Tru By Hilton Indianapolis Downtown, IN

This is a new property, but one of the 2 small elevators was inoperable, our room furnace did not work properly (it continuously clicked on and off) and was forced to shut it off, so that we could sleep. And, when arriving back for the evening, the parking garage was completely full and we had to park on the street a couple of blocks away. This is the first time I have given a less than good review.

TRU by Hilton was great. Treyvon at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The Hilton idea of guests being able to fill their own beer or wine (at a reasonable cost) is so great. No one traveling with a family or alone wants a hotel bar situation. I applaud Hilton for taking the lead on this, especially as a woman who sometimes travels for work. It's nice to know I can take a glass of wine to my room to watch TV. This Indy hotel is in a great location and the staff is awesome.

Easy check in process, the unloading area” is a bit tricky and pulling into garage and scanning your key was not an easy task (and we were in a little car) but other than that the stay was great.

It's beautiful,, parking not good, take you chances parking on the street. Or Pay $30 a day in your parking garage, on top of $130.00 a nite for the room, give them a 1st night free then $15.00 daily.

Fabulous hotel friendly and professional staff, but $30 a day for parking is outrageous!

We were on the 5th floor and you had to have a room key to get to our floor so you know that only guests could get to your level. Extra security is always nice to have these days.

The property was nice. For the life of me I cannot figure out why a hotel wouldn’t have a pool. But ok. I got over that. We went to one of our friends’ hotel and used their pool. Coincidentally, another Hilton. But, the area around it wasn’t very good. There were what seemed to be abandoned buildings to the left. And it was very difficult to navigate the area. It would have been nice to have known what was around that was kid friendly. I asked the staff and they sent me to the Slippery Noodle. I knew that it wasn’t kid friendly— but honestly, by the time I had asked, I had already gotten lost in Indy and we were all starving. I should have just ordered in— which I asked them about that as well… they were unhelpful. But that isn’t the hotel’s fault. They were just young girls. Oh— the slippery noodle is a bar. And they wouldn’t serve my kids. It we ended up getting stuck in a torrential rain storm because you suggested we just walk! We ate at white castle for the first time which is right next to the hotel. The food sucked. But the employees were great at the White Castle. I will say, that breakfast is normally later in Saturday mornings but the staff completely made breakfast earlier to accommodate for the state swimming finals and the state robotics finals. And the breakfast was great. In the end— it was the only meal we really ate the whole time— because of the Friday night dinner fiasco and then Saturday we went to our friends hotel to swim and they had food sent in.

No complaints. Only issues were the fitness center temp was high, and there were no disinfectant wipes.

Super close to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, about a 10-15 minute walk! The breakfast was super yummy- loved the little omelettes and sausage patties. Overnight parking costs $50.

The hotel was great, Great breakfast options, the gym was great, only issue we had was water pressure in the shower.

We had a great stay. Staff was all friendly and welcoming, location was very convenient, room was super clean. I was worried the beds would be uncomfortable because of other reviews but we found the bed to be comfy. They are on the Harder side so if you’re used to soft mattresses then you would probably think it’s uncomfortable and we didn’t hear much noise during the night which was awesome. The only thing was we were trying to take a nap because we were up late and we had the “do not disturb” sigh on the door but housekeeping still knocked on our door at around 1 pm and said they thought we checked out. We had the room for another night so not sure why they didn’t have a list of who is staying and who’s checking out.

Staff were great however, the bathroom wasn’t which gave me the feeling that the entire room wasn’t either. Details aren’t needed but at least they came to “clean” it. Anyway, Happy Holidays!

The location was nice and first impression was great of the lobby with friendly staff. We went to our room but one thing after another went wrong… we were out of tissues and toilet paper. Then we discovered the fridge was filthy and had old fast food from previous guest. Then we found a cockroach in the bathroom. The staff was very concerned and switch our rooms to them investigate the room we were in. Had to check all our belongings out of fear of having a bug in our luggage. The new room was in better condition and on another floor. The staff did their best and the new room was better so we chose to stay there. Was happy with the staff and breakfast plus the rooms were very nice. We were just put into a room that was not properly cleaned. Was a very confusing experience as it was inconvenient to change rooms from the filth but the staff was great and otherwise very nice hotel.

