfully damp. Our room was quiet bedding clean and towels clean. No shower gel in shower and asked for this didn’t arrive. The shower was dreadful black and mouldy needed a good clean. No lighting in the corridor which made it hard to find room

Our stay should have ended on Friday 18th October. We have had to check out this morning for our safety. The hotel is dirty,with stains all along the corridor in level 1,the room wasn’t much better but the bed sheets were clean so after much deliberation between our family on Sunday when we checked in,we decided to stay. Dirty skirting boards that didn’t look like they’d ever been wiped clean, mould in the shower,shower head was filthy. The whole room,actually the whole hotel was in desperate need of a proper, deep clean.The fire alarm went off twice on Wednesday evening, which I know is nobody’s fault but the procedure which followed was a joke. I went to reception to find out what was going on where & we needed to go,and the man on reception was just stood there. He told me he’d rung the fire brigade. If he’d rung the fire brigade because he couldn’t be sure if there was a fire or not, why wasn’t the hotel evacuated until the fire brigade could tell us there was no fire and the building was safe? The security in the building leaves lots to be desired. The fire door at the end of the first floor last night was wedged open, not safe!! The door to get into the first floor accommodation does not have a working key entrance which is another safety concern. Anybody could walk in the hotel at any time and gain access to the corridors. An absolutely appalling stay in a disgusting hotel that clearly didn’t care for the safety of it’s guests

The stay overall was okay. The grime and the dirt in the tile grout in the bathroom was horrendous. The toilet was really low down, it felt like you were on the floor.

Was glad we didn’t have to spend a lot of time in the room as it was filthy.

The window was falling out off bracket ( but did fix after reporting) very dirty windows Toothpaste around tap . Not been hoovered . Black hairs on mattress. Old water left in kettle

Unfortunately, our first room smelled like someone has smoked 40 a day in there for at least a year. Second room was much better however the bathroom was filthy, the water in the shower wouldnt drain and stains up the walls and on the doors. The corridor carpets needed a good clean too. I dont mind cheaper hotels, but there is no excuse for dirty rooms/corridors. However, staff were really good, helpful and friendly

rooms very dingy and not up to great standard. towels were dirty (staff apologised and changed straight away) shower curtain dirty. not very clean bathroom. bed was rock hard but sheets were clean. phone was broken off stand & not working. windows were not fitted well so noise come right through, the 2nd windows (slide door) did not close properly so heard every noice and music blaring all night as was in very nightlife area. only thing that i would say was really good standard was the staff were really nice & helpful

For the price, it was perfectly fine. Had a sea view which was really nice! Bed was really comfy and location spot on.

The room was basic and smaller than I thought. It was a very warm day and night and the room had no air conditioning which made it a real struggle to sleep. I did bring this up with the receptionist but was advised none of the rooms had working air con. Other than these things, it is situated very close to the beach and amenities

Convenient site, close to the Tower and across from North Pier. It was noisy at night as across from a nightclub. Room was adequate for a one night stay although bed was like a brick. I had booked a sea view and had hoped for a view of the prom but it was limited view at the side.

No heating. Hair dryer didn’t work. 1 plug socket in room for family of 3. Very noisy. Run down compared to the photos on website.

Very convenient location, and easy to check in and out. Sadly the room was very cold, there were two fan heaters left for us but only 2 plug sockets - so once they were plugged in we had no other access to an electricity source. One window wouldn’t close fully so you could hear everything from the street.

The room was very big and had an ocean view. The windows were stuck closed and so we could not have any ocean breeze. The windows were so old and condensed that we could not really see out of them. The mattress had a pee stain and smelled of it. We noticed this the last morning, as a sheet had come off.

Hotel clean. Staff friendly. Near public transport and although breakfast is expensive for what it is there are many places locally that do both continental and our full- monte at reasonable prices.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my son. On arrival we took the stairs and they weren’t in great condition, so our initial impression wasn’t good. We checked in early no problem however the first room we were allocated didn’t have a sea view so I requested to be moved, the lovely lady on reception changed the room for us and it was perfect, she was kind and helpful, all of the staff I spoke with were friendly and accommodating, Apart from the stairs which is out of the staffs control we had a good experience at this hotel and will stay again

