The room was a cool concept and had everything we needed. It was so dark and quiet which meant we got a great night’s sleep however the charge for them to hold your baggage was steep and check-out on Sunday morning was chaos. There aren’t enough lifts to cope with the amount of people checking out and it took a long time for staff to show us where the stairs were as an alternative.

knowing no windows since the rooms are at the underground, no funiture except a bed, subway noise is unavoidable, the room charge was appropriate at this location. GBP15 for a suitcase storage was expensive.

Loved the windowless room! Amazing sleep! Could use an additional lift. Was told I’d have a fridge in the room but did not. Cleaning service was inconsistent.

The staff on check in were awful quite rude and did listen to what I was saying. I arrived at 2:15 and check in was 3:00 the room was ready but they wanted to charge me £40 for early check in so is said can I just leave my bag here u til I can check in they said Yes that will be £15 per bag to leave with us. This was a joke he argued with me for 10 mins telling me it was in the terms so I opened up the terms and guess what NOTHING!! Just an absolute Con!! but still refused to help me. I would not bother staying here much better options across London and much nicer staff!!

relatively cheap for London with a central location and plenty of restaurant choices near by. Reception staff are welcoming and efficient, and I got a free upgrade. You hear the underground trains quite clearly - hence you get free earplugs. Bare basics in your room so no kettle or iron although there is an ironing room on site. I couldn't get a phone signal in my room so had to work at reception which was the only place that had a decent signal. That was rather inconvenient, but being underground (4 floors below ground) it didn't come as a surprise. Its fine for a night but I wouldn't stay again as lack of phone signal was an issue for me

Excellent location & comfy bed but the extreme minimalism of the rooms (no shelf, chair…..just 3 hooks) and the ‘underground’ aspect was not for us. Appreciated the free tea and coffee in Reception but missed a kettle in the room.

The reviews that state the hotel is quiet only refer to when the tube is not running, I think between 3am and 6am. Outside of those hours you hear ever tube which is like a large thunder breaking over head. And at 6am it is like an alarm clock. No breaksfast. I think there may have been coffee, but water jugs was empty. The rooms are beyond minialist and sparce to say the least. They are so greedy and did so much cost saving that in room 5020 there are two coat hooks, and they are rubbish. It means the rest of you clothes are on the floor with your bag and shoes. You couldn't hang a suit or a dress up. Bath was good except there was no glass to drink from in the night. I shall never visit this place again

Poor phone service as it’s 4 floors underground. Very noisy too due to the tube and also some very random pipe work. They charge for everything. Storing bags is £15, an iron is £10 and early check in is £60. Location is excellent tho so it’s a compromise

Absolutely not recommended! We spent 3 nights at the Zedwell Underground and unfortunately cannot report anything positive. The air in the corridors is very bad and it smells of drainage. Unfortunately we got dirty towels two days in a row and the floor in our room was very dirty. The absolute worst thing was that the room service left the door to our room completely open all day. We noticed it when we came back to the hotel in the evening. We had a direct view of our luggage from the corridor and anyone could have gone into the room. After contacting reception we were assured that the matter would be resolved by the next day, but we never heard back. We were also given an email address for the management, the email came back with ‘undeliverable’.

Rooms are located in underground 4th and 5th floor. I aware of this before I made the booking, it was uncomfortable and doesn't feel ventilated living in there, feels like living in a bunker. Room was smelly when I firstly entered, no sound proof, you can clear hear next doors or even people cleaning floor upstairs. Everything comes with extra charge, according to reception staff, it is a very budgeted hotel in central London which costed £150 per night, what else you can expecting. £10 for using hair dryer for one night, also leaving luggage at reception after check out is £10 PER luggage. The only good thing is location is good, close to underground station, but will never stay again.

Unbelievably dirty, not cleaned at all, next day cleaning just threw a towel on the bed - pictures with dirt stains and hair etc .. astronomically small room, no perks in room incl hair dryers etc … extra fee for leaving luggage - at most 1 star establishment- 3 star is fraud and a rip off like everywhere in these days

Entering the lobby was a smell of sewage, also in the bedroom. Very expensive for what it was. Paper thin walls. Could hear anything going on in surrounding rooms. Wouldn't recommend.

