Rodeway Inn Abilene West

It was obviously being remodeled. Our bathroom door was dismounted! Attendant offered to change our room but the alternate was not clean, so we decided to stay in the original room which was clean. Staff was friendly. The parking lot was littered with trash on the sides. May have been due to the remodeling going on. Breakfast buffet was sparse.

I think this place has the potential to be a really nice motel, but at the moment it has issues. Staff was friendly, but check in was slow and I has requested a ground floor due to health issues. I was informed that I couldn't have a ground floor cause the room hadn't been cleaned. I made this reservation a month in advance. The room isn't CLEAN! She did give me a room next to the elevator which worked for us. There were 2 bath towels for 2 people for 2 days, NO washcloths. I don't know why they thought that was enough. I use 1 for my hair, and 1 for my body. I think most women do. So that leaves none for the 2nd person, and you have to reuse those to shower everyday. Only operational doors were the ones in the main lobby. All of the other exit doors were marked DO NOT USE. They could be used if it was an emergency. They had no ice or vending machines of any kind. We came out of our room at one point and there were piles of sheets littering the floor all over atrium area. Trash bags had been pulled out of the cans and left to set on the floor next to the cans. The atrium was had very little furniture or decor. It looked like a prison cell block like you see in the movies. It has potential. But they're not there yet.

It's a strange place: It's a large facility, with the rooms looking out on a central enclosed atrium. There don't seem to be many guests. The lobby and the large enclosed atrium areas are pretty much empty, devoid of furniture. Even the Rodeway sign out front seems temporary, a fabric sign over whatever the hotel name had been previously. There was a guy disassembling his motorcycle right in front of the main entrance, making it look rather unattractive to me. The young man at the desk was helpful and courteous, but he had some trouble getting me checked in (some issue between Expedia and the Rodeway's system prevented him from being able to see my reservation). He had to call for help. The first room they assigned looked fine but smelled bad - I don't know if someone had smoked in there or if it was some sort of disinfection. I went back and asked for a different room. The second one indeed was much better and smells "normal." Both rooms appeared to be clean and well-maintained. We'll see in the morning how the included breakfast is.

The only concerns were not enough light in the parking lot. It was scary to arrive at night. But other than that, friendly and helpful staff, Rooms were nice & convenient. I liked that it is all indoors and felt safe. Only one bed spread seemed stained with bleach.

There was nothing positive about this property. We were not able to shower. Construction was all around us. Parking lot precarious.

Good Wi-Fi for gaming, and there was a microwave. No fridge, no ice however. The one luggage dolly they had was falling apart. Great staff

Booked on Hotels.com The Hotel layout reminded me of a past Comfort Suites and the pictures looked nice. The actual hotel had buckets for water drips in the big area pictured. The breakfast area was VERY dark/unlit and not upkept with coffee and no butter for toast, but cereal was sufficient. The room had graffiti on the inside of door and no refrigerator. The staff was extremely nice. Got the impression the hotel was newly taken over. Much room for improvement here.

Sewer gases coming from toilet. The toilet is sitting sideways on the floor and not well attached. Obviously the wax or rubber seal has failed against the toilet floor flange. The management knew this because the bathroom door was closed when I first came in and the bathroom vent fan was on. The room also seemed more perfumy. If the exhaust fan vents to the outside it would just increase the problem because it would cause a vacuumed in the bathroom. Huge chug holes in parking area. Sidewalk entry area full of bird droppings. Whole facility is very run down. H2S ( hydrogen Sulfide ) is poisonous and is present in sewer gases. It also deadens the nerves so it becomes less noticeable. I could not use the bathroom and will be asking for a refund.

My room had a really bad odor. Linen from previous occupants was left behind. The elevator was out of order. When I let the front desk know in the morning he was dismissive.

There was a wasp in the room a roaches and ants in the mini fridge. The room was dirty they gave us one towel no hand towels no floor mat for the shower.

Felt old, run down, and dirty. There was a dead giant roach outside our door and a small one in the bathroom. Our door had a big gap in it and barely locked, there was no mirror and only 1 towel and a bar of soap. The breakfast they offer is dry cereal and a loaf of bread.

Killed one cockroach in the room as soon as I got there. Didn't see any others that night or the next night since I was booked for 2 nights. Toilet had poop stain under the seat and urine stains on the caulking that seals it to the tile. The ceiling tile at the lavatory sink had a piece of toilet paper covering a hole on the foam ceiling tile. The plug next to the lamp next to the bed did not have a plug cover on it to keep the electrical wires from showing to expose the danger of a child or someone to get electicuted. I took pictures and dont see where this app allows me to display the pictures.

Room smelled horrible. There were roaches all over the place. All my luggage smells like the room now.

Old and dirty, stains on everything

The bed had blood all over it. Pooop on the floor in bathroom amd roaches walkinb around. I stayed a total of about 45 seconds and left.

Good: The beds were comfy and the shower had good water pressure and the hot water stayed hot. Great: The staff was friendly and helpful. Bad: Had to move rooms 3 times, first room the dead bolt did not lock and missing curtains (101), the second one had missing curtains (214), the third one was good until a pen rolled under the bed to reveal a lot of trash under the bed and when I went to shower there was hair on the walls from last guest as well as a lot of dirt and grim in the tub itself (213).

Gross! I have booked with hotel.com before and I have NEVER been disappointed. This time was just terrible. Bed bugs. People complaining about room non stop. I will never stay at place again.

The room was dirty. The bed was uncomfortable and several of the lights were not working. The fan/light in the bath room was hanging by the electrical wires.