This was my third stay at Forshaws Hotel. Unfortunately I won’t be staying again. There was an incident on my first night & I contacted reception, as I was extremely frightened. I expressed my worries & asked to be transferred to another room, especially as I was a solo traveler. The receptionist stated a room transfer wasn’t available, & I never heard anything else. Wanted to leave after two days but didn’t want to lose out on my money. I checked out a day early & wasnt asked why. I bought some cleaning supplies as most surfaces were either dusty or dirty. I couldn’t watch tv due to the aerial being poor.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Let us check in early as our room was ready on arrival which was great . It’s a good location. Could of been cleaner as in windows and and parts not been dusted. I suppose this reflex’s on the price though. Bathroom was clean and sheets were fresh. Tv worked well. Beds were very comfy. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay at this hotel again

For £64 in Blackpool we weren’t sure what to expect! But great little spot on north pier with a full sea view beach view! Above Turtle Bay but surprisingly quiet! Bed clean and fresh thank goodness! Bathroom could have just done with a deep clean but for £64 we were happy for the evening! Staff on reception lovely and helpful Thanks all

Affordable stay with lovely staff

This hotel is in the perfect location for bars, pubs etc. Across the road from North pier. Walkable to the shops and Winter Gardens etc. Walkable to nice restaurants. Discount at the talbot road car park is great. Rooms are basic but fine. All in all a good spot for a few nights, for a good night out in Blackpool. If you want bells, whistles and niceties, this is not the hotel to book.

Location was perfect

Good location and room was fine and staff friendly but if you are in the left side past reception the nightclub opposite is open til 4.30am. Fine if you get in late but no chance for an early night!

Hotel was clean, a little weathered in places, a bottle of water would have been nice on arrival, was good to have a double bed instead of two single zipped beds, made it very comfy, good location opposite north pier, easy access to get around everywhere

The beds are fabulous very cozy. Our room over looked road, beach to the side. There was a notice in the room informing us that it was noisy area we may experience some noise. We slept soundly on both nights the room and the hotel was quiet

The hotel was central. Staff were friendly. Ticked a lot of boxes for a short stay next to sea front and bars.

This is an old hotel and although the staff were helpful and professional, the room was quite small, the secondary glazing was ineffective and ill fitting that meant the strong wind made the windows rattle and noisy that allowed cold air to enter the room easily. The fitted panel radiator did not work and the although the small convector heater did warm the room it fell over several times as one of the feet was broken. One of the soap dispensers in the bathroom was empty and it took ages for hot water to appear from the tap and the shower. One of the 2 electrical sockets was unusable and the other got really warm when the heater was plugged into it. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were really hard and not comfortable to sleep on. The hotel's location is good being close to the north pier and Tower Ballroom and tram stop. We used the pub/ restaurant attached to the Premier Inn close by for a full breakfast and an evening meal where a full breakfast was available for a similar price to that charged here for just a continental breakfast.

Paid for breakfast £10 each , not a lot of choice also it's 7-9am , dead on 9am everything is cleared away , i personally think this is too early not sure why it can't be 10.30 close. also should have paper cups at the side of machine to get a drink whenever. couldn't fault the room or the location.

The location was perfect. Room was lovely, although could do with freshening up . Was disappointed as only continental breakfast, had we have know that wouldn’t have booked breakfast and do like a full English while away. Staff were friendly. The heating system wasn’t working so the hotel was cold, breakfast room was freezing, although we did have a small heater in our room . Overall stay was ok

Lovely helpful and friendly staff.. cleanliness was awful there was black mould all through the bathroom. The view through my window was the back alley of the property with all the air con pipes etc. The noise was awful. I was also given a shower bathroom that didnt have a bath in so was a struggle to bathe my 1 year old in a dirty shower.. needs must however. Breakfast was continental.. which consisted of ham slices, cold boiled eggs, toast, croissant, pan au chocolat, blueberry muffin and fruit... apple juice, orange juice, water and coffee. There was also butter, cheese spread and jam. Yoghurts.

Terrible view of a chimney pot, pigeons and pigeon muck. Paid £14 for breakfast which was grim ( continental) but coffee was like washing up water and the boiled eggs were grey.

Looks nothing like it’s advertised. Front doors grubby, windows grubby in room and canteen, no full English breakfast, communal area on floor three sticky and mould in the bathroom, only 2 plug sockets and that was loose and far from bedroom. very disappointed. I must say Staff were very friendly

Room was no where near how the photos look very old and run down, breakfast is only very basic, no cooked food. Place needs to be closed and complete refit.
