Has the things you'll need for a simple stay. Has a stove-top and microwave. The pool on the roof is a nice touch. It's getting some wear and tear since I was here when it opened 5 years ago.

This establishment is incredibly deceptive and has left me thoroughly disappointed. I stayed there for 14 days booked through Expedia, and I quickly learned that refunds or cancellations were not an option, which felt extremely unfair given the circumstances. From the moment I arrived, I encountered issues, starting with the hot water situation. Not once during my stay did I experience a hot shower; each day, I was assured by the staff that they were "working on it," but the situation never improved. To make matters worse, I experienced a complete shutdown of the water supply without any prior notice while a water company was filling their tank, leaving me without basic amenities at the most inconvenient times. Additionally, I observed them turning off the electricity during the day, which is quite frustrating when you have yours up the stairs. I eventually switched rooms, and I can confirm that the reviews regarding the musty smell and the presence of mould were spot on. The second room I was given still had lingering odors and signs of neglect. The pool area was nothing short of a stagnant swamp, and I found the deck boards to be splintered and hazardous to walk on, raising significant safety concerns. Once again, the quest for even lukewarm water for a shower proved fruitless; I could only expect frigid, uncomfortable showers throughout my stay. The rooms have no mini fridge, they don’t lend you a bbq grill by the pool and they don’t volunteer any information about where to store cold food or anything else for that matter. No private parking, you need to pay outside or it will be tire locked by the police. Only three Sun beds and wifi keeps going off.

Located on the quieter end of fifth avenue. May not suit those wanting easy access to the party areas. Main criticism would be that the sun deck on the roof was out of use. This meant there was no where to sit in the sun by the pool. As this was the main reason I booked the place, it was a bit disappointing.

Ok hotell, room good but bathroom had a bit more to offer. Pool and roofterrace must be renovated We was charged for dirty linnen, very very bad since an accident easily can happen! 1750 pesos….NOT OK 👎

O hotel não é mais o mesmo das fotos, pois muita coisa está se deteriorando: o chuveiro do quarto já estava bem sujo e entupido, a área do terraço não tem nada, além de mesas e cadeiras, a piscina, apesar de boa, não está bem cuidada. O atendimento da equipe que trabalha no hotel no geral é bem ruim. Um dia pedimos um copo a mais e simplesmente a resposta foi: não tem. Em outro momento, estávamos na piscina bebendo em copos de plástico e latas (que era permitido) e chamaram nossa atenção, mesmo não estando fazendo nada de errado (conforme descrito nas próprias regras do hotel na área de piscina). Nitidamente isso ocorreu por termos solicitado a limpeza da piscina minutos antes, que estava com insetos mortos. O funcionário que fez a limpeza se mostrou bem contrariado e logo em seguida chamaram nossa atenção indevidamente. Em resumo: um hotel com pontos positivos, mas que está claramente sendo mal administrado.

My brother and I stayed for a week and we enjoyed this hotel very much. The service was great, the rooms very clean, daily a maid came to change our towels and make our beds. The kitchenette was an added bonus as we were able to make some meals a few times in-house. We were fortunate to have to pool all to ourselves every time we used it and it was very clean. There is even a view to the sea from the rooftop sitting area. Close to everything : beach - shops - restaurants etc. We will definitely keep this hotel in mind if we return to Playa del Carmen. Thank you.

The property is well located. It’s okay in general but the cleaning has to be improved. The bathroom walls and the floors were really dirty. We booked a room for only one night and it was an inside room with views to the hallway. Dark and no natural air.

The staff were excellent! We had issues (hot water and no safe), in our first room and they went out of their way to fix the issues. When this was not possible they moved us to another room, which was good. We so appreciated their help, friendliness and hospitality!

The room was in poor conditions, dirty and with a kitchen I did not ask for. The cleaners did not clean the room and left the garbage from the previous guests. The staff was useless and unable to address or improve the stay. The bedsheets were disgusting and the bathroom had dirt all over the place. The room had a window that faced a wall and felt claustrophobic.

If I could give this hotel negative stars, I would. This was the most disgusting, dishonest, and disturbing hotel experience of my life. False Advertising & Scam: The photos are a complete lie. The "cozy" room with a balcony was actually a tiny, airless space with a shattered, taped-up window facing a grimy elevator shaft. No fresh air, no natural light—just a suffocating nightmare. Filthy & Unsanitary: The sheets had stains and hair, proving they hadn’t been washed. The pillows reeked of sweat and mildew. The bathroom was moldy, the shower barely functioned, and the towels smelled like garbage. No Sleep Possible: The rooms are NOT soundproof. We heard everything from the lobby—people shouting, luggage rolling, phones ringing. Sleeping was impossible. Scam Fees & Lies: We were hit with hidden charges, including a "street cleanup" fee and an extra guest fee, even though the booking clearly stated two people. The advertised restaurant doesn’t exist. No Refund Despite Promises: Expedia promised a full refund due to the fraudulent listing, but after I left, they changed their stance. Now I’m out $900 for a hotel I didn’t even stay at. Avoid this scam at all costs.