Location was decent, about a 10 minute walk to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and a bunch of restaurants downtown. Felt safe walking home after the game. Hotel was nice, love the ability to use a mobile key and just use my phone for all of that. Our room could have used some extra cleaning. The floors in both the room and bathroom weren’t very clean and definitely missed the details while cleaning. Hopefully that is something the hotel staff improves on. We were only in for a quick stay and only in the room to sleep so overall it was good. Parking was very easy.

Our stay was very enjoyable. Really liked that it was hard flooring and no carpet in our room. The room was very clean. Good selection on breakfast too.

There was stains everywhere and the smell of cigarettes everywhere.

No complaints at all about the Tru By Hilton Indianapolis Downtown. Location is very good in relation to the stadium and many restaurants and bars. Room (and entire hotel) was clean and well-kept. Service was friendly.

Stayed at Tru before the Indy Mini Marathon. It was a great location with an easy walk to the start line. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was good enough and the snacks/drinks/toiletries were a great addition. Our AC didn't seem to be working very well (took several hours to begin to cool down at all) and when I called the front desk, I was put on hold and eventually gave up.

Parking garage full. Had to park somewhere else. Air conditioner stuck on full blast. Took 5 hours to fix it. 59° in the room.

Pros: - Great location for Lucas Oil Stadium events - Newer hotel, clean - Helpful staff Cons: - Vinyl floors make the room above you very loud when someone is walking around - Beds are uncomfortable - Parking is a disaster on event days. The garage is not owned by the hotel, so they will let cars in until all spots are full, even if you paid for parking with your stay. If you stay at this hotel so that you are close to your Lucas Oil Stadium event, make sure you are in a parking spot 5+ hours ahead of the start of your event so you have a spot.

Stayed here during Bands of America Grand Nationals. Location is VERY convenient to get to Lucas Oil Field, very short walk. Room was small but very comfy, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! The staff was super friendly and the entire hotel seemed very clean. Breakfast is great too. It got a little chaotic at breakfast when an entire marching band was down there, so if you're there for an event, get your breakfast early. Complimentary coffee all day was really good. Nice variety of snacks and drinks to purchase. We were very happy with our stay here. Highly recommend!

Tight quarters. No coffee in the room. No closet or drawers to put clothes. Nice large walk-in shower. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Parking is expensive and a very small, tight unloading zone.

The showers had low pressure and they were not very warm. Bed was very comfortable but I would suggest 6 pillows on a king size bed, 4 is not enough.

I was here for 2 nights for a Fever game. Close enough to walk to the arena but only street parking is free. Hotel charged $30./night( in/out privileges). Hotel seems newer and styled like a European hotel. Rooms are bigger but no enclosed closet in the room or shelf in the bathroom. My stay was more “ efficient “ than “comfortable “. For one overnight I may return but not for longer.

Hotel was nice, clean, bright and modern. Rooms were on the small side with little to no storage. Had to use the bench under the tv for my suitcase. No microwave or coffeemaker in the room, which seemed odd. The “closet” was a small bar attached to the wall with a few hangers. Parking was awful! Too difficult to turn into the tiny drive to park when we checked in, so we had to pull down the street to wait. Then had to go around the block to get back into the parking garage, which was right in itself. $30 to park in the garage seems outrageous in addition to the room charge. The lobby was nice, with modern furniture and TVs, but no pool was a definite bummer.

The Tru seems brand new and is well located for local sports and other activities. We stayed one night and were able to walk to our venue. The rooms are kitschy-spartan, with hooks on the wall instead of a closet and dresser (which was fine with us). The streaming TV service has lots of buffering, even when watching a local channel that’s located nearby. Breakfast was a little better than similar free hotel breakfasts. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. I would stay again.

Everything was good with exception of the smart TV… I was really just nothing more than a Roku type of platform. Either live basic cable or pay options. And I was unable to cast to the TV and no one knew how to make the TV actually work.

I was assigned the wrong room number and ended up trying to get into another persons room around my midnight arrival. I was just told "sorry" for the mix up by the unprofessional front desk. I asked to speak to a manager as this incident was a safety matter and never heard back. Very disappointing and made me feel unsafe.