ALERT: BEDBUGS The hotel is well located, a few steps from Tottenham Court Road, which connect three metro lines in the middle of London. It's an underground hotel with (evidently) no window and very, very basic rooms that do the job. However, the amount of noise is insane. It seems the structure is not well isolated and you can hear what I guess is the water coming down from the pipes behind the walls. On top of that, the last day of our 4-day stay we saw bedbugs in one of our beds. My wife had several bites during the trip but didn’t realize why until we saw them—at least three, probably more. We informed the management and later at home we wrote to the hotel asking for a reimburse but didn't even receive any reply from them. We had to throw away a lot of our clothes and suitcases, and once we got home, we had to pay for a pest control inspection just in case. What seemed like a regular (because it was not necessarily cheap) stay turned into an expensive and stressful one. We contacted the hotel but never got a reply. We really regret staying here and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Rooms were clean and staff were friendly but common areas around the rooms had a horrible smell. Was a novelty staying in these below ground rooms but wouldn’t do it again was a maze to try and find your room and room numbers unnecessarily complicated. Would pay the little bit extra for premier Inn.

The hallways to the rooms had a rather unpleasant smell, but the rooms themselves were nice. Spacious and comfortable, got the job done. You might hear a few rumbles from the underground railway passing by, or creaks and squeaks from what may be the plumbing. Since it’s underground, you will have no sense of time. But if your goal is to simply have somewhere to freshen up and sleep right in the middle of the West End, this is the place to be!

The room I got looked nothing like the pictures. The lighting in the room was poor. The shower had black mould abs the floor needed a good clean. Plus there was a funny smell in the corridors and the room. I had the AC on the coldest it would go and still found it too warm at night. The room is very basic and so small I could not leave my suitcase open or I would t be able to get out. So I had to pack it up every day and stand it. Then when you check out, they charge you €15 to leave your bag. I would suggest a hotel is better.

It was not known at the time off booking but the rooms dont get made up on a daily basis and the bins dont get emptied. New towels just get thrown in. As a matter of course I will usually leave my room tidy on a daily basis. Pillows at the head of the bed. Duvet shook out etc. But when I came back later that evening it was a shock that housekeeping had not re-done the bed or cleaned the room. So I set about making it myself. I pulled the bedding off the bed to uncover a wave of yellow stains all over the mattress beneath. Im not one for photos so I dont have any but it looked like something Jackson Pollock would be proud of! Secondly. The sheet that was used was barely able to cover the mattress beneath. It could just about reach over the sides but it couldnt cover the head and foot of the bed which meant that wherever you turn it just pealed back. Really disappointing to see that the bins dont get emptied daily as a basic common curtesy. The common areas themselves are quite missleading about the expectations on the rooms as these are kept very well. Issues only become apparent once you open your door. Wont be staying again for fear of catching something. Only saving grace is that perhaps the team on reception were great. Really helpful and very friendly.

Checked in myself, downloaded my key card, room was clean. You can hear and feel the vibrations from the underground trains throughout the night because of this I wouldn’t stay again otherwise if you’re like my partner who can sleep through anything this is the place for you :)

It’s actually quite a basic hotel and there are no comforts in the room. Nowhere to sit, no desk, no tv, no facilities to make tea/coffee. WiFi is good.

Good location but constant rumbling from nearby underground lines. This is a very basic hotel, with no more than a bed in the room. I expected at least a chair, a bin, or a table - but there was nothing except a bed and some earplugs (thankfully). At nearly £200 per night this is very poor value for money. It was fine for a last-minute 1 night booking, but I wouldn't want to stay much longer. Being four storeys underground didn't feel safe and the rumbling/vibrating from the underground was incredibly annoying. Comfortable bed and good shower, though.