We were extremely disappointed by the state of the Marvic hotel vs what was presented to us in the photos on hotels.com. As can be seen in the photos: Cracked, rotting wood with nails sticking up on the pool deck. Many, many tiles missing and sharp all along the edge of the pool and on the floor of the pool. Only three chairs next to the pool. When we up to sit at the pool - two were taken and we can't sit on the wood deck because of the poor state of the wood. Mold in the shower at the edges and at the corner of the vanity. Towels were not only old and ragged, they were stained in several places. Cumulatively, this was too much for us. After having been checked in for only 2 hours we tried to get our money back and were told by both hotels.com and the Marvic that it was not possible since we didn't cancel before we checked in. How could we possibly know the state of cleanliness and upkeep prior to checking in? We took our lumps and checked into another hotel immediately. Very, very disappointed in both hotels.com and the Marvic.

Entspricht keiner 4 Sterne Kategorie, eher 3. Sterne. Handtücher und Bettwäsche hatten überwiegend schmutzige Flecke. Es wurde jeden Tag gereinigt und die Handtücher und auch ggf. Bettwäsche gewechselt Bett sehr bequem. Zentrale Lage und Personal immer freundlich .

La habitación que nos dieron era muy pequeña, sin ventilación ni luz natural, y estaba en la primera planta, se escuchaba todo lo que pasaba en recepción. El internet funcionaba muy mal, tanto en la habitación como en recepción.

Enjoyed the stay, But the room was much smaller than what I thought we were renting based on the pictures online. Orbitz should do a better job showing all of the rooms available not just the really nice ones.

We had a window facing a wall :( so we did not get any daylight at all. Water pressure in the toilet was really bad, multiple times it did not flush at all. staff was very helpful and friendly which was the only thing we really liked. Pool was kind of cold. There are water coolers on each floor which is also helpful since you can’t drink tap water here.

Definitely not sound proof, or even close. Not that I really believed that statement anyway. Great Staff, very friendly and helpful.

The location is pretty good. Just off "Fifth Avenue" ... the small rooftop pool is nice. The room was spacious although my window looked into an empty space where a balcony would normally have been. The bed was incredibly comfortable (I like a hard mattress). My main complaint -- and this is a deal-breaker for me -- was the internet, which didn't really work. The hotel has 10-15 different networks, all with the same password, and you are expected to go from one to another until you find one that works. If you do connect to a network (sometimes you can't) it drops after a few minutes. I was trying to mix a holiday with some work and this was nearly impossible. Incredibly frustrating. If you don't need or want internet, then this hotel is fine for you. There is no food available on the premises but there are tons of restaurants and convenience stores nearby.

Rooms are tiny but very cozy and well designed

The only good thing about this hotel is the staff that are helpful and friendly. When we arrived our bedsheets were dirty, they did exchange them. We stayed in a room with a balcony but you could hear all the street noise and live bands well into the night. The balcony lights do not turn off, all that light comes into the room so it’s like daylight all the time. We tried to block the bright lights from the balcony but it still entered the room from the corners. Although it’s low cost hotel close to 5th avenue, I would not recommend staying here, it was not restful or peaceful stay.

Lite hotell som viste seg å ligge perfekt til i forhold 5tn og samtidig skjermet fra musikken som spilles i 5th. Vi følte oss veldig trygg på hotellet. Rommet flott og er helt slik man ser det på bildene på Hotels.com Vi savnet kjøleskap, som var et savn. Litt lytt og spesielt ut i korridorene. Bassenget på toppen testet vi ikke men så flott ut. Anbefales opphold her. Bestiller du drosje gjennom hotellet så må du påse at sjåføren dukker opp på flyplassen. Det skjedde med oss da flyet var forsinket og vi fikk et gebyr for ikke oppmøte.

las instalaciones muy bien, solo que si tuve una mala experiencia; mi niño por accidente tiro café en una de las camas, se mancharon las sabanas y el cubre colchón, al hacer check out, la camarera saco las sabanas y en recepción las exhibieron para cobrarnos por el daño causado diciendo que al lavarlas no se les iba a quitar la mancha, lo cual, consideramos que es un abuso, ya que una macha de cafe si se quita. Nos cobraron $985.00 por el daño causado. En ningún hotel nos habían cobrado un deposito de $1000.00 al ingreso ni mucho menos un impuesto de $200.00 adicional. Tuve que pagar todo esto debido a que llevaba prisa para salir y tomar un vuelo. No recomiendo hospedarse en este hotel.

