Excellent hotel with a spacious room and clean gym!

This hotel was stunning from the moment you arrive the staff wete very welcoming and friendly. Check in was fast and simple. We were upgraded and received some gifts which was a lovely surprise. We wete on the 6th floor with views of the city skyline.The room was spacious and spotlessly clean.The thing we appreciated was the water and ice station's on every floor, as it was very hot weather during our stay. The only negative was the air conditioning it was very lack lustre in that we could not feel it. We spoke to reception who got maintenance to check but it made no difference we could hear it was working and could feel it slightly in one spot in the room but not cold enough. The hotel has a lovely bar and cafe but yhe Italian restaurant is now closed so we where disappointed with that. There is a rooftop bar which we were given a discount card for but they do not accept this? As they are nothing to do with the hotel you gain entry to the bar via the hotel if you are a guest BUT this does not guarantee entry we were given 2 seats at the bar for an hour only as you have to book online but as it was the werkend was fully booked. The views were stunning though especially at night. The hotel is situated right opposite Aldgate tube station and a 10 minute walk to tower bridge tower of London and St Katherines Dock where there are many bars snd restaurants.You can slso get the uber boats from the pier. We are going to stay again.

I had such an amazing stay here, it really felt like a high end London hotel. The gym was great, breakfast wonderful, room beautiful and spacious. All the staff were polite and nice.

Clean room, very friendly staff. Very well managed and run. Great atmosphere in the lobby, close to Aldgate station, would stay here again. Parking available, but best to call in advance to make sure its available.

Lack of parking and getting to property was not easy. No space for drop off or unloading. For a $600 a night hotel; parking and drop Off experience should have been better.

The hotel is newly built but the room cleanness is below the average. The breakfast buffet is very good. It is near the bus/tube station so it is very convenient, walking distance to tower bridge.

Terrible Hygiene Issues! They pretend to clean bu they don’t underneath the bed you will find a dust, crumbles and many others stuff build up … and when I say a lot this is huge like it’s never been done .. what they do is cover it.. same underneath the toilet .. inside the cupboards and many other places can’t name them all but I think I made my point… ripped bed sheets …. Sink … shower

Lovely time had, shame it was only 1 night room large spotlessly clean coffee machine, fridge, robes & slippers as standard very pleased will stay again (next year chelsea flower show it's only 7stops away on the underground) perfect all round

Cleaners missing the basics

I chose the hotel because Expedia review was 9.2, we got an upgrade at a lower price than what posted online which was great. But may have had an expectation too high so I was a bit disappointed at the service - service staff doesn’t greet us at all - may be a British tradition? I asked for some supplies - a trash bag, the cleaning lady was very impatient, then another day I asked for three things and it took the guy three times to get them right. Bathroom was probably updated at some Point but we see dirty grouts in the shower. On the ceiling we see lot of molded leaking marks which was too bothersome to be brought up…

The overall vibe of the hotel was very nice. We were very impressed with our room. It was super spacious and the beds were very comfy. We also loved we had the option to stream on the TV. We hardly heard any noise from outside of our room. The only thing they could improve on was the water pressure of the shower as it was pretty weak. The breakfast was also very nice with lots of options.

I stayed in this hotel for over a week - it started to feel like home. The room was quiet and the blackout curtains were so good (which is key in summer with the sun out late). The staff and breakfast were good. The bar area was friendly and great for a light happy hour or snack and the rooftop bar was beautiful. The beds were comfortable. Great desk space for working and a dedicated area to hang clothing made this an easy hotel to call home away from home. Directly across the street from the underground, getting around all of London was a breeze.

Great hotel in a great location, very close to tube and easy walking distance to Tower Bridge, Thames and Spittlefields. Staff on front desk were great and hotel room was large and very comfortable. Having a Nespresso machine and a refillable water carafe (with a chilled water machine in hall) were great additions to the room. We would definitely go back to the hotel and would recommend it. Only suggestion for main hotel was that it was a shame that they closed the outside bar seating area at 10pm and, whilst inside, the bar remained open, it felt a little like they were clearing up from 10pm. Our biggest disappointment was rooftop bar, which we were told was a separate business to the hotel but as a customer that isn't clear. Staff are not very welcoming and despite several times declining filtered water for the table, they brought some anyway, then poured it even though we asked them to take it away and then tried to charge £4 for it. We were drinking champagne so it really wasn't that we couldn't afford the £4, it just felt underhand when we had said no. If someone had said upfront that there was a table service charge including water then that wouldn't have been an issue, but it's the fact that its clearly a sneaky add on to an already expensive bar. Not a tactic I would expect in a good hotel. Didn't experience this in the other two rooftop bars we visited so try those instead. but overall Canopy Hilton is a great choice for its staff, location and good rooms

One night stay in London very comfortable, The bed was amazing!

I enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself was great, rooms very clean and spacious. The staff are all lovely. The only issue was the rooftop bar. It is independent of Hilton. They play very loud music with a deep beat until 11pm. This could be heard in our room (7th floor)and we couldn't drown it out. We did visit the bar on our arrival were allowed to stay for 1 hour as we did not have a reservation. It is extremely expensive. The views however are stunning.