I’ve stayed at several Zedwell locations and I definitely prefer them to this one. You can really, really hear the tubes. And it’s not just every now and then, it’s very regular. If you’re a light sleeper I wouldn’t recommend this one - try the Piccadilly Circus one instead which is much quieter in the rooms and you don’t hear anything from the tubes as you’re not as deep underground as this is. The rooms are on -4 and -5 at this one.

The hallways to the rooms had a rather unpleasant smell, but the rooms themselves were nice. Spacious and comfortable, got the job done. You might hear a few rumbles from the underground railway passing by, or creaks and squeaks from what may be the plumbing. Since it’s underground, you will have no sense of time. But if your goal is to simply have somewhere to freshen up and sleep right in the middle of the West End, this is the place to be!

We were due to stay at the Tottenham Court Rd hotel, we arrived 30 minutes early and was told it would be £40 to check in early so we said we would go back at 10.30pm after our theatre show, when we got back at 10.30pm we were told they had moved us to the Zedwell hotel in Piccadilly… no email or phone cal to tel is this! when we asked where that was they just said ‘it’s 10 minutes down the road’ we finally found the hotel and on first appearance it looked nice and clean however in our room we found used contact lenses left on the shelf by the bed!! The hotel is above the coyote ugly nightclub… we felt like we were in the bar! The music was so loud it even vibrated in the pillows, the music finally ended about 4am so very little sleep was had!!! If you want a night of sleep we don’t recommend this hotel!!! And Zedwell hotels advertise themselves as having soundproof rooms!

I booked a single but it assigned me an accessible single in which the shower comes to about my shoulders max but has a removable head. This would be fine if I didn't have a disability which means I cant hold my arm above my head. I asked the receptionist if it was possible to move rooms and he kept trying to explain to me how to move the shower head and wouldn't listen that even it's maximum height wasn't high enough. A manager then came over and asked me to show him what I meant. On the way out the reception other man said something in another languagei didnt understand. Upon googling the word i found he had called me a fat b****. I took the other manager to my room I showed him my issue and was then told if I wanted to switch rooms i would have to pay extra - over half what it cost for 1 night. I just wanted to be able to wash my hair in the room I've booked but the accessible room was not appropriate for my access needs. Left in tears over how heartless a team can be but had to stay the night as i had no other option. The only saving grace was the day manager the next morning who listened to my complaints and seemed equally horrified.

The staff on check in were awful quite rude and did listen to what I was saying. I arrived at 2:15 and check in was 3:00 the room was ready but they wanted to charge me £40 for early check in so is said can I just leave my bag here u til I can check in they said Yes that will be £15 per bag to leave with us. This was a joke he argued with me for 10 mins telling me it was in the terms so I opened up the terms and guess what NOTHING!! Just an absolute Con!! but still refused to help me. I would not bother staying here much better options across London and much nicer staff!!

This hotel does not accommodate people with disabilities. My husband suffers from claustrophobia, and we were not aware that the rooms don't have windows when we reserved the room through Expedia. We did not stay there, and they refused to refund the rate. There was another gentleman who was complaining that he could not breathe in his room. A very awful experience and they should be more mindful of people with disabilities. Do not recommend a place that it is not mindful of their potential customers. Again these rooms do not have windows.

The hotel looks very new and clean. But the service is very bad. Starting from the entrance, which has very bad signage. Then it took ages to check in (over 20 min), most of the staff has a rude attitude. It is like they are doing a favour to provide bathroom mats or answering your hotel questions. In 4 nights, all guests were disturbed by fire alarms twice. Being one very late at night. Well, accidents happen, but they should at least tell the guests what happened. Long story short, having to leave in a rush from the room, spend over 30 min freezing outside, and not even an apology or communication. In both cases I had the impression it was just a failure in the system. Bed and pillows are not great. Room is much smaller than the pictures on the hotel page.

