Good solid stay. Pool v nice.

Great location. Staff was amazing Norma clean our room in our stay and she was very pleasant. The two girls in the reception were awesome vey helpful. The water in the jacuzzi and the pool was cold so we didn’t enjoy that but the roof top was really nice. Overall I give 5 stars I would definitely stay there again.

L'emplacement était tres bien. La piscine est tres belle mais en travaux sur une partie de la terasse. Ce netait pas tres reposant et il manquait de place rapidement du au travaux. La chambre etait bien équipé pour repondre a un couple. Malheureusement beaucoup de bruit et peu insonorisée de la porte vers le corridor. Le menage de la chambre au dessu de nous a ete fait pendant la nuit cela nous a deranger un bon moment! Mais nous avons vécu un beau sejour!

The room was as described. The hotel was a bit confusing to find at first, even the cab driver had a bit of difficulty. But after I get to understand the street address structure, it is pretty easy to get around. You should mention that the hotel is still under construction. The rooms on the 2nd floor had no room numbers. I had to try my key at each door until I found my room. Consider a rail at that top of the ramp near the front door. I would hate someone not paying attention to walk out the front door and fall those few feet down into the street. Its an easy fix. The rooftop is still under construction. I was able to enjoy parts of it but it would be nice to know it was not complete when signing in. Other than that, the stay was wonderful.

I stay for 9 nights the water was not working for 3 full days its was on weekend. Almost everyone left in the middle of the night to a different hotel The elevator was broken for 24 hours The toilet didn’t flush It’s was a very bad experience!!!!!!

loved this hotel conveniently located and absolutely beautiful the staff were super friendly and helpful its was such a nice relaxing vibe only thing i could recommend is parking for guest and heating up the jacuzzi other then that i loved this place!!

It is my second year coming to Sofia Bunik and I had the same , amazing experience . The front desk team is so nice and accommodating. The kitchen is spotless and I love making my morning coffee and smoothies ( blender included!) The rooftop pool is gorgeous and I can’t wait to come back next year!

I WISH THE JACOZZI WAS HOT AND NOT COLD 24/7

Not a bad place to stay for the price but dont book it if you want to sleep in/relax as there are rooftop renovations happening which start around 8am and the walls are paper thin so you can hear people having sex and every time they move in the room above you

No parking only for property owner last year we use it

I had a good stay. Lacking a bit when it comes to room cleaning services one time out of two but overall a good experience

It was super dirty even they said they “clean” they didn’t their was ants everywhere plus tv was so dusty seems they had not cleaned it in months

I pulled back the blanket and saw signs of bedbug bites and dirt and hair on the sheets. I did not feel comfortable sleeping between the sheets so I slept on top of the bed. Towels were worn and had holes in there. This could be a nice place. The pool looks great but I don’t think housekeeping is doing a sheet change

Había detalles que hicieron a mi compañera y a mi, no sentirnos seguros como: puertas sin pasador, el seguro de mi habitación no cerraba en su totalidad, el aspecto general de las habitaciones se veían muy desgastadas, suciedad en los sillones, suciedad en las persianas, los refrigeradores golpeados, etc. La verdad no tuvimos la precaución de tomar foto o video, pero todo esto que menciono, ahí está en las habitaciones. Creo que lo justo sería al menos un reembolso parcial. Saludos, Darío Rayas

Very clean room and very

The hotel does not have parking, it took almost 10 minutes last night to open the lobby door and the room was dirty, dirty blankets and there were cockroaches in the facilities

The building is modern and nice but seems like it has not been very well-maintained and the cleaning is not well-done. At first glance it looks clean, but on closer inspection you will notice many areas are dirty or stained - scuffs/stains on the walls, stains on towels and sheets, hair/debris in places where it easily could have been vacuumed. In my room I noticed there was water damage coming in on the bathroom ceiling from the unit above and all over the walls I saw stains and scuffs. Also, when I arrived at my room the safe door was open but stuck in the “lock” position so I couldn’t close it to program my password and use it (a stupid move from the previous guest, but should have been fixed before I got there). I told the front desk, who said maintenance would come the next day. No one came during my three-night stay, which was annoying. Also, there are no pool cues and balls to use the pool table. Also, the staff at the front desk weren’t explicitly rude, but I had the sense while talking to them that simple inquires were an unwelcome inconvenience. My room’s door was also not well soundproofed. The area is reasonably quiet and close to fifth ave and great restaurants. The pool on the roof is nice, especially with the current sargassum situation at the beach. This place is decent and has the potential to be great with proper cleaning, maintenance, attention to detail, and better customer service. However, the “10/10” reviews from other guests are a bit too generous.

