great stay. 1 mile from center, but easy to get around. Great grounds to relax, rooms with view amazing. Would def stay again and staff very friendly. For non english speakers learn some spanish it will go along way. Also use of common kitchen very helpful. Basic breakfast was great.

The staff was great at receiving us at the time requested. The view to the lagoon was amazing. They have options to rent a kayak and go out to the lagoon. (We suggest an early morning kayak outing to see the sunrise and be back to the hotel before 9am, that’s when the winds tend to pick up). The bartender at the bar on the property was friendly and the views from the seating areas and hammocks were amazing!

Nous avons payé exprès plus cher pour avoir une chambre plus grande (36m2) et avec vue panoramique (à l’étage) mais quand on arrive sur place, on nous donne une chambre basique (20m2) au rez-de-chaussée. On demande pourquoi et la première réponse est qu’il y a eu un problème avec le système. On creuse un peu et on appelle la plateforme de réservation pour tirer ça au clair, l’hôtel change alors de version en disant que la chambre de 36m2 n’existe pas et que toutes les chambres sont identiques … ils vendent donc des chambres qui n’existent pas !!! Ils ne reconnaissent même pas leur erreur et n’ont proposé absolument aucun dédommagement. On aurait du se douter que la demande de paiement cash à l’arrivée cachait quelque chose … Évitez de vous faire avoir à votre tour et réservez autre part sur la lagune, il y a plein d’autres endroits beaucoup mieux !! De plus, la personne à la réception est très antipathique, pas un sourire, elle ne vous regarde même pas dans les yeux. Bref, ils n’aiment pas leurs clients mais seulement leur argent …! Pour finir, la qualité du logement laisse fortement à désirer. De très mauvaises odeurs dans la salle de bain, un wifi de mauvaise qualité et un petit-déjeuner très limité. Je ne recommande absolument pas cet endroit, passez votre chemin !

Me encanta que tiene acceso directo a la Laguna, puedes relajarte y pasar el día leyendo un libro en las hamacas o viendo cambiar los colores de la laguna, el cuarto es pequeño pero cómodo, el desayuno es continental con fruta, café, pan tostado , yogurth que dejan satisfecho :) ya que no cuentan con servicio de restaurante pero está bien puedes hacer uso de la cocina común y comprar tu despensa, solo recomendaría poner almohadas más gorditas para mayor comodidad, pero en si todo bien con mi estancia :D

I’m not sure how many rooms there are at this property, but it seems a very boutique hotel. There were four rooms in my building. They gave me the Papaya room. If you’re looking for quiet, this is your place I love that this hotel offered kayak as well as paddle boards, they had a pontoon and a sailboat. There is a bar on property. Tons of seating area throughout and hammocks. My room had a hammock in front of a glass lighting door. *** the sliding door lock for the room it’s a bit to wrestle with, but I felt very safe. The rooms are very simplistic yet clean. I love that the property is right on the water. *** There is free parking. There’s also a very steep ramp that goes into a small parking area. But I prefer parking on the street. There’s a great restaurant four minutes drive time on the same street. Chiltepan Maricos has outdoor terrace sitting. You can get a partial view of the lagoon.

Gran lugar a un precio accesible para visitar Bacalar. La vista a la laguna es inmejorable, tienen kayaks en renta y hamacas para los huespedes. La cama muy cómoda, solo la regadera tenía baja presión para bañarse. Definitivamente regresaré en un futuro a hospedarme en este lugar. La atención por parte del personal fue muy buena. El desayuno es muy sencillo, solo pan tostado, mermelada, crema de maní, café y fruta.

El lugar bonito, lo único malo fue que no aceptaron pago con tarjeta, entonces tuvimos que ir a buscar un cajero hasta el centro y ya teníamos poco tiempo para llegar el aeropuerto). Deberían tener terminales de repuesto en caso de estas emergencias o poder pagar desde la app

Super simple and clean, quiet too. Located n a good area of the lagoon for swimming, and directly across from bird island, making for a nice kayak trip. Only potful was very low water pressure. And chilly water…but that’s easy enough to get past, given the rest of the place is perfect!

