This hotel is gorgeous and very comfortable and serene. It's in a great locations very close to the Zocalo and the lagoon. The concierge team was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The restaurant on site had great drinks but I think the food could be improved as it left little to be desired in terms of options. I do have a severe shellfish allergy and they were VERY on top of that which I appreciated. You do not have your own fridge or TV in the room if that matters to you. They also don't provide body wash, which I found odd, but other than that I would absolutely stay here again. It was absolutely lovely and the many pools were a godsend with the heat as they keep them cool.

Honestly a beautiful resort, but pool floors definitely need deep cleaning and FUMIGATION of rooms and resort should be a priority as it’s infested with mosquitos and rooms/beds have non stop bugs/pests falling from ceiling. Staff were super courteous and location was extremely convenient. Would be a perfect resort if management considers fumigations.

Title: A Peaceful Stay with Wonderful Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ We stayed at Casa Hormiga for two days and, overall, had a wonderful experience. The tranquility of the property was one of its most impressive features. It provided the perfect atmosphere to relax and unwind, while still being conveniently located near town and many great restaurants. The staff truly stood out during our stay. Everyone was warm, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Their hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. There were a couple of areas that could be improved. On our first day, the pool was noticeably dirty, which was disappointing for our group. Fortunately, it was cleaned the following day, and we were able to enjoy it afterward. We also rented four rooms, and everyone in our party experienced quite a few mosquito bites during our stay. It made us wonder whether the property is regularly fumigated, as this was the one issue that affected all of us. On a positive note, breakfast was excellent. My family especially loved the pancakes, and the presentation of each dish was impressive. The food was both delicious and beautifully plated. Despite the mosquito bites and the pool issue on our first day, our entire group had an amazing time at Casa Hormiga. The peaceful atmosphere, excellent service, delicious breakfast, and ideal location far outweighed the negatives. We left with great memories and would happily return on a future visit.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Hormiga: it's well-located; the room was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated; the included breakfast was delicious and plentiful (and served by a great and friendly member of staff); the staff were always attentive to our requests and questions; and the option to swim in the lagoon at the hotel's partner bar, La Playita, between 8am-12pm before other tourists arrived was so incredibly appreciated and made it especially worthwhile. Also: the bakery/cafe opposite, Bamoa, (not affiliated with the hotel) offered some of the best food and drink we had in Bacalar. Recommended.
