Overall this was a fabulous stay for a family of two kids and two adults. The upstairs loft with two twin beds was perfect! The DVD player was previously melted by the fireplace so we couldn’t get that to work, but there was Nextflix, Hulu, and just about any other streaming service on the TV you could imagine so we managed fine with that. The hot tub was perfect for our whole crew and we really enjoyed that. Plenty of towels for everyone to have their own, but no laundry onsite so you will have to hang them to resuse. With a name like “the Bass House” we expected to have a pond to fish in while we were there so that was our only real disappointment. The pond there is actually on the neighbor’s property so it isn’t available for use. We had everything inside/outside the cabin we needed to grill steaks, cook potatoes and sides and stay really comfortable the whole time we were there. Totally a 5/5 stay overall!

Not at all what I expected. The hot tub was not on and sitting at 74’. Took until the next day to be warm enough to get in. A total of 4 dogs on the porch constantly. The dogs were covered in ticks. I contacted the host just be told “there are no leash laws in that area” so nothing they could do about it. Rat droppings in the silverware drawers, so we went to the local dollar general to get plate, cups and utensils. It’s hard to relax with that many dogs. So we either stayed away out doing things or just stayed in the cabin. The downstairs bed is on the harder side. My daughter stayed upstairs where it was probably 85’ with no outlets to plug anything up. So I went back to the local dollar general and bought a fan and an extension cord so I could run the plug downstairs. All in all, we will not be staying at this location again. Big thank you to the dollar general for supplying everything we needed for this stay.

We stayed 2 nights in this quaint little cabin. We came to see the fall foliage in DeSoto State Park and Little River Canyon. We were not disappointed. The Cabin is far enough out to feel privacy, but close enough to get to Ft Payne in a short time. The cabin is perfect for couples, but be prepared to climb a steep ladder to the loft and twin beds if your group is more than 2 people. Be sure to screen shot your check in info including door code, because cell service is spotty. There is good WiFi in the cabin. It’s not a fancy place but is comfortable and convenient. The hot tub is nice. It is not walking distance to the park, but it’s only a few minutes drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

The Cabin was very clean and everything a cabin should be:) 5 mins away from DeSoto State Park 15 mins away from DeSoto Falls. Hot tub was clean and relaxing:) Definitely worth booking for a getaway from the Everyday!!

Property wasn’t as remote as add made it out to be. House was right next door, viewable from hot tub on porch. Hot tub water smelled bad like a fish aquarium. Mattress was really hard and uncomfortable, pillows were very flat and empty feeling. Did not sleep well at all.

This is an amazing property. There was a car show there which was a bonus. Seclusion at its best!!! You can’t see the cabin from the street which is great. The cabin was perfect with all the amenities. Hot tub, Wi-Fi and BBQ grill was the highlight of my trip. Will definitely do again, oh and the owner is A1. I had a small issue and he took care of it right away.

The cabin was comfortable and convenient and perfect for our overnight stay. The hot tub was a bonus. The ladder to the loft was a little treacherous. My fault as I hadn't noticed it when I reviewed the pictures but it did cause a bit of a problem for us older folk! We managed fine though.

We were a family of four and this rental was not stocked adequately. 3 coffee mugs, one kitchen towel and 1.5 rolls of toilet paper for four days. No salt, only pepper. Kitchen is not stocked with even minimal essentials, neither is the bathroom. One two inch tube of a shampoo/conditioner combo and two bars of soap that were one inch in diameter. We brought our own, but this unit was way over priced for what was presented upon arrival. Roaches in the kitchen, along with visible rodent droppings in the kitchen drawers. The neighbors dogs were covered in so many ticks that when they finally left the porch, ticks were visibly crawling on the porch mat. One of the rocking chairs has a broken slat that makes it unusable. If you want privacy (or even to have a simple conversation with your spouse in the bedroom) you will be disappointed. Our teens in the loft could hear us whispering in the downstairs bedroom. Nice hot tub.

Very nice very cozy cabin. Beautiful location. Right beside desoto national park. Desoto falls is a must to see an explore. Rambler the bloodhound was cool too a little stinky but great friend. The bed in the downstairs is a little worn out a doesn’t sleep very well. But climb the stairs a put the two twins together upstairs a king size bed it is a sleep good.

Bass Cabin made for a fantastic and comfortable family trip. Our kids loved having the loft! It was a perfect location as well! Close to everything while still feeling like the middle of nowhere. The cows were a fun surprise and our kids were fascinated by them. We will be back!

Cabin was clean and as described, the ladder is very hard to get up lol so my friend ended up sleeping on the couch other than that the property is on a very quiet farm on a dead end road the only real recommendation that I would give is to add a partition to the jacuzzi for privacy from the neighboring house, and possibly some games/cornhole for family entertainment at a future time but the cabin is a cute little getaway and literally minutes from desoto park

I frequently stay at vacation cabins and planned accordingly for this one. However, I was unprepared for the Bass Cabin. The kitchen was not stocked with cookware to cook the food I brought. I came back home with some lovely steaks and lamb chops. There isn't a dishwasher, so be ready for that. Note the ladder to the loft in the photos. My travel partner and I somehow overlooked that it is straight vertical. It's nearly impossible to take any kind of luggage up. The loft isn't a space for adults. It was essentially inaccessible and one of us slept on the couch. This property is not as private as the photos lead one to believe. It is probably much better when leaves are on the trees. I don't recommend this cabin. It was disappointing at best. In fact, I left a day early.