El hotel está super bn ubicado y los chicos de recepción son muy atentos, sin embargo hubo algunos problemas: 1. La chica de la mañana en recepción no es nada servicial y se molesta si le pides algo. 2. Todas las mañanas hay que bajar a recepción a pedirles que enciendan la bomba de agua para poderse bañar. 3. Hubo un día que no hicieron la limpieza de la recámara; el chico que estaba en recepción resolvió haciendo el mismo la limpieza.

Excelente estadía, los cuartos limpios y con todo lo necesario para descansar. La vista es hermosa, el personal muy amable. La profundidad de la laguna en esa zona puede ser un detalle a considerar si no sabes nadar.

Die Lage ist wunderschön an der Lagune, das ist auf jeden Fall hilfreich, da man ohne Hotel an der Lagune nur über Beachclubs dahin kommt. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Ausblick auf die Lagune und es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Das Zimmer an sich ist schön, weißt aber einige Mängel auf. Die Dusche wird nicht warm/heiß und hat quasi null Wasserdruck und auch das Bad allgemein riecht ab und zu nach Abfluss. Allgemein würden wir das Hotel empfehlen und auch wiederkommen.

Quelle déception ! À part la vue de la chambre, tout est horrible ! Pas d’eau la nuit dans les toilettes, salle de bain avec des odeurs de fosse septique, propreté douteuse. Le petit déjeuner est à pleurer et vous faites vous même la vaisselle !

View from balcony was great. exactly as shown on website. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was very good with a reasonable selection. There was a great restaurant about 2-3 minute walk from hotel on opposite side of street.

Booked a room that was a little more $ because it was on the second floor and had a nicer view. When we arrived we were told that expedia had made our reservation for a ground floor room even though i had booked through hotels.com. they were very nice but said there were no rooms upstairs with a view.

The room had everything one needs on holiday really. I mean no hot water but we hadn’t had hot water anywhere. The view was gorgeous and ceiling fan/AC options were much appreciated. We really enjoyed our time in Bacalar! The staff would really enjoy their jobs more if they engaged with the visitors.

Beautiful hotel right on Bacalar's lagoon. Be aware the "sandia" room with the two separate beds does not have lagoon views or a balcony. We switched to "papaya" room, a lower level with one queen bed, and that was great. Hammock in front, views to the lagoon. Helpful staff. Clean bedding and room. Simple breakfast included. Great little area down by the lagoon for hanging out, plus the dock and covered pavilion at the end, and a bar area. Really laid back and great value for the price.

Beautiful location in the lagoon, can’t beat it. The rooms are small but very comfortable, a very peaceful and laid back vibe. There is no restaurant or bar but that is fine with us! There are bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk or a 20 minute walk/an easy cab ride into town. We would definitely stay here again.

This small hotel right on the lagoon was my favorite hotel in Mexico. Originally, I was in a room without a view but the woman that runs the place moved me to a room with a beautiful view of the lagoon. The woman was so helpful and went out of her way for me, which I really appreciated. Would definitely stay again!

Originally, I was in a room without a view but the woman that runs the place moved me to a room with a beautiful view of the lagoon. The woman was so helpful and went out of her way for me, which I really appreciated. Would definitely stay again!

El hotel está super bn ubicado y los chicos de recepción son muy atentos, sin embargo hubo algunos problemas: 1. La chica de la mañana en recepción no es nada servicial y se molesta si le pides algo. 2. Todas las mañanas hay que bajar a recepción a pedirles que enciendan la bomba de agua para poderse bañar. 3. Hubo un día que no hicieron la limpieza de la recámara; el chico que estaba en recepción resolvió haciendo el mismo la limpieza.

Left sunglasses behind and we contacted Tropic Bacalar, we sent a transfer of money to get them shipped to us to condo in Mexico and appears it was a scam as we never received them. The address we provided was the same address we put for Amazon and other purchases and they all arrive. Tropic Bacalar however used the excuse that the address is not complete which is not true. Disappointed we didn’t get glasses back and paid for the shipping.