There is no peace and quiet to be had at this hotel! Doors banging, paper thin walls, contant construction and dogs barking. Got woke up every morning by my neighbor making their smoothie! Its also not very clean, I don't think they changed the bedding before I got there. There was dried blood stains on the pillows and the sheets and towels were stained. The pool area is beautifully done though and I did love the area (minus all the construction). Close to ADO bus station, Walmart and other grocery store. Lots of cool local bars, restaurants and café.

Habitaciones muy bien equipadas y cerca de centros comerciales, a 5 min de la 5a avenida, solo un día tuvimos inconvenientes que no hubo agua en todo el día, pero fuera de eso todo muy bien!

Was very impressed with the room. Had many small details that mattered to me like the full size fridge, a cutting board, a blender, Tupperware containers, plates, glasses, and even a frying pan for the electric range top. The room also had a safe and which worked perfectly and in room WiFi router. Sofía is a great place for to stay. The rooftop garden/pool area was amazing.

The hotel is very well located, and I stayed in a beautiful, spacious room with a balcony. The staff were polite and helpful, which made my stay more pleasant. However, there were a few issues that affected my experience. One major problem was that my room had a door connecting to another room. Due to this door and the thin walls, I could hear the guests in the room next door talking. This not only compromised my privacy, but it also made it difficult for me to rest during the day because the noise was quite loud. The pool area is beautiful, but unfortunately, there is no bar to purchase drinks or even water, which was a bit inconvenient. Lastly, the water pressure in the bathroom was very weak, which made it hard to flush the toilet and wash my hair properly. This was definitely a frustrating issue. Overall, while the location, room, and staff were great, there are some areas that need improvement to make the stay more comfortable.

This place is in a GREAT location, walking distance to everything you need in Centro. Love the rooftop pool area. Room was good, spacious but I not fully equipped as I had hoped. Kitchen didn't even offer utensils and included a very used sponge to wash dishes. I bought my own. It was not as clean as I hoped. Dusty. I don't think it's the cleaning staff more so the standard of clean they are told. It wasn't until I had to many ants and asked for a deep clean it was fully clean. But overall good stay. I would stay again.

Property was very continently located to dining and shopping. The room had daily cleaning service and common areas were clean along with pool area. One problem we had was door to adjoining room was not secure where someone could access your room.

I liked everything, my rooms balcony doesn't face a courtyard, but an open view of the city, that is amazing. The kitchen can definitely use a stocking round, there's 2 spoons, 2 forks, 2 pansplease put bigger coffee mugs, please LOL. At least one pot to be able to make some good soup for 2 or more. Actual bowls, kitchen utensils, etc... Overall, I loved my stay though.

A good hotel. Kitchen could use a few more supplies. Like Larger coffee mugs. More than one glass. A can opener. More than one small bar of soap. Pool area is nice. Some good restaurants a few blocks away.

Very beautiful rooms, pool and game room areas.The only thing is that even though we booked ahead of time we got the last bedroom available, which was on the main floor. It was very noisy, and without windows. The room was fairly clean but the kitchen accessories weren’t and the sink had hair. Other than that it was a nice location, and they offer to hold your luggage for 24h if you need to.

Hotel was basic, rooms had nothing at all and they stocked one toilet paper and if the roll was half they wouldn’t replace it. We arrived to a nice room with a kitchen and the dish sponge was so old and dingy. We had to buy dish soap and a new sponge along with a dish rag. The room was quiet only after 2am till 5am. We couldn’t understand why he heard everyone in the hotel and outside. It was a fantastic location but the housekeeper just did the bare min which was making the beds. Every day we got new towels but from all the reviews I read I was shocked to get what I got from this hotel. Thank you but no thank you.

We were supposed to stay for 3 nights, however we checked out after the first night. I didn’t care that it was non refundable. The front desk clerk could care less about any issues reported. Although they knew when we were arriving, the ac was off & it was so hot in the room. The fan didn’t work. I couldn’t use the phone to call the front desk because it didn’t work either. The safe was broken. As far as the bed goes, it felt like I was sleeping on the floor. The pool water was dirty. Also, although they advertise the rooftop bar, it never opened. Horrible place to stay.

The property itself was maintained well and had the potential ti be what we needed. The area was great because it was walkable distance to many businesses and restaurants. We ran into issues at this property because we were counting on having running hot water, but our room was missing a water heater. With my toddler this became a grave inconvenience because it became extremely difficult and uncomfortable to bathe. We informed the front desk and maintenance team but nothing was done to get a water heater for our room. We followed up countless times and nothing was done and the concierge basically told us to file a complaint via Expedia as nothing would be done on their end. The walls and doors seem to be paper thin as we could hear everything on our floor as if it were happening in our room which was bothersome at night when we were trying to sleep. Across the hall we had a domestic dispute occur and I had to call for help as our neighbors were slamming doors and yelling which made it impossible to sleep. They were quick to out that to an end which was helpful. Had it not been for the water heater issue I think I eould have given this property a better review, but their lack of attention to my issue made it an unpleasant experience.