This is a great place to stay for a couple days. I like having a recliner. They have a nice porch that looks over a field and a pond. It was peaceful to listen to the frogs and birds. At the end of the road, so no traffic noise.

Wife and I needed just a little place with pice and quiet. Oh, and a hot tub. Perfect. A few things that could have been better. The bed downstairs feeds to be replace. The mattress is sunk in really bad in the middle and there is very little water pressure when taking a shower. It makes it very difficult to rinse off. Other than those two things, it was perfect.

Our stay was great! It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing (as much as it can be with 2 kids) It is located close enough to the local attractions, and even DoorDash will deliver there. The master bed is extremely firm. They have plenty of towels for showers and the hot tub. The owner was friendly and was easy to contact. Highly recommend the bass house!

Check in/ check out was super easy. Cabin was clean, hot tub was excellent on a cool winters evening. Very easy to find the cabin. Location was great just a few minutes from DeSoto State Park. My only real complaint is that there wasn't any chairs around the fire pit. I had read that firewood wasn't provided so we picked up our own on the way up. We got there and there was firewood but nowhere to sit around fire. We will know next time to bring our own camp chairs. Other than that no complaints and would stay again if in the area.
Check in/ check out was super easy. Cabin was clean, hot tub was excellent on a cool winters evening. Very easy to find the cabin. Location was great just a few minutes from DeSoto State Park. My only real complaint is that there wasn't any chairs around the fire pit. I had read that firewood wasn't provided so we picked up our own on the way up. We got there and there was firewood but nowhere to sit around fire. We will know next time to bring our own camp chairs. Other than that no complaints and would stay again if in the area.

Was looking for a few days away from the hustle and hectic homelife with kids, animals and neighbors. This cabin was in a great spot away from everything, but still close to some great things to do. The spa was definitely a great bonus even with the weather on the chilly side. We did have a few concerns when we first arrived, but after a quick communication with the property manager, he responded quickly and took care of everything and answered our questions without delay. This is an amazing property. There was a car show there which was a bonus. Seclusion at its best!!! You can’t see the cabin from the street which is great. The cabin was perfect with all the amenities. Hot tub, Wi-Fi and BBQ grill was the highlight of my trip. Will definitely do again, oh and the owner is A1. I had a small issue and he took care of it right away.

Spotlessly clean, beautiful area! Had problems checking in. Instructions were for a lock box which wasn't there. Even putting in the code didn't work. Once communication with owner was made, problem was solved and the stay was very pleasant.

Our stay was very nice ! Devin is easily reachable and the cabin was very cute! It was close to town yet still very much secluded. We went on a different hike every day and it was perfect! Will definitely come and stay again !

We stayed 2 nights in this quaint little cabin. We came to see the fall foliage in DeSoto State Park and Little River Canyon. We were not disappointed. The Cabin is far enough out to feel privacy, but close enough to get to Ft Payne in a short time. The cabin is perfect for couples, but be prepared to climb a steep ladder to the loft and twin beds if your group is more than 2 people. Be sure to screen shot your check in info including door code, because cell service is spotty. There is good WiFi in the cabin. It’s not a fancy place but is comfortable and convenient. The hot tub is nice. It is not walking distance to the park, but it’s only a few minutes drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

Cabin was clean and as described, the ladder is very hard to get up lol so my friend ended up sleeping on the couch other than that the property is on a very quiet farm on a dead end road the only real recommendation that I would give is to add a partition to the jacuzzi for privacy from the neighboring house, and possibly some games/cornhole for family entertainment at a future time but the cabin is a cute little getaway and literally minutes from desoto park

Property wasn’t as remote as add made it out to be. House was right next door, viewable from hot tub on porch. Hot tub water smelled bad like a fish aquarium. Mattress was really hard and uncomfortable, pillows were very flat and empty feeling. Did not sleep well at all.

I frequently stay at vacation cabins and planned accordingly for this one. However, I was unprepared for the Bass Cabin. The kitchen was not stocked with cookware to cook the food I brought. I came back home with some lovely steaks and lamb chops. There isn't a dishwasher, so be ready for that. Note the ladder to the loft in the photos. My travel partner and I somehow overlooked that it is straight vertical. It's nearly impossible to take any kind of luggage up. The loft isn't a space for adults. It was essentially inaccessible and one of us slept on the couch. This property is not as private as the photos lead one to believe. It is probably much better when leaves are on the trees. I don't recommend this cabin. It was disappointing at best. In fact, I left a day early.

This is a great place to stay for a couple days. I like having a recliner. They have a nice porch that looks over a field and a pond. It was peaceful to listen to the frogs and birds. At the end of the road, so no traffic noise.