This place is incredible. I don't want to leave a good review so I can get a room when I return. Wonderful quiet spot on the water, a little out of town. Great accommodation, clean, with cold buffet breakfast provided, but a small kitchen shared to do your own cooking. Great hospitality, friendly and accommodating. I would not hesitate to recommend or to visit again. Like goi g to cottage country back home, but only in the incredible Bacalar.

Die Lage ist wunderschön an der Lagune, das ist auf jeden Fall hilfreich, da man ohne Hotel an der Lagune nur über Beachclubs dahin kommt. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Ausblick auf die Lagune und es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Das Zimmer an sich ist schön, weißt aber einige Mängel auf. Die Dusche wird nicht warm/heiß und hat quasi null Wasserdruck und auch das Bad allgemein riecht ab und zu nach Abfluss. Allgemein würden wir das Hotel empfehlen und auch wiederkommen.

View from balcony was great. exactly as shown on website. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was very good with a reasonable selection. There was a great restaurant about 2-3 minute walk from hotel on opposite side of street.

Beautiful location in the lagoon, can’t beat it. The rooms are small but very comfortable, a very peaceful and laid back vibe. There is no restaurant or bar but that is fine with us! There are bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk or a 20 minute walk/an easy cab ride into town. We would definitely stay here again.

Mysigt ställe med en fantastisk utsikt över lagunen, flera härliga hängmattor, fantastiska drinkar, bra service (24h), tryggt område, vacker soluppgång, bra fungerande ac, gångavstånd till flera bra restauranger, kortare taxiresa in till stan. Saker som hade höjt upplevelsen ytterligare: -Annan typ av solstolar (den finns visserligen några stycken i trä, men man kan bara ligga på rygg i dem) -En eller ett par mindre handdukar för händer och ansikte samt ytterligare en för golvet -En eller ett par extra rullar med toapapper på rummet (vårt tog slut mitt i natten och vi fick gå ner och be om mer från nattpersonalen) -Dåligt isolerade rum, man hör grannarna väldigt tydligt. Kanske en ny dörr in till rummet hade hjälpt!

La vista es increíble, en el bar tienen exquisitas bebidas, el desayuno es ideal para no salir sin comer pero tampoco para súper llenarte y perderte de la gastronomía de los diversos restaurantes que tiene Bacalar. Si buscas alguna actividad extra como kayak, paddel o bici, ellos te pueden ayudar.

Me encanta que tiene acceso directo a la Laguna, puedes relajarte y pasar el día leyendo un libro en las hamacas o viendo cambiar los colores de la laguna, el cuarto es pequeño pero cómodo, el desayuno es continental con fruta, café, pan tostado , yogurth que dejan satisfecho :) ya que no cuentan con servicio de restaurante pero está bien puedes hacer uso de la cocina común y comprar tu despensa, solo recomendaría poner almohadas más gorditas para mayor comodidad, pero en si todo bien con mi estancia :D

Gran lugar a un precio accesible para visitar Bacalar. La vista a la laguna es inmejorable, tienen kayaks en renta y hamacas para los huespedes. La cama muy cómoda, solo la regadera tenía baja presión para bañarse. Definitivamente regresaré en un futuro a hospedarme en este lugar. La atención por parte del personal fue muy buena. El desayuno es muy sencillo, solo pan tostado, mermelada, crema de maní, café y fruta.

We booked the lagoon facing room and glad we did. Spectacular view, as advertised on the images. You can even hear the birds from bird island in the morning. Gorgeous sunrise. You can rent kayaks or paddle boards and we regret not hiring them to go see the sunrise in the middle of the lagoon. The hammock on the balcony was a great option. Very relaxing, and we were taking turns on lying on it, but there could have been a more comfortable seat in the room, as one of us had to sit on a beautiful but small and uncomfortable chair. or the bed. The overhead fan was loud. Massive TV. The shower pressure was strong, which we absolutely loved. The staff was lovely. We will definitely book this place again on our next visit.