This was a great hotel if you are planning to stay off resort in Mexico. My mother is a snowbird and my sister and I went to visit her for a week so we decided to stay somewhere near her and close to 5th avenue. This place smelt amazing, the pool was very clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our toilet had broke mid week and so they moved us to a bigger and nicer room for free. So accommodating! Would 11/10 stay here again.

tienen muchas reglas,quieren cobrar por todo, ami me cobraron 60 pesos por que ensucie una tualla con mango. a otra persona le cobraron por que un nino tiro soda en el piso. la escusa que usan es de que la persona que limpia le toma mas tiempo limpiar.las camas parese ser que son de piedra.

Fue muy mala la recepción, piden un deposito que no esta mencionado, la persona que me recibio con pesima actitud y no me dieron el ascenso que dice que tengo por ser VIP, el cuarto muy pequeño, nada que ver con la imagen

The location was excellent—right beside Fifth Avenue with plenty of restaurants and a 7/11 around the corner. It was just a short walk to Pelicanos Beach, with other beaches also within reach. We’d definitely stay here again—thank you for the hospitality! Detailed Review: We initially booked a king bed suite with a balcony, but due to a booking error, we were assigned a ground-floor suite with a kitchen and no exterior windows. We requested a change, and the receptionist kindly accommodated us with a room featuring a balcony, though it was not a suite. This was acceptable to us, given the affordable flight-and-hotel package deal we had. The room was clean, somewhat modern, and well-insulated(quiet). The AC worked perfectly, hot water was slow but sufficient, and housekeeping serviced the room 4 out of 5 nights. Beach towels were provided (one per day), but no coffee or tea was included. The rooftop pool was okay, though mostly unused and shaded in the afternoons—we preferred the beach. The 24/7 reception staff were kind and helpful, communicating in basic English. We found that it was helpful to use a translator app at times. Tip: I would stronly recommend to arrange your airport transfer in advance to save money. The hotel booked us a taxi for 1,000 pesos, much cheaper than the 2,400 pesos quoted at the airport.

Todo era casi normal solo que la recepción aveces no estaba y si necesitabas la llave de tu cuarto tenías que esperarla porque no te daban más, además que si pierdes la tarjeta te la cobran (weeeei la neta este hotel quiere sacar dinero de todo) porque en ningún hotel masomenos hacen eso pero bueno, este ya lo catalogué comió hotel de mala muerte y es por lo siguiente: cuando me acercaba a hacer el check out se acerca a mi el recepcionista y me dice “buenas tardes señor, ¿check out?” Y yo le contesté “claro” y me dice “hay un pequeño problema señor, lo qué pasa es qué hay una sábana manchada (era sangre porque me estuve jugando una costra y no me di cuenta que me empezó a sangrar) y por el hecho de que se va a mandar a lavar se le tienen que cobrar $700 pesos” y le dije “sabes qué? No voy a pagar nada y me dice “pues usted firmó el contrato de conformidad al entrar al hotel” pues si pero no sé estipuló ese punto o que hayan dicho alguna alerta para estimular al huésped a leer un nuevo punto por si se rompe. Así que tengan cuidado con este hotel de mala muerte.

This place was not as described. The bed was the hardest I've ever slept on. It was incredibly noisy and not as clean or well maintained as I would have expected. The restaurant and outdoor seating was closed and unusable... The staff were mostly very nice and helpful and it's only 50 feet from 5th Avenue which was very convenient but also very noisy.

El hotel tiene buena ubicacion pero no tiene restaurante y hay que salir a comer. Ademas no tiene terminal de tarjetas se tiene que pagar en efectivo y eso a veces es un problema. La habitacion bien, el internet bien y la television bien. La playa cerca y la 5ta av esta a media cuadra.

The hotel is quite nice however the front of the building is noisy at night and the back is much quieter after midnight when the live music stops. The staff are helpful. However, there is. O English television stations available and that is a must have for many.

The hotel was located within easy walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. The beach was about 5 minutes away, so very walkable. The suite itself had no view, the window faced into the building next door about 5 feet away, but it also blocked any noise from the street. Would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The rooftop terrace was nice even though they did not offer food or drinks. We had a balcony/king bed room which was very spacious. Staff was very helpful. The only issue is that you can here the live music from the bars until very late. Overall it was a good experience.

Único problema foi no último dia : chuveiro com pouquíssima água . Mas em geral recomendo o hotel . Atente - se que não há café da manhã e nem frigobar . Quarto bastante confortável e boa localização . Voltaria outra vez . Recepcionista Estrella muito simpática e prestativa . Ótima funcionária .

A very good stay for a quick solo trip to Playa! The hotel was well-situated for my purpose of going there. I would highly recommend that a bar fridge be placed in each room! It would hold water, juice and a few drinks. No kitchen facilities are alright for a quick trip but water is a must. I would use this place again if there was a small fridge in the room.

So close to the Main Avenue and very clean place. I didn’t like that the glass in the bathroom can see you from the street. And also I did not like that they do not have coffee in the rooms and if you want you must go downstairs to reception, limiting ones a day