Questionable stains on curtains and sheets. No flat sheet, just blanket. Holes in walls and bathroom ceiling. Some weird fabric also hanging from bathroom ceiling. The mini bar was nice (Coors Light left in fridge) The area outside is in much need of a cleaning. Trash everywhere and the pool could use a cut. By the looks of this place the rates should be hourly.

A/C went out in room

Our 1st room the curtain didn’t close. Staff was eager to help gave us a second room clerk with me to check it out. 2nd room and a horrible cigarette smell. So he gave as a 3rd room. Clerk didn’t go and check it out we just changed room had my 2 grandchildren with me they are 4 and it was getting late for them. Curtains closed. Got pjs on and went to watch tv. It didn’t work. Cable wasn’t set up in that room. SMH. I was done we went to bed. The room was good clean. Would of been nicer if had better pillows and more of them. They at least had a small breakfast not just coffee as Econo Lodge only offers coffee. Had to ask front desk for danishes would not have even known if another guest didn’t tell me. Yes I would stay there again. I will bring my own pillows and if grandkids are with extra toys for them just in case tv isn’t working. No ice either. Staff member told me that they have several rooms 12 I think that have hot tubs in them however they don’t rent them out and over half the building is used for storage rooms that were conference rooms are now storage. With no individual outside doors or windows wonder if that would be a fire hazard.

It is very quiet here. Big TV. Clean. Nice.

The front counter lady was very nice and very helpful.

They did not honor my reservation. Overbooked themselves and I was left with no place to stay at midnight in a strange town.

Room didn't have TV or microwave was sat in the lobby called the front desk 5 times in a row and they never picked up. Towels was dirty had to go buy me some. Continental Breakfast is a joke. I do not recommend this hotel to any one.

The young men who work the desk were very nice. I stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is dated but my room was clean and I was comfortable. It did say breakfast on the website but all I saw was cereal, bread, and coffee. Overall, my stay was good. Nothing fancy but a good place to shower, rest, and sleep.

I had the absolute worst Hotel stay over the weekend. Checked into the Rodeway Inn in Abilene TX for one night. The deskclerk was smirky and borderline rude. After he deigned to check me in, I went to the room. Looked for a cup.. no cups or glasses. Went back to the desk, asked for a cup. "There are no cups." "what?". "No cups in this hotel - at all." Again with kind of a smirky, borderline rude manner. Eh! went out to grab some food, came back an hour or so later. Figured I could watch a late football game... No TV controller. Back out to the desk, he handed me a controller. Back to the room. The damn thing would NOT turn on the TV. Started looking around the room more carefully. The microwave was missing the glass plate that rotates. In the bathroom, there was... a sink. Just the sink against a blank wall. No counters or cabinets. I guess I should be grateful they provided TP by the toilet? No Iron or board. No hairdryer. No plastic laundery bag. The "closet" had one hanger - left by previous guest, and the rod was like four feet above the floor. No ice bucket. Not even a trash can. There was a pile of dirty laundry about 6-8 feet in front of my room when I checked in. It was still there in the morning when I went for coffee. As I was leaving I asked the daytime desk clerk for a refund. (And I would not put out the worlds worst review ever.) He just smiled and said it doesn't matter. This is a franchise and nobody cares. "Welcome to Abilene", he said.

They never received my reservation, the people were rude and I could not get a hold Expedia to ask for a refund ended up staying at another motel. I do expect a refund from you and I would like to know why thet never recieved my reservation. This is not the first time this has happened to me and my wife, I am ready to file a complaint with the BBB and Texas Attorney General of Texas.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. There were no wash cloths in the bathroom. The hotel needs some updates and remodeling but it was still cozy. No frills but safe

I arrived to see my daughter run in Regional Track meet. I went to check in the man at the desk ask my name, typed and then said you booked through a 3rd party (hotels.com) so you were booted as we are over booked. I told him I had a reservation for over a week, he informed me I was out and rudely went to the phone. I then slept in the truck as there were no other rooms available. Avoid this hotel if at all possible. IT is not easy to get to as well.

Desk person was rude. Looked over worked. Properly looked pretty unkept, trash outside of the exit door. Looked like lots of people accidentally lived in the hotel. A little scary. Room was clean, could have used a new bath tub.

The rooms are ok but the outside is terrible. Trash everywhere and random people . Like I think other activities are going on around there .

This place be CRAWLING at night, beware of the sleepwalkers roaming the halls and the constant noice and you’ll be okay. Overall it’s nice, the other people make this place 1 out of 5 stars in there lonesome. (Doors are cracked and with open prison style rooms - this isn’t good)

There was no toilet paper available they had none. They was a bad smell of pot walking outside the hotel. Not safe at all

The staff was very friendly, however the breakfast really lacks in choices! No sugar for coffee only slenda, bread almost gone and not refilled, they only offer oatmeal bread No Butter and no sugar or creamer for coffee

Bathroom was clean but the room and the rest of the property was disgusting. Beds were gross but comfortable. Little to no breakfast. Signed nothing at check in. Was handed a key. One of the weirdest experiences ever.

It was an ok experience , I was able to check in early by 30mins . However never once didn't any housekeeping staff com by and check if I needed clean towels. Also the breakfast wasn't nothing they put cereal dispensers out that had two cereal choice and a gallon of milk in the fridge that s all

Breakfast sucks only cereal

The Continental Breakfast was non existant. There were only 2 pieces of bread in the package. There was cereal but no milk. That was the extent of the food. There was nobody at the desk when I was trying to get breakfast. Very disappointing. Aside from that, the ficility looked very nice.