Spacious room for central london

The room was spacious. The staff were very accommodating. Even though we arrived at 6am our room was ready, which was fantastic after a 17 hour flight.

Check-in staff (Chelsea) was very friendly, polite and professional. Hotel “vibe” is excellent; very quiet; excellent fitness facilities; great view of Canary Wharf skyline from room; great location in the City and near Aldgate tube station. On our first night, my daughter lost some jewellery down the sink drain and a maintenance worker was able to retrieve it quickly and professionally, much to my daughter’s relief. It was a very pleasurable stay and I highly recommend the Canopy by Hilton in London.

We had a really lovely stay at Canopy Hilton London City. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. There was a slight delay at check-in, however, we were given free drink vouchers whilst we were waiting and the room was immaculate upon arrival. The bed was really comfy and we slept really well. The hotel was in a great location for a weekend trip to London. It was lovely and quiet and we were provided with bathroom products, towels and coffee/tea for the morning. We would definitely recommend and will be returning soon!

Fantastic hotel and stay, what a find! Its rare to find some a gem of a hotel and leave feeling that you have literally nothing that you would change! From the moment we arrived, we were delighted to be able to check in super early and it just improved from there! We were soo surprised to have been chosen as 'guests of the day', receiving a room upgrade and some delightful treats! We can't wait to return soon and would highly recommend this wonderful hotel. Thank you to the staff who are going that extra mile

What an amazing stay! My wife and I chose this hotel due to the Hilton name, it was our first time traveling abroad and wanted something familiar. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The room was great, but the best part was the staff, especially the lobby staff. I want to give a shout out to our 2 favorite bartenders, Tan and Dani. That’s not to shortchange the other members of the lobby staff, those 2 just happened to be the ones to mostly serve us. The conversations were light and funny, the perfect way to cap off the night. When we come back to London, we will surely stay at Canopy by Hilton, as well as recommend to others. Other things to consider: -This hotel is right next to the bust station, as well as less than 1 block from Aldgate station on the metro tube line, which was very convenient. -There were water and ice stations on every floor, which was great when leaving for the day to walk around the city (10 miles) to fill water bottles on the way in and out. -The hotel also had a coffee shop that was open early, though we never stopped in, the menu looked great. -We arrived about 3 hours before normal check in time, and our room was available and ready, though this may not always be the case, it was great for us.

Although the hotel is great and in a great location, my experience this time was not as ideal as it usually is. I have stayed at Canopy many times; on this occasion I booked 10 nights and only stayed for 5 as there was a death in the family and had to return home. The hotel then refused to reimburse me for the remainding nights. They also then gave my room away after checkout and my son was not able to use it for his stay. Essentially they have made twice the money on the nights I did not stay. I love the hotel and the location but as a Hiltons honours member I am appalled but the level of heartlessness in this occasion. In future I will make sure to book a room that allows for partial refunds upon an emergency. Or at the very least, some sympathy.

Great stay - wish we stayed longer! Staff was also very friendly and helpful.

After checking in, my partner and I went to the room we were assigned and opened the room door to walk in on guests still occupying the room. We were assigned a new room with minimal apology from the front desk. The next three nights were fine. However, at around 10am the morning of our check out date, someone walked into our room after we had very recently gotten out of the shower and were still fully exposed. I did not have my glasses on yet so I could not see if it was another guest or, more likely, the cleaning service. Even if it was the cleaning service, check out doesn’t end until 11am and there were no knocks or announcement of someone trying to enter the room. This left my partner and I disturbed and shaken up. Upon telling the front desk of this incident during our check out, they seemed rather unconcerned with the incident (even after reminding them we were on the other end of this encounter during check in) and offered a very small and insincere apology saying it was probably just the cleaning service. The hotel as a property was very lovely and there were no issues with cleanliness or anything of that nature. However there are some obvious issues that need to be addressed for the safety of guests.

Super convenient to Aldgate Tube station! Very safe and clean part convenient to walk to Tower and Tower Bridge. Wonderful amenities and great big breakfast. We had a Family Room for 5 of us and it was a perfect hub for our families first trip to London!

This hotel was average. Nothing great to say, nothing terrible to say. There wasn't a lot to do around this location on the weekends as it's more in the business district so I would not recommend staying here as a tourist

Very conveniently located in the city of London. Close to the Tube and walkable to many sites.

The property was around most amenities we needed, restaurants, breakfast places, pharmacies and especially the underground train station. Just a block away from the property, Aldgate.

Excellent breakfast buffet. Courteous staff. The only thing I did not like is the power outlet in all roooms are not universal, they are design ed for UK. You need to carry your own universal power outlet or else you will not be able to even charge your cellphone. The power outlet in bathroom doesn't work properly, it keep son connecting/disconnecting if you plug in your charger in it. It cannot charge your laptop.

The hotel and the room were excellent. However, at the end of the evening when we came back after 1030 we were told at the bar we were not able to order a hot drink. This is unacceptable, especially if you do not drink alcohol and it is a cold evening and the fact is we should be able to get any drink that we require for the money that we are paying so we were very disappointed. Having to go back outside to buy a hot drink From a local convenience store is not what I wanted to do on my night.