Mixchell and sorahya were beyond helpful and knowledgeable about the local activities and sites. I 100% recommend this stay for anyone considering

La atención del personal fue pésima. El recepcionista de la mañana está coluido con los taxistas, le pedimos ayuda para saber la tarifa del taxista y cuando le dijimos que NO nos interesaba (porque era demasiado para la corta distancia), aún así lo pidió, gracias a esa acción llegamos tarde al tren y lo perdimos ya que nos entretuvieron para tratarnos de convencer. Además, las veces que nos llegaron a faltar cosas en el hotel, nunca nos resolvieron. La mala experiencia fue de parte del personal porque el lugar está muy bien.

Room was great. Front desk staff and cleaning staff were fantastic. In fact all staff are fantastic. They were personable helpful and just overall great. Pool was great too. Everything was clean and smelled great. Lots of hot water. A/c was cold. Area was good it’s far enough from the touristy areas to not be bothered by noise n whatnot but close enough to walk to 5th in maybe 10-15 mins if you chose. Great bakery n pizza across the street and tacos close by. Oxxo 7-11 and a six all close by and the mega is one block away. Would stay here again 100%

The room and location was perfect! The rooftop pool area was also amazing really enjoyed it! The cons are that it was hard to get clean towels, we had to ask the maid directly since, as per the reception, they are not the same company and are not able to provide with towels. Another cons is the staff and most precisely the older male concierge. He was the first person we saw when checking in and was rude and not helpful at all. Same attitude when checking in, didnt help for the luggage was just looking at us did not even open the door for us he was just smoking his cigarette... Beside the social aspect we really liked this accommodation

Ana was really helpful when a power outage hit the area. Ana went above and beyond. Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Would and will stay at this hotel again.

We have stayed at Sophia’s 2 nights, staff were very friendly, room was nice and clean. We have parked right in front of the building, street has parking meters from 10 am until 10pm so prepare yourself some pesos to feed the parking meter. Night was not loud, we had a good night sleep. There is a cafe called Choux Choux 2 blocks from there has excellent breakfast coffee and plenty of baked goods, you definitely need to check out that place.

Our condo unit was clean and comfortable, the locationwas a perfect diatance to 5th ave and to the ADO station. Lots of restaurant options within a 5 minute walk.

Well located in the middle of everything and near everything.

Clean room. Convenient location. Loved the coffee shop across the street. Parking was difficult

Zona muyyyy tranquila y segura. Cerca de Walmart y Soriana. La quinta avenida está a pocas cuadras del hotel y también el mar. Recomendable..

There is plenty of food places whithin walking distances, friendly staff, clean and spaciuos rooms. Roof top and pool área is awesome with Nice music.

What a nice place to stay in Playa del Carmen! You are still walking distance from the 5th so you can party if you want, but it is far enough away that it is quiet and peaceful at night. There are lots of restaurants and food stands, and a huge grocery store if you want to use the kitchen in your room and self cater. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable, the mattress was quite firm. Impeccably cleaned when we went out, they did a wonderful job every time.Our private balcony was nice to relax on in the evening. We really enjoyed the rooftop pool area, so nice to spend an afternoon up there just reading and cooling off in the pool. We are coming back for one night before flying home, hopefully we can book a room here again, it was such a nice stay. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting Playa!

Stayed for two weeks in February and very much enjoyed our stay. We like to walk and did not use a taxi once. Bus terminal from airport is only a 15 minute walk. The Mega (Soriana) grocery story is very close. Juan Carlos at the front desk was very helpful.

Very convenient closed to restaurants and the Beach Clean very modern with beautiful pool in the roof.

I checked out and left immediately to the Hyatt. There are two chairs by the pool no place to lounge or take the sun no place to buy water in the building coming off a flight your thirsty . Terrible I read the reviews and they lied it’s far from the beach. As a courtesy leave water for your guests or have a vending machine .

Clean condo, well equipped kitchen ; toaster, coffee maker, liquidizer, large fridge freezer, hob, utensils (drawer is hidden in the cupboard under the hob). Perfect for self catering but when you don’t want to cook a good variety of restaurants close by. Easy walk to the beach and buzzing 5th Avenue. Easy walk to the Ado bus station and a bit further to the collectivos. Excellent roof top pool. Everything was in good functioning order: lift, room air conditioning, room safe and bathroom. Nice balcony with 2 chairs and table. In summary an excellent place to base yourself to explore the area as long as you are happy to walk a bit and a great place to relax on rest days. Rooms were clean everyday.

Nice room, nice staff, not as close to beaches as others but still very walkable. One thing that would be nice is a water cooler or similar so as to have a better way for guests to buy water for themselves.
