Highly recommended in budget price .. you need to pay 100 $ deposite but that will get refunded on same day of checkout. Very clean and walkable distance from pleasure pier. We didn't try breakfast but you can get waffle and complementary coffee. Enough free parking available at property.

Disappointed that the pool hours were listed 10am - 10pm and when I asked for them to open the front desk lady said it opens at 2pm. However, a cleaning guy saw my kids and I and asked if we were going to the pool. I told him what the front desk said and he said it opened at 11am and although it was 10:45am he open for us. Also disappointing was the continental breakfast that consisted of chocolate chip small muffins and coffee.

Proximity to beach, excellent, just walk across the street. A/C works great. Comfortable beds, but I am not too picky. Room size is very small and tight, this is a 1960s motel. The sink is separate from toilet and shower. Walls, trim on doors have seen better days, some places have been poorly patched. Trim on shower must have been done by a non professional. Breakfast in name only: folgers coffee and dry mini muffins, that is it. Desk staff friendlyness non existent, but they did their job. Cleaning staff seemed happy. Pool is tiny, can fit ten people max, and it would feel packed, but you have an ocean accross the street.

The facility is filthy and not well maintained. The front desk associate upon check-in seemed annoyed doing her job. The ice machine was filthy and never worked. There were drugs being used in the parking lot and loud music being played for vehicles after midnight.

It is right off the beach and restaurant close by. Free parking guy on night shift was cool and the pool stays open until11 pm. Check in a 4 pm not earlier. Room smelt clean but sheets had stains on them. Continental breakfast was a joke. Three stell a$$ mini muffins we're in a plastic bin. Otherwise ok. I would say you get what you pay for but one night was 175$. Not bad for a one night stay.

Stayed here several times since Thanksgiving 2024, will stay again. Only knock is lack of parking when all rooms are taken. However the parking along hotel side of Seawall is free and available for use.

Door issue, It was difficult and challenging to unlock and open the door. I reported it to the front desk clerk; she said to try pulling on the door handle after using the card to unlock the door. Everyday I had to attempt this method several times before the door would finally open. It was very frustrating having to deal with it during my 4 night stay. Parking was also a challenge, the spaces are very tight and limited, the first night I had to park in the street.

My stay has been nothing short but excellent. It’s conveniently located near the beach within a walkable distance to restaurants and shops. Housekeeping is very helpful. It’s an affordable and comfortable stay. My only complaint would be the breakfast which isn’t much of a breakfast. They offer muffins and coffee. Otherwise, I recommend.

It was a spur of the moment overnight trip. We wanted beach view. The room was an average room, nothing fancy of course. the bed was comfy, but the shower was awful! hardly any water pressure, and it took a while to receive hot water. Besides the shower issue, our overall stay was okay. I may book this hotel in the future. We just needed a bed and shower, as our plan was stay on the beach the whole day.

The showers have almost zero water pressure. That’s enough for me to not come back again. However, the location is great and the price is great. The door locks are really rusted and needed replaced too so security may be a concern as well. 2-3 stars not terrible but not great either

Out of eight yrs this was the worst front counter check in anywhere in Galveston Texas . Talked to the manager on check out of our last day .. I avoided the office to even ask for services or about any... Reviews said other and then my personal experience wanted me to check out and loss my money sadly I couldn't I was 6hrs from home and well to wait for a refund wasn't an option... So I won't stay here again due to the service I received... Now the room was comfortable and location was convenient but that alone is not what I look for as a guest

We arrived at 1am after driving from the Houston Rodeo and after loading all of our stuff in the room, we got locked out because the battery died on the door. My family had to sit on the sidewalk until 330am after I “picked” the lock using a credit card. Surprisingly easy to break into. After we finally got in the maintenance guy shows up so drunk that he couldn’t walk straight. We told him don’t bother and went to sleep. Long story short mgmt was not willing to reimburse us for the inconvenience nor honor a late checkout. They were completely rude and useless. I asked repeatedly to speak to someone in charge and the clerk would not allow it. I asked him to tell his manager about the ordeal and try to work something out but he refused to communicate any of our issues and said it was irrelevant. I got the feeling he was trying to protect his drunk buddy. Plus the rooms were nasty and there was zero hot water. Will never stay here again. Avoid this place like the plague.