The staff was wonderful and very helpful with our questions and gave very good recommendations. I was disappointed in how the amenities on hotels.com did not match the actual hotel. I reserved a room with a king bed, but got two queens. Also, hotels.com said free bottled water, but there was none of that (we did not ask), lastly i do not remember seeing anything about paying to park in their parking garage (found this out when i went to the actual hotels website). I would probably stay here again due to the convenience and proximity to the ball stadium, but will probably find a different place to park.

Staff were friendly and responsive.

The hotel was perfect for walking around, lots of local spots to check out in walkingdistance. Alex, the front desk staff, was fantastic! He went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay

Stayed here for the Billy Joel/Sting concert and proximity to Lucas Oil Stadium. Couldn’t have been more pleased. We arrived super early (right before noon) not expecting to be able to check in yet but we did. Staff was super friendly and welcoming and gave suggestions on where to eat lunch. Lobby amenities made it so we didn’t need to go anywhere pre-concert for drinks and I loved that they had security afterwards making sure anyone who entered had a room key. Would stay here again no questions asked.

Its now 11:42pm and i just called front desk regarding loud people in the hallway and probably next room. She answered me: “Give them time to settle in they just checked-in” I am unsure if I am just sensitive coz I was expecting her to say I am sorry if u and your family are being bothered i will try to tell them there are people in the same hall trying to get their sleep. I wonder if this staff will help out if me and my family will ever need more assistance

I have to say it was one of the best hotels I have stayed....Very clean, up to date, good food, extremely friendly staff. Kudos to the desk staff member, Emily. She was very friendly, informative and accommodating. When I called from the hotel to see if I can check in early, she told me she see what is available but assured me that I am welcome to come work in the lobby until something was available. She remembered me when I arrived, made sure I was comfortable. I was able to check in 3 hrs early. When I asked for a safe place to walk to have lunch she had a great recommendation. Emily needs to be recognized & compensated for being an amazing employee. She does a great job representing Hilton.

the actual hotel and rooms were excellent. HOWEVER... the check in staff gave approximately 20 reserved rooms to walk ins. this was only learned later. initially they told all of us the rooms weren't ready and they would be in 15-30 min. my wife and i waited over 90 min and many of the groups waited over 3 hours. all they would say is that they were sorry. no contrition at all. also they promote onsite parking but it's mostly for staff as there are no way near enough spaces for the majority of guests. infuriating and horrible way to run a hotel

It was not in the best part of town, right around corner from the Greyhound bus station. Lot's of homeless, lot's of sirens. Rooms were clean, very thin walls, could hear everything going on in hall. The elevator was directly connected to the parking garage, Did not feel safe as a woman traveling alone.

Clean hotel, safe (and reasonably priced for downtown) parking, and modern rooms. Close to Lucas Oil and Convention Center. Great lighting and plenty of power outlets. Comfortable lobby with drink and snack options.

Place was very clean and comfortable. Although a 12 min walk to Gainbridge Arena, last half on the way back at 11 PM was pretty uncomfortable. Dark and deserted, didnt feel real safe.

We were in town for a Colts football game. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the stadium. There are restaurants in the area. The check-in was easy and the staff was nice. Clean room and the free breakfast was nice.

The service desk area was very nice and the service desk attendants were incredibly nice. The breakfast buffet was good except i do not like the pre-mix eggs they served. Most hotels do that...still don't like it. The bed was not comfortable...stiff. Other than that...great location. Great service. Great amenities.

You are only minutes away from everything. The zoo, sports and great restaurants. Also breakfast was amazing, loved the pancakes.

Parking was great, within walking distance of everything we needed! Staff was awesome, breakfast was not the greatest. There was moldy bagels.

We enjoyed the hotel, friendly staff and delicious breakfast from 7 to 9am. Parking is $30 per day. Location is great, just only 9 blocks from Monument Circle (a must see)

Hotel was super convenient to Lucas Oil and Gainbridge. We walked everywhere because shopping and restaurants were only around 10 minutes on foot. The breakfast was good both days we stayed. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The lobby had games and foosball tables for family entertainment. The only thing I would say was not great is the coffee in the lobby was disappointing

Everything was great but the breakfast it was terrible. The sausage was Undercooked the eggs were rubbery it was just awful!