My recent stay at Zedwell Tottenham Court was extremely upsetting due to the staff’s lack of even the most basic respect for my disabilities. Upon arrival and faced with an extortionate amount to check-in 40 minutes early I had to wait. Seats were available but despite explaining that while standing was more comfortable due to my condition, both options left me in increasing pain. I was then ignored by the front desk for 30 minutes. I struggled with the check-in process and while one member did seem to be genuinely trying to help, others who inserted themselves into the situation were dismissive, argumentative, and generally made the situation worse. One staff member in particular accused me of fabricating my disabilities, argued that I did not deserve any help, and only had myself to blame for the pain I was in and the difficulties I was having. The actions of that staff member triggered a panic attack. The situation worsened the next day when I was further antagonised by the same staff member who again accused me of falsifying my disability and threatened to have me removed from the property by security. In both incidents, nearby management observed from a distance without intervening. The hotel’s staff displayed a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. I would not recommend this hotel, especially to disabled guests.

When I arrived I was told the hotel was full and there no room I could have even though I had a booking confirmation showing I had already paid for the room! - Absolutely appalling, no help offered and no ownership of the problem, I was just told they couldn't help.

The hotel is in a great location right by TCR station and was perfect for a couple of days seeing shows and exploring central London. The rooms were small but clean, and at night the room is pitch dark which made for an excellent nights sleep. You could hear the tubes running a little bit, but it wasn’t enough to keep us up. Would definitely book again!

If looking for a cost effective overnight stay in the centre of London, this is ideal. Easy check in and checkout, comfortable bed and great shower. A small space which was very functional at a good price. Great location being on the corner of Tottenham Crt Road and Oxford Street.

Zedwell Underground Hotel was a really nice property with lots of shopping and dining just steps away. I’ve never stayed in an underground hotel so it was a different experience. The rooms are small but cozy. This didn’t really affect me but just beware there are no televisions in the rooms. There is a charge to borrow the iron/ironing board and also to hold your luggage. It’s within walking distance to the underground and tube lines for easy transportation. The staff were really friendly and were readily available if i needed them. There’s a 24 hour restaurant right next door and lots of bars/clubs within walking distance in Soho! I’d stay here again.

Amazing accomodation, basic but all that was needed. Room was quite hot but we didnt know to scan qr code to work air con...staff were all fabulously welcoming, friendly and helpful..especially the duty manager on the day we arrived. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilitiies were in reception but put away at 10pm!!

Curious underground hotel. Tiny rooms but with everything you need for a night (maybe 2) (as long as you’re just using it for sleeping). A very good price for central London and so close to Tottenham Court Road tube. Lounge area is nice.

I would recommend this hotel if you are only using it as a place to sleep. Amenities aren’t great: no breakfast, no bar, no tv in the rooms, no closet, no storage. Excellent location & comfy bed but the extreme minimalism of the rooms (no shelf, chair…..just 3 hooks) and the ‘underground’ aspect was not for us. Appreciated the free tea and coffee in Reception but missed a kettle in the room.

1st time at Zedwell but it was pretty good. Rooms are basic but modern and very clean. If things like coffe machines are important to you then don’t book, but if you want to go out then it’s perfect from a very central location and moments from the tube, bars and restaurants. Bathroom was very nice!

The reviews that state the hotel is quiet only refer to when the tube is not running, I think between 3am and 6am. Outside of those hours you hear ever tube which is like a large thunder breaking over head. And at 6am it is like an alarm clock. No breaksfast. I think there may have been coffee, but water jugs was empty. The rooms are beyond minialist and sparce to say the least. They are so greedy and did so much cost saving that in room 5020 there are two coat hooks, and they are rubbish. It means the rest of you clothes are on the floor with your bag and shoes. You couldn't hang a suit or a dress up. Bath was good except there was no glass to drink from in the night. I shall never visit this place again

It’s basic but it’s got everything you will need to stay in central london. The rooms are clean and tidy just lacking hanging space or any storage. Bathroom was nice and clean, staff are super helpful and 5* on their customer service. Free tea and coffee in the seated lounge area and so convenient for central London and all that you want to visit and see