Good cheap spot in front of spot however there was gentlemen that was real cool gave me a room ahead of check in time but next day i wanted to get another day booked but there was this girl working that day wanted to have 100 dollar hold on my card when i wasn’t even charge when the guy working up front there. If you go i recommend going there when there’s a gentlemen working there.

The woman at the seat was very rude rolled her eyes at me and me and my husband came down there for our honey moon get away and it did not say on the site where I book there was a 100 hold fee and someone needs to clean the little grass ears it has trash all around it

Everything was good. Nice clean rooms, well lit parking area. Only problem i encountered was one check in staff Named Jordan! She was wearing pajamas at work and had an i dont care attitude. Other than that everyone else was professional and friendly.

It was OK for a one night stay. The ocean is across the street and the view was great. The motel itself was very noisy. Walls are thin and people are loud. For the price I would expect more but it was Spring Break so I am sure the price was inflated.

An older property but has been updated. Nothing fancy, but convenient to things to do. Our room was close to the front which makes view nice, but then street noises were annoying.

Great price for the area. Beds were small, but comfortable. For an older facility it was in decent shape, however the floor was a little slimy due to humidity and no bathroom vent. Breakfast was a snack at best.

The Mariner is a descent place for a little get away. The rooms might not be fully updated but at least it wasnt crawling with roaches. Being right next to the gulf it is in fairly good shape. Not really a continental breakfast when its only a muffin.

Front desk clerk was not the friendliest and demanded our 2nd room deposit via card was in the name of the person checking into the room. I guess. Breakfast was coffee and muffins only. Best beach front hotel on a budget. Room was clean and bed was decent. One night stay for our Carnival cruise.

Ladybat the checkin wasn't very friendly at all. We had no hot water so we couldn't so Hower. Neighbors in the next foom was fighting all night. Cont breakfast was just mini muffins and coffee. Nothing else

Disappointed that the pool hours were listed 10am - 10pm and when I asked for them to open the front desk lady said it opens at 2pm. However, a cleaning guy saw my kids and I and asked if we were going to the pool. I told him what the front desk said and he said it opened at 11am and although it was 10:45am he open for us. Also disappointing was the continental breakfast that consisted of chocolate chip small muffins and coffee.

Proximity to beach, excellent, just walk across the street. A/C works great. Comfortable beds, but I am not too picky. Room size is very small and tight, this is a 1960s motel. The sink is separate from toilet and shower. Walls, trim on doors have seen better days, some places have been poorly patched. Trim on shower must have been done by a non professional. Breakfast in name only: folgers coffee and dry mini muffins, that is it. Desk staff friendlyness non existent, but they did their job. Cleaning staff seemed happy. Pool is tiny, can fit ten people max, and it would feel packed, but you have an ocean accross the street.

My stay has been nothing short but excellent. It’s conveniently located near the beach within a walkable distance to restaurants and shops. Housekeeping is very helpful. It’s an affordable and comfortable stay. My only complaint would be the breakfast which isn’t much of a breakfast. They offer muffins and coffee. Otherwise, I recommend.

Just average - location is great; right across the street is the seawall. We stayed in room 226 and the water in the shower was warm but not hot. Coffee was available from 7-9 am but no milk and unfortunately they did not have any to purchase. There was a fridge in the room so you could pick some up.

Fantastic location! It’s walking distance to the Salt Grass Restaurant and it’s across the street from the Atlantic Ocean. It’s also not far from the Port of Galveston. One negative is that although the room has had some remodeling the lamp between the beds was corroded (likely from the ocean air) and should be replaced.
